As we move further and further into a more technological age, lines begin to blur between where
tech savvyness ends and where being a Geek begins. I have been working with computers since I
was 8 years old. I remember the good old days where I would sit there with my dad watching him
play Zork for hours on end. In fact that game is one of the reasons I started writing. This was in the
mid to late 80 's and the machines had no hard drives and ran completely off of 5 & 1/4 inch floppy
disk 's. This was all fun and games, but I didn 't learn much from the experience. I did however learn
to maneuver through the DOS operating system as well as how to execute programs. My real
experience didn 't start till around June of 1992. I live in the San Bernardino California area. If you
know any history of the area, in June 1992 there was a massive 7.3 earthquake that shook San
Bernardino quite harshly. Shopping malls all around the area had the roofs cave in. This was a great
tragedy but for us a great learning experience. Because of the earthquake the malls were forced to
send all of their computer equipment to the land–fills for insurance purposes, wither they were
damaged or not. This is where my real experience started. My father brought home three PC 's that
looked more like junk than computers. With a bit of elbow grease we were able to salvage parts

Cache
Cache located between CPU and RAM. It is a high–speed memory that accelerates CPU to
exchange information from RAM (Shelly, et al, 2008). Cache works in a frequently accessible files
and programs in the computer so it can be processed in shorter time. For example, a secretary's
computer which used for typing a lot will have its word–processing program opened faster than the
other staffs' computer.
Secondary storage * Stokes (2008) states that secondary storage is used for saving files and
information in the matter of capacity. When programs are installed into the computer or files are
inserted, secondary memory is the place where all the stuffs are put into. It gives information about
how much computer can store data in its system. Files, programs, and other stuffs that put in
secondary storage are saved permanently in the system. So, when the computer is off, the stuffs will
stay at the same state and condition without having any lost parts.

The Olympic Games During The Great City Of Olympia
The Greek Olympics were an ancient tradition that originated in the year 776 BCE. The sporting
events occurred every four years in the great city of Olympia. The purpose of the Olympics was to
entertain and to impress the gods with their physical ability and prowess. For five days, citizens
throughout the empire would coalesce in Olympia to witness the multitude of athletic contests.
Entire stadiums and colossal temples were constructed for specific events. Wars and conflicts were
postponed so that nothing could interfere with the religious event. At first, the Olympic games
consisted only of simple sprinting events. Over time, more complex events like wrestling, chariot

Other running events included a two stade race and the dolichos, which was a long distance race
which consisted of seven to twenty–four stades. One of the most demanding events was the
hoplitodromos. Starting in 520 BCE, the hoplitodromos was a two stade race that required all
athletes wear a full set of fifty–pound armor (Origin and History of the Olympic Games).
Participants were also required to carry a very heavy shield while they completed the race. The
hoplitodromos was also a useful military training activity.
Two events that were arguably more grueling than the hoplitodromos were wrestling and pankration.
The objective of Greek wrestling was to touch the opponent 's shoulders to the ground. This was
usually accomplished by tackling and pinning the other wrestler. Although the event was somewhat
barbaric, there was one strongly enforced rule, wrestlers were never allowed to punch or kick each
other (Nardo 46). Violators of this rule were punished by the judges of the event. Participants
covered themselves in a massive amount of olive oil so that it was more difficult to be pinned by
competitors. Pankration was a primitive combination of wrestling and boxing. In order to win the
opponent had to be either knocked out or give up by admitting defeat. Athletes would cover their
knuckles with leather and metal so that they could cause more pain to their competitors. It was
common for athletes to lose their lives while competing in the pankration.

The are many types and sizes of a computer. The two main sizes are:
Desktop
Portable (e.g laptops, notebooks) Computer consists of two mayor elements: HARDWARE AND
SOFTWARE
Hardware:
Computer hardware is any components you can physically touch. Examples of hardware in a
computer are the keyboard, monitor, mouse and the CPU. Hardware is directed by the software to
execute any command or instruction. A combination of software and hardware form a usable
computing system.
CPU (Central Processing Unit):
"brain of the computer"
CPU is the computer component that's responsible for interpreting and executing most of the
commands from the computer's hardware and software. It is located on the motherboard.
The clock speed of a processor is number of calculations it can perform in a second, measured in
gigahertz (GHz). The higher the speed, the more calculations it can perform so it makes the
computer faster. These are the types of processor:
Intel Processors: dual core, i3, i5, i7 (Intel includes Celeron, Pentium and Core)
AMD Processors: A4, A6, A8, A10 (AMD includes Sempron, Athlon and Phenom)
The world's first CPU was introduced by Intel in 1971, the Intel 4004 which was a 4–bit CPU. All
types of devices use a CPU including desktop, laptop and tablet computers, smartphones.
Intel, AMD, Apple, NVIDIA and Qualcomm are the most popular
CPU manufacturers.
