3. CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
Early childhood education, comprising up
to six years of age, contributes to the
physical, intellectual, emotional, social and
moral development of children. Early
childhood education comprises two cycles.
The first cycle is extended to three years,
and second, from three to six years old.
4. ELEMENTARY EDUCATION
Primary education comprises six
academic years from 6 to 12 years,
organized in three cycles of two years
each. It is a free and compulsory
education stage. Its purpose is to promote
the socialization of children, promote their
incorporation into the culture and
contribute to the progressive autonomy of
action in their environment. Education is
organized into areas taught by teachers /

5. SECONDARY EDUCATION
The ESO is a new stage of education (compulsory and
free) to all citizens of school age, extending over four
years after the stage of primary education. Provides the
necessary training to pursue their studies both
Baccalaureate and vocational training intermediate level.
Students begin this stage at the age of twelve and ends
at sixteen. The purpose of designing this new stage of
education is basically to extend compulsory education
until the age of sixteen years to adapt to the initial
working age any Spanish citizen and equating the
Spanish educational system with those of EU countries
6. BACHILLERATO
The bachillerato is the last stage of secondary
education, is voluntary and lasts for two courses,
usually between 16 and 18. The Bachelor has
four different modes, which have been
established to serve both the diversity of future
studies as to the variety of interests, abilities and
attitudes that have youth in this age group. The
four modes are: Arts, Natural Science and
Health, Humanities and Social Sciences,
Technology.
7. University studies
University studies are organized in cycles. There are three models:
- First cycle with clear professional orientation that currently lack
of continuity in the second cycle (Library Science, Nursing, etc..).
They last three years, with a load not less than 180 academic
credits. The first cycle is called Diploma, Technical Architecture or
Engineering.
- Lessons from two cycles without intermediate qualification. In
this case the lessons are arranged in cycles but the improvement
from the first no right to obtain a title, because not a full course of
academic or professional qualification gives a (Veterinary Medicine,
etc ...) . Can last four to five years, with a teaching load not less than
300 credits.
- Lessons from two cycles of intermediate degree. In this case the
first cycle should lead to the award of a Diploma, Technical
Engineer or Technical Architect and may continue in the second
cycle to get a degree, engineer or architect.
8. VOCATIONAL TRAINING
Vocational training in the field of education
system, aims at preparing students for
work in a professional field, providing
cross-training to enable them to adapt to
business changes that may occur
throughout life. It includes both basic
training and specific vocational training
intermediate and advanced level.
