Perceptions and Stereotypes of Aerobics
With 600,000 people across Australia who have participated in aerobics at one point in time, it can be manifested that aerobics is one of the most
marginalized sports within the country (Ausport, 2000). With such a marginalized sport, there are many stereotypes that are associated with just the
word aerobics. This is explored through the survey that was conducted and was answered by the students at StAC. Many of the stereotypes that are
believed in society are that aerobics is a sport dominated by females and that it more of a dance class. This report will evaluate the possible influences
that have shaped students' perceptions using Figueroa's Framework and Maslow's hierarchy. Aerobics is a form of physical exercise that combines

The lack of sponsorship could be a reason why there is a insufficiency of participants in aerobics. This leads us on to the next point, the institutional
level. Institutional level 2.2 The institutional level of Figueroa's framework level examines the institutions within society that affect sport and
physical activity (Kirk, 2004). Institutions such as schools, community groups, sporting clubs, and religious groups are able to help shape positive
attitudes to sport and physical activity. The accessibility of aerobics classes and equipment are very limited compared to many other sports. In the
Brisbane area there are only 3 aerobics classes compared to the 1219 rugby league classes (Google maps, 2013). This is a staggering 400 times more
and is very influential to the fact that participation levels are lower and can be the reason why many people view it as a dance class due to the lack of
availability of facilities. There are also no aerobics competitions within Australia and this is another factor in influencing people's perceptions. Schools
feature prominently when discussing how people's early attitudes towards sport are shaped. Some schools with strong sporting traditions reinforce
participation in sport. The sports that students are encouraged to participate in can depend on the school's history and traditions, the facilities and
equipment available, and the expertise of the

Touch Football Training Report
Title Page Name of report, author, data, whole page for title page Introduction This task is about applying a 5–week training program which aims at
improving my physical capabilities as a touch football player in order to find and justify a position based on my fitness level. I will discuss and
evaluate the link between each position and the amount of fitness required to strive in a youth district level touch football environment. My best
position will be evaluated and justified by the results of the pre–training tests and the post–training tests which I took part in. Methodology Over the
course of this term, I have participated in five fitness tests and will participate in five post–fitness tests which have effect in touch football in order...

My slight improvements may be due to the fact that what was done in the 5–week training program was not enough for my body to improve enough to
succeed reliably in touch football. During all of these tests, my shoulder injury has impacted on these results and the weather has also been one of the
other major factors within these tests. For example, during the Glycolic Agility Test, on that day the weather was extremely dry which made me slip
on the grass. This created additional effort in trying to stabilise myself the entire time and it would have slowed me down as well. Also, another factor
which effected these tests was the fact that I was already fatigued from swimming training which I attend

The Effect Of Aerobic Exercise On Aerobic Capacity
INTRODUCTION
The body constantly needs energy to work. This energy, at the cellular level, supplied in the form of chemical potential energy stored in ATP needs
to be regeneration in order to fuel more cellular activity and this can be done aerobically or anaerobically(Astrand 1956). Energy to sustain high
intensity workouts cannot eventually be fully supported by anaerobic pathways, resulting in an increased reliance on aerobic metabolism (Bogdanis et
al. 1996). The level of fitness to carry out anaerobic exercises may be influenced by aerobic capacity (Kaikkonen et al.2000, Tomlin and Wegner 2011).
By discovering the relationship between anaerobic fitness and aerobic fitness. It should be possible for athletes to think about taking an advantage by
distributing their physical energy during a match properly or, for any individuals to understand or make their personal fitness program.
The aim of this study is to compare the maximum number of push–ups achieved by tested individuals against their change in pulse rate measure before
and after a moderate step–up exercise; and determine how the ability of anaerobic fitness influences aerobic exercise.
It was predicted that being anaerobically fit do not assist in aerobic exercise.
METHOD
Refer to the School of Biological Sciences (2015).
See Appendix 1 for Null and Alternate hypotheses
RESULTS
There is a total of 137 tested individuals involved. There are 49 observations who did less than 25 push–ups and a number of 88

Persuasive Essay On Swimming
A person's cardiovascular system is a very important part of fitness and one's overall health. Here are a few of the best exercises; walking running,
cycling, rowing, swimming. Research suggests at least 150 minutes per week, a minimum of 30 minutes per day, five times a day a week. A few
exercises that are best are, climbing, playing sports, and running is also some of the most common and affordable. At least 25 minutes of vigorous
aerobic activity at least or a combination of moderate and aerobic activity are some of the best options to benefit your cardiovascular system.
Swimming is one of the most beneficial exercises you can do for your health, the sport uses your entire body, and can overall improve your health.
Not only does swimming help manage your weight, but it will also benefit you mentally, it will reduce your stress levels as well as boost your mood.
Physically, swimming will strengthen your muscles, and unlike many other sports swimming does not put increased stress on your bones, joints and
muscles. Depending on what you do, there are a variety of ways you can improve your health.
There are many different varieties of swimming strokes; a freestyle stroke, a breaststroke, butterfly stroke, back stroke, side stroke, as well as a
elementary side stroke. Each of these range in proficiency. Beginning with the freestyle stroke, you must first begin concentrating on each and every
specific aspect of your stroke, You find your head position, reach forward, rotate

INTRODUCTION
The word 'yoga' comes from 'yuj' in sanskrit, which means 'unity' or 'Yoke' the relative meaning is to concentrate attention or 'use'. 'Asana' is one of
the most significant tools of yoga helping to position the body in various positions with the total participation of the mind and self to establish
communication between our inner and outer self (Iyengar, 2001). Yoga practices assume a critical part in the support of human systems. Yoga perfect
builds up the body as well as produces intellectual capacities. Moreover, yogis procure dominance of the involuntary muscles of their body (A.M.
Moorthy and J. David Manual Raju, 1983). In this study we try to discover the effects of aerobic dance and yogic practice on blood lipid profiles
among university students. Yoga provides techniques (physically, mentally, intellectually and emotionally) for this growth. These techniques are also
therapeutically useful for many of the stress–related problems. Sound health is an adjusted advancement of a person's identity and enthusiastic
dispositions, empowering him to live in harmony with his condition. It is only a great adjustment to the biological balance in our body and this can
be achieved by doing yogic practices and exercises: "Yoga has a total message for mankind, has a message for the human body, has a message for the
human personality and has a message for the human soul." –Swami Kuvalayananda 2 regulates the dietary model and has a

(Amezdroz, 2010) Passing and catching is an essential part of being a middle, whether it is receiving from the dummy half or passing out to a wing;
these movements require limbs to move in the right direction and at the right speed to be preformed effectively. Energy System Requirements A game
of touch requires the use of all energy systems at once but in varied amounts. The body will automatically choose which energy system it requires the
most based on the fitness components used. It has been identified above that the three main components used by a middle are; Aerobic capacity,
muscular endurance and coordination. In figure 12.5 it shows the relationship between components of fitness and energy systems. Both aerobic
capacity and muscular endurance relate to the Aerobic system. The aerobic system uses oxygen and is generally one of low–mid intensity and/or of a
longer duration. Middles utilise this energy system because they continuously require energy production at an almost equal rate. 2.3 Wing Position
Requirements The wings are the two outermost players on a field. Wings must be quick and able to produce explosive efforts. In attack they should be
towards the sidelines anticipating opportunities to score, whilst defence they can move inwards more. (Wrexham Touch, 2010) Fitness Component

Aerobic Training Strategies Are Used For Training
Figure skating requires the athletes to use precise and nearly perfected executed moves during a routine. Aerobic Training strategies are used for
training figure skaters. Normal practice times run as long as two hours, two times a day totaling at least four hours on ice. "During a two hour training
session roughly 2,200 kcal/day are burned" (Bozeman, 1998). While a two hour training session, 250–300 kcal/hr are used. In order to keep a balanced
diet skaters are recommended to primarily intake carbohydrates. A normal calorie distribution consists of "60% Carbohydrate, 16% Protein, 24% Fat"
(Bozeman, 1998). This balanced diet targets the certain energy systems used for this sport. As mentioned before, coaches use an aerobic training... Show

"Skating combines elements of athleticism and artistry, requiring strength, flexibility, power, endurance, and grace" as stated by the International
Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance ( 2007). Skaters much have adequate aerobic endurance for performances, which can last up to 10
minutes as well as anaerobic capacities that can sustain bursts of energy for the many different types of jumps they present. These athletes commonly
incorporate interval training into their programs as it alternates activities between high and moderate intensities, similar to what they will encounter
during a performance. Considering that the sport requires an increased aerobic fitness, in order to provide the muscles with enough oxygen throughout
a performance (to supply the muscles to move properly) the athlete must either increase the total amount of time the body is under stress or the
intensity of the activity. Longer workouts targets the aerobic endurance where as the shorter and higher intensity workout increased the speed and
power. For instance, working with increased intensity will heighten the muscular and aerobic endurance. Intensity by pushing to the point of volitional
muscle fatigue creates an overload on the muscle tissue, which if repeated over time, will build a tolerance for it (pushing the threshold higher). If the
strength threshold is higher than being used, the lesser activity can be endured a longer period of

Synchronized Aerobics In Dance
I ended up being in NYC for a professional conference during the last weekend of ABT's NY run at the Koch Theatre at Lincoln Center. My wife and
I bit the bullet and purchased 2 last–minute tickets to see the performance on the evening of Friday, October 27, even if it included the new Millepied.
Or should I make that plural – two Millepieds, if we count the intermission synchronized aerobics by JKO students and ABT Studio dancers ? The
ballets on the main program included two Ratmanskys (the new Songs of Bukovina and relatively–new Serenade on Plato's Symposium), one
well–known Robbins work (Other Dances) and the new Millepied (I Feel the Earth Move). Hate to report that my/our instincts were correct with the
Millepied which may... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I've seen better performances of Robbins' Other Dances throughout the years but Isabella Boylston and Cory Stearns were still lovely, performing
with great musical sensitivity. The staging, by former POB etoile Isabelle Guerin, ensured correct phrasing and spirit. The lad, Cory Stearns, danced
with elegance and more facial excitement than I've seen from him in a while. Isabella Boylston truly floated in her slow mazurka variation,
displaying a grand range of emotions and sensitivity, be it slapping the floor or waving her arms in lyrical port de bras. Delicious! The timing of the
high lift–into–quick–drop in the mazurka coda (music made famous in Les Sylphides jete variation) was on the money. Exhilarating! And finally to
Ratmansky's Serenade on Plato's Symposium, to Bernstein piece for full orchestra and solo violin (yes, we finally had an entire orchestra in the pit
with the final ballet of the night). I see why most balletomanes love this clever, intellectual piece for seven solo males and one female who appears
in one of the last movements but...not exactly something for the general paying public. (If ABT only presented ballets like Plato, it would become
bankrupted very quickly.) Like Bukovina, it is a Ratmansky ballet to be seen many times to be truly appreciated, savouring every clever solo. OK,

Correlation Between Aerobic And Aerobic Fitness Levels
The analysis of the results of the current study demonstrated a significant difference between mean change in pulse rate of subjects able to complete
less than and greater than than 25 push ups (p < 0.05). The null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternate hypothesis (Ha) retained. This suggests a
correlation between aerobic and anaerobic fitness levels in completing high intensity exercise
In tests of endurance, aerobic glycolysis is the major source of energy to the body. The body requires energy at a less intense rate; so slower aerobic
glycolysis processes are sufficient to provide ATP over an extended time period (Ghosh 2004). Aerobic fitness depends upon many physiological
factors, including density of capillary vessels surrounding lung alveoli, number of mitochondria (site of ATP production) in cells and lung capacity
(Bogdanis et al. 1996; Tomlin and Wenger 2002; Ghosh 2004). A greater level of aerobic fitness will result in more efficientoxygen use, so oxygenated
blood will not need to be circulated at a much higher rate and pulse rate will not increase significantly. Pulse rate is proportional to the energy
required by the body (intensity of exercise) in regards to the aerobic capacity of an individual, so heart rate will increase in accordance to the body's
increasing energy demand during exercise (Г…strand and Ryhming 1954).
In the current study participants undertook a step up endurance activity, in which a pulse rate change was recorded for all

Aerobic Respiration And Aerobic Respiration
Aerobic respiration, also known as cellular respiration, is an essential process for the production of ATP and occurs in 3 metabolic stages. The stages
included are glycolysis, the Kreb's cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation. Throughout the whole process, glucose or various other saccharides are
broken down, producing CO2, ATP, NADH, Pyruvate, and FADH2. Aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration are very similar, the only difference
is the final electron acceptor, as Aerobic respiration involves oxygen. In order to study and detect how muchcellular respiration occurs in an organism,
the amount of glucose used, the amount of oxygen consumed, or the amount of CO2 given off can be measured. Bread, wine, and beer are all made
from yeast. Yeast must go through cellular respiration and produce CO2 in order for the bread to rise and form properly; however, different
monosaccharides may affect the level of CO2, measured in mL, given off by Saccharomyces cerevisiae (found in yeast), while affecting yeast's ability
to metabolize during glycolysis. Durham tubes (a sealed, cut–off 5 mL, pipette) can be used to measure the amount of CO2 produced as the yeast
metabolizes.
The approached used was to test the level of CO2 (mL) production, after different solutions with 1.5 mL of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and 4.5 mL and
either 1M of glucose, fructose, or galactose go through cellular respiration. The higher level of CO2 produced indicates the more cellular respiration
that took place. A

Aerobic Dancing and Weight Control Essay
Flat stomachs, tone arms, nice, firm buttocks, and nice shapely legs. This sounds like a familiar dream for many women in the world. Most do not
think it is possible for them to achieve, but clearly all it takes is time.
Aerobics dancing is one of the most effective aids in weight control, with the added benefits of improved self–esteem and confidence. Many people
cannot enjoy life due to their weight and other problems brought on by being overweight. Those who are overweight cannot mentally handle the thought
of going out and being seen. That is why solutions for keeping weight within an appropriate range for height, sex, and age are essential.
One of the most effective ways of reaching appropriate weight level is through aerobic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although there may be a sense of fatigue, dancers feel better about themselves. That is the feeling one gets when one thinks to himself "I feel like I
have lost at least ten pounds." In addition, that feeling is what helps to maintain mental health.
Exercise can and will change personal outlook, personal perceptions and this in turn affects other areas of life. Stress causes people to get agitated
easily and to always be tense. Dance aerobics has been shown to help relieve stress and allow anyone to feel more relaxed. "Following a regular
aerobics program gives you a sense of commitment and control – two positive mental attitudes that help counteract stress. Aerobics also relax tense
muscles, thereby completing (and relieving) your body's stress response. Finally, medical research has shown that regular aerobic activity increases
the body's production of endorphins (a natural sedative) and catecholamines (chemical substances that help stabilize moods)." (Aerobics for Health)
Many times people are stressed about their weight, and this may cause depression. As Missett has stated in her book, The Jazzercise Workout Book,
"Exercise has been proven more effective than antidepressants." (21) She goes on to point out, "Stress can cause people to eat more than they should,
causing more stress because they have realized how much more they have gained." (19) She goes on to assert that "many stress related problems have
occurred to many people due to lack of

Aerobic Respiration And Aerobic Respiration
Since the beginning of the world there has always been one question in common between people around the planet. The question is: 'how did we come
to existence?'. However, the answer is not always the same because everyone has different believes, but according to science eukaryotes came to
existence because we evolved from prokaryotic cells. At the beginning of time, the only inhabitants of earth were microbes. Aerobiccellular respiration
and oxygenic photosynthesis both play a big role in our evolution. Cellular respiration is a process that mostly takes place in the mitochondria where
cells break down food and turn in it into adenosine triphosphate(ATP), or in more simpler terms, energy for the cell. Although cellular respiration can
do either anaerobic or aerobic cellular respiration processes, it is usually used to describe aerobic cellular respiration because it actually was
created as a synonym for aerobic respiration. Aerobic cellular respiration is the process where oxygen is used to make energy molecules. Aerobic
respiration creates a lot more ATP molecules than in anaerobic respiration because anaerobic does not use oxygen as a reactant. Aerobic cellular
respiration goes through three steps, and they are: glycolysis, citric acid cycle (Krebs cycle), and oxidative phosphorylation. Glycolysis means
separating sugars, and in that process every glucose is turned into two pyruvate molecules. It then enters the mitochondria if it is a eukaryotic cell and

Aerobic Work Capacity
The direction of our discussion followed the questions very closely. In fact, every member of the discussion was successfully able to provide some
input and some of their own personal experience in response to every question. We began by discussing the importance of an individual's aerobic
work capacity within athletics, and then we related this importance to its relevance to firefighters. When I asked the group for personal examples,
they were easily able to provide some examples of how aerobic work capacity has impacted their lives. For example, one member of the group played
basketball for four years in high school. Her head coach constantly emphasized the importance of their cardiorespiratory fitness, while also educating
his players about aerobic work capacity. Aerobic work capacity can dictate how well an athlete performs, particularly in a high–intensity sport such as
basketball. We spent a fair amount of time going through everyone's personal examples of aerobic work capacity in their lives, while also
remembering to correlate this to the article's discussion of the importance of aerobic work capacity for a firefighter's performance. We concluded that
the article's findings and results were legitimate and fair. Everyone in the group agreed that aerobic work capacity is important for firefighters, but also
for athletes and workers worldwide. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Water Aerobics for Older Adults
Group Proposal (1) The Group and type: (i) Water Aerobics for Older Adults: Water aerobics is an ideal exercise for elderly adults having limited
physical mobility or adults for whom the rigours of traditional cardiovascular exercise causes muscle and joint pain. These adults can safely rely on
water aerobics for maintaining an active lifestyle and physical fitness regardless of their age. (ii) The need for water aerobics among older adults:
(i) Even though some level of resistance is given while exercising in the water, muscle and joint injuries are prevented when in water, as the
medium is able to support most of the person's weight thereby lowering impact. (ii) Older adults get quicker results, building muscle tone and
strength in water compared to that of land due to resistance provided by water. (iii) Water aerobics enhances cardiovascular health as the heart beat
rate is maintained at a lower count which is just needed at that age. (iv) Land based exercises expose elders to unnecessary heat as well as other
complications which is absent in water aerobics. While doing water aerobics, they are able to remain in a cool and controlled environment particularly
in an indoor pool. (Carebuzz, 2009) (iii) Recruitment method employed for water aerobics: This will be primarily done by our Pool Club i.e.

Aerobic Exorcise: What Is Aerobics Exercise?
What is aerobics exercise?
According to many websites, aerobic exercise is defined as strenuous exercise that requires pumping of oxygenated blood by the heart to deliver
oxygen to working muscles. Aerobic exercise stimulates the heart rate and breathing rate to increase in a manner that is sustained for the entire session.
("Aerobic Exercise: Learn Examples and Routines") There are many different forms and levels of aerobics exercise such as low impact aerobics, water,
step, dance and sports aerobics. Each form of aerobics is used for different purposes suited to different people's needs. For example, people with back
injuries or those who are unable to take on a lot of physical stress due to age or prior injuries low impact aerobics is best suited.

Step aerobics was introduced in the 1980 as part of the aerobics craze, it provides a complete full body work out focusing on cardio. In such exercises
the muscle building effects are surprizing, although the focus is on cardio, in step aerobics the main muscle being worked are those of the lower body.
Because of the intense workout you will maintain a healthy body weight.
Dance aerobics, exercises the large muscles according to the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine it is "Essentially an hour's workout set
to music, a typical aerobics program begins with 5–10 minutes of warm–ups and stretching, peaks with 20–30 minutes of target heart range dance, can
include 20 minutes of a muscle stretching floor program known as body sculpting, and ends with 5–10 minutes of cool–down and more stretching"

The Effects of Aerobic Exercise Among Adolescents with Mild to Moderate Depression
Kaplan and Sadock (as cited in Brollier, Hamrick & Jacobson, 1994) stated that depression, during the teen years, has become an increasing area of
concern in psychiatry (Kaplan & Sadock, 1991. Kashani, Carlson, Beck, Hoeper, Corcoran, McAllister, Fallahi, Rosenberg and Reid (as cited in
Brollier, Hamrick ,& Jacobson, 1994) studied the prevalence of depression in adolescents and reported that approximately 8% of adolescents

Brown, Welsh, Labbe, Vitulli and Kulkarni (1992) found thataerobic exercise was beneficial for 54 depressed patients, of both sexes, with the average
age being 15.6 years of age. However, this study found that the female participants reported a greater amount of change in depression, anger,
exhaustion, anxiety and confusion, following the nine week study. Although the male subjects did see improvements in their psychological states, the
female participants were slightly better off. Another study conducted by Brollier et al. (1994) found that of the four adolescent, male participants they
were able to work with in their study, all were able to gain some benefit from the aerobic exercise of jogging. All the participants reported less
depressive symptoms, as well as enhanced energy, and a better self concept in general.

Hypothesis
We predict that aerobic exercise training will produce changes in the hippocampus both structurally and functionally. Its enhancement in terms of the
size will be correlated with improvements in the functions the hippocampal region is involved in. Particularly, exercise will develop young
individualsВґ memory consolidation, a process through which memories are stabilized in the long–term, but also the long–term potentiation
phenomenon of it. This means a better capacity for converting short–term memories and information into long–term ones. It is also predicted that
depression scores and risks of falling into a depressive mental disease will be lower in trained subjects.

Group 1 will be asked to live their normal lives without changing their routines and without doing any significant exercise. Groups 2 and 3 will

end of the day 4 days a week at a comfortable and regular pace. Except for this, they will be following their everyday routine.
The short–term memory capacity of these subjects before the aerobic exercise will be tested with the most common technique, which is a test called
Memory Span. It consists of showing the candidate a large list of random words, numbers or pictures one by one, one thing per second. Recognizable
and easy patterns mustnВґt be used.
In this case they will be shown a sequence of 7 pictures, 7 numbers and 7 words in a random order, making a total of 21 items. Having finished the
sequence, the candidate will be asked to recall all the items in the right order immediately. Only the items recalled in the right order will be taken into
account as a correct answer. The number of right responses of each member of both groups will be written down and saved.
In addition, a long–term memory test will be done. The individuals, just as in the short–term memory test, will have to memorize a list of random

Aerobic vs Anaerobic Exercise
Aerobic VS Anaerobic Exercise

ABSTRACT Being in the military has caused me to become a better athlete than I have been before. Running is one of our main focuses and in my
personal life I have strived to become better at it since I know that I despise running but need to improve on it. One of the things that I have learned is
that in order for a high performance runner to reach a level that is desired to help max out their run time for military standards, the individual needs to
have a focused training, training with an objective.
The obesity rate in America has continually spiked over the years as well. More than 30% of Americans do not do any kind of physical exercise. By

If someone is trying to quit smoking the more aerobics they do the less their cravings are to occur plus their lung function is greatly improved. For
people that may feel stressed or are combating depression according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services research aerobics helps
lower these by raising the self–esteem and physical awareness.
I perform both types of training several times a week; therefore, I can describe what my body feels like after each training session. When I finish
an anaerobic training, I feel my legs are heavier and numb after all the effort that I have put in on the exercises along with the body aches which are
a result of the lactic acid produced by my muscles; however I can breathe perfectly well after 5 minutes. After an aerobic training, I feel my muscles
are looser and weaker along with my lungs feeling stretched and my recovery can last up to an hour depending on the distance that I have run.
An individual that wishes to improve their run should do both aerobic and anaerobic training to balance out their workout; we shouldn't choose only
one because they are equally important to grow as a competitive runner and to reach that goal of maxing out the military standards for their age
bracket. For society as a whole in the U.S., I strongly think that aerobic exercise of any sort, even if it is just going for a walk or a slight jog, will help

The Effect Of Aerobic Capacity On University Students
How anaerobic capacity influences aerobic capacity in university students as determined by differences in pulse rate before and after a step–up test
Introduction
During physical activity, the body must produce energy for muscle contraction. There are two different methods that the body can use (Г…strand
1956), which are dependent on the availability of oxygen and the nature of the exercise (Yip 2010). Moderate intensity exercise uses aerobic
respiration while high intensity exercise uses anaerobic respiration (Yip 2010). Aerobic respiration requires oxygen in order to provide energy; this
method produces significantly more adenosine triphosphate (ATP) compared to anaerobic respiration and thus allows for longer lasting moderate...

Research strongly suggests that aerobic fitness can be improved via intense anaerobic activities (Bogdanis et al. 1995). Specifically, the VO2 max a
person has can be improved by anaerobic exercise (Swain 2007), and this in turn improves their aerobic fitness due to the nature of aerobic
respiration which uses oxygen. This report aims to explore if and how an individual's anaerobic fitness level might influence their ability to carry out
aerobic exercises, i.e. are people who are anaerobically fit also aerobically fit? Thus, in considering relevant literature, the alternative hypothesis of this
experiment is that yes, if an individual is anaerobically fit, then they are also aerobically fit. The null hypothesis is that there will be no correlation
between an individual's anaerobic and aerobic fitness.
Participants were instructed to perform as many push–ups as they could, then after resting, their pulse rate was taken. Then they undertook a moderate
step–up exercise for 4 minutes and their pulse rate was measured again. The maximum number of push–ups was recorded and these values were
compared against the individuals' change in pulse rate before and after the step–up exercise. Statistical significance was determined using a t–test.
This research could contribute to helping individuals in improving their fitness levels, especially if one is specifically looking to improve either
aerobic or anaerobic fitness. It would

Rock Fitness Center Executive Summary
The Rock Fitness Center has decided to introduce new programs to appeal to a wider audience, particularly the Baby Boomers. Our goal is for
everyone to be active. Therefore, we have chosen to offer these new programs, aerobics and strength training, as an incentive for people to want to
begin or continue to exercise. Many people are becoming less active with modern day technology, but we hope to counteract that trend with our new
programs. Particularly, we chose to implement these programs for the Baby Boomers. It is important to have programs for this age group "because
people ages 55 and older are the fastest–growing health club membership group– having increased 411 percent since 1990" (Milbrand 2009).
Furthermore, it is important to introduce new programs to appeal to the baby boomer audience to benefit the gym and the clients.
Aerobics
The first exercise program is aerobics. This program will include water aerobics, step aerobics, Zumba Gold, and cardio. Each day of the week will be a
different aerobics class. On Monday, we will have the cardio class. On Tuesday, we will have the Zumba Gold class (a milder version of Zumba). On
Thursday, we will have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, exercise is essential to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. As people age, it is becomes harder to stay healthy and strong. As Davis (2007)

arthritis, hypertension, diabetes or heart disease, all of which can be improved through exercise (IHRSA 2004)." Therefore, this aerobics program
will be very beneficial to the client's health. Movement is necessary in living a long healthy life, and that is what this program is all about. Physical
health can add to one's mental health as well. When one is comfortable in his or her own body, he or she will be more likely to be comfortable in every

The Benefits Of Aerobic Exercise
Aerobic exercise has been studied and through those studies researchers have found that aerobic exercise improves the cognitive abilities of young
adults. Some of the cognitive abilities improved are learning, memory, and decision making. Through aerobic exercise these cognitive abilities are
improved and sharpened. Aerobic exercise stimulates the hippocampus which is the area responsible for memory and partly for learning. Another part
aerobic exercise stimulates is the frontal cortex which is the area responsible for decision making. Aerobic exercise also stimulates many parts of the
brain that together are responsible for our learning. Aerobic exercise combined with mental training is what helps further the cognitive abilities of
young adults. Through aerobic exercise the cognitive abilities of young adults improve to new heights. Aerobic exercise has many beneficial effects
in the cognitive abilities of young adults. One of the big parts that aerobic exercise helps young adults with is learning. Young adults performing
aerobic exercise experience an increase in volume in the hippocampus which helps benefit learning. The hippocampus is one of the parts in our brain
responsible for our learning. Aerobic exercise through studies has been shown to stimulate this part in our brains. In "Aerobic Exercise for New Brain
Cells and Cognitive Performance" the director states that aerobic exercise can double the production of new brain cells in the hippocampus. This leads
to new brain connections that in turn improve the amount of information we can handle. One reason that aerobic exercise helps stimulate the
hippocampus is because it also stimulates BDNF production. BDNF production is a nerve growth factor that boosts the growth of new brain cells in
the hippocampus. This leads to new brain cells being form which in turn improves cognitive abilities and mood. While aerobic exercise does stimulate
the hippocampus which boosts our learning, it is still important to put in mental training so the new brains cells remain and don't die off. Through
aerobic exercise young adults will be able to handle more information which in turn will help increase their performance in academics. Another
cognitive ability that

Summary on Aerobic and Anaerobic Endurance in Badminton
INTRODUCTION: Badminton requires a high level of energy to quickly move around the court, deliver effective shots and sustain a match. Knowing
how this energy is generated is crucial. All other things being equal, the player with more stamina will most likely win a match in baminton. This is
because while good stroke skills, effective shot placements and fast footwork are important characteristics in a good player, fitness is necessary in
executing and sustaining these movements for the duration of a match. As a player's energy is depleted, his or her ability to perform also goes down.
The Nature of Badminton: Unlike marathon or jogging, moves in badminton vary from standing to slow and sudden actions. Predominantly, however,

the opposing team's side of the court. Fitness can play an important part in your enjoyment and success in badminton. AEROBIC ENDURANCE:
Badminton matches can be quite long, so aerobic fitness is an important part of the sport. To develop your aerobic fitness, jog, cycle, swim or row
for 20 or more minutes at least three times a week. To ensure you get the most from your aerobic training, keep your heart rate between 60 percent and
90 percent of your maximum. ANAEROBIC ENDURANCE: Because of the start–stop nature of badminton, you will benefit from performing interval
training. Interval training consists of alternating between periods of high–intensity work and low–intensity recovery. For example, you might spring
for 30 seconds and walk for 90 seconds. This type of training simulates the ebb and flow of a badminton match. MUSCULAR ENDURANCE: During
a badminton match, you will be required to run, lunge, jump and sprint for the duration of the game. To achieve this you

Title: The effect of high intensity and continuous endurance training on aerobic capacity
Aerobic fitness is the body ability to exercise for prolonged time whereby most of the energy came from the aerobic capacity and cardiovascular

in the athletic performance are affected by how much work performed during training and specific athletes can only reach their potential by doing

Students should begin by analyzing the capacity of the facility; however, the analysis is not as straightforward as it first may seem. There is an issue
of how capacity should be measured. Students should quickly recognize that an overall measure of capacity for the facility isn't much help in
determining if Fitness Plus is capacity constrained. If the service delivery process for each member were homogeneous, such as a cafeteria or airline
flight, then an overall measure of capacity, such as the number of members serviced over a given period of time, would be an appropriate measure of

With these issues in mind, the students can develop capacity estimates similar to the following:
1.Aerobics
*Assumption: Aerobics classes begin on the hour and last for 50 minutes.
*Capacity: 1 class per hour for 35 members
2.Cardiovascular
*Assumption: During peak demand times, each piece of equipment is limited to 30 minutes per member.
*Capacity: With 29 pieces of C–V equipment, 58 members per hour peak capacity
3.Nautilus
*Assumptions: Each member takes 1 minute to complete each exercise. The machines are set up so members flow through in a sequential manner.
*Capacity: Maximum capacity at a steady state; cycle time 1 minute. 60 members per hour
Over the three–hour peak demand period, the Nautilus area may only process 156 members because it will take 24 minutes for the first member to
complete the entire 24–machine cycle.
These three areas of the club are the major areas of concern due to customer complaints, and they are where students should concentrate their analysis.
The tennis and racquetball areas can service the following number of members per hour:
Tennis:12 members/hour for singles 24 members/hour for doubles
Racquetball:16 members/hour for singles 32 members/hour for doubles
There were no details given in the case to determine the capacity of the free–weight area. So, if we aggregate the individual capacities into an overall
measure, the club can accommodate a peak capacity of 181 to 209

The Components Of Aerobic Power
Exercise in general has been known to reep many benefits in health of the body, for example the seven components of fitness as mentioned in 'ABC of
sports and exercise medicine, third edition by Sir Roger Bannister'. (Edited by Gregory P Whyte)
These components include aerobic power, which can be typically described as VO2 max, this is the maximal amount of oxygen the body can take in
and use efficiently. The amount of oxygen taken in can be influenced greatly by the cardiovascular systems ability to deliver oxygenated blood to
exercising muscles, the lungs ability to oxygenate the blood and the muscles ability to use the oxygen and extract it for sustained contractions. Disease
and inactivity therefore can impair or inhibit these factors consequently reducing a persons ability to function.
The second component is the metabolic function in the body, which can be used to control blood sugar levels. During exercise this can be tested by
the ability to deal with changes in muscle and blood PH, the more active someone is leads to higher endurance to metabolites and therefore less muscle
fatigue.
This component can also be linked in with the third component of muscular endurance, with age this factor is often limited by lack of muscular
strength due to shorter bouts of exercise being performed.
The fourth component of fitness involves coordination and balance, which is highly important for bone structure and being aware of the positions of
joints.
The fifth component includes

Hypothesis: If test tubes 2–5 with different amounts of succinate are tested to see which one has the highest transmittance, then test tube 4 with
additional succinate should have the highest transmittance and have the fastest rate of reaction. If test tubes 1–5 of sugar & yeast mixtures are placed
in different incubation temperatures, (0 Н¦, 30 Н¦ , 45 Н¦, 60 Н¦, and 100 Н¦ C) then test tube 3 placed in an incubation temperature of 45 Н¦ will

Evaluation of the Components of Fitness and an Analysis to Their Relevance of Touch Football
Touch football is a type of football in which the ball carrier is downed by touching instead of tackling. In the game of touch football, there are many
different fitness components that relate to specific touch positions. This essay will evaluate the components of fitness and analysis their relevance to
touch football. To complete this, a series of fitness tests were done to help determine my suitability to touch football resulting in a recommendation
outlining my suitability to a specific touch football position, based on my fitness.

This test showed which players would be more suitable to the middle position, as they are fitter. It is also specific to the nature of touch football,
due to the short sharp turns. The second aerobic capacity test we completed was the 12 minute run. For this test we had to run for 12 minutes trying
to complete the maximum distance we could. My ratings for this test were good, (see appendix 1). These tests can be related to touch football, as
touch football requires aerobic fitness because players need to be able to last a 40 minute game of continuous running. Even though in touch you have
a number of subs, you are continuously subbing on and off. You do not get much rest, as the game is very vigorous. Aerobic capacity is mainly for the
middle position in touch football, as they have to run a lot more during the game and are the fittest players on the field, (SportingPulse, 2013).
Muscular endurance is being able to work a muscle or muscle group for a long period of time at less than maximum effort, (Amezdrox, G. Dickens, S,
Hosford, G. and Davis, D. 2012). Muscular endurance was tested by completing a sit up and push up test. My rating for the sit up test were super and
for the push up test my rating was excellent, (see appendix 1). These tests were chosen instead of others because if you have a strong core whilst
playing touch football, it is seen that you can perform better and this is what these tests work on, (Touch Football Australia, 2013).

The Physical Activity Guidelines For Americans ( U.s....
One thousand, four hundred forty–this is the number minutes everyone is given to spend as they so choose each day. Some may wonder how best to
spend this time to not only fulfill God–given purposes but also to ensure a long healthy life that can be enjoyed with loved ones. Most people realize
the importance of eating a well–balanced, nutritious diet and drinking plenty of water to be healthy. However, when it comes to exercise, opinions
vary on what is best. Many doctors urge patients to simply walk more, however, an equivalent amount of time spent performing some form of
resistance training versus walking may be the superior choice. Resistance (or strength) training improves a person's overall health, enhances their
quality of life, and can increase life expectancy.
According to the 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2008), which is a publication
explaining the current recommendation for physical activity by the US government, adults should perform a minimum of 150 minutes of
moderate–intensity aerobic exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise per week along with muscle–strengthening activities on 2 or more days per
week (p. 22). While it is admirable that strength training is included in these recommendations, it does not receive near as much emphasis as aerobic
activity. When most people think of resistance training, they think of the dangers or injuries that could be incurred from weightlifting; "however,

noticed my feet hurt after going to the mailbox. It also did not help that my family gained weight quite easily, and my family has a very alarming
health history. Although, there are not any drug addictions, diabetes runs in the family. I resorted to Xylitol and Coconut sugars as a health prevention

overweight from poor eating habits. I decided to not follow in their

Perceptions And Stereotypes Of Aerobics

  • 1. Perceptions and Stereotypes of Aerobics With 600,000 people across Australia who have participated in aerobics at one point in time, it can be manifested that aerobics is one of the most marginalized sports within the country (Ausport, 2000). With such a marginalized sport, there are many stereotypes that are associated with just the word aerobics. This is explored through the survey that was conducted and was answered by the students at StAC. Many of the stereotypes that are believed in society are that aerobics is a sport dominated by females and that it more of a dance class. This report will evaluate the possible influences that have shaped students' perceptions using Figueroa's Framework and Maslow's hierarchy. Aerobics is a form of physical exercise that combines rhythmic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The lack of sponsorship could be a reason why there is a insufficiency of participants in aerobics. This leads us on to the next point, the institutional level. Institutional level 2.2 The institutional level of Figueroa's framework level examines the institutions within society that affect sport and physical activity (Kirk, 2004). Institutions such as schools, community groups, sporting clubs, and religious groups are able to help shape positive attitudes to sport and physical activity. The accessibility of aerobics classes and equipment are very limited compared to many other sports. In the Brisbane area there are only 3 aerobics classes compared to the 1219 rugby league classes (Google maps, 2013). This is a staggering 400 times more and is very influential to the fact that participation levels are lower and can be the reason why many people view it as a dance class due to the lack of availability of facilities. There are also no aerobics competitions within Australia and this is another factor in influencing people's perceptions. Schools feature prominently when discussing how people's early attitudes towards sport are shaped. Some schools with strong sporting traditions reinforce participation in sport. The sports that students are encouraged to participate in can depend on the school's history and traditions, the facilities and equipment available, and the expertise of the ... • 2. Touch Football Training Report Title Page Name of report, author, data, whole page for title page Introduction This task is about applying a 5–week training program which aims at improving my physical capabilities as a touch football player in order to find and justify a position based on my fitness level. I will discuss and evaluate the link between each position and the amount of fitness required to strive in a youth district level touch football environment. My best position will be evaluated and justified by the results of the pre–training tests and the post–training tests which I took part in. Methodology Over the course of this term, I have participated in five fitness tests and will participate in five post–fitness tests which have effect in touch football in order... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My slight improvements may be due to the fact that what was done in the 5–week training program was not enough for my body to improve enough to succeed reliably in touch football. During all of these tests, my shoulder injury has impacted on these results and the weather has also been one of the other major factors within these tests. For example, during the Glycolic Agility Test, on that day the weather was extremely dry which made me slip on the grass. This created additional effort in trying to stabilise myself the entire time and it would have slowed me down as well. Also, another factor which effected these tests was the fact that I was already fatigued from swimming training which I attend ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Effect Of Aerobic Exercise On Aerobic Capacity INTRODUCTION The body constantly needs energy to work. This energy, at the cellular level, supplied in the form of chemical potential energy stored in ATP needs to be regeneration in order to fuel more cellular activity and this can be done aerobically or anaerobically(Astrand 1956). Energy to sustain high intensity workouts cannot eventually be fully supported by anaerobic pathways, resulting in an increased reliance on aerobic metabolism (Bogdanis et al. 1996). The level of fitness to carry out anaerobic exercises may be influenced by aerobic capacity (Kaikkonen et al.2000, Tomlin and Wegner 2011). By discovering the relationship between anaerobic fitness and aerobic fitness. It should be possible for athletes to think about taking an advantage by distributing their physical energy during a match properly or, for any individuals to understand or make their personal fitness program. The aim of this study is to compare the maximum number of push–ups achieved by tested individuals against their change in pulse rate measure before and after a moderate step–up exercise; and determine how the ability of anaerobic fitness influences aerobic exercise. It was predicted that being anaerobically fit do not assist in aerobic exercise. METHOD Refer to the School of Biological Sciences (2015). See Appendix 1 for Null and Alternate hypotheses RESULTS There is a total of 137 tested individuals involved. There are 49 observations who did less than 25 push–ups and a number of 88 ... INTRODUCTION The word 'yoga' comes from 'yuj' in sanskrit, which means 'unity' or 'Yoke' the relative meaning is to concentrate attention or 'use'. 'Asana' is one of the most significant tools of yoga helping to position the body in various positions with the total participation of the mind and self to establish communication between our inner and outer self (Iyengar, 2001). Yoga practices assume a critical part in the support of human systems. Yoga perfect builds up the body as well as produces intellectual capacities. Moreover, yogis procure dominance of the involuntary muscles of their body (A.M. Moorthy and J. David Manual Raju, 1983). In this study we try to discover the effects of aerobic dance and yogic practice on blood lipid profiles among university students. Yoga provides techniques (physically, mentally, intellectually and emotionally) for this growth. These techniques are also therapeutically useful for many of the stress–related problems. Sound health is an adjusted advancement of a person's identity and enthusiastic dispositions, empowering him to live in harmony with his condition. It is only a great adjustment to the biological balance in our body and this can be achieved by doing yogic practices and exercises: "Yoga has a total message for mankind, has a message for the human body, has a message for the human personality and has a message for the human soul." –Swami Kuvalayananda 2 regulates the dietary model and has a ... (Amezdroz, 2010) Passing and catching is an essential part of being a middle, whether it is receiving from the dummy half or passing out to a wing; these movements require limbs to move in the right direction and at the right speed to be preformed effectively. Energy System Requirements A game of touch requires the use of all energy systems at once but in varied amounts. The body will automatically choose which energy system it requires the most based on the fitness components used. It has been identified above that the three main components used by a middle are; Aerobic capacity, muscular endurance and coordination. In figure 12.5 it shows the relationship between components of fitness and energy systems. Both aerobic capacity and muscular endurance relate to the Aerobic system. The aerobic system uses oxygen and is generally one of low–mid intensity and/or of a longer duration. Middles utilise this energy system because they continuously require energy production at an almost equal rate. 2.3 Wing Position Requirements The wings are the two outermost players on a field. Wings must be quick and able to produce explosive efforts. In attack they should be towards the sidelines anticipating opportunities to score, whilst defence they can move inwards more. Aerobic Training strategies are used for training figure skaters. Normal practice times run as long as two hours, two times a day totaling at least four hours on ice. "During a two hour training session roughly 2,200 kcal/day are burned" (Bozeman, 1998). While a two hour training session, 250–300 kcal/hr are used. In order to keep a balanced diet skaters are recommended to primarily intake carbohydrates. A normal calorie distribution consists of "60% Carbohydrate, 16% Protein, 24% Fat" (Bozeman, 1998). This balanced diet targets the certain energy systems used for this sport. As mentioned before, coaches use an aerobic training... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... "Skating combines elements of athleticism and artistry, requiring strength, flexibility, power, endurance, and grace" as stated by the International Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance ( 2007). Skaters much have adequate aerobic endurance for performances, which can last up to 10 minutes as well as anaerobic capacities that can sustain bursts of energy for the many different types of jumps they present. These athletes commonly incorporate interval training into their programs as it alternates activities between high and moderate intensities, similar to what they will encounter during a performance. Considering that the sport requires an increased aerobic fitness, in order to provide the muscles with enough oxygen throughout a performance (to supply the muscles to move properly) the athlete must either increase the total amount of time the body is under stress or the intensity of the activity. Longer workouts targets the aerobic endurance where as the shorter and higher intensity workout increased the speed and power. For instance, working with increased intensity will heighten the muscular and aerobic endurance. Intensity by pushing to the point of volitional muscle fatigue creates an overload on the muscle tissue, which if repeated over time, will build a tolerance for it (pushing the threshold higher). If the strength threshold is higher than being used, the lesser activity can be endured a longer period of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Synchronized Aerobics In Dance I ended up being in NYC for a professional conference during the last weekend of ABT's NY run at the Koch Theatre at Lincoln Center. My wife and I bit the bullet and purchased 2 last–minute tickets to see the performance on the evening of Friday, October 27, even if it included the new Millepied. Or should I make that plural – two Millepieds, if we count the intermission synchronized aerobics by JKO students and ABT Studio dancers ? The ballets on the main program included two Ratmanskys (the new Songs of Bukovina and relatively–new Serenade on Plato's Symposium), one well–known Robbins work (Other Dances) and the new Millepied (I Feel the Earth Move). Hate to report that my/our instincts were correct with the Millepied which may... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I've seen better performances of Robbins' Other Dances throughout the years but Isabella Boylston and Cory Stearns were still lovely, performing with great musical sensitivity. The staging, by former POB etoile Isabelle Guerin, ensured correct phrasing and spirit. The lad, Cory Stearns, danced with elegance and more facial excitement than I've seen from him in a while. Isabella Boylston truly floated in her slow mazurka variation, displaying a grand range of emotions and sensitivity, be it slapping the floor or waving her arms in lyrical port de bras. Delicious! The timing of the high lift–into–quick–drop in the mazurka coda (music made famous in Les Sylphides jete variation) was on the money. Exhilarating! And finally to Ratmansky's Serenade on Plato's Symposium, to Bernstein piece for full orchestra and solo violin (yes, we finally had an entire orchestra in the pit with the final ballet of the night). I see why most balletomanes love this clever, intellectual piece for seven solo males and one female who appears in one of the last movements but...not exactly something for the general paying public. (If ABT only presented ballets like Plato, it would become bankrupted very quickly.) Like Bukovina, it is a Ratmansky ballet to be seen many times to be truly appreciated, savouring every clever solo. OK, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Correlation Between Aerobic And Aerobic Fitness Levels The analysis of the results of the current study demonstrated a significant difference between mean change in pulse rate of subjects able to complete less than and greater than than 25 push ups (p < 0.05). The null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternate hypothesis (Ha) retained. This suggests a correlation between aerobic and anaerobic fitness levels in completing high intensity exercise In tests of endurance, aerobic glycolysis is the major source of energy to the body. The body requires energy at a less intense rate; so slower aerobic glycolysis processes are sufficient to provide ATP over an extended time period (Ghosh 2004). Aerobic fitness depends upon many physiological factors, including density of capillary vessels surrounding lung alveoli, number of mitochondria (site of ATP production) in cells and lung capacity (Bogdanis et al. 1996; Tomlin and Wenger 2002; Ghosh 2004). A greater level of aerobic fitness will result in more efficientoxygen use, so oxygenated blood will not need to be circulated at a much higher rate and pulse rate will not increase significantly. Pulse rate is proportional to the energy required by the body (intensity of exercise) in regards to the aerobic capacity of an individual, so heart rate will increase in accordance to the body's increasing energy demand during exercise (Г…strand and Ryhming 1954). In the current study participants undertook a step up endurance activity, in which a pulse rate change was recorded for all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Aerobic Respiration And Aerobic Respiration Aerobic respiration, also known as cellular respiration, is an essential process for the production of ATP and occurs in 3 metabolic stages. The stages included are glycolysis, the Kreb's cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation. Throughout the whole process, glucose or various other saccharides are broken down, producing CO2, ATP, NADH, Pyruvate, and FADH2. Aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration are very similar, the only difference is the final electron acceptor, as Aerobic respiration involves oxygen. In order to study and detect how muchcellular respiration occurs in an organism, the amount of glucose used, the amount of oxygen consumed, or the amount of CO2 given off can be measured. Bread, wine, and beer are all made from yeast. Yeast must go through cellular respiration and produce CO2 in order for the bread to rise and form properly; however, different monosaccharides may affect the level of CO2, measured in mL, given off by Saccharomyces cerevisiae (found in yeast), while affecting yeast's ability to metabolize during glycolysis. Durham tubes (a sealed, cut–off 5 mL, pipette) can be used to measure the amount of CO2 produced as the yeast metabolizes. The approached used was to test the level of CO2 (mL) production, after different solutions with 1.5 mL of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and 4.5 mL and either 1M of glucose, fructose, or galactose go through cellular respiration. The higher level of CO2 produced indicates the more cellular respiration that took place. A ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most do not think it is possible for them to achieve, but clearly all it takes is time. Aerobics dancing is one of the most effective aids in weight control, with the added benefits of improved self–esteem and confidence. Many people cannot enjoy life due to their weight and other problems brought on by being overweight. Those who are overweight cannot mentally handle the thought of going out and being seen. Dance aerobics has been shown to help relieve stress and allow anyone to feel more relaxed. "Following a regular aerobics program gives you a sense of commitment and control – two positive mental attitudes that help counteract stress. Aerobics also relax tense muscles, thereby completing (and relieving) your body's stress response. Finally, medical research has shown that regular aerobic activity increases the body's production of endorphins (a natural sedative) and catecholamines (chemical substances that help stabilize moods)." • 14. Aerobic Respiration And Aerobic Respiration Since the beginning of the world there has always been one question in common between people around the planet. The question is: 'how did we come to existence?'. However, the answer is not always the same because everyone has different believes, but according to science eukaryotes came to existence because we evolved from prokaryotic cells. At the beginning of time, the only inhabitants of earth were microbes. Aerobiccellular respiration and oxygenic photosynthesis both play a big role in our evolution. Cellular respiration is a process that mostly takes place in the mitochondria where cells break down food and turn in it into adenosine triphosphate(ATP), or in more simpler terms, energy for the cell. Although cellular respiration can do either anaerobic or aerobic cellular respiration processes, it is usually used to describe aerobic cellular respiration because it actually was created as a synonym for aerobic respiration. Aerobic cellular respiration is the process where oxygen is used to make energy molecules. Aerobic respiration creates a lot more ATP molecules than in anaerobic respiration because anaerobic does not use oxygen as a reactant. Aerobic cellular respiration goes through three steps, and they are: glycolysis, citric acid cycle (Krebs cycle), and oxidative phosphorylation. Glycolysis means separating sugars, and in that process every glucose is turned into two pyruvate molecules. It then enters the mitochondria if it is a eukaryotic cell and the pyruvate ... In fact, every member of the discussion was successfully able to provide some input and some of their own personal experience in response to every question. We began by discussing the importance of an individual's aerobic work capacity within athletics, and then we related this importance to its relevance to firefighters. When I asked the group for personal examples, they were easily able to provide some examples of how aerobic work capacity has impacted their lives. For example, one member of the group played basketball for four years in high school. Her head coach constantly emphasized the importance of their cardiorespiratory fitness, while also educating his players about aerobic work capacity. Aerobic work capacity can dictate how well an athlete performs, particularly in a high–intensity sport such as basketball. We spent a fair amount of time going through everyone's personal examples of aerobic work capacity in their lives, while also remembering to correlate this to the article's discussion of the importance of aerobic work capacity for a firefighter's performance. I perform both types of training several times a week; therefore, I can describe what my body feels like after each training session. When I finish an anaerobic training, I feel my legs are heavier and numb after all the effort that I have put in on the exercises along with the body aches which are a result of the lactic acid produced by my muscles; however I can breathe perfectly well after 5 minutes. Specifically, the VO2 max a person has can be improved by anaerobic exercise (Swain 2007), and this in turn improves their aerobic fitness due to the nature of aerobic respiration which uses oxygen. This report aims to explore if and how an individual's anaerobic fitness level might influence their ability to carry out aerobic exercises, i.e. are people who are anaerobically fit also aerobically fit? Each of the three partners will put up $10,000 of their own money, and the other $10,000 will be acquired through a three–year bank loan at a 4.29% interest rate, which will cost about $297 per month. • 31. The Benefits Of Aerobic Exercise Aerobic exercise has been studied and through those studies researchers have found that aerobic exercise improves the cognitive abilities of young adults. Some of the cognitive abilities improved are learning, memory, and decision making. Through aerobic exercise these cognitive abilities are improved and sharpened. Aerobic exercise stimulates the hippocampus which is the area responsible for memory and partly for learning. Another part aerobic exercise stimulates is the frontal cortex which is the area responsible for decision making. Aerobic exercise also stimulates many parts of the brain that together are responsible for our learning. Aerobic exercise combined with mental training is what helps further the cognitive abilities of young adults. Through aerobic exercise the cognitive abilities of young adults improve to new heights. Aerobic exercise has many beneficial effects in the cognitive abilities of young adults. One of the big parts that aerobic exercise helps young adults with is learning. Young adults performing aerobic exercise experience an increase in volume in the hippocampus which helps benefit learning. The hippocampus is one of the parts in our brain responsible for our learning. Aerobic exercise through studies has been shown to stimulate this part in our brains. In "Aerobic Exercise for New Brain Cells and Cognitive Performance" the director states that aerobic exercise can double the production of new brain cells in the hippocampus. This leads to new brain connections that in turn improve the amount of information we can handle. One reason that aerobic exercise helps stimulate the hippocampus is because it also stimulates BDNF production. BDNF production is a nerve growth factor that boosts the growth of new brain cells in the hippocampus. This leads to new brain cells being form which in turn improves cognitive abilities and mood. While aerobic exercise does stimulate the hippocampus which boosts our learning, it is still important to put in mental training so the new brains cells remain and don't die off. Through aerobic exercise young adults will be able to handle more information which in turn will help increase their performance in academics. Another cognitive ability that ... • 32. Summary on Aerobic and Anaerobic Endurance in Badminton INTRODUCTION: Badminton requires a high level of energy to quickly move around the court, deliver effective shots and sustain a match. Knowing how this energy is generated is crucial. All other things being equal, the player with more stamina will most likely win a match in baminton. This is because while good stroke skills, effective shot placements and fast footwork are important characteristics in a good player, fitness is necessary in executing and sustaining these movements for the duration of a match. As a player's energy is depleted, his or her ability to perform also goes down. The Nature of Badminton: Unlike marathon or jogging, moves in badminton vary from standing to slow and sudden actions. Predominantly, however, badminton... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The oxygen energy system is, therefore, responsible in providing energy to the muscles in aerobic sports or steady state activities, such as marathon or long distance cycling. AIM OF AEROBIC AND ANAEROBIC ENDURANCE: Badminton is a popular sport that is played by individuals, same –sex and mixed pairs. A fast–paced sport, the aim of the game is to hit the shuttlecock––a small, feathered ball––over a net so that it touches the ground on the opposing team's side of the court. Fitness can play an important part in your enjoyment and success in badminton. AEROBIC ENDURANCE: Badminton matches can be quite long, so aerobic fitness is an important part of the sport. To develop your aerobic fitness, jog, cycle, swim or row for 20 or more minutes at least three times a week. To ensure you get the most from your aerobic training, keep your heart rate between 60 percent and 90 percent of your maximum. ANAEROBIC ENDURANCE: Because of the start–stop nature of badminton, you will benefit from performing interval training. Interval training consists of alternating between periods of high–intensity work and low–intensity recovery. For example, you might spring for 30 seconds and walk for 90 seconds. This type of training simulates the ebb and flow of a badminton match. MUSCULAR ENDURANCE: During a badminton match, you will be required to run, lunge, jump and sprint for the duration of the game. To achieve this you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also known as cardio is defined as a physical exercise of low to high intensity it stimulates the heart rate and the breathing rate. The myth that aerobic training is the only way to burn fat has been a myth from big media corporations. Doing aerobic training burns more calories, which in tales making your body need more calories to maintain. . Each individual has a certain calorie burn rate. so if your body burns 1000 cal. a day, and you only eat 1200 cal. a day. You have 200 cal to burn during your workout. So if you are not on a proper diet it is not beneficial to do all that cardio. Too much of the cardio while have your body store the cal that you would normally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Literature Review On Aerobic Training JOURNAL REVIEW: AEROBIC FITNESS Title: The effect of high intensity and continuous endurance training on aerobic capacity Aerobic fitness is the body ability to exercise for prolonged time whereby most of the energy came from the aerobic capacity and cardiovascular endurance. The most popular way been used to increase the aerobic capacity is the endurance training. An example of endurance training is LSD; this method of training involves performing exercise at a low intensity (57% VO2 max or 70% of maximum heart rate. Usually these type of training are means for athlete who going to compete in long distance event such as marathon, triathlon and ultra–marathon. According to Swain and Franklin (2005) higher training intensities had greater impact in cardiovascular protective system benefits compared than exercise at lower intensity, even the energy system is the same. The outcomes of the present study shows that both type of exercise had significant effect of increase the aerobic capacity thus a training program develop should overload the circulatory system and the stress the oxidative capacities of the skeletal muscle as well .Most of the coaches and athlete believe that improvement in the athletic performance are affected by how much work performed during training and specific athletes can only reach their potential by doing long duration of exercise bouts. According to Costill et al. (1978), such belief was no longer practical, because they found that an athlete's training in 1.5 hours per day performed as well as athlete training in 3 hours per ... • 35. Fitness Plus Students should begin by analyzing the capacity of the facility; however, the analysis is not as straightforward as it first may seem. There is an issue of how capacity should be measured. Students should quickly recognize that an overall measure of capacity for the facility isn't much help in determining if Fitness Plus is capacity constrained. If the service delivery process for each member were homogeneous, such as a cafeteria or airline flight, then an overall measure of capacity, such as the number of members serviced over a given period of time, would be an appropriate measure of capacity. However, the service delivery process at Fitness Plus is a menu–driven process where each member chooses from a range of services the club ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With these issues in mind, the students can develop capacity estimates similar to the following: 1.Aerobics *Assumption: Aerobics classes begin on the hour and last for 50 minutes. *Capacity: 1 class per hour for 35 members 2.Cardiovascular *Assumption: During peak demand times, each piece of equipment is limited to 30 minutes per member. *Capacity: With 29 pieces of C–V equipment, 58 members per hour peak capacity 3.Nautilus *Assumptions: Each member takes 1 minute to complete each exercise. The machines are set up so members flow through in a sequential manner. *Capacity: Maximum capacity at a steady state; cycle time 1 minute. 60 members per hour Over the three–hour peak demand period, the Nautilus area may only process 156 members because it will take 24 minutes for the first member to complete the entire 24–machine cycle. These three areas of the club are the major areas of concern due to customer complaints, and they are where students should concentrate their analysis. The tennis and racquetball areas can service the following number of members per hour: Tennis:12 members/hour for singles 24 members/hour for doubles Racquetball:16 members/hour for singles 32 members/hour for doubles There were no details given in the case to determine the capacity of the free–weight area. So, if we aggregate the individual capacities into an overall measure, the club can accommodate a peak capacity of 181 to 209

  • 37. The Components Of Aerobic Power Exercise in general has been known to reep many benefits in health of the body, for example the seven components of fitness as mentioned in 'ABC of sports and exercise medicine, third edition by Sir Roger Bannister'. (Edited by Gregory P Whyte) These components include aerobic power, which can be typically described as VO2 max, this is the maximal amount of oxygen the body can take in and use efficiently. The amount of oxygen taken in can be influenced greatly by the cardiovascular systems ability to deliver oxygenated blood to exercising muscles, the lungs ability to oxygenate the blood and the muscles ability to use the oxygen and extract it for sustained contractions. Disease and inactivity therefore can impair or inhibit these factors consequently reducing a persons ability to function. The second component is the metabolic function in the body, which can be used to control blood sugar levels. During exercise this can be tested by the ability to deal with changes in muscle and blood PH, the more active someone is leads to higher endurance to metabolites and therefore less muscle fatigue. This component can also be linked in with the third component of muscular endurance, with age this factor is often limited by lack of muscular strength due to shorter bouts of exercise being performed. The fourth component of fitness involves coordination and balance, which is highly important for bone structure and being aware of the positions of joints. The fifth component includes ... • 38. Aerobic Respiration Hypothesis: If test tubes 2–5 with different amounts of succinate are tested to see which one has the highest transmittance, then test tube 4 with additional succinate should have the highest transmittance and have the fastest rate of reaction. If test tubes 1–5 of sugar & yeast mixtures are placed in different incubation temperatures, (0 Н¦, 30 Н¦ , 45 Н¦, 60 Н¦, and 100 Н¦ C) then test tube 3 placed in an incubation temperature of 45 Н¦ will produced the most CO2, therefore ferment the most. If 6 different sugar solutions were combined with yeast to create a mixture, then the test tube with Lactose and Lactaid will ferment the most at an incubation temperature of 45 C Н¦. Introduction: Glucose sugar has to break down to make pyruvate, which is further broken down in the presence of oxygen or without oxygen. Aerobic respiration is a reaction that occurs in the presence of oxygen. It is very effective at producing 36–38 molecules of ATP after the whole reaction. Glucose molecules break down into 2 ... Touch Football: Fitness Components Evaluation Evaluation of the Components of Fitness and an Analysis to Their Relevance of Touch Football Touch football is a type of football in which the ball carrier is downed by touching instead of tackling. In the game of touch football, there are many different fitness components that relate to specific touch positions. This essay will evaluate the components of fitness and analysis their relevance to touch football. To complete this, a series of fitness tests were done to help determine my suitability to touch football resulting in a recommendation outlining my suitability to a specific touch football position, based on my fitness. In touch football the ball is passed between the attacking team to players that are onside, who will run or move ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This test showed which players would be more suitable to the middle position, as they are fitter. It is also specific to the nature of touch football, due to the short sharp turns. The second aerobic capacity test we completed was the 12 minute run. For this test we had to run for 12 minutes trying to complete the maximum distance we could. My ratings for this test were good, (see appendix 1). These tests can be related to touch football, as touch football requires aerobic fitness because players need to be able to last a 40 minute game of continuous running. Even though in touch you have a number of subs, you are continuously subbing on and off. You do not get much rest, as the game is very vigorous. Aerobic capacity is mainly for the middle position in touch football, as they have to run a lot more during the game and are the fittest players on the field, (SportingPulse, 2013). Muscular endurance is being able to work a muscle or muscle group for a long period of time at less than maximum effort, (Amezdrox, G. Dickens, S, Hosford, G. and Davis, D. 2012). Muscular endurance was tested by completing a sit up and push up test. My rating for the sit up test were super and for the push up test my rating was excellent, (see appendix 1). These tests were chosen instead of others because if you have a strong core whilst playing touch football, it is seen that you can perform better and this is what these tests work on, (Touch Football Australia, 2013). • 40. The Physical Activity Guidelines For Americans ( U.s.... One thousand, four hundred forty–this is the number minutes everyone is given to spend as they so choose each day. Some may wonder how best to spend this time to not only fulfill God–given purposes but also to ensure a long healthy life that can be enjoyed with loved ones. Most people realize the importance of eating a well–balanced, nutritious diet and drinking plenty of water to be healthy. However, when it comes to exercise, opinions vary on what is best. Many doctors urge patients to simply walk more, however, an equivalent amount of time spent performing some form of resistance training versus walking may be the superior choice. Resistance (or strength) training improves a person's overall health, enhances their quality of life, and can increase life expectancy. According to the 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2008), which is a publication explaining the current recommendation for physical activity by the US government, adults should perform a minimum of 150 minutes of moderate–intensity aerobic exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise per week along with muscle–strengthening activities on 2 or more days per week (p. 22). While it is admirable that strength training is included in these recommendations, it does not receive near as much emphasis as aerobic activity. When most people think of resistance training, they think of the dangers or injuries that could be incurred from weightlifting; "however, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the article, the purpose of this study was to verify and compare how the effect of 10 min of aerobic exercise performed above and below lactate threshold (LT) on executive control in children. In the article, it mentions how children are becoming sedentary. That means it increase the prevalence of overweight and low physical fitness. This much inactivity affects brain health and some aspects of cognition. It affects the executive control. It's something to be concern about because in childhood there are some extensive changes in the brain structure, function, and connectivity. If children can have an active lifestyle it may have protective effects on brain health across the lifespan. While reading I saw that it was no studies that ...
