"Puzzle My World" is the lesson that I will teach to kindergarten students in Social Studies. "The Big Idea" in my conceptual lesson plan is
"Diversity"; how the ideas of many different people and cultures can come together to make something wonderful. I plan on basically making a puzzle
of all the different kids who each put their original ideas and personalities on each puzzle piece to make it a very diverse and beautiful final project. I
believe this will help kids understand that diversity is a wonderful part of living in America, because no two people are exactly the same. I was

Epidemiology: Obstructive sleep apnea is becoming more prevalent in adults and children in our society. Obstructive sleep apnea is undiagnosed
mostly in women being 92% and 80% in men. The estimated prevalence in women is 2% and in men is 4%. A study was done by the University of
Pennsylvania revealing that the prevalence in women was 4% and 9% for men. Another study called The Wisconsin Cohrt study showed that people

Student Diversity Reflection
Despite our Department's social justice mission and our explicit diversity, my experiences as a black–Latino male has been counter to the principles we
espouse. Allow me to explain. White faculty members' have intentionally deemphasized my academic credentials, undermined me with students, and
are among those who initially characterized me based on my racial identity. To illustrate, Mr. Paul Sivak created a slide to introduce faculty during the
2016 New Student Orientation that included the degrees/credentials of each faculty member, however, all of my degrees/credentials were omitted.
Mr. Sivak writes in his evaluation letter that I have spent "a tremendous amount of time in the classroom touting his own research and using the
platform afforded to him by his role as a teacher to proclaim his superiority...if he is pursuing scholarly activity it is only benefiting himself." I
respectfully reject Mr. Sivak's equivocation. First, I want to be clear that I had several conversations with Department Chair Dr. Kilolo Brodie who
encouraged me to talk about myself as a means to build relationships with students. She shared with me she had her own issues with students when she
joined the faculty and overcame her student issues, sometimes at the expense of the course material, by spending a great deal of effort building rapport
and relationships with students by sharing her personal narrative and background and even explaining to the students why she preferred to be
addressed as Dr. Brodie. While I heeded this advice the interpretation in the faculty input letters is interpreted as self–serving to promote my own
agenda.
As my WPAF binder shows, and Department RPT elaborations require, I have an active research agenda that not only promotes social justice, our
MSW program's primary mission, but also promotes our department; I have represented our MSW program at national and international conferences

The toy that I picked is the Nickelodeon Deluxe Slime making kit. The toy is a do–it–yourself slime making kit that makes customizable slime. The kit
comes with glue, slime activator, scented and non–scented colorant, glitter, beads, measuring cups, mixing sticks, and "easy to follow instructions".
Nickelodeons signature marketing tool is slime, so the appeal of toy is very high in kids. Another reason why I picked it is because there is a high
