    Translate, subtitle and dub a video from a Spanish/Catalan TV
                         series/show into English

   Publish your result in the class blog and watch other videos from
                            foreign students

     Ask for feedback on your video and answer to questionnaires
                    about other students’ videos
OBJECTIVES
You are going to …
1. Learn about translation and audiovisual translation
   strategies.
2. Learn how to use ICT resources to subtitle and dub a
   video into another language.
3. Improve your level of English: you will practice reading,
   listening, writing and speaking!
4. Work in groups to develop your personal and social
   skills.
5. Get in touch with foreign students of English!

7. Watch foreign students’ translations of TV
series/shows
8. Answer to foreign students’ questionnaires
9. Evaluate the project, your own success and the
progress of the other members in your group.

You will work in groups to… Translate, subtitle and dub a video from a Spanish/Catalan TV series/show into English Publish your result in the class blog and watch other videos from foreign students Ask for feedback on your video and answer to questionnaires about other students’ videos
  • 4. OBJECTIVES You are going to … 1. Learn about translation and audiovisual translation strategies. 2. Learn how to use ICT resources to subtitle and dub a video into another language. 3. Improve your level of English: you will practice reading, listening, writing and speaking! 4. Work in groups to develop your personal and social skills. 5. Get in touch with foreign students of English!
  • 5. PLANNING  Presentation (1h)  Translation strategies and techniques (and practice) (3h)  Subtitling and dubbing videos (and practice) (3h)  Group work: dub and subtitle your video! (6h)  Watching other group’s videos & helping (1h)  Creating questionnaire to assess your video (1h)  Watching foreign student’s videos and commenting them (3h)  Getting results and assessing the project (2h)

  • 8. TASKS AND ACTIVITIES 4. Apply previously learnt skills to dub and subtitle your video 5. Watch other videos and help in their improvement 6. Design a questionnaire to value your work 7. Watch foreign students’ translations of TV series/shows 8. Answer to foreign students’ questionnaires 9. Evaluate the project, your own success and the progress of the other members in your group.
