Six Shooter Drama
Sound has been used in this
short film to highlight the
genre which is drama. For
example the doctor saying to
the man “I’m sorry Mr
McDonough, but your wife
has passed away”. This was
the first thing said in the film
which tells the audience it
could be filled with lots of
drama. In terms of mise en
scene the fact that there was
gun conveys there is going to
be some sort of drama.
The short film had loads of
drama in it with someone
being told there wife had
died to being stuck on a
train journey with a mouthy
Irish lad and then a women
jumping off a train and
committing suicide. There
was also plenty more
drama after it.
The film didn’t match the
typical conventions of a
drama film which usually
has a happy ending. Also
there may have been to
much drama and it was
hard for audience to
keep up with the reasons
for certain things
happening.
The most beautiful thing Drama
Sound has been used to
highlight the genre which is
drama. It has very sad music
at the start of the film which is
usually a way every drama
film starts. Also the editing
has been used to highlight
the fact the film is a drama,
for example they use
montage to show that the boy
is feeling alone and
depressed.
The story line was great
and there was lots of
drama included with there
being moments where the
boy who was the main
character would be upset
and depressed and then
there would be moments
where he would be happy.
The film had matched the
typical ending of a drama
which usually ends on a
happy note after all the
trouble they have been
through.
There isn’t a lot that
comes to mind when
thinking of how the short
film can be improved
however one thing that
does come to mind is
that they could of done a
fast forward in time and
seeing them maybe
getting married together
or something as we were
shown how they first met.

Peekers Horror
Sound is a key feature in the
short film that highlights the
genre of the film which is
horror. When there is
something about too happen
the music slows down and
the pitch of the music gets
higher and it helps create
tension within the audience.
The camera shots also play a
key apart, for example in this
film there is a point of view
shot from the wife looking
down the stairs at the two
men.
The film caused me too be
quite freaked out at what
was happening and the
sound adds to the tension
and it makes you question
what is going on.
The film could become a
lot more effective by
developing the start of
the film so the film isn’t
just set during that one
particular morning. If they
then added a few more
scenes that were filmed
during the night it could
of taken the film onto
another level in terms of
scaring the audience.
