When I started off as a college student, I always asked people what I could do to increase my
chances of finding a job right after college. Often times, I found that the only advice they would
offer me was to have a couple of internships under my belt. Now, I'll admit I was always entirely
turned off by this idea. I wanted to get advice that would help me sneak my way to the top without
having to do an internship. Mainly because as a broke college student I wanted to find a job where I
would get paid, not a non–paid internship where I would deliver coffee to a snobby boss who was

actionable feedback from the feedback I received. The feedback I received was that my essay
needed more clarification, I choose to use this feedback to help make my argument more developed,
I wanted to create a better thought out essay and I worked on the clarification of my argument as

readers to not only agree with your side of the argument but to see what and why you are arguing

was not central and a little vague. I worked on trying to help my readers understand what and why
I was arguing my side of the argument. I had to think about who was reading my essay and this
helped. What I could have done differently is choose a more central argument, I believe it would

Competitive sports
Do you have a passion, something you love to do more than anything? Imagine people trying to
stop you from doing what you love because they think it's not useful or a waste. Some people say
competitive sports cost too much and they are way too dangerous for young kids to participate in.
However, for many youth, competitive sports play a positive role. When kids play competitive
sports, they are happier and they learn how to be healthy. Also, they learn life lessons that they will
need for the future.
One thing that is a positive outcome in sports is the overflowing happiness people get when they
participate in competitive sports. One example is that "children who were involved in sports
were more assertive, had greater confidence in their skills and physical appearance, and reported
more positive feelings than those who didn't participate. (Merkal, Donna, Youth sport: positive
and negative impact on young athletes, 201, May 31)." If children hold an extreme love for the
sport they play, most children use that sport as an escape. Playing sports blows off steam and
helps people relax. "Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you
feeling happier and more relaxed. (Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research
,Exercise: 7 benefits of regular physical activity, 1998)." Playing sports can help bring families or
other kids together to build strong bonds. "It appears that US children are healthy and happy as
they engage in this traditional pastime, and families report higher levels of satisfaction if their

make friends?, 2009)." A pat on the back from a parental figure is enough to keep kids going and
doing their best. Because sports make children happier, they are more prone to keep playing which
all in all makes children happier and it teaches kids to do what makes them happy. With suicide
being the second biggest fatality for adolescents doing what makes them happy can be a life or death
situation.
Correspondingly, fitness is a huge plus side of competitive sports. Diabetes is affecting around 8.6%

What are you going to be when you grow up? The go–to inquiry of almost every adult in a child's
life. It is asked almost in a whimsical way in the first few years; often met with innocently
ambitious responses such as an astronaut or a deep sea diver. With most kids, myself included,
the answer changed several times throughout grade school. My starry eyed dreams of becoming an
archeologist soon shifted to architect, and then to wilderness firefighter, then soldier, policeman,
engineer, and so on. I could be anything i could dream up in this world and i had forever to
decide. However, there comes a point in every teenager's life where the question of the future starts
to scare you. This distant future is now becoming a very real thing that needs to be figured out and
planned, because it's almost time to make that next step. I've always heard it said that high school
will be the quickest four years of your life. I had no idea just how fast until it was time for me to
start preparing for the real world. Over the past two years, i've really done some "soul searching"
so to speak, and I believe that i've found out what i'm going to do for the rest of my life. Now i
know that whatever teacher got selected to read through the stacks of senior essays that contained
my piece is probably laughing at that last bit. If only i knew right? But just hear me out. My goal is
to become a pilot for the United States Marine Corps. From a very young age, the idea of flight has
fascinated me.
