• Definition- Comply with requirements for safe
equipment. For training staff and using
equipment to ass and control risks.
• Example- If there are stunts, health and
safety is needed, trained professionals and
people who can carry out work safely. Risks
need to be assessed (electrical equipment,
etc…)
3. Equal Opportunities
• Definition- Body of law which legistates
predudice based actions in the work
place. Eg. Age, gender, disibility,
religion.
• Example- Racial descrimination, by
tesco who locked prayer room.
4. Employment Equality (age)
Regulations
• Definition - Prohibits employers
unreasonably discriminating against
employees on the grounds of age.
• Examples - Retirement age = 65
- Min part time work = 13 years
- Min wage = £3.72
5. Employers Liability
• Definition- insurance employers should
take out which is compulsory in case of
injury.
• Example- illness, injury or death caused
by workplace.
6. Employee Rights
• Definition- All rights allowing fair
workplace contracts and conditions,
every body is entitled.
• Example - Wage, Holidays, Leave
(parental, TU, Maternity),
Compensation, dismissal
7. Trade Union
• Definition- An organised association of
workers in a trade, a group of trades, or
profession, formed to protect and
further their rights and interests.
• Example- Tube workers don’t feel they
are getting paid enough, they would go
on strike.
