•It is part of the six key learning areas in the NSW Primary School
Curriculum
•It teaches students the tools to make healthy life choices
•Informs them of the correct decisions related to physical
activity
•Helps to develop positive attitudes towards healthy lifestyles
•It equips students with the information to make the correct
choices in school and out.
•Provides the foundation for a lifelong commitment to valuing
and leading a healthy lifestyle.

5. HOW is PDHPE used in schools?
PDHPE is broken up into 2 parts: PDH and PD
• PDH (Personal Development, Health)
involves helping students to keep informed about health and their personal development
Helps them to understand the changes happening with them and around them
Promotes correct lifestyle choices
• PE (Physical Education)
Involves students getting active
Shows students how they can get active and the different varieties of physical activity available to
them
Shows students to importance of physical activity
Promotes positive opinions about Physical Education
