• Then you are to report on these four areas in this format (divided into
four separate sections):
• (A) HOW MANY ADS OF ALL TYPES/MEDIA DID YOU SEE AND IN WHAT
MEDIA DID YOU SEE THEM?
• (B) WHICH SPECIFIC AD WAS THE "BEST/SMARTEST/MOST
EFFECTIVE"? WHICH SPECIFIC AD WAS THE "WORST/STUPIDEST/LEAST
EFFECTIVE"?
• (C) DID ANY ADS SEEM PARTICULARLY DESIGNED TO MAKE YOU FEEL
BAD/WORSE ABOUT YOURSELF IN SOME WAY? IF SO, WHICH ONES AND
IN WHAT WAY?
• (D) YOUR PERSONAL REFLECTIONS ON MASS MEDIA ADVERTISING
AND ITS ROLE IS SOCIETY AND CULTURE
Again, divide your project into the 4 separate sections as outlined
above.

THINGS TO REMEMBER:
• WHAT IS AN ADVERTISEMENT?
•A notice, such as a poster or a paid announcement in
the print, broadcast, or electronic media, designed to
attract public attention or patronage.
•Something designed to impact your behavior and/or
thoughts – to get you to buy, think, or behave in a
specific manner
•Advertising is also about raising “brand awareness”
so PRODUCT PLACEMENT = ADVERTISING

• DUE DATE: Completed by midnight on Tuesday, 4/16:
SUBMIT IT VIA BLACKBOARD! If you have questions about
how to submit an assignment, see me!
• Quality is as important as quantity but a good range to
shoot for is about 500 words per project.
• Remember NO LATE PROJECTS OR PAPERS ARE
ACCEPTED FOR FULL CREDIT – you will always have
plenty of time and notice for classwork via
Blackboard.
