Reflective Essay On Being A Jewish
Camp is like a bubble, the outside world does not exist for two months of every year. Unlike the real
world, Camp Pembroke, an all girl's Jewish overnight camp, is a place where young girls can
develop not only self–confidence but also character in a setting that is free of the social pressures.
Being at camp has shaped me into the individual I have become by giving me the chance to meet
my closest friends. Growing up at camp has been the most inspirational part of my life. Camp
provides a sense of community that only those that are part of it will truly comprehend. I have
learned new things, met new people and celebrated and learned Jewish values. At the age of nine, I
went away to camp for the first time not knowing what it would be like. Almost immediately, I met
my first camp friend. Our bond quickly grew strong within days. At night we would sit, giggling on
the top bunk of her bed. The summers flew by, my bond to camp greatly grew and I began to
treasure the many memories created. As we aged, there was more appreciation for the special place
camp is. In the blink of an eye, my last summer as a camper approached. I took on a five–week
journey through Israel with my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is more about the community there is between Jews, which is hard for others to comprehend.
Living in a town with a very small Jewish population leads to a lot of questions about the religion
itself. I am often asked what I believe in and what I do at home that is "Jewish" and my response is
camp. Camp has taught me that the community created between Jews is truly something special and
you do not need to believe in something specific to feel as though you are a part of this community.
Community is evident in all Jewish activities practiced at camp, filling Camp Pembroke with energy
and spirit. Being with people who practice what you believe in creates a strong connection
spiritually and

for giving him one of his best lives. Tino is again resurrected to a Saint Bernard named Buddy, just

decade. Mate is in the long run dumped in a surrendered parcel by the alcoholic, roughneck young
fellow and reluctantly sets off looking for another life. He progressively advances toward the nation
range where his first life started without acknowledging at first where he is going. He euphorically
reunites with his old ace Ethan, who is presently at the furthest end of middle age, carrying on with
a desolate singular life and clearly softened up soul. Ethan, obviously, at first has no clue who this
meandering Saint Bernard truly is and hands him over to the neighborhood creature shield. In any

Persuasive Essay On Benefits Of Official Photography
Hello fellow photography enthusiasts! I'm trying to find a volunteer photographer for a nonprofit
youth organization in Pembroke, who would the hold position as our Official Photographer.
Essentially this individual would come out to pre–selected activities/important parades/ceremonies
(around 2–3 times a month), throughout the school year (Sep – Jun) to catch army cadets in action.
The volunteer photographer would be given special access to the organization's activities and formal
military parades. The mission for the Official Photographer would be to take captivating images that
will show the cadets' individual and group achievements, tell the story of what cadets do, and
inspire other teenagers to join the army cadet program. A lot of these images would be using in
recruiting material such as: posters, brochures, advertisements, banners, ect. But hey, what's the
benefit for this individual? On top of being part of an amazing team of volunteers, you'll be given so
many unique and special situations that you'll be able to build and expand your professional

Herbert is "the daughter of Sir Henry Sidney and Mary Dudley. She was born at Tickenhall near

Robert and Thomas and one younger sister Ambrosia, approximately fourteen years later,1575,
Ambrosia dies. This would be traumatic experience for any young person. Mary and Ambrosia
received "training in Latin French and Italian language and literature as well as more" feminine
subjects such as needle work, playing the lute and singing whereas their brothers were sent to a

Strategic Planning For The University Of North Carolina At...
Strategic planning has become a ubiquitous practice in nonprofit organization 's (NPO's) (Bryson,
2010). In contrast to for–profit entities, the nonprofit relies heavily on volunteers to fulfill the
organizational mission and vision. To be successful in service to clients, the employees, managers,
and boards of nonprofits develop strategies to recruit, train and retain a volunteer workforce. The
following paper will identify an organization; describe its strategic planning process, and identifying
leaders ' roles in the strategic planning process.
Organization
I work for the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP). My lab currently has three
volunteers. One of the volunteers has been working with us since 2011. I finally plan to hire her this
month. According to Levine and D'Agostino (2010), attracting volunteers with opportunities to
employee is more attractive than false promises. Of course, I am not aware of many volunteer
opportunities UNCP has to offer.
In 2011, I had the opportunity to witness first–hand the ongoing strategic planning process at UNCP.
The focus for the 2011–2012 year was to revise UNCP's vision statement and to create goals,
objectives, and strategies. Too often, strategic planning processes are not implemented because
stakeholders do not feel engaged, involved or committed to its success (Sanaghan Group, 2011).

people where they will be going

Persuasive Essay On Failing Schools
Children deserve to have a great education because they are the ones who are going to build our
tomorrow. There are great schools in the United States that provide students with every resource and
support system a student could possibly need available to them. However, those schools generally
come at a great cost to tax payers and the federal government. Contrastingly, there are schools that
do not provide students with the resources they need in order to be successful, and students are not
meeting grade level expectations generally due to the lack of support. Failing schools are failing
students and failing our future. Once a school is failing, it becomes difficult, almost impossible for
the school to pull itself out of that hole. Without a solid education to provide a foundation, a child's
potential will most likely never come to fruition. One solution to our nation's failing schools are
charter schools. Charter schools are "public, nonsectarian schools operated by private organizations,
either for profit or nonprofit, using public funding" that began more frequently appearing during the
School Choice Movement in the 1990s (Lubienski, 2006; Weissberg, 2009). A private organization
may be granted a five year charter contract by the government that upholds the school to meeting
certain standards if they want their contract to be renewed at the end of the five year period
(Lubienski, 2006). Most charter schools adopt a "No Excuses" policy in order to keep students on

Martin Luther King Jr: Letter from Birmingham Jail
One of the interesting Documents in World History is the 'Letter from Birmingham Jail' by Martin
Luther King Jr who was born as Michael King in 1929 in Atlanta. His parents were part of the
baptism ministries, and they lived in an area that was mostly occupied by the middle–class blacks.
Due to his background, he was mostly in involved in church activities and his father told him that
the church was a way of offsetting the inequality that existed between them and the white people.
He studied at Morehouse College where he took law instead of theology which he later realized
were intertwined. He used his law understanding while preaching. He always wanted to see the
black people liberated and therefore joined the SCLC. In 1963, Martin Luther King Jr was arrested
for participating in civil rights demonstrations in Alabama. The demonstrations were as a result of
many black men participating in the Second World War. They came back more enlightened on their
rights. They now had a new belief that there were better opportunities for them as second class
American citizens. The war made them more determined to improve the lives of their fellow black
people. Martin

In my experience at The Pembroke Hill School I have noticed that girls are targeted for violating

Critical Analysis of Jonh Milton's Sonnet 8
Milton returned to England about 1641 when the political and religious affairs were very disturbing
to many. He started to apply his work in practice for that one great work like Paradise Lost when
penning the Sonnets. Not every sonnet is identical but they can be difficult in interpretation, styles,
word use, and so forth. The purpose of this paper is to analyze Milton's Sonnet 8 (ca 1642), "Captain
or Colonel." This will be done by explaining the type of theme and then separating the sonnet into
three sections: lines 1–4, 5–8, and 9–14 for a better understanding of how Milton used the
development of ongoing events to present problems with a mystical resolution. John Milton studied
and traveled abroad, mainly in Italy, prior to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In verses 5 through 8, the tone is just a little bit different. Milton has ventured from a political event
to more of a religious nature between the Episcopalians and the Puritans. "Charms" in stanza 5 can
be referred to Milton's perception of beauty in having a free liberty with religious choices.
According to the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) charms are both magic spells and songs. This
would possibly denote the blending of voices as in the blending of and tolerance to religious voices
in the doctrine of worship. We can further gather by looking at the wording such as charms or gentle
acts, that Milton is conveying his concern of military action. In phrases like "Name or'e Land and
Seas" or "Whatever clime the Suns bright circle warms" Milton is conveying the spreading of
religious liberty which is what the Monarchy (Charles I) was not in agreement with. Therefore, the
problems that exist in lines 1 through 8 is the military use of the powers that be, would. He (Milton)
wanted (like the Puritans) religious freedom and tolerance but was concerned about the loss of life
to make a case in point. The resolution in stanzas 9–14 is a warning through reflecting ancient
history where internal strife occurred in the literary classics. In line 9, "Muses Browe" should be
defined like a deep mystical clue if the reader references verses 4 "Guard them, and him within
protect from harms", 5 "He can requite thee, for he knows the

Edmund Spenser Research Paper
Edmund Spenser was born into a relatively poor family in East Smithfield, London, England in
1552 (there remains a degree of ambiguity to the exact date of his birth). This information is
acquired from sonnet lx. in the Amoretti where he speaks of having lived 41 years, as of 1595.
Although he was related to an affluent and noble Midlands family of Spencer, his own immediate
family was not particularly wealthy. There also remains some ambiguity to the specificities of
Spenser's childhood, though it is known that he was entered as a "poor boy" in the Merchant
Taylor's grammar school, where he studied primarily Latin, with specks of Hebrew, Greek, and
music thrown in sporadically. Edmund Spenser began his illustrious writing career as early as 16, as

This expansive knowledge of the traditional forms and themes of lyrical and narrative poetry offered
sufficient foundations for the formulation of his own highly original compositions. Without the

pastoral poetry in Italy and France, Spenser would not have came up with and written the The
Shepheardes Calender. Lastly, without the Latin, Italian, and French examples of the highly
traditional marriage ode and the sonnet and canzone forms of Petrarch and succeeding sonneteers,
Spenser could not have written his most notable lyric, Epithalamion, and its accompanying sonnets,

Financial and business
The infrastructural implementation of EHR systems requires initial high dollar investment which in
the current economic environment may require budgetary restraints on other services and supplies.
Although the intent is clear and the potential promising, there is limited evidence of the economic
benefits of EHR systems in healthcare mainly because it is in its infancy, the hospital board of
governors may require extensive due diligence studies prior agreeing to any such change.
Cultural
The cost–benefits across the continuum of providers e.g. doctors, nurses and recipients e.g. patients
of healthcare have yet to be realized and as such much caution and resistance is to be anticipated.
Clinicians inclusive of nurses envision health informatics particularly EHRs as being time
consuming and takes away from, autonomy, actual time spent with patients, also old habits are hard
to break, and question what personal benefits are to be gain from this intrusive system. Not to be
ignored is the additional scrutiny as all processes will be documented at time of process and
provides a permanent record, errors cannot be deleted. Departments who previously had autonomy
on how information is transferred and disseminated from the individual department to other
practitioners may show reluctance to "opening up" to the scrutiny of others. Patients

Analysis Of Pembroke Pines Charter High School Essay
Noura Wilmot September 26, 2016 ENC 1101 Evaluation Education would be considered the most
valuable element that an individual can acquire. Learning about real world problems, meeting
people, sharing life experiences, getting a job based on your abilities and becoming a success
because of your knowledge. This is all stemmed from the one institution in which is the most
important: School. Pembroke Pines Charter High School was the school I attended. The slogan
"College, Citizenship and Community" played a very important role throughout the school program.
VISION & GOAL The vision that Pembroke Pines Charter High School wants to achieve is in
"collaboration with students, parents and the community, endeavors to create a challenging and
supportive organization of lifelong learners" and to "actively engage in a continuous process of
intellectual, emotional and social growth that is unified in direction, yet diverse in approach and
instruction." I appreciate the message that the school is displaying. The theme of the family unit
being utilized brings about that no one should work alone only through teamwork which can result
in success in the future. SIZE & ECONOMICS The school is fairly huge but has a very wide open
space which makes the school seem huge. Buildings spread out across giving the students a chance
at having some fresh air while navigating to their next class on their schedule. The school has about
1,716 students from grades 9–12th. The percentage of gender is 53

I enjoyed the sciences I studied in high school, and I enjoyed the research that went along with my
classes. Now, I want to earn my bachelor's degree in Biology with a biomedical emphasis. I have
been investigating this field, and I believe this is where my career path is leading me. I can help
others, and work with evolving technology. I did not take classes on campus in the fall and am still
taking online classes, so my body can have the time it needs to heal. When I have completely
healed, I plan to take classes on campus and begin my journey towards my career. My first semester
with UNCP, I was able to achieve a 4.0 GPA while spending a significant portion of time immobile.
I am currently enrolled at Wayne Community College as a visiting student and UNCP working on
catching up my college credit hours that I was not able to take during my first semester of my
college career. I plan to take my first college biology class in the summer school session, and I am
looking forward to launching my biology coursework.
Despite a few setbacks, I am not giving up on my college dreams, and I will be working in the
medical field upon graduation from UNCP. This scholarship is important to me, as it will help to
relieve financial costs to further my education. I am very excited to be applying for the 2016

Differences Between Estabrook And Mcdougle
Although Estabrook and McDougle concluded their fieldwork by July 1925, in time to publish their
findings, Davenport expressed serious concerns over the characterizations of the community
contained in the study. These and other internal issues relating to salary and expense disputes
between Estabrook and the ERO threw the study's publication into doubt. During this time,
Estabrook also began other research and his employment with the ERO ended. Eventually the study
was published in 1926 as Mongrel Virginians: The WIN Tribe. By this time the publicity for the
book had largely fallen to McDougle who took primary responsibility for dispensing copies to the
Anglo–Saxon Clubs and other interested parties. Mongrel Virginians confirmed many of the primary
theories advanced by the Anglo–Saxon Clubs regarding the immorality and mental deficiency that
they believed resulted from racial mixing. In discussing the public perception of the group's racial
mixture Estabrook and McDougle offered the following: "They are described variously as 'low
down' yellow negroes as Indians, as 'mixed,' No one however speaks of them as white." Writing
about the consanguinity practiced within the group, Estabrook and McDougle attributed it to social
barriers established between the "WIN" and whites and blacks residing outside of "Ab" county.
Having hoped that the study would provide him new ammunition in his racial integrity fight against
the state's Indians, Plecker was

religious freedom and through his establishment of Rhode Island. Before coming to America,
Williams was able to receive an education at Pembroke College at Cambridge University, receiving
various scholarships for his merit in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek. At the time of his marriage to Mary
Barnard in 1629, Williams had already been a name known throughout Europe for his ideals on
religious acceptance. His religious tolerance sprung from his lifelong desire for a closer relationship
with God. Although these strong beliefs caused many problems for him–including getting banished

The Virgim Hotel: The Ruling Hotel
The Peabody Hotel was the place to see and be seen in the late1800s. The opulence and the
Renaissance architecture of the historic Tennessee hotel, epitomized southern hospitality. However,
it wasn't just the luxury of the hotel or the celebrities who stayed there that made it notable; it was
the hotel's feathered resident guests which made the hotel a must–see stop on any Memphis,
Tennessee itinerary. Since the 1930s to the present, five Mallard ducks have taken up residence at
the famous hotel, and march down to the lobby twice a day to greet their adoring public.
The Peabody ducks first appeared at the hotel in the 1930s when the general manager of the

Race and ethnicity are already social constructions, so I strongly agree that they are the most
impactful for families. "To say of something that it is socially constructed is to emphasize its
dependence on contingent aspects of our social selves. It is to say: This thing could not have existed
had we not built it; and we need not have built it at all, at least not in its present form (Boghossian
N)". The statement provided provides incite on the views I have on "race and ethnicity". I feel this
way because growing up in a certain race can tremendous impact certain situations, opportunities,
and even affect one's close relationship. In regards to "opportunities", some races may not be
selected for jobs based upon their race/ethnicity. For example, "Minority groups are sometimes
devalued and treated with suspicious and contempt by other members of society"(Seccombe 2012).
Even so, "Researchers at the University of Chicago submitted fictitious resumes to more than 1,000
ads in Boston and Chicago newspaper. These resumes were submitted were assigned Black or White
sounding names. Those resumes with white sounding names received 50% more telephone calls for
interviews"(Seccombe 2012). This leads me to believe that minority groups aren't consider as good
candidates based off of race/ethnicity resulting in an negative on income and less

Reflective Essay On Being A Jewish

  • 1. Reflective Essay On Being A Jewish Camp is like a bubble, the outside world does not exist for two months of every year. Unlike the real world, Camp Pembroke, an all girl's Jewish overnight camp, is a place where young girls can develop not only self–confidence but also character in a setting that is free of the social pressures. Being at camp has shaped me into the individual I have become by giving me the chance to meet my closest friends. Growing up at camp has been the most inspirational part of my life. Camp provides a sense of community that only those that are part of it will truly comprehend. I have learned new things, met new people and celebrated and learned Jewish values. At the age of nine, I went away to camp for the first time not knowing what it would be like. Almost immediately, I met my first camp friend. Our bond quickly grew strong within days. At night we would sit, giggling on the top bunk of her bed. The summers flew by, my bond to camp greatly grew and I began to treasure the many memories created. As we aged, there was more appreciation for the special place camp is. In the blink of an eye, my last summer as a camper approached. I took on a five–week journey through Israel with my ... Living in a town with a very small Jewish population leads to a lot of questions about the religion itself. I am often asked what I believe in and what I do at home that is "Jewish" and my response is camp. Camp has taught me that the community created between Jews is truly something special and you do not need to believe in something specific to feel as though you are a part of this community. Community is evident in all Jewish activities practiced at camp, filling Camp Pembroke with energy and spirit. Being with people who practice what you believe in creates a strong connection spiritually and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Persuasive Essay On Failing Schools Children deserve to have a great education because they are the ones who are going to build our tomorrow. There are great schools in the United States that provide students with every resource and support system a student could possibly need available to them. However, those schools generally come at a great cost to tax payers and the federal government. Contrastingly, there are schools that do not provide students with the resources they need in order to be successful, and students are not meeting grade level expectations generally due to the lack of support. Failing schools are failing students and failing our future. Once a school is failing, it becomes difficult, almost impossible for the school to pull itself out of that hole. Without a solid education to provide a foundation, a child's potential will most likely never come to fruition. One solution to our nation's failing schools are charter schools. Charter schools are "public, nonsectarian schools operated by private organizations, either for profit or nonprofit, using public funding" that began more frequently appearing during the School Choice Movement in the 1990s (Lubienski, 2006; Weissberg, 2009). A private organization may be granted a five year charter contract by the government that upholds the school to meeting certain standards if they want their contract to be renewed at the end of the five year period (Lubienski, 2006). • 22. Critical Analysis of Jonh Milton's Sonnet 8 Milton returned to England about 1641 when the political and religious affairs were very disturbing to many. He started to apply his work in practice for that one great work like Paradise Lost when penning the Sonnets. Not every sonnet is identical but they can be difficult in interpretation, styles, word use, and so forth. The purpose of this paper is to analyze Milton's Sonnet 8 (ca 1642), "Captain or Colonel." This will be done by explaining the type of theme and then separating the sonnet into three sections: lines 1–4, 5–8, and 9–14 for a better understanding of how Milton used the development of ongoing events to present problems with a mystical resolution. John Milton studied and traveled abroad, mainly in Italy, prior to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In verses 5 through 8, the tone is just a little bit different. Milton has ventured from a political event to more of a religious nature between the Episcopalians and the Puritans. "Charms" in stanza 5 can be referred to Milton's perception of beauty in having a free liberty with religious choices. According to the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) charms are both magic spells and songs. This would possibly denote the blending of voices as in the blending of and tolerance to religious voices in the doctrine of worship. We can further gather by looking at the wording such as charms or gentle acts, that Milton is conveying his concern of military action. In phrases like "Name or'e Land and Seas" or "Whatever clime the Suns bright circle warms" Milton is conveying the spreading of religious liberty which is what the Monarchy (Charles I) was not in agreement with. Therefore, the problems that exist in lines 1 through 8 is the military use of the powers that be, would. He (Milton) wanted (like the Puritans) religious freedom and tolerance but was concerned about the loss of life to make a case in point. The resolution in stanzas 9–14 is a warning through reflecting ancient history where internal strife occurred in the literary classics. Lastly, without the Latin, Italian, and French examples of the highly traditional marriage ode and the sonnet and canzone forms of Petrarch and succeeding sonneteers, Spenser could not have written his most notable lyric, Epithalamion, and its accompanying sonnets, ... • 32. Differences Between Estabrook And Mcdougle Although Estabrook and McDougle concluded their fieldwork by July 1925, in time to publish their findings, Davenport expressed serious concerns over the characterizations of the community contained in the study. These and other internal issues relating to salary and expense disputes between Estabrook and the ERO threw the study's publication into doubt. During this time, Estabrook also began other research and his employment with the ERO ended. Eventually the study was published in 1926 as Mongrel Virginians: The WIN Tribe. By this time the publicity for the book had largely fallen to McDougle who took primary responsibility for dispensing copies to the Anglo–Saxon Clubs and other interested parties. Mongrel Virginians confirmed many of the primary theories advanced by the Anglo–Saxon Clubs regarding the immorality and mental deficiency that they believed resulted from racial mixing. In discussing the public perception of the group's racial mixture Estabrook and McDougle offered the following: "They are described variously as 'low down' yellow negroes as Indians, as 'mixed,' No one however speaks of them as white." Writing about the consanguinity practiced within the group, Estabrook and McDougle attributed it to social barriers established between the "WIN" and whites and blacks residing outside of "Ab" county.
