2. Health and Safety
• All workers are entitled to work in environments where risks
to their health and safety are properly controlled. Under
health and safety law, the primary responsibility for this is
down to employers. Employers have a duty to consult with
their employees, or their representatives, on health and
safety matters.
• Example; check if all wires are hidden, and all lighting is safe.
4. Employment Equality (Age)
Regulations
• Prohibits employers unreasonably
discriminating against employees on
the grounds of age.
• For example; Retirement age = 65.
5. Employers Liability
• Compulsory insurance that protects an
employer in case of injury or death at
work.
• For example; on a film set, if someone
was injured you would need insurance.
6. Employer Rights
• All rights allowing fair work place
conditions and contracts.
• For example; wages, holidays..ect.
7. Trade Union
• Organized association of workers in a
trade, group of trades or profession
formed to protect rights and interests.
