OUR VISION
To truly be the Church on the hill with the CROSS,
reaching out to the Gem Valley and beyond to the whole
world. We believe all generations need the Gospel, and
have a special concern for the younger generations to
come to Christ, and to His Church. Hence, we will re-
main committed to effective ministry to all age groups;
but we will specifically strive to strengthen our ministry
to youth, as God grants us opportunity.

WORLD MISSION PRAYERS
PRAISES
We praise God that there were no injuries or loss of property after a
fire broke out at Nazarene Theological College in Muldersdrift, South
Africa. The school’s principal, Mashangu Maluleka, said, “In the words
of one fire fighter, 'This fire was very dangerous; had it not been be-
cause of the team effort of the students, buildings and property would
have been lost.' We commend our students for their dedication and
team work. Just a few months ago both faculty and students were
given training in basic fire fighting techniques and that came in handy
on the night of the fire.”
PRAY FOR
ď‚· Earlier this month, fighting broke out between opposing factions in
the Southern Philippines. On September 16, a Nazarene Disaster
Response (NDR) team was en route to a major area of conflict in
Zamboanga. Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM) has al-
ready shipped several boxes of medicine and the team will arrive
to follow up with trauma counseling as well as provide further as-
sessment for how NCM and the Church can best respond. While
there is not currently an active Church of the Nazarene in Zambo-
anga City, there has been a Nazarene Church there in years past
and many Nazarenes from the area have families in Zamboanga.
Please continue to pray for the safety of the team as they travel to
Zamboanga City, and for the relief efforts as they reach out to so
many who have been affected by this ongoing conflict.
ď‚· Last week, officials called in Nazarene leaders in a creative ac-
cess area. After the meeting, where the government personnel
asked many questions, one of the leaders shared that he still
does not know why security police called for the meeting. Please
pray for the individuals involved in the meeting, that the witness
for Christ was evident and that only good will come out of the
situation. Pray for protection for Nazarene workers in this area
and all areas where sharing about faith in Christ can be danger-
ous.
