4. A group of cells that have similar structure
and function constitute a tissue. Tissues are
aggregate to form an organ. Organs together
constitute organ system. Organ system
aggregate to form an organism. Animal tissues
are present only in animals.
Different types of animal tissues are
1.Epithelial tissue,
2.Connective tissue
3.Muscle tissue
4.Nervous tissue
5. EPITHELIAL TISSUE
Epithelial tissues forms a
lining all over the body
of the organism. It
protect the inner lying
party. It is also
secretory in function
to secrete sebum and
excrete waste along
with sweat
6. CONNECTIVE TISSUES
• These are fibrous in
nature. They included
blood,bone,ligament,
cartilage, areolar and
adipose tissue. These
help in binding other
tissue, together. They
also provide support
to other tissue.
7. MUSCLE TISSUES
• These are made up of
muscle cells. These are
elastic in nature they
have tensile strength.
They bring about
movement in organisms.
These muscle can be
voluntary or involuntary
in function. Muscle
tissue is categorized in
to visceral
muscle,skettal muscle
and cardiac muscle
8. Nervous tissues
• Is the tissue which works in
coordinating the organs of
the body by generating
impulses. It is made up of
special cells called as
neurons. Each neuron consist
of a cell body, which contains
a nucleus, cytoplasm,called
cyton, and elongated hair like
extension called dendrites.
Nervous tissues are found in
the brain, spinal cord and
nerves.
9. In animals organs are composed
of varying combination of four basic tissue
types. Each of these tissues has destination
structural features and specific functions which
are again combined to produce functioning
organs
