OUR VISION
To truly be the Church on the hill with the CROSS,
reaching out to the Gem Valley and beyond to the whole
world. We believe all generations need the Gospel, and
have a special concern for the younger generations to
come to Christ, and to His Church. Hence, we will remain committed to effective ministry to all age groups;
but we will specifically strive to strengthen our ministry
to youth, as God grants us opportunity.

WORLD MISSION PRAYERS
PRAISES
An African village with 120 families held a meeting and decided to
send five religious leaders to the house of a Nazarene zone leader in
a nearby town. The elders gave him the message from the village
leadership, "We need to convert to (your) religion."
The Nazarene leader taught the elders for eight hours. They were
very impressed with the teachings in the Gospel of Mathew and returned to their village full of joy. The elders asked if the village could
send fifteen young men to learn from the Bible. The Nazarene leader
accepted the request. They cited the recent compassionate ministries
implemented in neighboring villages and the integrity of the Nazarene
community of faith as the main reason for deciding to convert.
We covet your prayers for this village, which does not have a single
known Christian in it…yet.
PRAY FOR
Mashangu (Harry) Maluleka, principal of the Nazarene Theological College (NTC) in Muldersdrift, South Africa, requests your
prayers. He said, “There is something we are doing that the enemy hates for NTC to continue to be the center of his attack.” On
October 7, 2013, strong winds blew the entire roof off of the men’s
hostel (dorm) during a spring storm. The room was filled with students and fortunately no one was injured. This incident follows the
break out of a large veld (brush) fire on the NTC campus on September 9. Students, employees, and neighbors were able to hold
back the flames until the arrival of firefighters. Please pray for
NTC. Pray for the faculty, staff and students who have faced
these difficult circumstances. Pray that God will bring forth resources and workers to replace the roof and to repair the damage
to the men’s hostel.
Monte and Bethany Cyr request prayer for Amy a student at Point
Loma and the beginning of a new school year. Robb, who is living
and working in Idaho, for God’s guidance and direction for future
plans. Bryan, a senior, with plans for attending university next
year. And Nkele to have good school year. Monte and Bethany
continue to lean Spanish and fulfill their missionary duties.
Our Friends at Emmett Church of the Nazarene, Please know
how deeply we appreciate your kindness in donating $250 to our
Fire Rebuilding Fund. It is a real encouragement to belong to the
family of God in Emmett! May the Lord richly bless you in return.
In Christ, Reverend Jonathon Philips
