A group of students are taken on a camping trip in the woods by their teacher. At night, some of the students sneak out a Ouija board to use. During the session, an evil spirit seems to make contact but the students think it's a joke. However, one student gets scared and breaks the board without saying goodbye. This allows the spirit to enter the real world and haunt the students. The protagonist aims to keep everyone safe as the spirit torments them in the woods overnight until they can escape.
2. Who are the
main
characters?
• Ollie Beard-(teacher) he takes the students to
the woods for their field trip and plans on picking
them up the next morning.
• Jack Dobson-(student) the brave, smart
character who helps the rest of the characters
get through the night whilst getting haunted by
the evil spirit.
• Hayley Haughton-(student) Fearless character
who is also brave but slightly ignorant .
• Aoife McDonagh-(student) Frightened character
who didn’t want to take part in the Ouija game
but was pressured into and ended up breaking
the board before they could say goodbye
• Dylan Popplewell-(student) He brings the Ouija

3. What is the
storyline
and the
genre?
There is a school trip to the woods to go camping and one of
the students sneak in a Ouija board. The teacher drops off the
students in the woods. As it starts getting darker the students
decided to start using the Ouija board. During this Ouija board
session, there seems to be a spirit present but they just think
it’s a joke. However, one of the characters get too scared and
takes the Ouija board and breaks it, before realising that one
of the most important rules of the Ouija board is to say
goodbye otherwise the spirit can access the real world. This is
the end of the opening scene, but during the rest of the film
the characters have to overcome a lot of obstacles as the evil
spirit taunts them all night because they have no way of
getting home.
We chose the genre to be horror because we feel that it
attracts our target audience the most.
4. When do
the events
take place?
• The trip is set on Friday 13th (present time).
This is because it is commonly known as an
unlucky day, which gives a scarier and more
intriguing affect.
• We chose to do modern day to make it more
relatable for the audience and it will build
tension and it will also make the audience
sympathise with the characters when they
start getting scared because of the
circumstances.
5. Where is the
location of
the movie?
• The movie is set in the woods because the
woods is a convention of horror movies
because films are usually set in the woods or
an element similar. Also, because the woods
can be quite unpredictable and give a
frightening feeling.
6. What is the
aim of the
protagonist?
• We chose to have one of the quiet
characters to be the hero of our film
pitch because she will be the one with
the most sense and tells everyone that
she thinks it’s a bad idea to bring the
ouija board with them but no one
listens. she is the only one that has ever
had experience with the ouija board and
she knows how bad the consequences
of using a ouija board can be.
• We have used teenagers because it
makes them more vulnerable to the
situation but also because
stereotypically teenagers are more
carefree with their actions.
