Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga, Spain in 1881. He became the most famous artist of the 20th century and was very influential in modern art. Picasso's career spanned different periods including the blue period, pink period, cubist period, surrealist period, and expressionist period. He painted over 2,000 paintings that are now housed in museums across Europe. Some of his most famous works include Guernica, which depicted the bombing of Guernica by Germany; Two Sisters, which portrayed beggars and used a mainly blue color palette; and The Three Musicians, showing a clarinetist, guitarist, and monk performing with a dog at their feet.
