• You see that the character is running on the treadmill which gives the audience an insight into his life and
what sort of person he is.
• We can see that the character like to keep his body in shape and as this is the beginning of the title
sequence we can assume that he starts off his day by doing this everyday, so we can see that the
character has a solid routine which says a lot about his character.
3. • This shot is effectively the establishing shot because it is showing the audience where the
character is.
• This shot shows the audience the scale of our characters solidarity.
• Although there is a lot of concentrated light, the sky is black showing that the character is all
alone.
4. • In this shot we can see that the character is doing a particularly dangerous job as he has to use special
equipment, this will give the film a thrilling sense because the audience will have a certain sense of
paranoia.
• Through the equipment that the character is using we can see that he is a professional man who has to
be professional.
• The spacesuit is also quite warn so this gives the audience that the character is a practical worker and has
been working for a long time.
5. • Once again the audience is being shown how alone this sole character as you, these
repetitive shots of solidarity show a lot of what the film is about and what the character has
to go through.
• Out there in the dark you can also see a lot of the dangers that are out there in the terms of
the huge moon craters. This shows the audience that something could go wrong at any point.
