• It is hard to manage time when
studying/working at the same time
• The choice between education and money
• The choice between experience and degree
• Pressured to get the degree (family, society)
• Learns more at work than in school

• Studies and works at the same time
• Earns and spends on student life, instead of
saving
• Studying as an excuse at work
• Working as an excuse at studies
Empathy Map - THINK
• Wants to have fun when still young and seize
the day
• Not ready yet to commit to hard work and
full-time obligations
• Wonders whether at all he needs a degree and
what does he need it for
Empathy Map - FEEL
• Bored with school- wants to have it over with,
feels it is just a formality to graduate
• Tired of doing both at the same time
• Pressured from family and society
• Satisfied with his achievements at work, he
feels a step ahead of his peers
• Feels „in between” – not a student any more,
not yet a full-time worker
Empathy Map - INSIGHTS
• He needs his degree just to fulfil family and
social expectations – it is expected from him
to graduate but he himself does not really feel
the need to because he already works, in fact
learns more than in school. Feels satisfied.
• This time „in transition” lowers his efficiency
• This calls for an education reform in Poland ;-)
