Human Rights And The Freedom Of Expression And Education
Human rights predominantly reflect basic moralities of self respect of all individuals. Thus, all persons should be entitled to equal rights no matter
their, nationality, gender, race, ethnicity, religious affiliations, political standings, language nor their class status. Furthermore, all governing countries
have an obligation to uphold these universal rights. Therefore; each law that is construed on a national or international level should guarantee no
discrimination towards any individuals or groups. Human rights can be governed in several aspects, for example: allowing all persons the opportunity
and freedom to travel or allowing one to obtain a job is an act of governing human rights correctly. Furthermore, human rights can arrange from a very
broad scope. Human rights could simply be having the right to social security, freedom of expression and education. Thus, all human beings were born
with the right to freedom and equality. However, rights of an individual can be denounced in certain situations, nonetheless, those being excused need
the balance of due process, which in turn, allows for fair individual rights.
Due to a vast variety of human rights violations that occur around the world, the mainstream media fails to acknowledge major incidents. Therefore,
some of the issues international human rights issues that have caught my interest are of the following: In India many women are targets of rape.
However, many of those incidents are never reported, while there are

Human Freedom And The Self By Roderick M. Chisholm
In "Human Freedom and the Self," Roderick M. Chisholm takes the libertarian stance, arguing that freedom is incompatible with determinism, that
determinism is in fact false, and that humans do posses the kind of freedom required for moral responsibility. Chisholm argues that a deterministic
universe, where all events, including human actions, proceed from prior events without the possibility that they would proceed differently than they do
prevent the possibility that humans are responsible for their actions. To validate his libertarian beliefs, Chisholm sets out to prove that humans are
responsible for their actions and also the thoughts that lead to those actions. In order to answer this problem, Chisholm believes we must make some
assumptions about the man who preforms the act. Chisholm begins his argument for the case of free will and it's incompatibility with determinism by
showing that people are responsible for the choices they make. If an agent (person) is responsible for the choices he makes, and has the power to
change that choice, then determinism can't exist. Chisholm uses the scenario of one man shooting another man to prove his point.. The shooter is
responsible for his actions, because he had a choice of whether to fire or not to fire the shot. If the shooter has the ability to choose which course of
action to take, it means that the man causes action. Having the freedom of choice could not have been caused or determined by any event that was not

Freedom And Human Nature In The Grand Inquisitor By...
Everyone should read The Grand Inquisitor. This Dostoyevsky novel warps your mind, and makes you think about all the suffering in the world.
Dostoevsky creates an ambiguity of freedom and human nature; both topics we as Americans feel like we should know rather well. But, do we really
understand human nature? Is freedom what we truly think it is? The use of characters in The Grand Inquisitor gives you a three point perspective on
dealing with suffering in the world. The first character we are introduced to is Ivan. This guys seems to have it all figured out. He simply believes
that the world is shit, God is a joke, and like Holden Caulfield he want's to save all the damn children. Ivan finds it hard to accepts that the pure
innocence of the world have to go through polluted practices of parental figures. Ivan made the decision to commit suicide at the age of thirty. Why
thirty? Well lets see, wasn't Jesus betrayed by Judas for thirty silver coins? Is it so that Ivan thinks maybe just like Jesus, he is being sacrificial to
the children? But is Ivan really giving his life to a cause the way the Buddhist monks did when protesting the vietnam war, or is he just being selfish
because he cannot handle the suffering of youngsters? Although I often think about dying, and how others will react to my passing. I contemplate if
anyone would actually care beside the people who are supposed to care, like my family. I think maybe if something tragic happened to me, maybe just
maybe it

Human Rights And Freedom Of Speech
The United Nations declares that "human beings shall enjoy freedom of speech and belief and freedom from fear" and that "to rebel against tyranny
and oppression...is protected by the rule of law." We, as people of the free world, are guaranteed our inalienable rights and these fundamental rights
can only be taken away by due process (The Universal Declaration...). As one of the world's emerging superpowers, the People's Republic of China
holds a long history of impeding human rights for the "health of social stability" (Human Rights in...). China is recognized for having the world's
largest economy and becoming one of the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council; Yet, it is also notorious for limiting free access
to the Internet, rights for free press, religion, expression, formation of social organizations, and other seemingly basic freedoms found in other societies
(Xu). China is currently in a socialist state that openly endorses communism. Run by the Communist Party, China constrains individual rights by
implementing strict restrictions including extensive censorship, harsh enforcement, and intimidation resulting in a lack of human rights. In order to
give citizens their fundamental privileges, China must make an effort to relax its constraints and allow for political and social reform (World Report
2014).
This repression can be traced back to the dynastic era in China, in which opposition to the emperor was not tolerated. The Cultural Revolution

Freedom Of Expression And Human Rights
According to article 19 of the United Nations International Bill of Rights, "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right
includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of
frontiers," but what does this mean for the 193 UN member countries of the 196 countries in the world today? In a world where statements such as
freedom of expression and human rights have such broad definitions, it is often hard to determine the effects of such clauses; especially when many
citizens in countries of the world today struggle to exercise their freedom of expression due to strict governments. Countries such as China and Egypt

Many criticisms have been made on the validity of social media's impact on activism because of its lack of the strong, personal bonds required in
high–risk activism as in such prominent activist campaigns as the Civil Rights Movement. Social media is not as effective in creating a significant
impact in social activism compared to actual riots and protests. It lacks the centralized, structured focus needed for effective social movements.
Critics of social media and its growing impact would argue that the impersonal nature of social media does not promote action and personal
sacrifice so much as it promotes participation in spreading the message of the cause and support of the values of the cause. The argument is made
that "activists" on social media would rather "like a page on Facebook" or "follow a Twitter account" than risk their lives for the sake of their causes
which is reflected in many statistics that show a low ratio between the amount of "likes" received on a page and the amount of action taken to aid in
fixing the problem being presented; for example, the popular ALS Ice Bucket Challenge that became a world–wide internet phenomenon. According to
the Charities Aid Foundation, only about 10 percent of UK participants involved in the challenge actually donated to the cause. Also, according to a
study done by the business intelligence firm

Freedom Of Expression Contained Within The European...
An essential role of a journalist is to act as a 'public watchdog' and the media enjoys freedoms and protection in pursuit of this objective. Court
reporting is fundamental to the principle of open justice that 'not only must justice be done; it must also be seen to be done.' This common aim of
media and the courts is met with some restrictions, of which contempt of court is most serious. For journalists, contempt can generally arise where
an article prejudices a person's right to a fair trial. It is mostly covered by the Contempt of Court Act 1981, hereafter referred to as 'The Act', which
was brought in to force in an attempt to strike a fair balance between the Article 6 right to a fair trial and Article 10 freedom of expression contained
within the European Convention of Human Rights. It encourages responsible reporting while discouraging outside interference with justice. Scottish
courts are viewed as comparatively harsh on contempt, but it is important for them to remain realistic. It is rare that a trial will be deserted on the
basis of contempt of court, as courts are disinclined to allow appalling crimes to go unpunished due to inevitable publicity regarding them. In Cox &
Griffiths, Petitioners Lord Prosser stated that 'juries are healthy bodies. They do not need a germ–free atmosphere'. Contempt of court comes in
numerous forms such as disobedience of a court order, unauthorised recording of court proceedings or 'murmuring judges'. Where journalists

Descartes And Spinoza On The Freedom Of Human Will
Many people have wondered if humans have the freedom of human will. Do we have the freedom of making our own decisions and judgements or is
our will powerless and our actions and decisions are predetermined by prior causes? Well, there are two philosophers named Descartes and Spinoza
that have had some disagreements about the human will and will give you their accounts about why their argument is stronger than the other. Descartes
account of the will starts from the very nature of the will. The nature of will is given from God to give or withhold assent; to act on desires. When
the will and the intellect, which contains ideas, come together, they make a judgement or decision. For example, when you see a nice cup of
coffee, your intellect and will comes up with a judgement on whether or not you want to pick up and drink that coffee. But, sometimes there can be
a problem with these judgements. When you are making those decisions, the will extends beyond the intellect. So, sometimes when we are making
a judgement, our will overpowers our intellect and causes ourselves to make mistakes, our own mistakes. In Descartes' Meditation Four, he goes
more in depth by saying, "Because the will is indifferent in regard to such matters, it easily turns away from the true and the good; and in this way I
am deceived and I sin." This is what we call intellectual freedom, the freedom to make judgements. Descartes believes the will is free because since
the will is from God and God

Calvin and Human Freedom
Historically, theologians and philosophers have struggled to agree on the ideas of human freedom. This struggle seems to stem from the debate over
faith vs. reason, or the internal and external sources that lead to human thought and understanding, through which free will is then interpreted and
carried out by means of the will. A hidden and constant strive for spiritual enlightenment has always been embedded within humans since the beginning
of the Fall. Through this natural drive of pursuing spiritual enlightenment comes the creation of the road to which it leads. Throughout most of time,
religion has taken the reigns of showing humans the road to salvation, externally, by means of scripture, which requires faith. Yet in the past, there have
been times when the powers of evil have inevitably hijacked religion, turning those who have witnessed or experienced this treachery against external
values based on faith, but rather internally based values by means of philosophical thought and reasoning through God's gift of grace.
Calvin's view on an external, faith–based religion encompasses ideas of double–predestination and the rejection of free will, and man's ability to choose
the good through His grace. In comparison, the Mu'tazilites view on an internal and logically reasoned religion encompasses ideas of the gift of free
will, and focuses on His justice through which all is meant for good. The ideals that surround these two belief systems lay on opposite ends of the

Religion Limits the Freedom of Human Beings Essay
Religion Limits the Freedom of Human Beings
Do you see that religion limits the freedom of the human beings? In other words, do you think there is a contradiction between being a subject of god
and at the same time being a free man?
To begin with, lets define what is the meaning of the word religion. The word religion is derived from the Latin word "religo" which derives from the
verb "religere" which in English means relate or link. It means connecting or combining again. Here we might ask why the word means reestablish or
reconnect not establish or connect. The answer is simple, the relation between god and the people was good at first, and then because man was always
selfish and acted arrogant and wicked the relation was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then if you believe and have faith in this religion then, you have to act according to your faith which means changing some habits (like after the
witness in Islam, Muslims can't drink wine for example.) in your life so that you act accordingly with your new faith like the baptism in Christianity
and the witness in Islam and thus when you do these two things for example, you can't change back your mind. And then after you act according to
your faith you have to practice your religion like going to the church eating from the flesh of Jesus and drinking his blood. In Islam the witness,
fasting, praying, alms giving, and pilgrimage. And sure every religion has ethics and ethics are practiced within a certain religion and what might be
allowed in this religion might not be allowed in the other religion. For example in Islam one can marry four wives while the same thing is not true in
Christianity. In Christianity, one can drink wine while drinking wine in Islam is banned.
Freedom, however, means a moment or moments marked by the ability to do or say whatever someone wants at a certain time in a certain place. This
notion, as we have noticed from the definition, is directly seen to collide with the notion of religion. Religions put certain rules and limitations for its
believers on how to act and what to speak within this religion. And from what I had previously mentioned having faith in a certain religion is to

Human Morality In The Movie 'Freedom Writers'
Literature affects our lives because it describes that everyone has their differences, that we as humans should think of others and assist them in their
lives, and literature illuminates the issues with human morality and how we can agree what is right and what is wrong. First, we as humans should
think of others. In the movie, "Freedom Writers", the students that are portrayed in the movie suffer through gang violence outside of their school
environment. However, to understand themselves better, they are taught about the Holocaust, which has multiple similarities in which massacres were
commonplace. Another example is in the book, "Fablehaven", in which Kendra and Seth, the two protagonists, save the world through their young ages

With technology playing a huge role in the novel, Little Brother by Doctorow, San Francisco seems to be turning into a dystopian society, leading to
the decline of human freedom. Doctorow's view on technology is strong to a certain extent displaying how the misuses of technology can harm the
human race. In the novel, the issues of technology and human freedom are widely discussed in a way that shows how technology takes away human
rights by the use of face recognition, codes, and other means.
Doctorow illustrates how face recognitions is unconstitutional in the high school so they then lean towards using gait–recognition cameras. "As far as I

Human Freedom Spinoza
Human freedom according to Spinoza is having more knowledge. The more knowledge you have, the better you understand yourself. And their
capability to acknowledge God's freedom in their own certain way is increased. It may not be completely free, it is however what people can use
keeping in mind the end goal to adjust themselves to the will of God, to the extent the learning of their own vague nature permits. Moreover, he
states freedom of will is deceptive, the reality of the situation can prove that growth in one's knowledge of causes can help one to abrogate, or to
control the power affects. For Spinoza, in order for something to be completely free, it must be uncompelled in every sort of way including the cause
of itself. And God is the only substance that can be totally autonomously free and be the cause of itself. On the other hand, as of Descartes, the only
substance that is entirely free and can form anything because of its whole 'freeness' is our mind. The presence of our minds are independent and fully
free. Meaning we are free to think about anything. He states that since the people are to think freely, they should not comprehend their ability to be
free as being at an equivalent level to this substance's, or God's free–will. He says that God is far beyond perfect than people, and due to that, God's
traits are much more powerful than everyone else's. Which leads us to the statement, God is freer than people. But he sticks to the fact that people are
independent and have traits as well, and since they're substances, it brings us to a conclusion that people indeed have free–will. And that free–will has
been created by God and given as innate ideas in our mind. These innate ideas certainly do exist because we have been given the freedom of thinking.
The ability to form ideas in our minds, to think that we're actually thinking. Spinoza sort of separates these however, by including thought and extension
as two separate characteristics. Whatever we know through ideas (mental) is the thought and what exists and sensed physically (physical) is known as
the extension. Descartes took a look at this as well, he labeled thoughts as 'property of mind' and extension as 'property of the body'. Spinoza approached

The Ambiguity of Behaviorism: Human Equality and Freedom
YI TSAM MARY KONG
University of British Columbia
The Ambiguity of Behaviorism: Human Equality and Freedom Behaviorism on learning and memory occupies an important position in the history of
psychology. John B. Watson is the father ofbehaviorism while B.F. Skinner is the most famous behaviorist of the twentieth century. Watson's
methodological behaviorism means that it is only the behaviors of an individual that can be objectively observed. Skinner's radical behaviorism
emphasized that behaviors of human and animals are blindly influenced by environment. In this case, Watson and Skinner share similar views of
behaviorism. For instance, they believe that the proper objectives of behavioral research include prediction and control (Staddon and Bueno, 1991).
However, there are remarkable discrepancies in their views of human equality and freedom. Watson promoted the progressive process of human equality
by maintaining concept of "tabula rasa", whereas Skinner insisted that freedom is an illusion, so that he provided the adverse effect to the dictatorial
institution. The fact is that the potential ambiguity produces a strong influence on people's thinking and has a practical significance on society.
According to the famous "Rats maze" experiment, Watson began by challenging the underlying assumption of instinct (Berntson and Cacioppo, 2000).
Watson and Morgan (1917) are considered to be

by affording the rights introduced by the European Convention on Human Rights.
The HRA 1998 have been introduced with a wide and comprehensive scope as it applies to most domestic public authorities and bodies including:

"Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. The right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas
without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers. This article shall not prevent States from requiring the licensing of broadcasting,
television and cinema enterprises."
Additionally, Article 19 (2) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights guarantees that such right is available to everyone. Therefore,
taken into account that the scope of Article 10 is vaguely broad expanding to nearly any activity that can considered to be "expression" in the literal
meaning of the word , the real difficulty was to examine and establish lawful conditions under which any restriction of freedom of expression is
lawful. Due to the absolute meaning of the guarantee under Article 19(2) such limitation and restriction of the right was required, excluding certain
ways of expression from under its protection. However, it has not been interpreted as a freedom of information guarantee it is rather a right of
"freedom to receive information" representing, where a voluntary speaker is interfered with in exercising any of the protected expressive activities,
then both the speaker and the potential receiving audience is prima facie deprived from this right. This

These charges brought against Brandenburg came forward after he phoned a reporter from a television station based out of Cincinnati, requesting

The Pursuit Of Freedom : Equal Rights And Human Rights
On a daily basis we use freedom everyday. Whether it is to give your opinion to someone or to stand against someone else's opinion. Though some
people do not have the right to freedom even though it should be a fundamental human right. They may go to jail if they speak out against their
government, have different views, have a different sexuality, or even have a different religion. In egypt they detained at least a dozen gay men at a
nearby police station for being gay and in america a couple decades ago black people could not vote. Freedom is deserved to everyone no matter
their race, gender, or sexuality. August 28, 1963 is when Martin Luther King Jr. gave his speech on equality of race. "This note was the promise that
all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."(e–Book Reader )
Dr.King and many others felt the need for freedoms to change for that all men should be treated equal and deserve happiness in life no matter race. It
took the Voting Rights Act of 1965 before the majority of African Americans could register to vote. Black men and women still had to fight today for
many things. Black women in the United States who work full time, year–round are typically paid just 63 cents for every dollar paid to a white person.

A conundrum arises when balancing the contradicting rights. The UK has a reputation for protecting individuals privacy, as seen in Douglas v Hello.
On the contrary, there is also an 'extraordinary protection' afforded to freedom of expression in the UK, especially to the Press.
There is now a well established test derived from Campbell, in which one must reasonably expect privacy. PRIVACY

Descartes on Human Freedom
Having consider that Rene Descartes believed the presence of human freedom, it is not discernible and clear what he held this freedom to consist in.
Following to Descartes's argument that man are the supreme source of human mistake or error and certainly not God based on the Fourth Meditation,
he offers and presents an interpretation of the activity of the human will and how it may be described as free will. Assumed that Descartes discusses the
"freedom of choice" and will as similar and compatible in his argument, critics opt to emphasis on it to know Descartes's certain notions on human
freedom.
Descartes illustrates an analogy between human will and the divine, stressing that it is human will which is utmost perfect function because it lets
them to "bear in some way the image and likeness of God" (CSM 2:40). Rene Descartes understands and identifies that God's will is certainly much
higher than man's own in power. Though, Descartes also confesses that regardless of this, God's will "does not seem any greater than mine when
considered as will in the essential and strict sense." (CSM 2:40)

Freedom Of Religion And Human Rights
There is a common belief that everyone should have their own rights and freedom towards anything in their life, under a given law and ethics.
Freedom to express and to survive have become a standard of living of any human kind. Those standards are inherently planted in any human being
and being passed to their inheritance. These rights, as the time passes by, have been expanded and developed into higher and more moderate levels
of rights, as given that people have been always seeking for a greater freedom in their own countries and societies. This eager desire for freedom is
considered human nature or some sorts, but in certain region with a certain cultures, the ideas of freedom often considered as a false conduct. It was
stated that "in the face of mounting tensions between different human rights concerns some observers even assume an abstract antagonism exists
between freedom of religion or belief and certain other human rights, such as freedom of expression, gender equality, or LGBTI–rights." (Bielefeldt 3).
The most recent phenomenon that have been causing so much debates and argument in the past decades which eventually ended up being legalized,
gay marriage might be relevant for this matter. Many people, prior to this day, used to believe that the same gender relationship is a forbidden
freedom, especially in the first–world countries, such as: US, UK, and some countries in Europe. Whereas, in the second and third world countries, gay

Freedom Of Speech: Human Rights In The United States
Freedom of speech is said to be one of the human rights that citizens of the United States have. Wars in the past have given people of the 21st
century the ability to "freely" speak their ideas and opinions to help improve the country. But does everyone really have freedom of speech if some
people censor what a person says? If people are not allowed to say certain things in order to cover up certain aspects of the lie that the government
feeds everyone, is that freedom? Freedom of speech should be enforced as a right of every individual in any society.
Freedom of speech is a human right that everyone deserves. In a democratic country, if free speech is taken away, the government will have a
dangerous level of power. According to an article... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to an article from The Sydney Morning Herald, an absolute freedom of speech "can make people fearful, angry and defensive. It does not
turn the level of civilization up" (smh.com.au). Instead of solving problems in the society, giving people an absolute freedom of speech can cause
more danger. People would seek the opportunity to assert hurtful words towards other people. There would be no boundaries to limit the ignorant and
malicious words that people could claim. People would say whatever they want because they know that it is one of the rights they have. They might
say words that are harsh and ignorant towards other people in order to be heard by the government. People would take all the opportunity just to say

Human Freedom And The Self By Roderick M. Chisholm Essay
In the paper, "Human Freedom and the Self" Roderick M. Chisholm offers his theory of human freedom and defends it against a couple objections. One
of the objections we will talk about which is the second objection is connected to the concept of immanent causation, where causation is by an agent, he
argues how the statement "the prime mover unmoved" (page 391) has been subject to difficulty. Chisholm explains immanent causation as being an
agent causing the event A to happen, but although the agent is causing A to happen the agent is not moved by anything. The argument to this objection
is that "there must be some event A, which is caused not by any other event but by the agent" (page 391). Well since A was not cause by another event
then the agent couldn't have produced anything either to bring A about, so "what did the agent's causation consist of" (page 391). Also another point
that was made in the objection was the question "what is the difference between A's just happening and the agents causing A to happen" (page 391).
Chisholm responds by saying that there is a difference between man causing A and an event causing A. The two are not the same because transeunt
causation is connected to determinism, which makes the train of events, happen and immanent causation as he explains it is when the agent causes the
event. He then sums up his answer by saying the reason "lies in the fact that, in the first case but not the second, the event was caused by the man" (pg.

Frozen
Frozen With a beautiful combination of catchy songs, life–like animations, and an incredibly well developed plot, this Disney animated film leaves the
world frozen in amazement. Released in December 2013, the movie "Frozen" speaks on being different and of love. The main character, Anna, and
her older sister, Elsa were extremely close until Elsa's wintery powers of which she was born with almost got Anna killed. While Anna held on to that
relationship, Elsa had shut herself out in fear of hurting someone. Things got worse as their parents, the king and the queen died in a shipwreck,
leaving the sisters more alone than ever. Years later, Elsa is forced to interact with others during her coronation, the build up of emotions and feelings

Frozen easily fills this requirement because who hasn't ever felt alone or different? Anyone who is different, like Elsa, would be feared,
mistreated, labeled, and honestly, who's the same?Everyone is unique and different in their own way. In society, people who are different are
made fun of, excluded, judged, etc. Watching Elsa go from fearing herself and isolating herself to accepting and loving herself showed us who
cares what others think? Who never felt shy or nervous like Anna did before the ball. Everyone should be able to relate to at least one of the
characters in this movies and therefore "Frozen" would be deemed realistic. In the eyes of Franzen and Groen, the movie Frozen would be
considered quality art as it contains realistic characters, realistic scenarios as life is "tragic", and realistic and relatable in general. Aside for that,
Frozen is a top rated movie that everyone, not only kids

The American Dream
Introduction
The American dream is a term used in a lot of ways. However, it revolves around the thought that anyone living in the US can achieve something
coupled with the possibility of lead a happy and successful life. The dream has been an aim for the majority of the individuals who reside in the land
of America that gives them hope of the future. The definition of the term has expanded to incorporate freedom, achievement and meaningful
relationships.
People who manage to achieve their respective are deemed to have achieved the American dream. Part of the dream involves controlling one's own fate,
becoming successful, and having good living conditions. Example of this dream has included being in possession of things like television, automobiles,
supermarkets and having access to the Internet.
In this perspective, the American dream revolves around making better living conditions for individuals and their children. It's about having the chance
to achieve what elsewhere may have not been possible. The outline of the dream is different for each person. According to Paul Krugman; "America
looks more and more like a class–ridden society. And guess what? Our political leaders are doing everything they can to fortify class inequality, while
denouncing anyone who complains–or even points out what is happening–as a practitioner of class warfare." (Muller, 2011.p.465). The America Dream
is becoming a thing of the Past, the wealthy have more privileges than the poor.
From the birth of America, to America today, the driving force and the heart of America has always been the "American Dream." The "American
Dream" is a goal for the majority of people who live in the realms of the Americanized world. I believe that the "American Dream" is controlling my
own destiny, becoming successful, and living free. Examples of this dream are things like television, automobiles, supermarkets, malls, Internet, planes,
trains, etc. The "American Dream" is success, freedom, and being able to control your own destiny.
Becoming successful has been the dreams of many people of the past and present and I think that it is one the most important things that a person must
accomplish. Anyone and everyone can develop into a successful

Human Rights in Islam: Individual’s Rights of Freedom

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

Without free will and its adherent responsibility and commitment there could be neither reward nor punishment.
"And stop them, for they shall be questioned."
Holy Qur 'an (37:24)
"And We have made every man 's actions to cling to his neck, and We will bring forth to him on the Resurrection Day a book which he will find wide
open. Read your book; your own self is sufficient as a reckoner against you this Day."
Holy Qur 'an (17:13–14)
Because Islam insists that man has free will because that is the way that Allah created him. It allows him to express this freedom and to practise it
within the limits of commitment and responsibility and self control. Man has an obligation to choose the path of righteousness, and to safeguard his
freedom and that of others.
Because Islam grants free will, it is expected that man will use it to further his knowledge in all areas which help in the improvement of the human lot
on this earth. Otherwise, freedom may become a tool of destruction, annihilation and doctrinal deviation. Man is urged, by Islam, to consider the
physical and spiritual welfare of others in all his endeavors. This prevents freedom from being turned into a dictatorship, exploiting other 's inalienable
rights to share in nature 's natural resources.
Political freedom in Islam is a means of leading mankind to justice, goodness and peace. It guarantees and protects

Free Definition Essays-What Is Human Freedom?
What is human freedom? What are freedom's requirements? What freedoms are limited, either fairly or unfairly? Which is more freeing, the socialist
freedom from worry that comes with work for the whole? Or the Libertarian freedom from governance that comes with the responsibility to provide
basic needs without help? Freedom is a complicated topic because of the mix of personal responsibility and needs that may impede freedom without
outside help. For example, can a person who has lost the use of their legs be truly free without a wheelchair or prosthetic to restore the freedom of
mobility? Is freedom simply living without outside interference or is it something more? The answers are more complex than they may seem. Freedom
requires a lack of control, cannot work with government, and works on different levels for all people. What does freedom mean? Merriam–Webster
takes nine sentences to define it. However, in a nutshell, freedom is "the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action [or] liberation
from slavery or restraint or from the power of another"("Freedom"). So, according to this definition, true freedom would be life without hierarchy, law,
or coercion. Consequently, an 'every man for himself' definition forms the base of our concept of freedom. Strangely, this may be an anarchist idea, but
this absence of control is the basis of freedom.
Almost everyone agrees that in a civilized society, certain freedoms should be limited. For example, most

Human Freedom, Consciousness, And Reality
Human Freedom, Consciousness, and Reality There are a number of situations in which reasonable minds can disagree. Businesses normally face
such situations. For example, a company situated in country A may be selling clothes from country C. It happens that the media has been criticizing
the company for selling products, which are believed to be produced by children. Suppose the company conducts research and find out that the
clothes it is selling are made by children. The investigations also shows that it is not the girls fault nor is the company's fault to have the girls who
are still young employed in such a company. It also shows that the society does not educate girls beyond the sixth grade. To worsen the situation,, the
researcher found that the society is poor and cannot provide the basic needs to the young girls. The respondent reveals "if you shut this plant down,
you will literally take food off the table for these families and that there are no other opportunities in the town." This means that preventing the
employment of young girls would cause more problems than improve their situation. On the other hand, laws from country A may prohibit the child
labor. Some thinkers may believe that the young children should be allowed to go to school. This is because it is their legal rights. However, if legal
measures are taken and that the girls are prevented from working in the factory, it will not assist them but instead cause more problems. For example,
forcing them to

Although Putin spent billion of dollars on the Winter Olympics in Sochi, which was intended to show the world that Russia is an advanced state,
coupled with the West culture and therefore wants to be the part of the western world, a week after the Olympics, he occupied the Crimea and started
the war in Ukraine. The Putin policy models chaos in eastern Ukraine and threatens the sovereignty. Russia becomes a country with a very poor status
in the international arena, which supports terrorists. There is a lack of democracy in Russia, practically all the media are controlled by Putin
consolidated economic elites, so basically a critical approach to power does not exist. It is obvious that such Russia should be of concern to the US

The economic crisis has exposed the social, economic and management issues and made that decisions will lead to greater savings, social spending

This cleaves the EU from the inside. The European relative power in the world is decreasing due to the economic stagnation, lack of a unified foreign

The Human Condition: Freedom Expropriated by Corporations
Arendt's ideas in The Human Condition have laid the foundation on which American society is grounded, and are particularly useful for looking at
America today. American citizens have been displaced from the Arendtian model of themodern age. The American government has lost its freedom by
having been expropriated from the realm of freedom in the vita activa. Capitalism and large corporations now wield the most power and economic
influence in America today. This explanation has become increasingly more appropriate in describing the role of oil corporations in America, in light of
the actions America has taken since the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Only those candidates with enough financial support can seriously contend for a seat in any elected government position. President George W. Bush
for example raised and spent over 40 million dollars in the 2000 Presidential Primaries alone. The growing power wielded by private interests has
enormous economic consequences. However, the greatest impact may be political, as corporations transform economic clout into political power;
many operating today have gained so much economic and political power that they are now entering the world of international diplomacy.
American foreign policy towards the Middle East revolves around oil interests. The U.S. has attempted to maintain stability between nations such as
Palestine, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Iran in order to protect the flow of imported oil from the Middle East. The September 11 terrorist attacks on
the World Trade Center and the Pentagon have undermined U.S. attempts at stability in the Middle East, by demonstrating to the world that America is
in fact vulnerable, while at the same time symbolically proving to other Middle Eastern nations that they do not have to be taken advantage of by
America. President Bush has since declared a "war on terrorism," in which the financial assets of terrorist groups have been frozen, economic sanctions
have been imposed on countries harboring terrorist factions, and US military forces are not engaged in active conflict in Afghanistan. The

How Does Friedman Violates Human Freedom?
1.Friedman argues that the policies and laws that are enacted in today's life, such as social security, pensions, medical aid and everything else that
are required by the law are unlawful and violates human freedom. Friedman uses an example of a man who wants to spend his pension, he said that
he is allowed to do so if he wants to but, he asks if we have the right to persuade the person to save it for his retirement. The law that protects
employees from "unfair" minimum wages this law also violates individual freedom and the freedom of choice. Friedman states that "Such legislation
clearly involves interference with the freedom of individuals to enter voluntarily into a contract with one another". If the employer offers an employee

Individual rights will be violated by expanding the state's roles. Nozick says that the state may legitimately provide police, courts, and a military to
protect the public against corruption, violence and crime but nothing more. Friedman defends the argument by saying that government activities are
violations of human freedom. Taxing the rich to help the poor violates their rights of ownership of having the choice to do what they want with their
own money but the state interferes and forces them to help the poor by taxing them "stealing from them". The rich should be free to do and decide
what they want to do with their money. Nozick states that you own the fruits of your labour because you own yourself and for that you own your
labour not the state. If a person made money with his resources he owns he is entitled to do with it what he wants and the government can't take it
away from him. Nozick also believes that you don't need to be forced to help one another. Nozick says that "individuals have strong and far–reaching
rights" it also questions the government about what are they going to do? With assisted suicide the state should not interfere if someone volunteers
to help end others life. "One owns his/her life; she/he should be free to end it". People pay market values of services and products. Friedman
objects the minimal wage argument and that supply and the demand need to determine prices of products and services in unfettered markets and that
individual are free to choose whatever service offering. For those who support the organ market if a person has 2 healthy kidneys, they don't need to
give it away just because someone else is in need of it. Supply and demand will determine the price in the organ market and the person can choose to

The Importance Of Human Rights And Freedom In 1984
Every human being is entitled to their civil liberties. However, society's fundamental rights and freedoms need careful protection to ensure their
continuation. Reg Whitaker, author of The Devil and Stephen Harper, is one of the many citizens concerned about Canada's new defence policy, Bill
C–51. This article vocalizes social unease in Canada due to individual liberties being overlooked in favour of national security. George Orwell furthers
this notion through his novel 1984, where a corrupt and apathetic government impedes on human rights and violates their basic human dignity.
However, the distinction between these two societies and the determinant of whether the State is able to abuse their power lies within the response of
the people. In today's society there is outrage at the deprival of liberties, whereas in Oceania there is utter acceptance. When citizens remain subservient
to an oppressive government, it leaves individuals with invaded privacy, no freedom of expression, and without protection from the law, thus
diminishing one's human dignity. Respect for an individual is established through granting privacy. By removing the ability to have personal autonomy,
one's dignity is lost and government control expands. Although citizens in both texts are stripped of their right to discretion, it is their respective
response that determines the outcome of society. Bill C–51 authorizes complete control over the personal information of any citizen, even those who

Freedom, Stability And Human Rights
When Africans were taken from their motherland they lost their families, their sense of connection to traditions, their freedom, stability and their
human rights. Through the Middle Passage they learned to rely on the others around them. Through this common bond they grew close and put aside
differences their tribes may once have had. Due to the fact the captured people were young in age, healthy, vibrant and able to procreate; their future
owners would use all of these features against them. Moreover, they made the enslaved peoples have relations, they would put them together strictly
to procreate. If they could not or chose not to help the owners by giving birth to future slaves they were punished by extreme means. The enslaved
used this as a form of resistance. They could control procreation to a certain extent. As they travelled across the ocean relationships were developed,
they learned to communicate and sing songs as ways to encourage each other and remain hopeful even when things seemed dim. Little did the captured
peoples realize those songs would help future generations of slaves by giving them the same hope that the current peoples were experiencing. It was
through the songs that the African American slaves changed the lyrics to reflect how they felt about their owners and striving for freedom which they
so desperately wanted. They used singing as means to spread messages, encourage one another and develop enough courage to revolt or runaway. As
time went on, the

Human Rights And Freedom In The Social Contract, By Rousseau
The book. One of the most famous books written by Rousseau is The Social Contract. It was first published in 1762. Is one of the most important
declarations of natural human rights of western political philosophy. When it was first published The Social Contract was condemned and Rousseau
was a 'wanted man' in Geneve and France. This book opens with the famous phrase 'The man was born free but everywhere he is in chains' . Rousseau
gived to the epoque another meaning of the freedom. His thought was all about the general will and giving up of your freedom. And the social contract
is about this. It's a kind of agreement with which the individuals enter into the civil society. We are born with natural rights and freedom and entering in

dollar a year industry (Human Rights First, 2014). Of all the ranked crime in the world human trafficking is one of the most diverse in the scope of the
crime, as well as the victim. Victims can be subjected to sexual exploitation, hard manual labor, forced private servitude and anything imaginable in

account for $66,000 of your profit. Leaving the other 8 employees responsible for only 5% each (roughly $5000). This is exactly why trafficking
continues to flourish in today's economy. In addition to this the prosecution success rate for trafficking is low, leaving violators free to go back to
exploiting more victims. In 2014 the success rate of prosecutions was 44%. Of over 10,000 cases, only 4,443 were successfully prosecuted

The Does Not Obstruct The Freedom Of Human Rights?
Moreover, democratic rights and freedom for individuals are part of modern law; rulings such as sadd al–dharai could be presumed that these rights
would be impeded upon. Shari'ah does not obstruct the freedom of humans right to life; it sets guidelines for a moral and ethical life (Ozalp, 2012).
Shari'ah should be conceived as protection of human rights. Law has a purpose and its core entity of law is to serve justice (Rohe, 2014). Law no matter
where in the world it is applied, tries to sustain a necessary order for its citizens and allow no room for undesirable conflicts (El–Fadl, 2006). The fact
that such an Islamic ruling may already be in place would come as a surprise to many.
Interestingly, in modern Australia the concept of sadd al–dharai is already in place. The underlying idea to sadd al–dharai is to maintain a wholesome,
virtuous society by omitting the means to an end that will result in evil. It's used a formula to find solutions to new issues (Kamali, 1999a). As an
example from modern Australian law is the 'lockout laws', stemming from many years of the horrendous issue of alcohol fuelled violence on the
streets of the city (Hall, 2015; Fulde, Smith, & Forster, 2015). A form of 'blocking the means' became a necessity to eradicate an on–going concern.
Prohibiting the selling of alcohol past a certain time has reduced the toxic environment and contained a decent level of social atmosphere. Constant
violent events from alcohol–fuelled violence were not only

Freedom Is A Basic Human Right
Freedom is a basic human right, but nevertheless it is obvious, that not everybody is in the position to make use of it because it has been disregarded
and trampled on throughout the ages.
Freedom is also the circumstance of being internal control. A major conflict that comes in when the freedom appears is when non white people are
being discriminated or self discriminated. Throughout time mankind had to fight for freedom, because there were always human beings who considered
this basic right to be reserved for themselves and a few other like–minded individuals. I don't espect for everyone to agree with me base on my
difinition. There's many different types of freedom, Freedom of the press, Freedom of the assembly, Freedom of expression, Freedom of speech,
Freedom religion, and many more. Being from a different country that wasn't similar to the United State has seem to really own up my eyes a lot.

Fighting for Freedom of Education and Human Rights in...
If we are thinking about effect of education – or the lack of it – on our nature, there is another comparison we can make."(The Allegory of the Cave by
Plato p.1) Plato was a philosopher in Classical Greece; he was fighting for freedom and education. Malcolm X was an African–American Muslim who
was fighting for human rights. We have two stories one is "The Allegory of the Cave" and "Learning to read", why do we have to compare this two
stories? Can we conclude some very important things after reviewing? Education is a very strong tool in our hands, and how to learn right is
concurrent part of our life. In this stories we can find two different ways how to study, even though stories have some same ideas, they are different. I
have several reasons why they are different and how are they similar. The first thing why these stories are similar is that Education can totally change
your view to everything. Education it's a light in darkness, it can open our eyes. In the "The Allegory of the Cave by Plato" we have some good
examples. First example is cave, cave showing us the world, and many people in this world tie in, only one thing that they can see is the wall, and
in the front of the wall we can see a campfire, they can't turn back, and every time we can see shadows on the wall. People kind of blind, they can't

Society's Failure To Achieve The American Dream
The image of an American Dream is that anything can happen. The idea that anyone can be successful or pursue success. Satisfaction and happiness
can be only be attained through the quality of their own life. Americans were raised in a society that tells them they can be anything they want as an
adult. In a disproportionate American society, success is largely based off of power and financial stability. The dream, the illusion, is something that
hopes to ease the pain of the dry reality that money has taken over one's happiness. The need to be financially stable has caused society to work in
professional positions that will never satisfy them, that leave them unhappy and unsatisfied. Do to the influence of money, society has chosen to
sacrifice happiness in hopes of the ability to obtaining the American Dream. People work at jobs they hate to earn an income that will only chase the
ever elusive American Dream illusion. Society today has made the American Dream an illusion driven by a monetary success. It has made the
American standard for everyone to make it big become rich without doing very little work. Although that one could dream of success, not everyone can

Human Rights And The Freedom Of Expression And Education

  • 1. Human Rights And The Freedom Of Expression And Education Human rights predominantly reflect basic moralities of self respect of all individuals. Thus, all persons should be entitled to equal rights no matter their, nationality, gender, race, ethnicity, religious affiliations, political standings, language nor their class status. Furthermore, all governing countries have an obligation to uphold these universal rights. Therefore; each law that is construed on a national or international level should guarantee no discrimination towards any individuals or groups. Human rights can be governed in several aspects, for example: allowing all persons the opportunity and freedom to travel or allowing one to obtain a job is an act of governing human rights correctly. Furthermore, human rights can arrange from a very broad scope. Human rights could simply be having the right to social security, freedom of expression and education. Thus, all human beings were born with the right to freedom and equality. However, rights of an individual can be denounced in certain situations, nonetheless, those being excused need the balance of due process, which in turn, allows for fair individual rights. Due to a vast variety of human rights violations that occur around the world, the mainstream media fails to acknowledge major incidents. Therefore, some of the issues international human rights issues that have caught my interest are of the following: In India many women are targets of rape. However, many of those incidents are never reported, while there are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Human Freedom And The Self By Roderick M. Chisholm In "Human Freedom and the Self," Roderick M. Chisholm takes the libertarian stance, arguing that freedom is incompatible with determinism, that determinism is in fact false, and that humans do posses the kind of freedom required for moral responsibility. Chisholm argues that a deterministic universe, where all events, including human actions, proceed from prior events without the possibility that they would proceed differently than they do prevent the possibility that humans are responsible for their actions. To validate his libertarian beliefs, Chisholm sets out to prove that humans are responsible for their actions and also the thoughts that lead to those actions. In order to answer this problem, Chisholm believes we must make some assumptions about the man who preforms the act. Chisholm begins his argument for the case of free will and it's incompatibility with determinism by showing that people are responsible for the choices they make. If an agent (person) is responsible for the choices he makes, and has the power to change that choice, then determinism can't exist. Chisholm uses the scenario of one man shooting another man to prove his point.. The shooter is responsible for his actions, because he had a choice of whether to fire or not to fire the shot. If the shooter has the ability to choose which course of action to take, it means that the man causes action. Having the freedom of choice could not have been caused or determined by any event that was not itself ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. But, do we really understand human nature? Is freedom what we truly think it is? The use of characters in The Grand Inquisitor gives you a three point perspective on dealing with suffering in the world. The first character we are introduced to is Ivan. This guys seems to have it all figured out. He simply believes that the world is shit, God is a joke, and like Holden Caulfield he want's to save all the damn children. Ivan finds it hard to accepts that the pure innocence of the world have to go through polluted practices of parental figures. Ivan made the decision to commit suicide at the age of thirty. Why thirty? Well lets see, wasn't Jesus betrayed by Judas for thirty silver coins? Is it so that Ivan thinks maybe just like Jesus, he is being sacrificial to the children? But is Ivan really giving his life to a cause the way the Buddhist monks did when protesting the vietnam war, or is he just being selfish because he cannot handle the suffering of youngsters? Although I often think about dying, and how others will react to my passing. I contemplate if anyone would actually care beside the people who are supposed to care, like my family. I think maybe if something tragic happened to me, maybe just maybe it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Human Rights And Freedom Of Speech The United Nations declares that "human beings shall enjoy freedom of speech and belief and freedom from fear" and that "to rebel against tyranny and oppression...is protected by the rule of law." We, as people of the free world, are guaranteed our inalienable rights and these fundamental rights can only be taken away by due process (The Universal Declaration...). As one of the world's emerging superpowers, the People's Republic of China holds a long history of impeding human rights for the "health of social stability" (Human Rights in...). China is recognized for having the world's largest economy and becoming one of the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council; Yet, it is also notorious for limiting free access to the Internet, rights for free press, religion, expression, formation of social organizations, and other seemingly basic freedoms found in other societies (Xu). China is currently in a socialist state that openly endorses communism. Run by the Communist Party, China constrains individual rights by implementing strict restrictions including extensive censorship, harsh enforcement, and intimidation resulting in a lack of human rights. In order to give citizens their fundamental privileges, China must make an effort to relax its constraints and allow for political and social reform (World Report 2014). This repression can be traced back to the dynastic era in China, in which opposition to the emperor was not tolerated. The Cultural Revolution (1966–1976) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Freedom Of Expression And Human Rights According to article 19 of the United Nations International Bill of Rights, "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers," but what does this mean for the 193 UN member countries of the 196 countries in the world today? In a world where statements such as freedom of expression and human rights have such broad definitions, it is often hard to determine the effects of such clauses; especially when many citizens in countries of the world today struggle to exercise their freedom of expression due to strict governments. Countries such as China and Egypt have used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many criticisms have been made on the validity of social media's impact on activism because of its lack of the strong, personal bonds required in high–risk activism as in such prominent activist campaigns as the Civil Rights Movement. Social media is not as effective in creating a significant impact in social activism compared to actual riots and protests. It lacks the centralized, structured focus needed for effective social movements. Critics of social media and its growing impact would argue that the impersonal nature of social media does not promote action and personal sacrifice so much as it promotes participation in spreading the message of the cause and support of the values of the cause. The argument is made that "activists" on social media would rather "like a page on Facebook" or "follow a Twitter account" than risk their lives for the sake of their causes which is reflected in many statistics that show a low ratio between the amount of "likes" received on a page and the amount of action taken to aid in fixing the problem being presented; for example, the popular ALS Ice Bucket Challenge that became a world–wide internet phenomenon. According to the Charities Aid Foundation, only about 10 percent of UK participants involved in the challenge actually donated to the cause. Also, according to a study done by the business intelligence firm ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Freedom Of Expression Contained Within The European... An essential role of a journalist is to act as a 'public watchdog' and the media enjoys freedoms and protection in pursuit of this objective. Court reporting is fundamental to the principle of open justice that 'not only must justice be done; it must also be seen to be done.' This common aim of media and the courts is met with some restrictions, of which contempt of court is most serious. For journalists, contempt can generally arise where an article prejudices a person's right to a fair trial. It is mostly covered by the Contempt of Court Act 1981, hereafter referred to as 'The Act', which was brought in to force in an attempt to strike a fair balance between the Article 6 right to a fair trial and Article 10 freedom of expression contained within the European Convention of Human Rights. It encourages responsible reporting while discouraging outside interference with justice. Scottish courts are viewed as comparatively harsh on contempt, but it is important for them to remain realistic. It is rare that a trial will be deserted on the basis of contempt of court, as courts are disinclined to allow appalling crimes to go unpunished due to inevitable publicity regarding them. In Cox & Griffiths, Petitioners Lord Prosser stated that 'juries are healthy bodies. They do not need a germ–free atmosphere'. Contempt of court comes in numerous forms such as disobedience of a court order, unauthorised recording of court proceedings or 'murmuring judges'. Where journalists ... • 7. Descartes And Spinoza On The Freedom Of Human Will Many people have wondered if humans have the freedom of human will. Do we have the freedom of making our own decisions and judgements or is our will powerless and our actions and decisions are predetermined by prior causes? Well, there are two philosophers named Descartes and Spinoza that have had some disagreements about the human will and will give you their accounts about why their argument is stronger than the other. Descartes account of the will starts from the very nature of the will. The nature of will is given from God to give or withhold assent; to act on desires. When the will and the intellect, which contains ideas, come together, they make a judgement or decision. For example, when you see a nice cup of coffee, your intellect and will comes up with a judgement on whether or not you want to pick up and drink that coffee. But, sometimes there can be a problem with these judgements. When you are making those decisions, the will extends beyond the intellect. So, sometimes when we are making a judgement, our will overpowers our intellect and causes ourselves to make mistakes, our own mistakes. In Descartes' Meditation Four, he goes more in depth by saying, "Because the will is indifferent in regard to such matters, it easily turns away from the true and the good; and in this way I am deceived and I sin." This is what we call intellectual freedom, the freedom to make judgements. Descartes believes the will is free because since the will is from God and God ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Calvin and Human Freedom Historically, theologians and philosophers have struggled to agree on the ideas of human freedom. This struggle seems to stem from the debate over faith vs. reason, or the internal and external sources that lead to human thought and understanding, through which free will is then interpreted and carried out by means of the will. A hidden and constant strive for spiritual enlightenment has always been embedded within humans since the beginning of the Fall. Through this natural drive of pursuing spiritual enlightenment comes the creation of the road to which it leads. Throughout most of time, religion has taken the reigns of showing humans the road to salvation, externally, by means of scripture, which requires faith. Yet in the past, there have been times when the powers of evil have inevitably hijacked religion, turning those who have witnessed or experienced this treachery against external values based on faith, but rather internally based values by means of philosophical thought and reasoning through God's gift of grace. Calvin's view on an external, faith–based religion encompasses ideas of double–predestination and the rejection of free will, and man's ability to choose the good through His grace. In comparison, the Mu'tazilites view on an internal and logically reasoned religion encompasses ideas of the gift of free will, and focuses on His justice through which all is meant for good. The ideals that surround these two belief systems lay on opposite ends of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Religion Limits the Freedom of Human Beings Essay Religion Limits the Freedom of Human Beings Do you see that religion limits the freedom of the human beings? In other words, do you think there is a contradiction between being a subject of god and at the same time being a free man? To begin with, lets define what is the meaning of the word religion. The word religion is derived from the Latin word "religo" which derives from the verb "religere" which in English means relate or link. It means connecting or combining again. Here we might ask why the word means reestablish or reconnect not establish or connect. The answer is simple, the relation between god and the people was good at first, and then because man was always selfish and acted arrogant and wicked the relation was ... Then if you believe and have faith in this religion then, you have to act according to your faith which means changing some habits (like after the witness in Islam, Muslims can't drink wine for example.) in your life so that you act accordingly with your new faith like the baptism in Christianity and the witness in Islam and thus when you do these two things for example, you can't change back your mind. And then after you act according to your faith you have to practice your religion like going to the church eating from the flesh of Jesus and drinking his blood. In Islam the witness, fasting, praying, alms giving, and pilgrimage. And sure every religion has ethics and ethics are practiced within a certain religion and what might be allowed in this religion might not be allowed in the other religion. For example in Islam one can marry four wives while the same thing is not true in Christianity. In Christianity, one can drink wine while drinking wine in Islam is banned. Freedom, however, means a moment or moments marked by the ability to do or say whatever someone wants at a certain time in a certain place. This notion, as we have noticed from the definition, is directly seen to collide with the notion of religion. Religions put certain rules and limitations for its believers on how to act and what to speak within this religion. Technology And Human Freedom In Doctorow's Little Brother With technology playing a huge role in the novel, Little Brother by Doctorow, San Francisco seems to be turning into a dystopian society, leading to the decline of human freedom. Doctorow's view on technology is strong to a certain extent displaying how the misuses of technology can harm the human race. In the novel, the issues of technology and human freedom are widely discussed in a way that shows how technology takes away human rights by the use of face recognition, codes, and other means. • 12. Human Freedom Spinoza Human freedom according to Spinoza is having more knowledge. The more knowledge you have, the better you understand yourself. And their capability to acknowledge God's freedom in their own certain way is increased. It may not be completely free, it is however what people can use keeping in mind the end goal to adjust themselves to the will of God, to the extent the learning of their own vague nature permits. Moreover, he states freedom of will is deceptive, the reality of the situation can prove that growth in one's knowledge of causes can help one to abrogate, or to control the power affects. For Spinoza, in order for something to be completely free, it must be uncompelled in every sort of way including the cause of itself. And God is the only substance that can be totally autonomously free and be the cause of itself. On the other hand, as of Descartes, the only substance that is entirely free and can form anything because of its whole 'freeness' is our mind. The presence of our minds are independent and fully free. Meaning we are free to think about anything. He states that since the people are to think freely, they should not comprehend their ability to be free as being at an equivalent level to this substance's, or God's free–will. He says that God is far beyond perfect than people, and due to that, God's traits are much more powerful than everyone else's. Which leads us to the statement, God is freer than people. But he sticks to the fact that people are independent and have traits as well, and since they're substances, it brings us to a conclusion that people indeed have free–will. And that free–will has been created by God and given as innate ideas in our mind. These innate ideas certainly do exist because we have been given the freedom of thinking. The ability to form ideas in our minds, to think that we're actually thinking. Spinoza sort of separates these however, by including thought and extension as two separate characteristics. Whatever we know through ideas (mental) is the thought and what exists and sensed physically (physical) is known as the extension. Descartes took a look at this as well, he labeled thoughts as 'property of mind' and extension as 'property of the body'. Spinoza approached ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. The Ambiguity Of Behaviorism : Human Equality And Freedom... The Ambiguity of Behaviorism: Human Equality and Freedom YI TSAM MARY KONG University of British Columbia The Ambiguity of Behaviorism: Human Equality and Freedom Behaviorism on learning and memory occupies an important position in the history of psychology. John B. Watson is the father ofbehaviorism while B.F. Skinner is the most famous behaviorist of the twentieth century. Watson's methodological behaviorism means that it is only the behaviors of an individual that can be objectively observed. Skinner's radical behaviorism emphasized that behaviors of human and animals are blindly influenced by environment. In this case, Watson and Skinner share similar views of behaviorism. For instance, they believe that the proper objectives of behavioral research include prediction and control (Staddon and Bueno, 1991). However, there are remarkable discrepancies in their views of human equality and freedom. Watson promoted the progressive process of human equality by maintaining concept of "tabula rasa", whereas Skinner insisted that freedom is an illusion, so that he provided the adverse effect to the dictatorial institution. The fact is that the potential ambiguity produces a strong influence on people's thinking and has a practical significance on society. According to the famous "Rats maze" experiment, Watson began by challenging the underlying assumption of instinct (Berntson and Cacioppo, 2000). Watson and Morgan (1917) are considered to be ... Chapter 3 – Explanation of Media Freedom of Expression under Article 10 of the Human Rights Act and the European Convention on Human Rights On the 2nd October 2000, the Human Rights Act 1998 came into force as the most important privacy statute to further strengthen the UK domestic law by affording the rights introduced by the European Convention on Human Rights. The HRA 1998 have been introduced with a wide and comprehensive scope as it applies to most domestic public authorities and bodies including: "a court or tribunal, and any person certain of whose function or of a public nature, but does not include either House of Parliament or a person exercising functions in connection with proceedings in Parliament." The right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers. Additionally, Article 19 (2) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights guarantees that such right is available to everyone. Therefore, taken into account that the scope of Article 10 is vaguely broad expanding to nearly any activity that can considered to be "expression" in the literal meaning of the word , the real difficulty was to examine and establish lawful conditions under which any restriction of freedom of expression is lawful. Due to the absolute meaning of the guarantee under Article 19(2) such limitation and restriction of the right was required, excluding certain ways of expression from under its protection. However, it has not been interpreted as a freedom of information guarantee it is rather a right of "freedom to receive information" representing, where a voluntary speaker is interfered with in exercising any of the protected expressive activities, then both the speaker and the potential receiving audience is prima facie deprived from this right. Though some people do not have the right to freedom even though it should be a fundamental human right. They may go to jail if they speak out against their government, have different views, have a different sexuality, or even have a different religion. In egypt they detained at least a dozen gay men at a nearby police station for being gay and in america a couple decades ago black people could not vote. Freedom is deserved to everyone no matter their race, gender, or sexuality. August 28, 1963 is when Martin Luther King Jr. gave his speech on equality of race. "This note was the promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."(e–Book Reader ) Dr.King and many others felt the need for freedoms to change for that all men should be treated equal and deserve happiness in life no matter race. It took the Voting Rights Act of 1965 before the majority of African Americans could register to vote. Black men and women still had to fight today for many things. In particular, it will evaluate the consequences to a democratic society by implementing the restrictions recommended by the Leveson Report, and the supposed disregard for public interest. 2EUROPEAN CONVENTION ON HUMAN RIGHTS Freedom of expression is protected by Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). The Information Commission Office (ICO) has expressed that '"both privacy and freedom of expression are of special importance in a democratic society, and neither consideration automatically trumps the other.' A conundrum arises when balancing the contradicting rights. PRIVACY 3THE LEVESON INQUIRY In 2011, Lord Justice Brian Leveson carried out a 16 month inquiry into the Culture, Practices and Ethics of the British Press, as ordered by Prime Minister David Cameron under the Inquiry Act 2005. This became widely known as 'The Leveson Inquiry'. The inquiry was a result of the preceding phone hacking scandals from the News of the World, into both celebrities and victims such as Mollie Dowler. The inquiry, whilst being deeply intrusive into the businesses practices and attitudes of the press, highlighted the issue of newspapers breaching phone owners' private lives, often not public figures. The phone hacking was an offence in itself under Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA), and journalists such as Clive Goodman were arrested and sentenced to ... • 19. Freedom Of Religion And Human Rights There is a common belief that everyone should have their own rights and freedom towards anything in their life, under a given law and ethics. Freedom to express and to survive have become a standard of living of any human kind. Those standards are inherently planted in any human being and being passed to their inheritance. These rights, as the time passes by, have been expanded and developed into higher and more moderate levels of rights, as given that people have been always seeking for a greater freedom in their own countries and societies. This eager desire for freedom is considered human nature or some sorts, but in certain region with a certain cultures, the ideas of freedom often considered as a false conduct. It was stated that "in the face of mounting tensions between different human rights concerns some observers even assume an abstract antagonism exists between freedom of religion or belief and certain other human rights, such as freedom of expression, gender equality, or LGBTI–rights." (Bielefeldt 3). The most recent phenomenon that have been causing so much debates and argument in the past decades which eventually ended up being legalized, gay marriage might be relevant for this matter. • 22. Human Freedom And The Self By Roderick M. Chisholm Essay In the paper, "Human Freedom and the Self" Roderick M. Chisholm offers his theory of human freedom and defends it against a couple objections. One of the objections we will talk about which is the second objection is connected to the concept of immanent causation, where causation is by an agent, he argues how the statement "the prime mover unmoved" (page 391) has been subject to difficulty. Chisholm explains immanent causation as being an agent causing the event A to happen, but although the agent is causing A to happen the agent is not moved by anything. The argument to this objection is that "there must be some event A, which is caused not by any other event but by the agent" (page 391). Well since A was not cause by another event then the agent couldn't have produced anything either to bring A about, so "what did the agent's causation consist of" (page 391). Also another point that was made in the objection was the question "what is the difference between A's just happening and the agents causing A to happen" (page 391). Chisholm responds by saying that there is a difference between man causing A and an event causing A. The two are not the same because transeunt causation is connected to determinism, which makes the train of events, happen and immanent causation as he explains it is when the agent causes the event. He then sums up his answer by saying the reason "lies in the fact that, in the first case but not the second, the event was caused by the man" (pg. 391) He ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Which is more freeing, the socialist freedom from worry that comes with work for the whole? Or the Libertarian freedom from governance that comes with the responsibility to provide basic needs without help? Freedom is a complicated topic because of the mix of personal responsibility and needs that may impede freedom without outside help. For example, can a person who has lost the use of their legs be truly free without a wheelchair or prosthetic to restore the freedom of mobility? Is freedom simply living without outside interference or is it something more? The answers are more complex than they may seem. Freedom requires a lack of control, cannot work with government, and works on different levels for all people. What does freedom mean? Merriam–Webster takes nine sentences to define it. However, in a nutshell, freedom is "the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action [or] liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power of another"("Freedom"). So, according to this definition, true freedom would be life without hierarchy, law, or coercion. Consequently, an 'every man for himself' definition forms the base of our concept of freedom. Suppose the company conducts research and find out that the clothes it is selling are made by children. It also shows that the society does not educate girls beyond the sixth grade. To worsen the situation,, the researcher found that the society is poor and cannot provide the basic needs to the young girls. The respondent reveals "if you shut this plant down, you will literally take food off the table for these families and that there are no other opportunities in the town." This means that preventing the employment of young girls would cause more problems than improve their situation. On the other hand, laws from country A may prohibit the child labor. However, society's fundamental rights and freedoms need careful protection to ensure their continuation. Reg Whitaker, author of The Devil and Stephen Harper, is one of the many citizens concerned about Canada's new defence policy, Bill C–51. This article vocalizes social unease in Canada due to individual liberties being overlooked in favour of national security. George Orwell furthers this notion through his novel 1984, where a corrupt and apathetic government impedes on human rights and violates their basic human dignity. However, the distinction between these two societies and the determinant of whether the State is able to abuse their power lies within the response of the people. In today's society there is outrage at the deprival of liberties, whereas in Oceania there is utter acceptance. When citizens remain subservient to an oppressive government, it leaves individuals with invaded privacy, no freedom of expression, and without protection from the law, thus diminishing one's human dignity. Respect for an individual is established through granting privacy. By removing the ability to have personal autonomy, one's dignity is lost and government control expands. Moreover, democratic rights and freedom for individuals are part of modern law; rulings such as sadd al–dharai could be presumed that these rights would be impeded upon. Law no matter where in the world it is applied, tries to sustain a necessary order for its citizens and allow no room for undesirable conflicts (El–Fadl, 2006). The fact that such an Islamic ruling may already be in place would come as a surprise to many. Interestingly, in modern Australia the concept of sadd al–dharai is already in place. It has made the American standard for everyone to make it big become rich without doing very little work.
