Feedback was an essential part of the filmmaking process, as it helped the group improve their movie. The group received feedback on scenes, techniques, story elements, and ancillary products. Feedback improved lighting, sound quality, continuity, and more for several scenes. Questionnaires gathered feedback on the poster and magazine cover, which informed changes like separating logos, adjusting font sizes and colors, and improving angles. Overall, incorporating feedback from multiple sources helped strengthen all aspects of the project.

2. • Feedback was an incredibly essential part of our film making process.
• This was primarily as it gave us an idea of how to use our own
creative ideas in order to express articulate reflection.
• It became a big part for our group in helping us to develop and make
improvements to our movie.
• We got feedback for a number of different scenes.

3. • Throughout the entire production of the trailer, we recorded a lot of
the feedback that we were given and used it to our advantage.
• It was helpful in developing both the film making techniques as well
as helping us with story elements such as plot and character.
• We also gained feedback on the two ancillary products in the form of
our poster and magazine cover.

4. Ular
• We have received very positive feedback indeed regarding the character of Ular. Our target
audience has picked up on the hints given to them by Ular’s behaviour, costume, gesture and
posture that he is a Mephistophelian figure.
• Mephistopheles is the devil in the Faust legend to whom Faust sold his soul. In our film, the
character of Eve is tempted by what Ular has to offer and allows him to seduce her away from
Adam, her boyfriend, who cannot offer her the same luxuries in life. In the Faust legend,
Mephistopheles offers Faust material goods, power, luxury and magical properties in
exchange for his soul. Eve trades her innocence and peace of mind and that of her boyfriend
for the promise of money, material goods and exciting times. We have played with the idea
both of the serpent’s role in the Garden of Eden and Faustian legend.
• In order to signal this, we have used many aspects of costumes and props that have symbolic
codes evoking devilish qualities.

5. Audiences really
were taken by the
rings on Ular’s hands,
for example, which
have symbols of
skulls. These hellish
symbols suggest the
dark side of Ular’s
personality and what
will inevitably befall
Eve if she carries on
down this path.
Similar props that the
audience noticed and
liked included the
leather studded cuff
which has skulls and
chains.
Audiences commentated
appreciatively on Ular’s
costume of the thick fur
coat and animal print hat.
Not only is the fur coat a
very flamboyant , showy
style of dressing, but being
animal print, it points
towards Ular’s bestial side.
In other words, rather than
being on the side of the
angels, he is on the side of
the beasts.
Equally, audiences praised
the use of shades which
suggested to them that Ular
had secrets to hide.

6. Before feedback: moving in scene
• We were criticized on the poor sound quality as there was a lot of interference
with the wind.
• You could also see the reflection of the camera in Ular's sunglasses.
• Criticized on the fake moustache as it both looked fake and was seen as
somewhat off putting.

7. After Feedback: moving in scene
• Put a microphone on the camera and we used this for every scene afterwards
• Shot the scene from a slightly different angle in order to get this
• Removed the moustache for all future scenes.

8. Before feedback: dinner scene
• The lighting was criticized as the scene looked too dark
• The camera was unable to focus on the subject as a result of the
lighting.
• Some continuity errors such as the fact that Ular had the “cane” in
one shot but then didn’t have it in the next shot

9. After feedback: dinner scene
• turned up the dimmer switches in order for the lighting to be better
• Made changes to the focus settings for it to get better.
• Checked all the shots to make sure the continuity added up.

10. Before feedback: strawberry
• The lighting was uneven with the rest of the scene
• The actress playing Eve wasn’t wearing lip gloss which made the
scene look less seductive.
• Was also at the wrong angle, making it difficult for the actor playing
Ular to work around the camera.

11. After feedback: strawberry
• The lighting was much improved for the scene
• Camera angle was also retaken in order to get a better shot for the
scene, making easier for Ular to work around the camera.
• Did more takes, meaning that the scene looked more seductive
• Greater time was taken on this scene, meaning that the actors were
able to understand what they actually had to do.

12. Before feedback: poster
• During the initial poster shoot, the legs of Adam and Eve were partially cut off.
• This would've been off putting as the characters are meant to be suspended in a black
background. As a result, it would've looked odd having them suspended in midair.
• Also the characters didn't look scared enough so I also had to reshoot the photo because of that. I
also was told to change the font on the poster in order to make it look less standard

• In order to get feedback from other sources, I decided to create a questionnaire
• This included on where to improve on aspects such as font and colour
• Here is one that was filled out by a friend

• Tagline was at the side and the font for the title was a little too small.
• Also, the social media logos were also too close together with little to
no space between them.

15. After feedback: poster
• I changed the location of the shoot as I was not a
fan of the black curtain background that had
been presented previously.
• I also managed to include the actors feet this
time.
• Ultimately, this shoot was better as it gave the
poster a much more claustrophobic environment.

16. After feedback: poster (continued)
• I separated out the social media logos in order to make it better.
• I made the title higher so I could put the tagline below it.
• This was so the central point of visual interest will be in a somewhat Z
shape, allowing for the eye to follow what was actually on the poster.

17. Before Feedback: magazine cover
• Pictures were taken at the wrong angle, making it difficult for me to
crop the actors into the magazine cover.
• Pictures were in colour, so it didn’t fit the black and white colour of
the picture from Paradise Lost
• Font colour didn’t look good against the black and white background,
making it hard to read.

18. Magazine questionnaire
• Much like the poster, I also created a magazine questionnaire to be
filled out

19. After feedback: magazine cover
• I retook the photos in order for them to be easily “Photoshoped”.
• In Windows Photo Editor, I adjusted the settings of the new photos in order for
them to be in black and white.
• Font changed in Photoshop so it would look better against the black and white
background, making it easier to read.
