Problem Statement
Companies need a way to find employees with
both technical and interpersonal skills that
match the job criteria and company
environment because a good will increase the
success of the company and secure long term
employment.
OR
How can companies meet and recognize the
right people better?
Obvious solutions
1. Thorough interview process.
2. Ask for references from previous employers.
3. Hiring people for a trial period.
4. Offering training classes and hire people
who do well.
5. Create design competition and hire people
who do the best.
6. Use staffing agency who knows more about
the people they propose to be hired.
7. Offer internships for students.
8. Visit career fairs and other similar events.
Obvious solutions cont.
9. Use referrals from people within the
company.
10. Sponsor a club on campus that will be an
“employee feeder” for the company.
11. Host a networking event.
12. Sponsor hands-on classes at high schools.
13. Visit campuses with recruiting purposes.
14. Incorporate testing into the interview
process.
15. “Steal” employees from other companies.
Unlimited budget solutions
15. Extensive background check.
16. Hire all the applicants and pick the best
ones.
17. Purchase companies that are already
successful.
18. Host a technological conference.
19. Build a comprehensive online university for
people who want to learn about the industry.
20. Giving out free products and see how
creative people use them.
21. Invite potential employees to a party and
Novel Ideas (in my opinion).
22. Require IQ test on the resume.
23. Time the employees while they do basic
tasks.
My favorite ideas.
1. Offer internships for students.
That is a good way to figure out who is who. After a few
weeks it becomes apparent if the intern can survive at the
company.
2. Create a massive design competition.
If you offer a position at a company to the first few
winners or at least promise an interview, people will flock to
your competition. Selecting winners = selecting hirees.
3. Publish trainings online and invite people to
take them.
It is my favorite, because I feel like people are hungry for
learning, they just don’t know where to get it from. Given a
chance, they learn everything they need to be successful.

  • 7. My favorite ideas. 1. Offer internships for students. That is a good way to figure out who is who. After a few weeks it becomes apparent if the intern can survive at the company. 2. Create a massive design competition. If you offer a position at a company to the first few winners or at least promise an interview, people will flock to your competition. Selecting winners = selecting hirees. 3. Publish trainings online and invite people to take them. It is my favorite, because I feel like people are hungry for learning, they just don’t know where to get it from. Given a chance, they learn everything they need to be successful.
