4. CONTENT ANALYSIS
The one act play 'The princess on the road' is written
by Katheleen Congngham Greene. In her plays woman treats as the
central characters. In this play the main character is The Princess.
We never think a princess on the road. But here is a princess
appears in a village road disguised as a peasant girl. When she
reached there how the villagers treated her is the main theme of
this play. The Princess took an adventure trip to the village but led
to a pathetic condition by treating her as a thief and vagabond. At
last she escaped from their humiliation with the help of the Juggler.
A woman who is alone will be treated brutally. Here this theme is
displayed in beautiful manner.
