INTRODUCTION
Endless praises be with Allah, the Supreme Rabb of the worlds, who bestowed this service to this impuissant and poor servant of Him!
May our Rabb support and help the people who are friendly and helpful to others, like the support He gave His messenger Mohammed and his acquaintances when they were trying to expand Allah’s religion during their lives.
Dear valuable readers!
Our Rabb acknowledged it as a debt of Him to send down (Hud/6) blessings, messenger, and scripture and to show the righteous path like He assumed to provide subsistence as required by His being Rahman and Rahim (En'am/12, 54, Al-Layl/12, Nahl/9). Hence, He sent down a scripture and a messenger to rescue the humanity from the quagmire of cruelty and disorder and ensure justice, balance, security, and happiness.
Rahman Allah did not give up bestowing admonitions to His servants as they acted in ungratefulness and disrespect and failed to pull themselves together and sent them warning messages. If such insistence were in the relations among the human beings, then they would give up saying, “Let them do whatever they want!” However, Our Rabb did not do so and continued to warn His servants who were over the line. Our Rabb stated in many verses that He did not neglect His servants as required by His grace (An-Nahl /9, An-Nisa/163-165, Al-Maidah /19, Fatir/42-43, En‘am/155-157, Al-Anfal/42, Al-Isra /15, Yunus/47, Az-Zukhruf /5, Al-Bayyinah /1).
In this implementation, Allah gave the humans the message, “Do you think that you will be left alone, together with anyone you wish? No, no! We are not leaving you alone. We will tenaciously exhibit you that which you are to believe and do. And then We will bring you to account about them.”

1- SURAH AL-ALAQ (THE EMBRYO)
MECCAN PERIOD
Division: 11
1-2 Learn-teach!3 In the name of your Rabb [the Lord, the Cherisher, the
Nurturer, the Sustainer]2; who created man from an embryo
3-5 Learn-teach!
Your Rabb [the Lord, the Cherisher, the Nurturer, the Sustainer] is superior to
those who proclaim themselves supreme. It is your Rabb [the Lord, the Cherisher,
the Nurturer, the Sustainer] who taught by the pen [an allegory of science and
education]. 4He taught man what he knew not.
(1/96, Al-Alaq/1-5)
Division: 25
6-8Certainly not as you think! Notwithstanding your Rabb [the Lord, the
Cherisher, the Nurturer, the Sustainer] is the final destiny, indeed, man transgresses
when he sees himself self-sufficient. 9-10Have you ever seen the one who forbids a
votary when he turns to Salat?6 [support others financially and spiritually; strive to
enlighten the community]. 11-12Have you ever thought, if that praying votary follows
the right path or commands the taqwa!... [being under protection of Allah]7 13Have
you ever thought, if the one who forbids the Salat denies and turns away!... 14Does
he who forbids the prayer know that Allah does see?
(1/96, Al-Alaq/6-14)
Division: 3
15-16Certainly not as you think! If the one who forbids the votary who prays;
supports financially and spiritually; strives to enlighten the community does not
desist to forbid praying; supporting financially and spiritually; enlightening the
community, indeed, we will drag him by the forelock; the liar, sinful forelock, his
hair. 17Then, let him gather his council/associates. 18We will gather angels of
Jahannah [Hell]; repellants, inhibiters.
19Certainly not as you think! Do not obey the one who forbids the votary from
Salat [Support others financially and spiritually; strive to enlighten the community];
supporting financially and spiritually; striving to enlighten the community. Prostrate
and surrender to your Rabb [the Lord, the Cherisher, the Nurturer, the Sustainer]; let

yourself/your Rabb [the Lord, the Cherisher, the Nurturer, the Sustainer] will take
you close to Himself.
(1/96, Al-Alaq/15-19)
1 When freedom is taken away and the human dignity is broken, deities and rabbs (a
god that masters, nurtures, sustains, etc.) are fabricated and when shirk [associating others with
Allah], injustice, wrongful deeds and chaos spread on the earth and the balance of the nature is
disturbed, Allah sends a messenger and reveals a book due to His merciful character. Allah takes His
mercy as His debt to pay. So, Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) was chosen as the Messenger in Mecca and the
Message of Allah was revealed to him.
2 Rabb means “The One Who disciplines and educates, one who guides his creations to
a certain target/targets within the frame of a schedule, one who programs and manages the
development”. This word, in absolute terms, is used for Allah alone. As to humans, it is used in such
forms as “the rabb of the house”, “the rabb of the workplace”, etc. The English term closest to this
term in the context of meaning is “master” that is borrowed from French. While having a meaning
close to rabb, this word does not cover the meaning of rabb entirely as it is used only in the
commercial context. For this reason, since we did not have the possibility to explain the term rabb
with multiple words, we had to leave it in its original Arabic form. Therefore, our readers should keep
the abovementioned definition in their minds.
3 This command was given directly to the Prophet, so it does not concern others. The
term iqra, which we translated as “learn-teach!”, is generally translated in interpretations (the
message transfer of the Qur’an into the target language without degenerating its artistic value and
emphasis) and tafsirs (the research of the Qur’an thoroughly and its explanation in detail) of the
Qur’an as “recite”. What meant here is not the activity of reading a book or a text. One can also recite
when alone. The literal meaning of the word is the imperative mood of the verb “collect knowledge
and distribute what you have learnt”. Therefore, what actually meant with the use of this word is
“learn-teach”. This is the essential duty of the prophets. The Messenger will later be informed about
what he will learn-teach (8/87, Al-A’la/1-13; Division 20). For this reason, we translated this word as
“learn-teach”.
4 With the expression, “the one who teaches with a pen”, as used in the Ayah, the
Messenger of Allah is given the direction to write down or have others write down the Ayat revealed
to him with – marks -; thus ensuring that the Ayat are preserved.
5 When becomes wealthy, man takes on Allah and transgresses thinking what he does
will not be punished; he pretends to be Allah, becomes irresponsible.
6 Except its literal meaning, the word Salat has always been translated and interpreted
as the “daily prayer”. The literal meaning of Salat is “to support, to help, to share one’s burden; to
assume the liability for solution and to backup”. The term “As-Salat” as mentioned in the Qur’an,
evolved into a proper name that means “to support financially and spiritually, to undertake the
liability for solution”. The problems mentioned here are not only personal problems but also are such
social issues as education and training, economic and political matters, etc. In short, Salat is the
foundation and the symbol of the social nation. The term “As -Salat”, as used in our interpretation,
(the message transfer of the Qur’an into the target language without degenerating its artistic value and

emphasis) is used both in its original Arabic meaning and also as used in English. The English use of
the word “Salat” is detailed in our work, “Tabyeen-al-Qur’an [Manifestation of the Qur’an]”.
7 Taqwa is an Islamic word that means “submitting oneself under protection of Allah
and embrace the righteous deeds, avoid committing sin thus evade the harmand the punishment that
one may suffer on the day of judgment”. It was first mentioned in the Qur’an in the meaning of
“refraining from shirk [associating others with Allah]” and “to believe the Akhirat”, has then been
expanded to cover all actions that reflect faith. Therefore, we used the term “taqwa” as “submitting
oneself under the protection of Allah” and the term“muttaqi” as “the one who submits himself under
the protection of Allah”.
