Review of Educator Autonomy Working Group Final Report
June 2014
Context: The draftfinal report, Pathwaysto Understanding,Supporting and Increasing EducatorAutonomy in Rhode
Island, wasprepared toreflectthe processandrecommendationsthatthe EducatorAutonomyWorkingGroupcame to
inJune 2014. The outline thatwassharedat the June 2014 meetingwasusedtodevelopthe draftfinal report. The
approach usedinwritingthe reportwasto (a) brieflydescribethe processusedtodevelopthe recommendations;(b)
presentthe recommendationsinthe formatdiscussedatthe workingmeetings;and(c) provide the information(e.g.,
researchbriefs,interviews,glossary)usedbythe workinggroupinthe appendices. The intentwastobe succinct and
provide astrong rationale forwhythe three recommendationsare key ones formovingahead. Final formattingand
editingof the reportwill be completedafterthe July7,2014 meeting.
Individual Review: Please reviewthe draftfinal reportusingthe attachedquestions. Bringyourresponsestothe July7,
2014 meeting,atwhichtime we will use thisfeedbacktoidentifyareasof the reportthatneedfurtherclarificationor
explanationtorepresentthe workof the group. We will be collectingthese feedbacksheetsatthe end ofthe meeting
so that we can use the informationprovidedfor the final editing.
We will NOTdogroup editingatthe meeting;if youhave specificeditorial correctionsorwordusage concerns,please
provide the co-chairswitha“marked”versionof yourreport thatthe writingteamwill use tomake the changestothe

Review of Educator Autonomy Working Group Final Report June 2014 Context: The draftfinal report, Pathwaysto Understanding,Supporting and Increasing EducatorAutonomy in Rhode Island, wasprepared toreflectthe processandrecommendationsthatthe EducatorAutonomyWorkingGroupcame to inJune 2014. The outline thatwassharedat the June 2014 meetingwasusedtodevelopthe draftfinal report. The approach usedinwritingthe reportwasto (a) brieflydescribethe processusedtodevelopthe recommendations;(b) presentthe recommendationsinthe formatdiscussedatthe workingmeetings;and(c) provide the information(e.g., researchbriefs,interviews,glossary)usedbythe workinggroupinthe appendices. The intentwastobe succinct and provide astrong rationale forwhythe three recommendationsare key ones formovingahead. Final formattingand editingof the reportwill be completedafterthe July7,2014 meeting. Individual Review: Please reviewthe draftfinal reportusingthe attachedquestions. Bringyourresponsestothe July7, 2014 meeting,atwhichtime we will use thisfeedbacktoidentifyareasof the reportthatneedfurtherclarificationor explanationtorepresentthe workof the group. We will be collectingthese feedbacksheetsatthe end ofthe meeting so that we can use the informationprovidedfor the final editing. We will NOTdogroup editingatthe meeting;if youhave specificeditorial correctionsorwordusage concerns,please provide the co-chairswitha“marked”versionof yourreport thatthe writingteamwill use tomake the changestothe report.
