2. Mise-en-scene
• During my opening sequence I firstly decided to put the
protagonist (Nathan Fullerton) not in conventionally night
wear because teenage boys don’t wear the stereotypical
pj’s. I think that I have used the right props and setting
during the filming for my opening sequence, I thought that
I did well to show that it was a stereotypical boy by the
way I made sure that his room way untidy. There was only
two props that the protagonist used in throughout the
opening sequence and that was the cup and his phone
that he picked up. The reason why I have done this is
because I wanted the audience to know what was
happening throughout and not to miss the important thing.
3. Cinematography
• I thought that my cinematography followed the codes and conventions
of a thriller genre. I have used many close-ups and extreme close ups
to show the expression on the protagonist face. I made sure that I
filmed when it was dark because I wanted to show how early it was in
the morning and that it was less lighting that would add to the
atmosphere.
4. Character
• The reason why I only had one protagonist in my opening sequence
is because I thought that it would be more interesting. I think that
made it interesting is that the main protagonist is the victim as well
which in normal sense is all way the women. Also the other thing that
was interesting in my opening sequence was that there wasn’t a
antagonist.
5. Sound
• Throughout my opening sequence I have used diegetic and non
diegetic sounds which allows the audience to get a different type of
atmosphere. I have used different pitches throughout out because at
certain points the mood changes.
• I thought that I have used different micro elements of the thriller genre
well. For my sound track I have used two instrumental pieces. At the
start was of a piano which I thought didn’t really fit in with the who
genre but towards the end I liked the music because it was airier and
it made the atmosphere intense.
