Attachment PreviewThe Week 10 Assignment is focused on social change. Here are a few
things to note: 1. This week’s course materials explicitly provide the RQ that all students
should use for the Week 10 Assignment: What does social change mean to Walden graduate
students? 2. Think about how you would write a purpose statement that aligns with this RQ,
based on what we learned earlier in the course and my previous examples in the
Announcements. 3. We will interview 1 peer who is a Walden student or Walden graduate
for this Week 10 Assignment. (I will use the name Clyde Singleton he is a Walden Student )
4. We will transcribe and code this interview. 5. Use the Yob and Brewer questions from the
article, found in the Appendices of the article. Preparing: To prepare to write this paper, do
the following: 1. Completely disregard everything from the Week 4/8 papers—none of that
belongs here. 2. Complete, transcribe, and code your peer interview where you used the Yob
and Brewer questions. 3. Go back and retrieve your discussions where you coded: a. Two
scholar of change videos b. Material from the Walden social change website. 4. Obtain the
RQ provided to you in Week 7: What does social change mean to Walden graduate students?
a. THIS IS THE RQ THAT YOU NEED TO USE 5. Write a purpose statement. a. Assignment:
The Analysis and Interpretation of Qualitative Data AnalysisBy now, you should all be able
to take this RQ and write a purpose that aligns: i. The purpose of this qualitative study is to
explore… 6. Write a short problem statement a. We know that the RQ and purpose is
focused on what social change means to Walden students, so write a problem statement
about the need for social change, broadly speaking, and the need to address social change in
education Writing: To write this paper, do the following: 1. Write a paper that includes the
following elements. Use this outline/headings. See the rubric as well Introduction Introduce
2. the topic of social change—cite sources from class Problem Statement Write a problem
statement (see above) –include social change sources from class and others Purpose
Statement Write a purpose statement that matches the RQ provided. Include 1-2 sentences
also on who you collected data from and how RQ RQ should be phrased: What is the
meaning of social change for Walden graduate students? Role of the Researcher Describe
your role in data collection and as a researcher. Be sure to mention that you, as a qualitative
researcher, are the data collection instrument, among the other instruments involved in the
study. Be sure to address bias. Data Sources Data sources should be described as: scholar of
change videos, Walden social change website, and peer interview Instrumentation
Remember, you are the data collection instrument. The Yob and Brewer questions are also
an instrument Data Analysis HINT: Assignment: The Analysis and Interpretation of
Qualitative Data AnalysisYou have multiple sources of data here, but think about coding for
the purpose and RQ only. It is not necessary to code for EVERYTHING. Code for ideas related
to your RQ. Also, consider all of the data, from different sources, together as THE data for
your research. Code them together, big-picture, instead of coding one source of data
independent from the others. Describe how you coded. Results Describe your results/
themes. Remember, themes need to be full statements/ideas. HINT: Your themes need to
answer the RQ. Trustworthiness: (a) credibility, (b) transferability, (c) dependability, and
(d) confirmability. HINT: Discuss each of these and provide sources as well as indicated how
you addressed them in your study. Summary Summarize the results and meaning of social
change for Walden students In conducting qualitative research, interviews form the basic
technique in the process of collecting vital information necessary to inform a topic under
investigation. Ravitch and Carl (2019) noted that interviewing is a process used by the
qualitative researcher to gather information from an interviewee in a well-coordinated
procedure that involves a conversation between two people. The interview process consists
of an interviewer asking the questions to a respondent suitable in collecting indepth
information about the person’s opinion, experience, thoughts, and feelings about a
phenomenon under investigation. The videos by Dr. Crawford provides both the practical
and ineffective practices employed by different interviewers in the process of conducting an
interview. Assignment: The Analysis and Interpretation of Qualitative Data AnalysisFrom
the analysis, some of the best practices in conducting an interview process include the
selection of the appropriate location that provides ambiance and a conducive atmosphere to
conduct an effective interview. H. Rubin and S. Rubin (2012) noted that the site of an
interview promotes the effectiveness of the conversation. Another best practice in
conducting an interview is to ensure that the discussion follows a conversational tone to
enhance the creation of rapport between the interviewee and the interviewer (Laureate
Education, 2016). Besides, elaborating the interview process is another crucial best practice
that aids in creating a conversational atmosphere between the interviewer and the
respondent. Another significant method in conducting an interview entails the selection of
the correct questions that align with the topic under investigation. However, one should
avoid some practices in conducting an interview, such as engaging in confrontation with the
respondent. Taking over is another practice that an interviewee should avoid in the course
of conducting an interview. The experience gained after viewing the video will aid in
3. informing the approach for my interviewing assignment. Mainly, the experience will assist
in selecting a conducive location for conducting the interview as well as in ensuring that the
interview process follows the recommended interview procedures for enhancing
effectiveness. Reference List Laureate Education (Producer). (2016). Doctoral research:

The art of hearing data (3rd ed.). Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage Publications. A good interview
depicts diverse characteristics that enhance the effectiveness of a qualitative interview
process (Yob & Brewer, n.d.). Some of the identifiable excellent attributes of a qualitative
interview are the presence of an interview guide that informs about the entire interviewing
process. Having an interview guide enhances the ability to capture all aspects of an
interview culminating in the attainment of the core interview objectives. Having a good
introduction is another critical characteristic of a good conversation that fosters the ability
to create a conducive environment to undertake a qualitative interview process with a
selected respondent. Establishing a rapport with the interviewee increases the chances of
obtaining more valuable information form the respondents fostering the attainment of the
qualitative interview core objectives. Well formulated and unambiguous interview
questions is another significant characteristic of a good interview. The questions direct the
interview process increasing the ability to realize the core objectives of undertaking the
qualitative interview process. Nonetheless, to increase the effectiveness of an interview,
enhancing the ability to understand the characteristics of a good conversation, an
interviewer could engage in a brainstorming process. Brainstorming enables the
interviewer to obtains essential information that informs the entire process increases the
ability to accomplish the objectives of conducting a qualitative interview. Assignment: The
Analysis and Interpretation of Qualitative Data AnalysisFor instance, during a
brainstorming session, an interviewer gains important aspects that guide their
conversation, including the preparation to do an interview process. A Good Interview Guide
An interview guide comprises a list of high-level topics that an interviewee plans to cover in
an interview. This consists of high-level questions that one intends to complete related to
the topic under investigation to collect as much information as possible from the selected
sample population (Laureate Education, 2016). The characteristics of a useful interview
guide include the presence of well-crafted questions that one intends to ask about, as well
as the sequence in which the questions would be asked to promote the flow of an interview
process. Secondly, a useful interview guide should offer guidance about what one would say
next after the interviewee completes to answer the previous question. Another
characteristic of a good interview guide entails the formulation of questions, whereby the
interviewer should focus on getting more information from the respondent that would aid
in gaining the intended insights and the core objectives of undertaking a qualitative
interview. The last characteristic of a good interview guide is the presence of a closing
remark intended to thank the interviewee for sparing time to participate in the process
while requesting if the respondent was willing to take part in a similar session in the future.
The closing remark enhances the attainment of closing a rapport between the interviewer
4. and the respondent. Reference List Laureate Education (Producer). (2016). Doctoral
