2. Lina Kostenko
(* March 19, 1930, Rzhishchev, Kiev) - Ukrainian writer-
shistdesyatnytsya, poet. Mother Oksana Pachlowska.
Shevchenko Prize winner (1987), Antonovych Prize (1989),
Petrarch Prize (1994). In Soviet times, has been active in
the dissident movement, for which he was permanently
excluded from the literary process. Author of poetry "On the
Banks of the Eternal River" (1977), "Originality" (1980),
"Garden of Unthawed Sculptures" (1987), a novel in verse
"Mary Churai" (1979, Shevchenko Prize 1987), the poem
"Berestechko" (1999 , 2010). 2010 published the first prose
novel "Notes Ukrainian Lunatic" which was one of the best-
selling Ukrainian books in 2011. Honorary Professor of Kyiv
Mohyla Academy, an honorary doctor of Lviv and Chernivtsi
University.

3. childhood

After high school she studied at the
Kiev Pedagogical Institute, and later
- in Moscow Literary Institute named
after Gorky, who graduated in 1956.
4. "Sixties"
It was one of the first and nayprymitnishyh in the galaxy of young Ukrainian poets who were
on the verge of 1950-1960's. Of the so-called "Sixties" created a new style in Ukrainian
literature, forced to do something new, atypical, something avant-garde, but as always, the
most cruel and critical of the government and the then regime. Collections of poems "Rays of
the Earth" (1957) and "Sails" (1958) attracted interest readers and critics, and a collection of
"Journey Heart" (1961) not only consolidated success, but showed real artistic maturity poet,

During these years poems L.Kostenko journals published in Czechoslovakia, newspapers in

6. New Age
The poem "Berestechko" with illustrations by George
Yakutovych, published "Lybid" in 2010, had a total
