Sea Star Dissection

1. LAB PREP

2.  Locate the madreporite on the aboral surface

3.  Locate bivium and trivium

4.  Cut off one of the bivium rays and create a
cross section

5.  Locate the eyespot at the tip of the ray of a
trivium

6.  Using scissors or a scalpel, carefully cut along
the sides of a trivium ray from the eyespot to
the central disk, extend the incision aroudn
the central disk but go around the
madreporite so it stays attached

8.  Remove the organ (stomach) and locate the
water vascular system

9.  Remove the digestive glands and view the
gonads
 Identify gender, ovaries are orange while
testes are gray
