well as socially
• PDHPE lessons are deemed as an important source of
education and knowledge to prevent this trend from
growing further

Development and Health)
• Decision making; Student learn appropriate decision
making techniques through behavioural rehearsal.
Making them examine possible options and
consequences of their decisions, to implement in real life
situations
• Self worth and respect for others; To achieve and overall
positive self identity and well-being, PDHPE classes
equip students with the knowledge and ability to identify
a range of emotions, and how these effect their thinking
and decision making. In turn, creating more awareness
and control over their own lives
5. Benefits of PE (Physical Education)
• Advocating physical activity; students should be
engaging in physical activity everyday, in order to
prevent a number of health risks as well as
enhancing self esteem and concentration levels.
• Development of Fundamental Movement Skills;
PDHPE games and physical activities provide the
students with an opportunity to be taught and
practice fundamental movement skills such as
throwing, catching and hopping, movements which
do not develop naturally without encouragement and
support
6. What can I do at home?
• Parents and family should be involved in all aspects
of the child’s school work, but can be actively
involved by applying what is taught into the home.
• Putting theory into practice is the best way for
students to understand and apply their knowledge
• Getting involved in healthy meal preparation or after
school sports activities, are all great possibilities
• PDHPE should not stop at the school gates, bring it
into your homes
