Video Game Addiction Doc
1. What this production is about?
This production is a documentary about how kids can get addicted to
Video Games ”; it would focus on how some kids get into gaming and
how some of them become addicted to the point that they become unable
to stop playing them, I would have them sat down and talking to a
documenter about their experience about it and why its so addicting. This
would be broadcast on TV and to promote the show it would be put on the
TV Advertisements, Advertisements in the cinema’s and also promote the
show on popular social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace
etc.
2. Who Would be in my production team?
Director - A degree in journalism, media, film or communications is helpful. While earning
your degree you can earn money and stay in the business by working in TV.
Light and Sound Crew - Sound and Lights crew members will be responsible for helping to
run, move, store, maintain lighting and sound equipment , A sound and lights crew member
should have good work ethic and reliability and training.
Producer - A producer tends to the business and financial matters involved in making a
motion picture, television show or stage production. A producer may also work in other
industries, including the video game and computer software industries, dealing with similar
matters. There are no specific educational requirements to work as a producer, but many
employers require a bachelor's degree along with experience. Some producers who work in
the entertainment industry begin as actors or writers. Those who work in the video game or
software development industries often rise through the ranks of those fields, beginning as
testers or programmers. A degree in business management can prove to be very useful to a
producer.
Script Supervisor - Also known as the continuity person, the Script Supervisor keeps track
of what parts of the script have been filmed and makes notes of any deviations between
what was actually filmed and what appeared in the script. They make notes on every
shot, and keep track of props, blocking, and other details to ensure continuity from shot to
shot and scene to scene. The Script Supervisor's notes are given to the Editor to expedite
the editing process. The Script Supervisor works very closely with the Director on set.
Actor/Documenter - To be a successful actor you really have to have a passion for the craft
and the patience to wait for the big break. Although being an actor is extremely
rewarding, finding work can be a challenge. The profession requires great commitment and
fortitude. Have to have a lot of knowledge on the subject your covering.
3. Rates of my production crew
The basic workweek shall consist of any five (5) consecutive shooting days.
In the event a job shoots for a sixth (6th) consecutive shoot day: The rate for
the first ten (10) hours worked shall be one and one half (1.5x) times the basic
hourly rate. Work performed in excess of ten (10) hours shall be paid at two
(2x) times the basic hourly rate for the next two (2) hours and three (3x) times
the basic hourly rate thereafter.
In the event a job shoots for a seventh (7th) consecutive shoot day: The rate
for the first ten (10) hours worked shall be two (2x) times the basic hourly rate.
Work performed in excess of ten (10) hours shall be paid at, and not
exceed, three (3x) times the basic hourly rate.
Under no circumstances will the basic hourly rate exceed three times (3x) or
“Triple Time”.
4. Production Equipment
FX1000 Full HD Tape camcorder £3,600 – We would use this to capture
everything's from interviews to basic scenery shots to transition for
between each scene , this is an ideal choice as it would allow us to
capture film like shots but keep to a minimum budget.
Sony ECM CG50 – microphone £136 - High-quality 'shotgun' type
microphone for cameras and camcorders with microphone input jack
Pro-quality sound with smooth, extended frequency response, low noise
and wide dynamic range Highly directional response picks up dialog and
sounds from narrow region directly in front of the camera Supplied
spacer and shock mount holder reduces operating noise from camcorder
Supplied windshield reduces wind noise LF cut mode reduces low
frequencies for clearer, more intelligible speech.
PhotoSEL LS21E52 Professional Soft box Studio Lighting Kit with 2x85w
5400K CRI>90 Bulbs, 40x60cm Soft boxes £105.99 – Would be used so
that the people we are documenting are well lit so the camera can pick
them up well , these are the ideal choice due to them being quite cheap.
5. Budget for Documentary
A realist budget for a documentary to succeed would be around
£20,000 which would cover the price of the equipment and would
also cover price for fuel, renting a trailer for all the crew, buying food
and drinks to keep the crew happy and also to pay for their salary's
, if friends were involved in the documentary I’m sure the price you’d
have to pay them would be decreased giving more money for other
equipment etc.
