What is Bluetooth?
It’s a short range wireless communication technology .
When does it appear?
The Bluetooth specification was first developed in 1994 by Sven
mattison and Jaap Haartsen .
- 5 companies (Ericsson , Nokia , IBM , Intel & Toshiba ) Joined to
form the Bluetooth special interest group in 1998 .
- First specification released in July 1999 .
Why it is named as Bluetooth?
It was taken from the 10th century Danish King Harald Blateand
who unified Denmark and Norway .
4. Scatternet & Piconet
What is piconet ?
A piconet is an ad hoc network that links a wireless user group of devices
using Bluetooth technology protocols. A piconet consists of two or more
devices occupying the same physical channel .
What is Scatternet ?
A scatternet is a type of ad hoc computer network consisting of two or
more piconets .
What is Scatternet and piconet ?
A scatternet is a number of interconnected piconets that supports
communication between more than 8 devices. Scatternets can be
formed when a member of one piconet (either the master or one
of the slaves) elects to participate as a slave in a second,
separate piconet.
