1. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?

2. What technology did you use for your
research and planning?
• To make our thriller opening- The Witness, we had to use
different types of technology to construct the film, from social
media to technology devices:
• Wordpress- Wordpress was used as we had to blog our
research and planning as well as the filming and editing.
• Google- Used to get images and to research information.
• Microsoft office & Powerpoint- This was used to present our
ideas such as props and costumes etc.
• Mobile phone/Whatsapp- We used our phones to take
pictures for proof that we’re filming so we could use for our
blogs. We used whatsapp too, as we all communicated with
one and another to plan when we were going to meet up and
film.

3. • Camera- We used a digital camera that our school
provided so we could record our thriller openings.
• Google maps- to use for our location reece and to show
the alleyway where we were going to film.
• Final cut pro- Used to edit our videos and to make our
thriller opening.
• Garageband- used to make our music.
• ITunes- used to import some sound effects
• Slideshare- I put all of my power points for my
coursework onto slide share so I can upload them to my
blog. This really helped because the power points are
important and a non boring way to express coursework.
• USB- this was used to put screenshots of The Witness
onto my memory card

5. What would happen if we didn’t have
any technology?
• If we didn’t have these apps or gadgets, we
wouldn’t be able to make a thriller opening or
construct one. Also, we wouldn’t be able to
research what we need or to show what we
need.
• It would be extremely hard if we didn’t any
gadgets because we wouldn’t be able to film
anything. Also, we wouldn’t be able to
communicate with one and another.

6. What has using the technology
taught me?
• Besides using the computer or searching stuff onto Google for my location
reece or finding a picture of a hoodie for a prop, the use of technology has
helped me adapt skills in making a short film. In this case, a thriller
opening. Even though we did the preliminary task, I felt like my skills have
grown by being able to use finalcut pro or garage band. It allowed me to
extend my knowledge on how to make music or how to edit videos. For
instance, I never knew how to colour match videos, but by playing around
with the app it allowed me to teach myself. This was the same with
garageband. I have also learnt a lot from final cut pro. For instance, we
were in a dilemma because some of our footage was darker than the
others because of the lighting, so what I did was match the two colours by
a Match band, I never knew how to do this. I didn’t even know you could
do this, with the help of Mr Guest the technician, it became successful. I
had to tackle this responsibility myself. Also, my group and I wanted to
fade the volume as some bits were recorded really loud so we all worked
together as a group to figure it out and eventually, Maya knew how to do
it because of the preliminary task.
