Wall-E Film Analysis
The film Wall–E shows examples of hope and love and on top of that it is like a modern day take on
some stories from the Bible. Stories from the Bible have been around for a long time and stories like
Adam and Eve and Noah's Ark are reflected in the film Wall–E. One being how the axiom is like the
ark from the story of Noah's ark, and Eve is like the dove with the olive branch from the story of
Noah's ark, and in the film Wall–E the main character Wall–E was lonely before EVE came to earth,
just like Adam was in the bible before God provided Eve.
T Firstly an example of how the film Wall–E shows biblical references, is how the Axiom is like the
ark from the story of Noah's ark.
E The Axiom is like the ark because the ark is the vessel that Noah builds so that God can save
humanity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
T thirdly another biblical reference that shows hope and love is that Wall–E is lonely just like Adam
was in the bible before eve came
E in the film Wall–E is lonely because he is all by himself and in the bible Adam is lonely also so
God provides Adam with Eve so that he can love her and he won't be lonely and Wall–E meets EVE
so then he isnt lonely and he falls in love with EVE so it's almost the same as the story from the
bible in the bible at Gen 2:22 it says "Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken
out of the man, and he brought her to the man." God did this so that Adam would have someone to
love and he wouldn't be lonely Wall–E is lonely also and then he meets EVE
E God gives Adam Eve so he can love and wall–e also loves EVE because he had never seen
anything like her he would have hoped for someone to love and then EVE came and he wanted to
hold her hand straight away the bible says "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not
boast, it is not proud." this is how Wall–E and Adam are similar.

WALL-E the Movie
WALL– E is an animated Disney Pixar movie about the future of our planet, Earth. The opening
scene is a futuristic reality of our planet becoming a waste–covered landfill. WALL–E is a robot that
is designed to clean up the mess and pollution humans have made throughout the decades. This
movie is not only child friendly, but also is recognized as a critique on today's society. Although the
movie strictly focuses on the robot WALL–E and his love interest with the high–tech robot Eve, the
audience is still able to understand the true meaning behind the critically acclaimed movie. The
animated film portrays a futuristic reality of the implications of today's society. In today's modern
society, consumerism is an everyday fact of living. Society is constantly encourage to purchase
goods and services to the point where there is no longer a realization of the influence companies
have on people's daily lives. The movie has left the audience to question how society could lead the
planet to such a state where it is virtually uninhabitable by humans. The film is "an exaggerated
extension of our consumer–driven lifestyle whereby convenience and complacency have supplanted
personal liberty" (Krier, 2008). A consumer–driven lifestyle can be seen in the movie through the
use of clever depictions of Buy–N–Large in the film, however overconsumption is also a part of
many cultures today, including the United States. The film depicts that humans have made the planet
uninhabitable through

What Is WALL-E?
WALL–E is a Disney film about a robot who is trying to save a planet that is full of trash and waste.
WALL–E, the robot, feels like he is put on the planet for a reason, and that reason is to help people
and make the world a better and cleaner place. Then another robot, named Eve, comes down from a
spaceship. WALL–E then ends up falling in love with her and follows her wherever she goes to
make sure that she is okay and safe.
Through the film I noticed that WALL–E is very unselfish. I noticed this because he is very nice to
everyone and tries to help everyone around him as much as he can. He likes to pick up trash and
clean everything around him also. He collects everything that looks important to him and keeps it in
his little garage home.

Science in Wall–E Introduction Imagine the Earth with trash piled as tall as skyscrapers, and the
only sign of life is what the people left behind. What the people left are Wall–Es to compact trash
and to essentially clean up the planet. 700 years later, one Wall–E is left with no company except a

eyes on her, he falls in love with EVE. Wall–E follows her around, shows EVE his collection
including a plant he found earlier, and protects her when EVE was unresponsive. Then, the ship

Satire In Wall-E
People often write off animated films as childish and lacking any depth. However, the movie, Wall–
E, points a large microscope at our society and our potential future. In the movie Wall–E, it's a robot
name Wall–E and Ben Burtt's play' him. Also, there are other characters is Eve and Elissa Knight
play's her. There's a that they go on because the planet earth doesn't have a living plant except one.
They have to place the plant in the place that the plant will go so they can get to earth. The Captain
is played by Jeff Garlin and, the Captain had a hard time to get the plant into the deposit that it's
supposed to go in. Satire is used for humor and poke fun at a thing that is happening like when the
place is in the chair they are too lazy to get up and do their own things. Also, they have the robots
bring them the food. It pokes fun at humans because humans are lazy and us humans what other
people or robots to get are things cause the humans made robots so people wouldn't have to get up.
They also wanted to show what happens to the earth if we don't take care of it and, it will turn all to
trash and doesn't look like a nice place to live. The director Andrew Stanton used the movie, Wall–E,
and satire as a way to criticize and comment on technology and environment in our society.

WALL–E is a robot who was left on Earth when it was too polluted for even people to live on it.
Only one was left, and his everyday job is to go around and get trash off the ground to build these
towards that look like buildings. His reason for doing this is to clean up the Earth, hopefully making
it safe for humans to emigrate back to Earth. One day, WALL–E is out and about just doing his job,
and he sees a red dot. Of course, he goes and follows it. It ends up leading him to a ship that came
down from space, and Eve pops out. Eve, a robot sent from Earth to see if there is any plant life still
on Earth. WALL–E and Eve end up becoming great friends, so great of friends that they fall in love.
WALL–E is a very caring robot.

The Dystopian In The Film Wall-E.
Wall–E is a 2008 American computer–animated dystopian comic science fiction comedy film
directed and co–written by Andrew Stanton, produced by Jim Morris. Many of the characters in
Wall–E do not speak instead communicate with body language and robotic sounds. The film
criticizes consumerism, corporatism, waste management, human environmental impact and
concerns, obesity, and global catastrophic risk. Wall–E is a children's film with a surprisingly
political twist if watched and understood by adults. The film is set in the year 2805, Earth has been
abandoned and largely contaminated with garbage, with its people evacuated by megacorporation
Buy–N–Large on giant star–liners. BnL has left behind Wall–E, who is a robot that is supposed to
compact trash to clean up Earth. However, all the Wall–E's have stopped functioning, except one
unit who has gained sentience and is able to stay active using parts from other units. One day, Wall–
E discovers a healthy seeding, which he returns to his home. Later, an unmanned spaceship lands
and deploys an Eve probe to scan the planet. Wall–E is infatuated with Eve, ... Show more content

after the corporation concluded years earlier that the planted could not be saved. Auto tries to take

garbage shoot. Eve reactivates and helps Wall–E to bring the plant to the ship's Holo–Detector
chamber. Auto tries to close the chamber, crushing Wall–E when he struggles to keep it open. The
Captain McCrea is able to overcome and disable Auto, and Eve inserts the plant to activate the hyper
jump. Having arrived back on Earth, Eve repairs and reactivates Wall–E. Wall–E and Eve reunite as

Wall-E Urban Environment
The world of Wall–E filled with garbage as a result of mass consumerism could have been prevented
through the precautionary principle. As human population grows, more plastics and materials are
going to be used filling up landfills to their maximum capacity leaving the only option to fill natural
environments with pollution and waste products. Furthermore, Wall–E demonstrates the terrifying
truth about the growth of the human population with no room left for organic life to thrive and
businesses focusing to distract humans from the aesthetic justification.
Wall–E then continues to address other environmental issues as well. For example sustainability as
seen through the only small plant left on the polluted Earth after Buy 'n' Large as well as the
characters left Earth in starliners into space. Human interactions with the environment have caused
major shifts and changes within the environment affecting the way animals live as well as humans
live. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In these urban areas, natural gases such as carbon dioxide are released warming Earth even more
than before. Although these urban environments like megacities are creating lifestyles for humans to
live in, they are also creating climate changes and biodiversity affecting the environment in the
South Pole. Wall–E's environment portrays Earth as dry, dusty, lifeless and a smoggy atmosphere.
Through these observations, many can see the destruction that humanity has done to Earth
especially through companies like Buy 'n' Large. In addition, the fact that there is little to no water at
all on Earth in the film displays one of the effects of urban environments reducing the amount of
water while increasing the amount of droughts. Not to mention, urban areas also contain
concentrated energy areas which leads to the inference that these areas also have negative effects on
human and animal health, therefore causing the people in the film to

Examples Of Ecocriticism In Wall-E
In the writing of this paper the author uses Ecocriticism as the main theory and the movie Wall–E
(2008) by Pixar Animation Studios and directed by Andrew Stanton as the object of analysis. The
story follows a robot named Wall–E, who is designedto clean up an abandoned, waste–covered
Earth far in the future. The author feel interested and challenged to analyze further the learning
about the growing issue of Ecocriticism because of disharmony of nature with other elements in
nature itself.
When one element related do the mismatched with nature, the exploitation of nature for example,
then the balance of nature will be distracted and badly other life around it. With this background, the
writer directs the reader to use the perspective of Ecocriticism is related to the movie Wall–E to see
how natural, human and cultural interplay with one another.

The Movie Wall-E
To progress as a society, we must first look back at all the hardships faced throughout the years. We
must look at the world leaders who were able to convince entire countries to eliminate millions of
people different than themselves. We must understand the groups of extremists spreading terror and
fear across the globe, and we must control people in power abusing their positions to benefit
themselves and their agendas. Instead of ignoring these human mistakes, we must break them down
and figure out how they could happen. Artificial Intelligence relies on our abilities to learn from our
mistakes and mold our future in a way that will be beneficial and equal to all people. This paper will

Life with A.I. will be easier if used properly. Many tasks that people face today will become much
simpler and less time–consuming allowing for time to be spent more productively. Tasks such as
shopping and transportation will become automated for you. The average person will be able to
spend more time doing what they please rather than the tasks plagued with us today. The key to all
this however is ensuring that this new time be spent bettering society rather than becoming lazy and
unproductive such as what the movie Wall–E predicts happening. In Wall–E the ordinary citizen
spends their time in front of a monitor watching shows while technology does everything for them.
This too can happen in our future. A.I. must be developed to benefit all types of people. The
problem with creating such an effective machine is that one machine will be able to do the jobs of
several humans. As humans, we need to stay ahead of the game and prepare ourselves to work in
different fields in years to come. Jobs such as watering, fast food restaurants, golf caddies, and many
other simple yet required tasks will be overtaken by robots. These jobs will take away a lot of work
for the lower class, which is why it will become vital to attend colleges and universities to better
oneself and the skills one has in order to always be needed by society. The push for A.I. should go
hand in hand with the push for human

Wall-E versus Feed Essay
"Technological progress has merely provided us with more efficient means for going backwards"
("Brainy Quotes" 1). While this epitomizes modern time, it also represents M.T. Anderson's Feed
and Pixar's Wall–E. Feed is a book about a dystopian society influenced by a device, called "feed",
implanted in the brains of the citizens. The author describes a group of regular teenagers that venture
to the moon for a spring break vacation of partying and going "in mal". The main character, Titus,
falls for a girl named Violet who is not like the other stereotypical teens in this book. Violet received
the feed when she was much older and she is homeschooled so her brain is more developed.

He writes of an extreme point where the world needs air factories to live. While Violet is talking to
her father she realizes, "'the forest's gone.' 'Yeah. Jefferson Park?' 'Yeah. That was knocked down to
make an air factory'" (Anderson 125). The environment in Feed can't even produce air anymore so
the air is machine–made and fake. Similarly, the environment in Wall–E is also polluted; however,
the problem is more severe. The earth has been completely abandoned for 700 years and the
improvement of earth has been given into the hands of a garbage–collecting robot, Wall–E. All of
humanity moved to outer space to live in a ship controlled by robots and centered on technology.
The ads on the ship broadcast the advances of space stating that if there was "too much garbage in
your face" on earth, than there is "plenty of space out in space!" (Wall–E). In the futuristic book,
Feed, children are implanted with a "feed" that displays advertisements and controls all thoughts,
emotions, and memories. M.T. Anderson writes using satire of consumerism and deteriorates the
complexity in the main character, Titus's, language. Additionally, the characters are influenced by
the ads they see, "When we got off the ship, our feeds were going fugue with all the banners"
(Anderson 8). Not only is consumerism an aspect in Feed, but it is also found in Wall–E. When all
humans move to outer space, they adapt an easy lifestyle that includes

The Walls Of One Of His Last Achievements Lies Robert E. Lee
Lee Chapel
Between the walls of one of his last achievements lies Robert E. Lee. This final achievement would
leave lasting impressions on all those who stepped near the narrow brick building covered in ivy
mirroring the campus of Washington and Lee University. Robert E. Lee was a confederate civil war
veteran, who went on to make lasting changes to Washington and Lee University leaving a legacy in
a chapel that would later be named after him. The chapel survived not only through the history
occurring around it, but would also find itself tied to a growing southern community and into
controversies over civil rights.
Sixty years before the dedication of Lee Chapel, on January 19th, 1807 a boy named Robert E. Lee
was born into a wealthy Virginia family. Although his family did not stay wealthy most of his
childhood, it did not stop him in being successful. Robert E. Lee went on to attend WestPoint,
graduating second in his class, and fight in the Mexican War. After spending several years after the
Mexican War as the superintendent at WestPoint, he transitioned back into the military. Within
months of the breakout of the American Civil War in 1861, Robert E. Lee found himself promoted
to full general in the war (Staff). Robert E. Lee did not fully desire to fight for the confederate side
as he was not entirely committed to the Confederacy's pressing values (Lewis). However, he lead his
side leaving valiantly, becoming a hero in the eyes of the south. After the war ended Robert

Wall-E Film Techniques
Summary and Protagonist
Wall–e was directed by Andrew stanton and was released June 23 2008. In this film you meet a
goofy little robot named Wall–e. He lives on earth but not the version of earth we live on today. This
version of earth is infested with trash and no plant life. Wall–e was created as a trash collector and
has been left to clean up the mess us humans made.
Antagonist
The protagonist of Wall–e is the autopilot, Auto of the spaceship in which humans now live. He
looks like the wheel of a ship with a red light in the middle. Him being a machine, he is very
controlling and organized. Among that, he is also very intelligent as machines also are.

Language choice
In Wall–e, robots do not speak a language yet you still know exactly what is going on. Even though
Wall–e can not speak you can still tell that he loves Eve. This is just one example of the fact that
love has no boundaries.
Foreshadowing
Wall–e foreshadowed what could happen if us humans do not step up our game. It shows a
representation of what our world could become if we do not start caring for our environment before
we run out of time. It also shows where we could go if we don't detach from technology and if we
let it take over our lives.
Scenes that stand out
One of the scenes from Wall–e is the scene where it gives us an aerial view of what the planet earth
had come to look like. All you see is trash everywhere with no life to be seen. Another scene that
stands out to me is when we first see the humans aboard the ship. It just disgusts me how self
absorbed and unattached they are from the world. I would not want to live a life like that. The last
scene that comes to mind when i think of this film is when Wall–e is holding hands with Eve. I
know I said that love is like a deep dark hole but this scene really touches me because even though
they were robots they still found love in each

WALL–E Movie Review
Wall–e is an animated Pixar movie starring an adorable robot named WALL–E that roams the
inhabited Earth...700 years in the future. This film is not only great from an environmental
perspective but also from a perspective of a teenager. The animated characters are adorable and the
movie does a great job at creating a picture of the fact that the Earth doesn't last forever. The movie
starts off with WALL–E collecting materials around the widely polluted and trashed surface. There
are no humans here because the Earth became too dirty and trashed to live on. The earthlings left the
Earth in despair and now live on a space shuttle called "the Axiom". Will mankind survive...has the
IQ of the human race decreased too much to save the crumbling Earth?
This science fiction movie is certainly a futuristic environmental story in my opinion. The writers
and directors wrote this movie in order to wake up the people of the Earth and to tell us that we can't
go on much longer before our world spirals into a mess. Humans should stop polluting the Earth,
and this film was spreading awareness about this fact.

because they are being fed junk food every single day. The part I love about the movie is how they
still have great senses of humor. For example, when the captain stated, "look how they can grow
things out of the ground such as pizza", this was hilarious. Furthermore, the name of the corporation
that operates the Axiom is called the Buy n Large corporation (BNL). This corporation probably

Wall-E Critical Analysis
Wall–E and An Over Reliance on Technology
In the animated film Wall–E, a robot named Wall–E, designed to clean up Earth after humans
covered it in trash, stows away aboard the Axiom, a spaceship that departed Earth 700 years prior to
the start of the film. Once aboard the Axiom, Wall–E must convince the humans that the Earth can
now sustain and provide habitable conditions for human life once again. A large audience of all ages
enjoyed this animated film because of its lovable and fun characters, engaging story, and interesting
setting. Even though many families love Wall–E, the movie gives social commentary on several
issues, including the over reliance on technology, the consumerist nature of modern societies, and
the fear of ever–evolving machines.
In the opening of the movie, Wall–E watched VHS tapes and played video games made in the
1970's, and because of this, he learned how humans behaved and what they liked before they left on
the Axiom. He watched people in movies, singing and dancing and having an overall fun time.
Because of these things that Wall–E experienced, he thought of humans as active, happy, and social
people; however, when Wall–E arrived aboard the Axiom, his perception of humanity changed.
People sat in recliners floating a foot off the ground. Each chair had a personal computer and
monitor attached to it, allowing the operator to move, talk, and do almost anything, all while barely
moving a muscle. Most people shown in the movie did not know how to

Similarities Between Wall E And Wall-E
Quite possibly the worst way to judge WALL–E is as an archetypal animated or science–fiction
film. Directed by Pixar and animation industry veteran Andrew Stanton the movie has a story which
unravels with a poetic and emotional pull to rival any romantic–comedy since the turn of the
millenia.
Set on a futuristic earth, now completely desolate and transformed into a deserted wasteland, the
movie tells the story of a 700–year–old automaton and waste disposing machine, WALL–E, who
meets EVE – a vegetation and life searching robot.
Although multiple themes of religion, environmental conservation and friendship run deep through
the premise of the film; it is Stanton's unique twist on the "Beauty and the Geek" narrative that
ultimately resonates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bereft of dialogue; music was bound to play an integral part in WALL–E while soundtracks such as
Hello, Dolly which the titular character often listens to, and occasionally hums, succeed in casting a
smoke of nostalgia; they also serve as an anti–thesis to the ambience of the Axiom. While at the
spaceship audiences are treated to a more different and orchestra–like background score altogether
which not only establishes a leap into a more futuristic setting but also provides WALL–E and
EVE's blossoming romance with a cinematic appeal.
Throughout its 103 minute–long running time WALL–E manages to stay inventive in not only its
graphics but also its plot details. It serves as a warning of a desperate world in dire need of
rejuvenation. Although not as haunting in terms of realism in comparison to its Japanese
counterparts; WALL–E does hold out a mirror that allows the viewer to gape into the world of

Humans will be pushed to a new future: obesity, lazy, careless, and an increasing in respiratory and

garbage, no trees, plants, animals, etc. There is rarely any life on earth. People are ignoring their
surroundings, going nowhere in life because they stopped for watching technology. They aren't

Teens Should Be Banned From Smartphones In the movie WALL–E, everyone had been so
consumed by technology that they rode around on floating chairs sipping slushies and watching

would be detoured around them. As glued to screens as teens are now, it seems at least a bit likely
that humanity could end up like that. they think that they need their devices all the time, so when
issues occur, they will probably look for a way around it, like riding in chairs with a screen mounted
at just the right level so the neck does not have to be bent. Avoiding a world like in WALL–E is not

Wall E Analysis
Wall–e is an American computer–animated dystopian production in the adventurous,
romantic/comedy genre directed by Andrew Staton in 2008. In the distant future, a small waste–
collecting robot accidentally embarks on a space adventure that will ultimately decide the destiny of
humankind. The director uses colour/lighting and visual motifs to represent the environmental issues
and waste.
The opening scene of Wall–E is deep in outer space with the camera zooming in, angled high of an
extreme wide shot of the polluted wasteland known as Earth, with billions of artificial satellites
circling around it and is no indication of life whatsoever, as the surviving humans have evacuated
onto a giant spaceship called the Axiom. When the main protagonist ... Show more content on

When Wall–E finds the seedling in an old refrigerator the camera is in the fridge with a close up of
Wall–E's eyes with the plant on the right hand side and extremely blurry. The Closeup focuses
intensely on Wall–E's eyes to emphasises his emotions which are dazzled, curious and fascinated all
at the same as he has never seen anything like it. The plant is blurry because its alien like and
doesn't belong on earth. The director uses the idea of the green being restrictively used restrictively
as it develops hope and nurturing and green associates with meanings of growth, harmony, and the
environment. The plant is also a symbolises Earths's renewed sustainability, so the humans
eventually realise it is their job to protect and nurture it. This component is evidently seen when the
Captain realises that the people aboard the ship cannot just be lazy and have to start doing things.
The Captain asks the ships information system about what farming is as he feels as it is a human's
job to take care of such plants, and the earth itself. The humans return to save the environment at the
end of the movie as a result of their acknowledgement of their accountability for its protection. This
is when the film's plot stresses the importance of the plant's survival as well as the human's. As the
film progresses the seedling grows

Film Report On Wall-E
WALL–E Film Report In WALL–E, Planet Earth is covered with garbage due to all the consumption
of Buy N' Large product. It built up mountains of garbage, too dangerous to be inhabited, and
abandoned by mankind. They left robots on earth to fix the garbage situation while they went on a
five–year cruise in space. 700 years later, there is only one WALL–E robot left cleaning up. He
squeezed rubbish into cubes and built towers of garbage, tidying up the world little by little each
day. This robot has a unique personality, collects knickknacks, and he longed for a lover. EVE, a
robot, is sent to Earth on a search mission. WALL–E is intrigued by her and he shows her the object
that EVE is looking for, a living plant. EVE is sent back to the Axiom, the luxury cruise spaceship;
WALL–E following not far behind. On the Axiom, everyone is obese and glued to their floating
chairs and screens. There is no real communication or interaction except robots assisting humans'
daily needs. Now the plant that EVE supposedly has found on her mission is the sign of life on
earth. Captain B. McCrea, surprised and has no knowledge of Earth, is onboard with returning. But
AUTO, captain's robotic autopilot tries to stop the Axiom from going home by destroying the plant.
It's up to WALL–E, EVE, and other robots to save the plant and get it to the Holo–Detector
chamber, the key to go directly back to Earth. They were able to get the plant to the chamber and
head to home. With the help from WALL–E and

WALL–E is robot that is on planet Earth trying to clean up Earth for the humans to live back on
Earth. WALL–E also is a robot that puts trash in his stomach then compresses it to a block of trash.
The conflict is that WALL–E is the only robot on Earth cleaning up the trash; all the other robots
like WALL–E has broken down or died.
After all the years WALL–E has been lonely forever since the other robots died. A cockroach came
along and that was WALL–E's first friend. WALL–E got mad at the cockroach a lot but he could not

The Film Wall-E
The movie I watched was Wall–E. This movie takes place in the year 2810. The people of the
Axiom, live in space because the air on earth became too toxic for them to live in. According to the
movie, the air became too toxic in 2110. In this movie, then main issues are obesity and dealing with
air pollution on earth. Another main theme is that technology is improving and can take over our
lives. The film, however, was produced in 2008. In the years 2007 to 2008, the obesity rate as well
as the pollution rates were high.
I believe that this film is correct in being under the category of science fiction. In science fiction,
there is usually a science behind why there is an issue as well as something about technology in the
future. One of the issues is pollution. In the film, the earth is polluted so the humans have to go live
in space. The second is obesity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are pollution, obesity, and technology. He believes that pollution is going to become very bad
for a long period of time. Then, someone will realize what they are living in and want to change
what they can. Obesity is also a big issue. He promotes the issue by making everyone in the Axiom
obese and shows what it can do. Technology is also an issue. It can be used for good or bad but will
most likely become a bad thing.
This science fiction is saying that the future will have a lot of technology based things and will
cause obesity. I believe this is true because even now, in 2016, we are seeing that technology is the
base of a lot of things. It is sometimes overused but it definitely improving. If the world gets too
attached to technology, then everyone will become obese because they forget what it is like to have
to do work. Laziness would soon become a characteristic of everyone.
I agree with all these elements that the director put into the film. It is a good illustration of what the
future will be like. It

Wall-E: Spaceship Earth
The idea that robots in the film are depicted as being more intelligent than humans is quite
interesting, and makes a lot of sense when you consider the fact that these humans have been living
in space for nearly 700 years. It seems that as the years have gone by in space, the humans have
gotten not only larger in appearance, but also less intelligent and more reliant on robotic
technologies that they created in the first place. Thus, the robots have become smart, and the humans
have become dumbed down. This brings me to the idea that Disney puts an emphasis on humans as
being mass consumers throughout the film. We can assume that the reason why the earth got so
polluted, was because of humans and their habits of mass consumerism. We can also ... Show more

In Disney parks, we see EPCOT as being a very highly driven technological place, and we see this
too, in Wall–E. With that being said, the ending of Wall–E can be directly compared the experience
of being in EPCOT at Disney World. EPCOT is the future, and humans and technology are involved
in the optimistic view of the future there. While being quite technologically driven, EPCOT lets
guests know that the future will be under control thanks to the technology in place. Buy and Large,
the massive corporation that governed earth, and the axiom can also be related to EPCOT because of
it's corporate influence. EPCOT symbolizes the idea that technology corporations have learned from
the past and can now build a secure, and optimistic future for humans. Not only that, but the future
is and will be a utopia. Alan Bryman sums this up perfectly in the reading from Disney and His

have learned from the problems of the past and will create (indeed, are creating) an idyllic future full
of opportunities. As Nelson (1986) suggests, EPCOT's message is that things are under control or
will be, so we can sit back and wait for the perfected future (Bryman

When Wall–E broke the first display system, it was almost like he woke the passenger up, because
that was when she finally realized the true beauty of everything surrounding her. The display system
serves as an oppressor of existential thought and is symbolic of the societal ignorance. The ship
symbolizes the ignorance of humans because it allows everything to be done for them. The
passengers can get everything with the push of a button. Wall–E realizes how ignorant people have
become because when he boards the ship he sees they have reached a state where all people do is eat
while keeping their eyes glued to a display screen. He realizes that all the ship is really doing is

Satire In Wall-E
The world is in a state of emergency. Global warming and harmful actions by humans have caused
the Earth to face substantial effects. Many Hollywood producers and directors are working together
to use the movies as a stage to promote what is right. Disney and Pixar are known partners and have
worked together once more to create the movie, WALL–E. WALL–E is a movie about a robot that is
fighting to bring the humans back to Earth so they can re–civilize on the planet. WALL–E is a
heartfelt movie for every age, and it also supports a positive message. A healthy Earth brings
prosperity to the human race. In WALL–E you are able to see the change that occurs within our
environment. In the opening scene of the movie you are able to see the trash all over the Earth. The
surface has become a giant dump. No one is left to help but one lonely robot. WALL–E works his
best to clean everything up but there is too much damage for one robot to handle. As he is trying to

In the opening scene of the movie, happy music plays in the background. You expect a pristine look,
yet the Earth is covered in trash and pollution. It is a very ironic and upsetting scene. Moments later,
you see WALL–E trying to clean up all of the trash. WALL–E rolls over a newspaper by the "B N'

trash. Soon after, EVE lands on Earth and WALL–E instantly visualizes her as a romantic interest.
WALL–E even takes EVE on the stereotypical date. They went on a boat ride, inscribed their names
on things, and watched the sun set on a bench. The boat ride is on a bunch of tar water, WALL–E
inscribed their name on a rusty light post instead of a tree, and they watch the sun set on a rusty old

Analysis Of The Movie ' Wall E '
Animation is an often under estimated medium, being seen as primarily for kids and cute story's that
somewhat lack in substance. But in recent years, companies like Pixar have done a great job of
making family movies which contain a strong message. Wall–E is one of those movies. The movie
takes place in the future, after a point where humanity has pushed the earth to a point beyond
vegetation and is currently living aboard a space ship, in which everything they need is done for
them, even walking. Despite its bleak premise, the title character, Wall–E is a cute, lovable, family
friendly robot, who is in many ways more human than what's left of humanity.
We are introduced to a world, literally covered in garbage, that Wall–E has been sorting through for
an unspecified amount of time, diligently doing his job to compact and sort all the debris, left by his
human creators. As the film proceeds, we see what a lonely existence Wall–E leads until Eve shows
up with her unknown "directive," eventually becoming a friend to Wall–E. As the film proceeds
eventually we find that Eve's motivation is to check whether the Earth is capable of vegetation yet,
for the humans now aboard the Axiom space station.
After following Eve back to Axiom, we find that through generations of over reliance on the
machines aboard Axiom, humans have become anti–social, over–weight, lazy versions of their
former selves. At this point, the message of the movie starts to kick in and we begin to see where

We also have a lot of things in our world now that cause pollution. Transportation, food production,

With all of these things our world would start to die by the minute and that's exactly what happened

Analysis Of ' Wall E '
Wall–e is a children 's movie about capitalism and the future consequences of buying into such
ideals. It proposes that society would be better off with "wholesome lifestyles" ("Argument
Analysis") and less consumerism. Professor Humphreys presented three critiques and four
interventions, about the film so that we could analyze it with theories learned in class. She also plays
the "devil 's advocate" to argue that "capitalism has destroyed not only the planet, but also
humankind, specifically, Americans" ("Argument Analysis"). She proposes that the film is not about
the revolution or change that it pretends to be, by using Queer theory and post–structuralism. The
first critique presented by Professor Humphreys was centered on corporate America and the results
of consumer culture. In the movie, the over consumption leads to massive amounts of garbage and
as a result, everyone is forced to leave. The Earth is demoted to a garbage world and Wall–e, a
"Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth–Class" (Wall–e) robot, is left to clean up the world. The post–
apocalyptic state of the world is blamed on capitalism and BuyNLarge, because a revolution was
needed but did not happen in time.
Although I agree with the ongoing theme that presents consumerism as bad, I believe that blaming
capitalism and BuyNLarge, does nothing for their situation. Their entire social structure is at fault
because buying in excess is ingrained in their discourse because it has become a part of their society.

Wall-E Theme
Wall–E, released in the summer of 2008, explores the lonely life of the one robot left working on a
future Earth. Wall–E is a garbage unit robot left to clean up the mess that humans have made after
centuries of buying things they don't need. Humans have apparently left the planet to live on a
luxury spacecraft for five years until Earth is clean. It looks as though it has been much longer than
this because other Wall–E units have long since rusted away. Our hero, Wall–E, however, continues
to plug away, building massive structures of garbage that tower over the city's skyscrapers. His
lonely existence is made easier when an EVE unit lands on Earth, looking for any sign of life that
might show that Earth is habitable again. Together, they show us what has become of the human
race, and show mankind that they can take care of Earth. Based on the movie's setting, plot,
characters, and theme, Wall–E is science fiction. To begin, a science fiction's setting is often set in
the future on a drastically–changed Earth. Wall–E is set 800 years in the future, around the year

According to the definition, a science fiction story's theme deals with how technology affects or
changes human beings. One of the main themes in Wall–E is, "We must be careful that the
technology that makes our lives easier doesn't turn us into fat, lazy, boneless blobs." The humans on
the Axiom don't have to work for anything, and don't even need to physically walk anywhere, even
to bed. They eat unhealthy diets that they actually drink out of a cup. A robot even brushes the
captain's teeth for him. Golf and tennis are virtual reality games. The ship does have a swimming
pool and a jogging track, but none of the humans are aware of this fact. It is as though vacation has

As humans, we must reduce the amount of trash we let loose in our waters and begin removing what
we have already filled them with. For instance, Jocelyn Kaiser explains how a man by the name of
Charles Moore found a patch of garbage the size of Texas in the Pacific Ocean in 1997 and to this
day that patch has remained there. Also known as the "trash vortex" this patch consists of bottles,
Styrofoam, tires, fishing line, wrappers, and raw resin (1506). The National Geographic adds that
the vortex is split into two areas. The Western Garbage Patch is located near Japan and the Eastern
Garbage Patch is located in–between California and Hawaii. Currents in the ocean act as a highway
due to the mixture of warm and cold water, which moves the trash from one patch to another making
the water look cloudy (Great). 80% of this trash comes from Asia and North Americas land and
eventually makes its way into the rivers and oceans; the other 20% is from careless boaters (Great).

Comparing WALL-E And Education
WALL–E and Education
WALL–E is a story about a robot, also named WALL–E, that is cleaning up the Earth, because the
Earth has become so polluted that it cannot sustain life. The movie addresses several different
education topics. The movie displayed adaptive and personalized learning, robots being used to
teach children, and how WALL–E and his robot friend Eve were able to learn on their own.
Education comes up for the first time at the beginning of the movie, where robots are teaching
children, just like our teachers teach us today. Education is also shown throughout the movie,
because WALL–E continuously teaches himself by repairing himself and discovering new things.
WALL–E demonstrates adaptive and personalized learning. Adaptive learning is the use of
technology in teaching, and personalized learning is adjusting teaching to meet the needs of
individual students. It is important to "enab[le] more adaptive and personalized experiences for
students" (Wiley). Adaptive learning helps "to eliminate the complexity of deciding what ... Show

WALL–E is always learning and exploring on his own. He survives because he learns how to fix
himself and change his own battery, and he did this with nobody there to teach him. Also, another
robot, Eve, learns how to fix WALL–E after he is damaged, but she has trouble figuring out why he
cannot remember her. She finally figures out that she needed to keep telling him things, and he
finally remembered who she was. WALL–E, the movie, presents three aspects of education. The
movie shows adaptive and personalized learning that uses technology and adjusts teaching to meet
the needs of individual students. It shows the use of robots and technology to teach children, without
teachers. Finally, the movie examines self learning, showing how the robots were able to learn
without anyone there to teach them. These are the ways that the movie WALL–E, looked at

Wall-E Film Shows Biblical References and Critiques Consumerism

  • 1. Wall-E Film Analysis The film Wall–E shows examples of hope and love and on top of that it is like a modern day take on some stories from the Bible. Stories from the Bible have been around for a long time and stories like Adam and Eve and Noah's Ark are reflected in the film Wall–E. One being how the axiom is like the ark from the story of Noah's ark, and Eve is like the dove with the olive branch from the story of Noah's ark, and in the film Wall–E the main character Wall–E was lonely before EVE came to earth, just like Adam was in the bible before God provided Eve. T Firstly an example of how the film Wall–E shows biblical references, is how the Axiom is like the ark from the story of Noah's ark. E The Axiom is like the ark because the ark is the vessel that Noah builds so that God can save humanity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... T thirdly another biblical reference that shows hope and love is that Wall–E is lonely just like Adam was in the bible before eve came E in the film Wall–E is lonely because he is all by himself and in the bible Adam is lonely also so God provides Adam with Eve so that he can love her and he won't be lonely and Wall–E meets EVE so then he isnt lonely and he falls in love with EVE so it's almost the same as the story from the bible in the bible at Gen 2:22 it says "Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man." God did this so that Adam would have someone to love and he wouldn't be lonely Wall–E is lonely also and then he meets EVE E God gives Adam Eve so he can love and wall–e also loves EVE because he had never seen anything like her he would have hoped for someone to love and then EVE came and he wanted to hold her hand straight away the bible says "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud." this is how Wall–E and Adam are similar. L that's how this is a biblical reference from Wall–E that shows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. WALL-E the Movie WALL– E is an animated Disney Pixar movie about the future of our planet, Earth. The opening scene is a futuristic reality of our planet becoming a waste–covered landfill. WALL–E is a robot that is designed to clean up the mess and pollution humans have made throughout the decades. This movie is not only child friendly, but also is recognized as a critique on today's society. Although the movie strictly focuses on the robot WALL–E and his love interest with the high–tech robot Eve, the audience is still able to understand the true meaning behind the critically acclaimed movie. The animated film portrays a futuristic reality of the implications of today's society. In today's modern society, consumerism is an everyday fact of living. Society is constantly encourage to purchase goods and services to the point where there is no longer a realization of the influence companies have on people's daily lives. The movie has left the audience to question how society could lead the planet to such a state where it is virtually uninhabitable by humans. The film is "an exaggerated extension of our consumer–driven lifestyle whereby convenience and complacency have supplanted personal liberty" (Krier, 2008). A consumer–driven lifestyle can be seen in the movie through the use of clever depictions of Buy–N–Large in the film, however overconsumption is also a part of many cultures today, including the United States. The film depicts that humans have made the planet uninhabitable through ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. What Is WALL-E? WALL–E is a Disney film about a robot who is trying to save a planet that is full of trash and waste. WALL–E, the robot, feels like he is put on the planet for a reason, and that reason is to help people and make the world a better and cleaner place. Then another robot, named Eve, comes down from a spaceship. WALL–E then ends up falling in love with her and follows her wherever she goes to make sure that she is okay and safe. Through the film I noticed that WALL–E is very unselfish. I noticed this because he is very nice to everyone and tries to help everyone around him as much as he can. He likes to pick up trash and clean everything around him also. He collects everything that looks important to him and keeps it in his little garage home. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Science In Wall-E Analysis Science in Wall–E Introduction Imagine the Earth with trash piled as tall as skyscrapers, and the only sign of life is what the people left behind. What the people left are Wall–Es to compact trash and to essentially clean up the planet. 700 years later, one Wall–E is left with no company except a cockroach. One day, EVE is sent down to see if the planet is sustainable for life. When Wall–E laid eyes on her, he falls in love with EVE. Wall–E follows her around, shows EVE his collection including a plant he found earlier, and protects her when EVE was unresponsive. Then, the ship reclaimed EVE and Wall–E went after her. They arrived for Axiom where the people of Earth move around in hover chairs, eat their meals through straws, and are so fat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 9. Satire In Wall-E People often write off animated films as childish and lacking any depth. However, the movie, Wall– E, points a large microscope at our society and our potential future. In the movie Wall–E, it's a robot name Wall–E and Ben Burtt's play' him. Also, there are other characters is Eve and Elissa Knight play's her. There's a that they go on because the planet earth doesn't have a living plant except one. They have to place the plant in the place that the plant will go so they can get to earth. The Captain is played by Jeff Garlin and, the Captain had a hard time to get the plant into the deposit that it's supposed to go in. Satire is used for humor and poke fun at a thing that is happening like when the place is in the chair they are too lazy to get up and do their own things. Also, they have the robots bring them the food. It pokes fun at humans because humans are lazy and us humans what other people or robots to get are things cause the humans made robots so people wouldn't have to get up. They also wanted to show what happens to the earth if we don't take care of it and, it will turn all to trash and doesn't look like a nice place to live. The director Andrew Stanton used the movie, Wall–E, and satire as a way to criticize and comment on technology and environment in our society. Throughout the movie, Wall–E, director Andrew Stanton uses satire to criticize and comment on technology. His reason for doing this is to clean up the Earth, hopefully making it safe for humans to emigrate back to Earth. One day, WALL–E is out and about just doing his job, and he sees a red dot. As human population grows, more plastics and materials are going to be used filling up landfills to their maximum capacity leaving the only option to fill natural environments with pollution and waste products. Furthermore, Wall–E demonstrates the terrifying truth about the growth of the human population with no room left for organic life to thrive and businesses focusing to distract humans from the aesthetic justification. Wall–E then continues to address other environmental issues as well. We must look at the world leaders who were able to convince entire countries to eliminate millions of people different than themselves. Instead of ignoring these human mistakes, we must break them down and figure out how they could happen. The key to all this however is ensuring that this new time be spent bettering society rather than becoming lazy and unproductive such as what the movie Wall–E predicts happening. In Wall–E the ordinary citizen spends their time in front of a monitor watching shows while technology does everything for them. This too can happen in our future. While this epitomizes modern time, it also represents M.T. Anderson's Feed and Pixar's Wall–E. Feed is a book about a dystopian society influenced by a device, called "feed", implanted in the brains of the citizens. The author describes a group of regular teenagers that venture to the moon for a spring break vacation of partying and going "in mal". The main character, Titus, falls for a girl named Violet who is not like the other stereotypical teens in this book. Jefferson Park?' 'Yeah. That was knocked down to make an air factory'" (Anderson 125). The environment in Feed can't even produce air anymore so the air is machine–made and fake. Similarly, the environment in Wall–E is also polluted; however, the problem is more severe. The earth has been completely abandoned for 700 years and the improvement of earth has been given into the hands of a garbage–collecting robot, Wall–E. All of humanity moved to outer space to live in a ship controlled by robots and centered on technology. The ads on the ship broadcast the advances of space stating that if there was "too much garbage in your face" on earth, than there is "plenty of space out in space!" (Wall–E). In the futuristic book, Feed, children are implanted with a "feed" that displays advertisements and controls all thoughts, emotions, and memories. M.T. Anderson writes using satire of consumerism and deteriorates the complexity in the main character, Titus's, language. Additionally, the characters are influenced by the ads they see, "When we got off the ship, our feeds were going fugue with all the banners" (Anderson 8). This final achievement would leave lasting impressions on all those who stepped near the narrow brick building covered in ivy mirroring the campus of Washington and Lee University. Robert E. This is just one example of the fact that love has no boundaries. Foreshadowing Wall–e foreshadowed what could happen if us humans do not step up our game. Scenes that stand out One of the scenes from Wall–e is the scene where it gives us an aerial view of what the planet earth had come to look like. All you see is trash everywhere with no life to be seen. Another scene that stands out to me is when we first see the humans aboard the ship. It just disgusts me how self absorbed and unattached they are from the world. I would not want to live a life like that. This film is not only great from an environmental perspective but also from a perspective of a teenager. The animated characters are adorable and the movie does a great job at creating a picture of the fact that the Earth doesn't last forever. The movie starts off with WALL–E collecting materials around the widely polluted and trashed surface. There are no humans here because the Earth became too dirty and trashed to live on. The earthlings left the Earth in despair and now live on a space shuttle called "the Axiom". Will mankind survive...has the IQ of the human race decreased too much to save the crumbling Earth? This science fiction movie is certainly a futuristic environmental story in my opinion. • 33. Wall-E Critical Analysis Wall–E and An Over Reliance on Technology In the animated film Wall–E, a robot named Wall–E, designed to clean up Earth after humans covered it in trash, stows away aboard the Axiom, a spaceship that departed Earth 700 years prior to the start of the film. Once aboard the Axiom, Wall–E must convince the humans that the Earth can now sustain and provide habitable conditions for human life once again. A large audience of all ages enjoyed this animated film because of its lovable and fun characters, engaging story, and interesting setting. Even though many families love Wall–E, the movie gives social commentary on several issues, including the over reliance on technology, the consumerist nature of modern societies, and the fear of ever–evolving machines. In the opening of the movie, Wall–E watched VHS tapes and played video games made in the 1970's, and because of this, he learned how humans behaved and what they liked before they left on the Axiom. He watched people in movies, singing and dancing and having an overall fun time. Because of these things that Wall–E experienced, he thought of humans as active, happy, and social people; however, when Wall–E arrived aboard the Axiom, his perception of humanity changed. People sat in recliners floating a foot off the ground. Each chair had a personal computer and monitor attached to it, allowing the operator to move, talk, and do almost anything, all while barely moving a muscle. With that being said, the ending of Wall–E can be directly compared the experience of being in EPCOT at Disney World. EPCOT is the future, and humans and technology are involved in the optimistic view of the future there. While being quite technologically driven, EPCOT lets guests know that the future will be under control thanks to the technology in place. Buy and Large, the massive corporation that governed earth, and the axiom can also be related to EPCOT because of it's corporate influence. EPCOT symbolizes the idea that technology corporations have learned from the past and can now build a secure, and optimistic future for humans. Not only that, but the future is and will be a utopia. Alan Bryman sums this up perfectly in the reading from Disney and His Worlds by writing; The future is utopian in the image of a world in which enlightened corporations have learned from the problems of the past and will create (indeed, are creating) an idyllic future full of opportunities. As Nelson (1986) suggests, EPCOT's message is that things are under control or will be, so we can sit back and wait for the perfected future (Bryman ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The creator also uses dancing and music throughout the movie to set the mood for the development of a relationship between Wall–E and Eve. When Wall–E broke the first display system, it was almost like he woke the passenger up, because that was when she finally realized the true beauty of everything surrounding her. The display system serves as an oppressor of existential thought and is symbolic of the societal ignorance. The ship symbolizes the ignorance of humans because it allows everything to be done for them. The passengers can get everything with the push of a button. Wall–E realizes how ignorant people have become because when he boards the ship he sees they have reached a state where all people do is eat while keeping their eyes glued to a display screen. He realizes that all the ship is really doing is dictating peoples' lives. Auto constantly has the protocol A113 pop up which is symbolic of destroying hope and new beginnings. The repetitive protocol symbolically shows the boring lives people live on the ship. The passengers of the ship live with no desire to have purpose, and they live an inauthentic life that is mapped out for them by the BnL corporation. Wall–E's actions end up inspiring the passengers (especially the captain) to look for something different and break away from blindly accepting what everyone else is accepting. Many Hollywood producers and directors are working together to use the movies as a stage to promote what is right. Disney and Pixar are known partners and have worked together once more to create the movie, WALL–E. WALL–E is a movie about a robot that is fighting to bring the humans back to Earth so they can re–civilize on the planet. WALL–E is a heartfelt movie for every age, and it also supports a positive message. A healthy Earth brings prosperity to the human race. In WALL–E you are able to see the change that occurs within our environment. In the opening scene of the movie you are able to see the trash all over the Earth. The surface has become a giant dump. No one is left to help but one lonely robot. WALL–E works his best to clean everything up but there is too much damage for one robot to handle. You expect a pristine look, yet the Earth is covered in trash and pollution. It is a very ironic and upsetting scene. Moments later, you see WALL–E trying to clean up all of the trash. WALL–E rolls over a newspaper by the "B N' L" president stating "there is too much trash". This is also irony because the newspaper itself, is trash. Soon after, EVE lands on Earth and WALL–E instantly visualizes her as a romantic interest. WALL–E even takes EVE on the stereotypical date. • 61. Analysis Of The Movie ' Wall E ' Animation is an often under estimated medium, being seen as primarily for kids and cute story's that somewhat lack in substance. But in recent years, companies like Pixar have done a great job of making family movies which contain a strong message. Wall–E is one of those movies. The movie takes place in the future, after a point where humanity has pushed the earth to a point beyond vegetation and is currently living aboard a space ship, in which everything they need is done for them, even walking. Despite its bleak premise, the title character, Wall–E is a cute, lovable, family friendly robot, who is in many ways more human than what's left of humanity. We are introduced to a world, literally covered in garbage, that Wall–E has been sorting through for an unspecified amount of time, diligently doing his job to compact and sort all the debris, left by his human creators. As the film proceeds, we see what a lonely existence Wall–E leads until Eve shows up with her unknown "directive," eventually becoming a friend to Wall–E. As the film proceeds eventually we find that Eve's motivation is to check whether the Earth is capable of vegetation yet, for the humans now aboard the Axiom space station. After following Eve back to Axiom, we find that through generations of over reliance on the machines aboard Axiom, humans have become anti–social, over–weight, lazy versions of their former selves. At this point, the message of the movie starts to kick in and we begin to see where ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 69. Analysis Of ' Wall E ' Wall–e is a children 's movie about capitalism and the future consequences of buying into such ideals. It proposes that society would be better off with "wholesome lifestyles" ("Argument Analysis") and less consumerism. Professor Humphreys presented three critiques and four interventions, about the film so that we could analyze it with theories learned in class. She also plays the "devil 's advocate" to argue that "capitalism has destroyed not only the planet, but also humankind, specifically, Americans" ("Argument Analysis"). She proposes that the film is not about the revolution or change that it pretends to be, by using Queer theory and post–structuralism. The first critique presented by Professor Humphreys was centered on corporate America and the results of consumer culture. In the movie, the over consumption leads to massive amounts of garbage and as a result, everyone is forced to leave. The Earth is demoted to a garbage world and Wall–e, a "Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth–Class" (Wall–e) robot, is left to clean up the world. The post– apocalyptic state of the world is blamed on capitalism and BuyNLarge, because a revolution was needed but did not happen in time. Although I agree with the ongoing theme that presents consumerism as bad, I believe that blaming capitalism and BuyNLarge, does nothing for their situation. Their entire social structure is at fault because buying in excess is ingrained in their discourse because it has become a part of their society. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 71. Wall-E Theme Wall–E, released in the summer of 2008, explores the lonely life of the one robot left working on a future Earth. Wall–E is a garbage unit robot left to clean up the mess that humans have made after centuries of buying things they don't need. Humans have apparently left the planet to live on a luxury spacecraft for five years until Earth is clean. It looks as though it has been much longer than this because other Wall–E units have long since rusted away. Our hero, Wall–E, however, continues to plug away, building massive structures of garbage that tower over the city's skyscrapers. His lonely existence is made easier when an EVE unit lands on Earth, looking for any sign of life that might show that Earth is habitable again. Together, they show us what has become of the human race, and show mankind that they can take care of Earth. Based on the movie's setting, plot, characters, and theme, Wall–E is science fiction. Also known as the "trash vortex" this patch consists of bottles, Styrofoam, tires, fishing line, wrappers, and raw resin (1506). The National Geographic adds that the vortex is split into two areas. The Western Garbage Patch is located near Japan and the Eastern Garbage Patch is located in–between California and Hawaii. Currents in the ocean act as a highway due to the mixture of warm and cold water, which moves the trash from one patch to another making the water look cloudy (Great). 80% of this trash comes from Asia and North Americas land and eventually makes its way into the rivers and oceans; the other 20% is from careless boaters (Great).
