Title: The Path to Exit
Earlier this year, a startup that I had invested in came to me with a big problem. Things weren't
going so well, and all parts of the startup were feeling worn out. The had a serious lack of energy
and morale. Their biggest problem, however, was their shortage of cash. Even if they let a few
employees go and cut out all unnecessary expenses, they only had 90 days of money left in the bank.
They came to me as a team, ready to return their remaining funds to me and their other investors. I
asked them if they had considered selling, and they admitted that it crossed their minds, but it
seemed like too much work. I guided them through the steps of ... Show more content on

Get Organized
As a startup, you might not have had the time to dedicate to administrative–type tasks like
bookkeeping and contracts. In the beginning, there's not much to be organized anyway. However, a
lack of organization looks messy to outside buyers. While it works for you in this stage, it can instill
doubt in potential buyers. Don't make things hard for potential buyers by leaving things a mess.
Focus on these areas
– Books: make sure all of your expenses are organized and entered, bills are up–to–date, bank
accounts are balanced, and your finances records are in order.
– Contracts: If your contract data is not easily accessible and organized, it is essentially useless to
potential buyers
– IPs: Have a system in place to define your private and public IP addresses and how they are
allocated amongst locations, subnets, users, etc.
– Cap Table: Simplified, your cap table should tell potential buyers who owns what. You can have
holders grouped into simplified buckets called "founders" and "investors." You could even include
formulas that map out the hypothetical sale of your startup. Not only will it impress buyers, but
having an updated and organized cap table allows you to make good decisions quickly.
Use the tools at your disposal to get organized. Cloud–based tools allow you to save and share
documents with potential buyers, and many of them are free to use. Consider

The production department was also responsible for holding the stock.
What we achieved with the research process
The ultimate test was when we found out that there were two companies who are also selling rain
poncho's. We had to make sure to make our product more recognizable and unique. And with
secretly approaching our competitors we were capable of screening their product, so we were aware
and strong enough to compete with our competitors.
We achieved a bigger market share when we came to the conclusion to sell different kinds of
products. Instead of one kind of raincoats we have four variants. Our customers can choose from
different rain ponchos and feel free to compare them, when it comes to the quality and the prices.
The production department worked together closely together with all the departments in the Rainy
Business but especially with the marketing department. This made both departments became more
effective and efficient to get to understand how the customers would like their rain ponchos. This
information is important to keep updated of the wants of our targeted customers. The production
department can respond to them with the rain poncho's who are the closest to their desire to keep
their satisfaction on a high level as we try to make profit in such a short term. This gives us space to

Content Marketing Is Not Like Painting By Numbers
Content marketing is not like painting by numbers. This step–by–step guide is broken in the process
phases. This article covers the planning, execution and reflection phases.
First, this article discusses a few common problems that are faced by professional content marketers.
It then moves onto if you have failed yet, where you learn the best way to guarantee success. The
article then moves on to explain how you sell your brand, and gives some very strong advice on the
platforms you should use. There is then a quick work on tools before final thoughts on the step–by–
step content marketing guidelines.

Sometimes, content marketers feel like they spend hours crafting intricate sand sculptures just
before the tide comes in.
Content Marketing Problem – Uneven Stylistic And Content Rules
So far as your consumers are concerned, your business has one voice. The problem with a large
writing and creative staff is that the content style may appear schizophrenic. The same thing
happened in the Simpsons because they have so many writers. One week Homer is a girly loser, and
the next he is a beer–drinking thug. Strong and balanced stylistic and content rules are required to
help stop this problem.
Content Marketing Problem – Prohibitive Bureaucracy
This is one of the problems mentioned by Joe Lazaukas (mentioned later), and it deserves a place on
this article. Prohibitive bureaucracy is becoming a bigger and bigger problem as the Internet is
regulated and policed more efficiently. The sad part is that to get around such bureaucracy requires a
lot of extra work. For example, Lemmino, of TopTenMemes writes his own music because he is sick
of YouTube taking down his videos whenever he plays a relevant musical score.
If you would like to know more problems that professionals have, then Joe Lazaukas has some very
real and personal insights.

Selling Out Not Worth The Risk Essay
Before a song reaches a radio station or a TV commercial, music artists are creating their beats and
verses wondering how their fans will respond. How will they get their song played? Using their
music in advertising should not be an option in this situation because of overexposure and creating
the proper image.
Overexposure is a huge risk for musical artists when they sell their music to advertisers. The article
"Selling Out Not worth the Risk", by Darrius Johnson, says "Overexposure is a huge risk for popular
bands who license out their music as well; people often tired of hearing the same music every time
they turn on the radio, watch television, or go to the movies." Like said in the quote, people do not
want to hear the same songs over and over again wherever they go because they will eventually get

According to the article "The Changing Landscape of the Music Business", by Jacob Carter, it states
that "A band can make hundreds of thousands of dollars by agreeing to promote a product or license
its music for the use in advertisements." Carter explains that in some cases, artists can make lots of
money by using their music in advertisements. Although, not all artist can make enough money off
of their music. Many people think that when musical artists use their music in advertisements, it's a
good way to put their music out there. In the article "The New Necessity in the Music Business",
Stacia Coates says that "For artists serious about their careers, turning down any form of corporate
sponsorship or licensing agreements could be a mistake. At times, it's not only necessary, but a smart
way to make it in todays music business." For bands just starting out, they will sell their music for
people to listen to, whether it's playing in a store or a commercial, it's a good way to be heard. But,
they don't want to be heard too much and no one buy their

Personal Statement On Marketing And Sales Budget
When I started this simulation, my goal was to make as much of a profit as possible. I went into the
simulation with that mindset, but did not think about the strategy part of the goal. I believe this is
where I went wrong. My first round was not bad, and I still came out with a small profit, but by my
third round, it was nearly impossible to get out of the debt.
If I were to do it over again, I would have borrowed as much money and issued as much stock as
possible to carry me throughout my first few rounds. With this money, I would have invested in
more R&D. I tried to get my high tech product off the ground, but the cost was too much to carry
out successfully. Therefore, I had to focus on my low–tech product to keep me out of as much debt
as possible.
One of my biggest challenges was finding the right place to position my marketing and sales budget.
My second round came turned out to be very successful. I believe this is because I had adjusted the
price correctly and spent just the right amount in my sales and marketing. When I tried to replicate
my success in the next round, it did not return the same results. From that point on, I struggled to
find the best way to position my marketing and sales budget. I believe this also suffered due to lack
of money I did not borrow in the beginning of the simulation.
In the beginning, production was not easy for me to understand. One of my biggest obstacles was
trying to understand how to estimate the number of units I would be

Jane Eyre is one of the earliest English novels with a strong, female central character. Do you think
she sells out by marrying Rochester, thus enabling a conventional, romantic ending to the novel?
"He stretched his hand out to be led." (Jane)
Form start to finish, this novel has had one strong, female central
character – Jane Eyre. We see her fight for independence as a female from her childhood right up
until her marriage. These ardent, passionate beliefs do not leave her once married, if anything; they
get stronger. Jane does not 'sell out' by marrying Rochester for now she is the more powerful half of
the relationship. Jane is her husband's eyes and "He (Rochester) saw nature...books through me."
She has everything ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At first, she appears unruly and undisciplined however she shows her versatility and soon adapts to
the strict regime. For the first time,
Jane meets a friend, Helen Burns. She is amazed at Helen's restraint and acceptance of unjust
punishment, "Burns made no answer: I wondered at her silence." In these three, very similar
occurrences in Jane's early years, we can establish through passionate outburst and a reluctance to be
intimidated that Jane was most definitely a strong, female, central character.
"You are too compulsive; too vehement!"
Wise words from Helen burns, Jane's earliest friend who taught her many life lessons.
It was shortly after Helen's death that Jane felt ready to leave
Lowood for she, "desired liberty; for liberty (she) gasped."
In typical 'Jane manner', she acted upon her impulses and advertised her services in the newspaper
as a governess. At this point in the essay, it is interesting to note the social and 'conventional'
position of women at this time– the 1840s. In Victorian Britain; young, poor women such as Jane
would have had two options– become a
'full time' wife and mother or become a governess; it would be morally improper for a female to do
anything else. While doing a study into the lives of women in the 1800s, Joyce Carol Oates
discovered that women were, "Imagined as merely inhabiting bodies meant to bear children and,
being in other respects, tasteless without appetite."

It 's The American Way Essay
Most people are always striving to better themselves. It 's the "American Way". For proof, check the
sales figures on the number of self–improvement books sold each year. This is not a pitch for you to
jump in and start selling these kinds of books, but it is a indication of people 's awareness that in
order to better themselves, they have to continue improving their personal selling ab abilities.
To excel in any selling situation, you must have confidence, and confidence comes, first and
foremost, from knowledge. You have to know and understand yourself and your goals. You have to
recognize and accept your weaknesses as well as your special talents. This requires a kind of
personal honesty that not everyone is capable of exercising.
In addition to knowing yourself, you must continue learning about people. Just as with yourself, you
must be caring, forgiving and laudatory with others. In any sales effort, you must accept other
people as they are, not as you would like for them to be. One of the most common faults of sales
people is impatience when the prospective customer is slow to understand or make a decision. The
successful salesperson handles these situations the same as he would if he were asking a girl for a
date, or even applying for a new job.
Learning your product, making a clear presentation to qualified prospects, and closing more sales
will take a lot less time once you know your own capabilities and failings, and understand and care
about the prospects you

Key Vehicles Of Communication A Sales Employee At Johnson...
I work for Johnson & Johnson in the Consumer Sales division. Our division is responsible for
selling our consumer products in North America. We have 400+ Sales colleagues which span across
the United States. We work with large retailers like Walmart and Amazon, as well as small regional
retailers like Wegmans and ShopRite. Our goal as an organization is to deliver on sales quotas for
our respective businesses. We are expected to do this by building customer relationships,
discovering actionable insights and driving the business at our respective accounts.
I chose Johnson & Johnson Consumer Sales division because I have worked in this division for the
last four years. During this time I have become acclimated to the communication vehicles the
organization has to offer and therefore felt comfortable to audit these vehicles. In this paper I will
discuss the main vehicles of communication a Sales employee at Johnson & Johnson would interact
with on a regular basis. These vehicles include the Sales Bulletin weekly email, the Sales Cloud,
TouchPoint, Sales Bundled Monthly Conference call, Sales People on the Move weekly email blast,
monthly Town halls with David and Workday. I will describe each vehicle to paint a holistic picture
of the way the organization communicates. Then I will expand on Workday, our system for
performance evaluations. Then I will survey colleagues to analyze the effectiveness of these
vehicles in addition to the more common vehicles used at most

Executive Summary
Winston Hao, the owner of Datavast Inc., is operating at a loss and needs to find out a way to be
profitable this year. Datavast Inc. sells Data Security Boxes to big and small companies in China
who are new to the concept of cloud storage. Winston Hao needs to dial in his target market, but the
real issue is not enough sales. Hao is certain to segment to try to emphasis deep in order for him to
build up his company. One of the issues that affect Datavast would be that either the market is
behind in data storage or none at all. It's also in lack of protection to face bankruptcy. Hao wants to

The other target Hao is looking into is Large–companies. Large–companies would not buy Hao's
products constantly and allowed much higher unit contributions. The larger businesses would
always stick to the same supplier and want the same solution.
Another reason Datavast wasn't growing was because not many companies new about the many
products Hao provided. Because of China businesses feared data leakage, bankruptcy and exposing
their data, companies didn't trust anyone with storing their company information with providers.
Data Analysis and Alternatives Analysis
Winston Hao is the founder of the company Datavast Inc. Hao had several decisions to make for his
business. Even though, Hao had already made numerous adjustments to his original product, he still
didn't know to whom he was going to distribute his new product. His main targets were small–to–
medium enterprise or larger companies. Five years ago Hao worked hard in building his company
and designing the cloud storage product. The purpose was to offer their services not only to North
America but also moving into China. Datavast partnered with China Telecom hoping it would give
them credibility.
Datavast needs to decide if it would be a good idea to sell to small–to–medium enterprise (SME's),
but the companies knows that if they sell to SME's they will be facing several challenges. For

Minecraft Essay
Minecraft is a game where the player uses their imagination to shape the world around them using
the resources they find. In the world everything is shaped like a block or a cube, this includes the
trees, the dirt, the water, the clouds, even the sun, everything. This simple game hasn't even been
released yet but has already sold over one million copies. Minecraft was created by one man,
Markus "Notch" Persson, and this is his story. What makes the story of Minecraft so unique is that it
was created by Notch and only Notch. Notch had a job before Minecraft, working on games for a
company. He started to work on Minecraft in his free time but after a giant popularity spike he

The game sells around 10,000 copies per day. It has become a cultural phenomenon and on January
12, 2011 sales passed the one million mark, but they continued to rise. With popularity increasing,
big name comics like "Penny Arcade" and "Hejibits" discovered the game too and published comic
strips about minecraft, leading to even further sales. Minecraft makes $250,000 a day and continues
to do so. On June 13, 2011, Minecraft passed 2.5 million sales. Today Mojang has 10 employees.
Markus Persson, Jens Bergensten, Daniel Kaplan, Junkboy, Jakob Porser, Carl Manneh, Tobias
Mollstam, Aron Neiminen, Daniel Frisk, and Daniel Rosenfeld. These few people make up the team
that continues to work towards Minecraft's future. But with so few employees things take time. Even
though the game has not been officially released, people who buy the game get a copy of what it is
right now as the updates are being pushed out. With such success Mojang is the target of some
heavy criticism from blogs, critics, and even their own fans. One speculation from fans is that
Minecraft will be the company's 1 hit wonder. What happens if it truly is a one hit wonder? Will the
company go down under? Will it be the end of Mojang? Will they join a publisher in order to stay
afloat and lose their title of "indie?" Another speculation concerns Mojang's next game that has
absolutely nothing to do with Minecraft, not even in the same genre. What if nobody likes the game?

Advantage and Disadvantage of Amazon
Amazon.com is one of the most popular web sites in the short history of the internet. It began as a
book seller and has expanded to include all sorts of general merchandise from clothing to appliances
and more. Amazon.com once sold only new items but the people in charge quickly discovered that a
large market existed for selling used merchandise. They decided to tap into this market for used
goods, creating the Amazon.com Marketplace, a place for consumers to find products at low prices.
What Does This Service Offer?:
Amazon.com Marketplace is simply a service within the Amazon.com web site that caters to those
who want to find used versions of products in order to save money. Also, it provides a means to find
items for sale that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These last two charges vary based on the price level of the item you sell. If you are selling
something like a book, DVD, or CD, Amazon.com Marketplace will charge you a flat fee. If you are
selling something larger, like a DVD player, you will be charged a fee based on the weight.
Commissions are computed as a percentage and depend on the category of the item you sold. If you
sell an electronic item (except for a computer), the commission is six percent. If you sell a computer,
the rate is eight percent. Musical instruments carry a twelve percent commission while items in the
"Everything Else" store will charge you ten percent. All other products will charge you fifteen
percent commission.
When you make a sale, the transaction is handled completely by Amazon.com Marketplace. You do
not need to setup a Paypal account or other on– line financial account. All you need is a bank
account. Amazon.com will deposit the money directly to your bank every two weeks.
Shipping Charges:
Probably the greatest disadvantage of the Amazon.com Marketplace for buyers is the added shipping
charges. Almost everything you buy will have a shipping charge added. And, unfortunately, you
cannot take advantage of Amazon.com's free shipping offer on orders of $25 or more. If you are
buying from the Marketplace, this and other "free" offers no longer apply.

Apax partners ad Xerium S.A. Essay
APAX PARTNERS AND XERIUM S.A.
1. What tactics/actions did Apax take to enable it to acquire BTRP in an auction without over–
paying? How did Apax add value to Xerium?
Apax took a well–designed strategy to bid for Xerium. First, they understood it was not a
competitive auction. Secondly, they took advantage of the momentum and circumstances of the
seller that was under distress. Finally, they spent huge resources to analyze and calculate the value
of Xerium to Apax.
First, they analyzed the competitors in the auction. The team observed it was a very opaque industry
with only few companies public, limiting the access to information. Luckily, Apax had a competitive
advantage (Wangner's expertise) in the industry which allows ... Show more content on

Also, the market downturn in the paper industry may have a pressure on the price compared with its
real value.
Renegotiating with the third bidder is also a clean exit for Apax with the target buyer partly
educated. Unfortunately, another round of negotiation will distract the management from operations,
especially when Xerium is being put in the disadvantage side in the negotiation. As the only
potential buyer, the third bidder may raise a lot of special requests including but not limited to price
and due diligence. Moreover, the bidder has the incentive to "take his time" in making the decision,
since the market downturn may further pressure the price.
Recapitalization seems to be the best alternative discussed in the case, mainly because of the
underlying 39% IRR (discussed below). There are chances to expand the pie (through consolidation
and/or operational improvement) and sell it at a higher price, taking the advantage of the potential
market pick–up in 2003. Two potential risks are that the higher price is not guaranteed and that there
is low interest from financial buyers and no powerful strategic buyer, future selling negotiations may
take time again.
IPO is not feasible either. As discussed in the case, the company, although the market leader in its
field, is too small in terms of revenue for an IPO. The paper sector is not hot

The Work Atmosphere At Target
The work atmosphere at Target is wonderful. My old co–workers are the nicest people ever, even the

Selling In International Marketing Essay
Some small companies never thought about going global, or in other words, becoming international
retailers. They think of selling their products in foreign countries and think of ways to do so. Before
you know it, they have become global marketers. Many companies know that by doing business in
other countries, they can broaden their potential buyers. By selling to foreign customers, though,
retailers are stumbling upon roadblocks. Selling their product in international markets is not the
same as selling in the United States. Retailers, especially small businesses with limited resources,

Depending on what type of business you are in, you can find similar companies in other countries
and form a partnership. This gives the seller more recognition in the foreign country. But, it is
usually more costly due to the added expense of another office. By forming a partnership with a
company that is in the country you want to do business in, the partner possibly has a list of contacts,
already. This makes selling the product or service a lot easier. Still though, companies wanting to
expand in foreign markets must be careful in choosing their partners. If they are not careful whom
they choose as a partner, they could risk losing control of their product or service. And, they need to
pay close attention to the day to day activities of selling. Some small businesses get too hasty
because they want to expand their market and gross profit, so they make bad judgment calls when it
comes to finding a company to form their joint venture with. The third method is by using a
licensing agreement. Basically, the foreign company/business buys the rights to the American
product. They become the licensees. This would seem the simplest method, since the licensee, it
seems, would sell the product then send you a check every month or so depending on the contract.
However, you have to be careful of this strategy as well. Some licensees buy the product and then
shove it back on the shelves so it won't compete with

Ota is the problem, it really is Mr. Fujita. He has inefficient training and sales.
If Mr. Takamatsu gets Mr. Fujita the appropriate training, he can increase his sales, and that would
relate to increasing the profit in Takamatsu's Sports Enterprise.

Pyramid Door Case Analysis
I. Problem statement Which strategy should Pyramid Door, Inc. implement, along with increased
advertising for 100 dealers to achieve the sales goal of $12.5 million for the year of 2006? The four
strategic options are increasing the number of non–exclusive dealers by 100, developing a formal
executive franchise with 27 dealers so they would exclusively sell Pyramid Door products, reduce
the number of non–exlusive dealers by 100, and the last plan was to only do a better job with current
distribution policy and network. II. Industry Analysis A. National industry analysis: In the

the residential garage door industry sales were expected to reach $2.2 billion with 90% of sales
being steel garage doors. Demand for replacement garage doors was driven by the continued aging
of the housing stock and the conversion of homeowners from wood doors to lighter weight, easier–
to–maintain steel doors. Also, product innovations such as insulated steel doors, new springing
systems, and residential garage doors with improved safety features have made steel doors
increasingly popular. B. Industry analysis in Pyramid's trade area: Pyramid Door's projected market
share for 2005 was 2.6%. Independent dealers typically sold 3 different brands and there was a
clearly dominant brand which accounted for 60% of total garage door sales, the second brand which
accounted for 30% of sales, and the weakest brand which accounted for 10% of sales. Since there
are 50 exclusive dealers serving 50 markets and 300 non–exclusive dealers serving 100 markets that
means that there are 3 non–exclusive dealers per market. Exclusive dealers accounted for 70% of

America's Blood Centers are also not funded through the government. Instead, individual donors are
the main contributors who provide the funding for all of ABC's activities. Similar to ARC, ABC has

Personal Selling Recommendations ARC and ABC have established strong marketing tactics for

Impacts Of Mass Shootings
In the United States so far this year, there have been 391 mass shootings (Mass Shooting Tracker,
2017). The rise in the number of incidents of gun violence leaves many wondering what legal action
the victims of these tragic events can take. While those who can be held accountable for such acts
differ from case to case, there is one commonality that links each of these 386 incidents – the
manufacturers of the guns used to commit these crimes will not be held liable. Under the Protection
of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) passed in the United States in 2005, gun manufacturers
and dealers are protected from qualified civil liability actions brought in any Federal or State court
(Chu, 2012). I believe that this should not be the case and that gun manufacturers should be held
liable to victims of mass shootings as many of these events are caused by negligent selling practices
and that imposing civil liability will reduce the amount of gun violence we are all subjected to.
While one cannot subject gun manufacturers to civil liability for marketing and selling guns that do
exactly what they were intended to do (i.e. hurt other people), these manufacturers should be held
liable for negligent marketing and selling practices that allow them to evade some of the more
stringent distribution rules such as background checks. For example, some gun manufacturers "sell
semiautomatics weapons in the form of complete parts kids in order to avoid federally mandated
background checks that

The Work Atmosphere At Target
The work atmosphere at Target is wonderful. My old co–workers are the nicest people ever, even the
costumers would comment on that. Yet I hated working there. The reason I hated working at Target
is because as a cashier I had to sell the Red Card to everyone. When I got the job, I did not expect
that I would have to sell this piece of plastic. Target expected me to be a salesperson. I could never
sell the Red Card, even though I told every costumer my sales pitch. In the two months I worked at
Target, I was only able to sell two, and one of those was to my mother. My supervisors kept pushing
me to sell more. Everyone I approached either had one or hated it. Being unable to sell them stressed
me out. That stress started to come home with me. I started to dread going to work everyday. That
piece of plastic made me hate my job and want to quit. I started to look for another job, one that
would fit my needs better. I also wanted a job that wouldn 't stress me out. Then one day I saw a post
on Facebook that said " I am needing to hire a new teacher aid at my school in Brooklyn Center. Let
me know as soon as possible if you are, or know someone who might be interested." The job seemed
wonderful. I would be working with kids, which is my favorite thing ever. I've been babysitting my
cousins since I was eleven and helping out in the Church nursery. I looked forward to seeing those
kids every week. I thought this job would be so much better job then

eBay Powerseller Essay
The secrets of eBay Power Sellers!
How to MAKE MONEY on eBay
Use this valuable guide as a MONEY MAKING TOOL. Read it from start to finish over and over.
The amount of information and wholesale sources you will find seems overwhelming at first, but
don't be intimidated. Take your time and be patient. It is going to take you several days to check out
the sites because there are just so many items to choose from.
This guide is updated for 2003 and the resources are used by eBay Power Sellers ALL the time.
I have been selling on eBay for some time, almost 3 years now. Almost from the beginning, I
wondered how Power Sellers obtain products so cheap that they can sell on eBay and STILL MAKE
MONEY. Here are THE ANSWERS.

You will pay a bit more but it is definitely worth it to allow as many people as possible to see your
listing. We try to do a bit of listing everyday from 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm (east coast). You don't
want to list your items too late. The most exposure your auction will receive will be during the last 4
hours of your auction. That is the busiest time for bidding on items. If you list too late in the
evening, no one will be willing to stay up just to bid on your item unless they use a software tool
(snipe) that will do it for them.
3. TOOLS: I highly recommend investing in a digital camera. Film and processing are very
expensive. If you plan on doing eBay full time, the camera will pay for itself incredibly fast. I
suggest that the Buyer pays for shipping. You want to make sure you quote their shipping price
correctly. The post office has a list of prices according to weight. It is a good idea to get a list for
your records. We also recommend calling the number on the priority boxes, they will send you most
of what you need for FREE!!!! TAPE, PREPRINTED ADDRESS LABELS, BOXES etc! The profit
margin will decrease if you find yourself paying for these items here and there. You will also want to
ship all of your items out at least 2 or 3 times per week. Buyers want their purchases fast so try to
avoid negative feedback by shipping out the merchandise yourself, or having it drop–shipped as
quickly as possible.
4. LISTING: I don't recommend

Jefferson Pilot: Growing the Sales Force Essay
Jefferson Pilot: Growing the Sales Force
Discussion Questions
1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using a career sales force versus an independent
sales force?
A career sales force that the company hires, trains, supervises, and compensates likely will be more
loyal than an independent sales force. As the case notes, these career salespeople sell only JPF
policies. They also learn and contribute to establishing and maintaining the organization's "culture."
They learn how things work at the company and can do a better job of negotiating the bureaucratic
structure of a large organization.
On the other hand, an independent salesperson by definition represents a variety of companies.
He/she is not necessarily loyal to any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are willing to accept more fixed cost to do so.
Again, it is important to understand the trade–offs made in making compensation decisions and to
see how those decisions fit with the rest of the strategy.
3. What problems do you see with JPF's sales force strategy and structure decisions?
With respect to the career and independent agents, there really is no specific structure as discussed
in the case. Any agent who is licensed by JPF can sell a policy to anyone, anywhere as long as the
company approves the application. The field sales force is neither territorial, product, or customer
focused, although individual agents could make such decisions for their own work.
For the SVPs, who are the subject of the case, there is a territorial structure (each SVP has an
assigned multi–state area) and a customer structure (SVPs work only with IMOs, not with individual
agents). Thus, considering the IMOs to be "customers," we have a complex structure as described in
the case.
The first problem develops when JPF considers the issue of sales force size. Bob Powell notes in the
case that he doesn't believe that a SVP can develop effective relationships with more than 30 IMOs.
This suggests a workload approach to growing the sales force. However, the decision to compensate
SVPs on the basis of 100 percent commission based on sales in their territories means that the SVPs
are reluctant to see "their" territories subdivided. It is human nature to want to keep as much of

Principles That Can Help Better My Sales
Three principles that can help better my sales
Having a positive mindset will make you become a winner in your sales. What you say to yourself
has such a huge effect on how your performance of sales will turn out. Your belief system will either
determine a positive attitude about your success or a negative attitude. What you say and think about
your sales success is very powerful and can have an affect on your confidence as a whole. Your
thoughts can and will set you up for failure if you let them. Some ways to sell more is believing in
what you are selling. Making a goal of how many sales you want to make that day and positively
envisioning yourself reaching that goal. I have watched so many people fail ... Show more content

I have already been practicing the positive mindset principle into my life. Positive thinking has
always been the way I think and I will continue to do that in all that I do. I plan to remain positive
even when sales or life gets hard. Everything will get better when you are positive.
Sales is important no matter what your career becomes. Everything you do, you sell. Our mind is
very powerful and will only break us down because we are human and are harsh on ourselves. If you
expect to sell whatever it is we are selling, than your first principle is to be optimistic rather than
pessimistic. To stay on the positive track of sales you must overcome the advisory and the negative
thoughts he brings to mind. So lets say sales does become your job, and you aren 't doing so well
because you just started off. Does this mean you start believing your negative thoughts and give up ?
No you don 't. This is normal to think you are lacking the skill of a talented salesman but talent takes
time. Here is an example of a pessimistic thought process every salesman goes through. It 's called
the ABCD model. "A" stands for adversity. Your thoughts are telling you you suck and can 't sell
anything. "B" stands for belief. If you start to believe that you suck at selling things than that will
lead to poor sales techniques in your future

There 's more than one way you can make money selling on Amazon. I 'm going to tell you about
the main ones in this article.
First of all, Amazon Marketplace. Marketplace offers you an opportunity to sell products (not just
books but a whole range of things) on the exact same ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It costs 86p plus a referral fee for each sale. You are also restricted to the product categories you can
sell in. However, the advantage is that it costs virtually nothing to start and there are no ongoing
charges if, initially, you don 't sell very much.
Selling 'a lot ' is for professional sellers who expect to sell more than 35 items a month. You pay a
28.75 monthly fixed fee and a referral fee. You can sell in all the Amazon product categories.
It isn 't always viable to list low price, low volume products as a 'sell a little ' seller. To do that you
need to be a 'sell a lot ' seller! However, I 'd recommend you take the 'selling a little ' route to start
out with. You can always upgrade later.
Choose your option, then fill in the online form.
Pro Merchant Sellers
Once you are selling 'a lot ' you will probably also want to become what Amazon call a Pro
Merchant Seller. Pro Merchants have access to volume selling and bulk listing tools. There is a web
interface that allows you to more easily manage your product descriptions, inventory and orders.
You will also be able to export and import information to and from your account.
Once you get up and running the selling a lot/Pro Merchant option will work out much cheaper and,
importantly, will allow you to work on tighter margins and make money from sales that those who
sell just a little can 't.

Reflection Of Reading : My Experience In The 21st Century
I am a new, better reader; In school I have always struggle in English whether it was reading or
finding the right thing to say and always having the fear that it would keep repeating. When I came
into this english 10 class I learned certain skill I have never been taught before that helped me grow
as a student and a reader. These strategies that I was taught in this class gave me a new way at
viewing books, short stories or movies. Recently in class we read the book The Chocolate War by
Robert Cormier by these skill I have been taught in class influenced the way I experienced the book
The Chocolate War. When I was reading the book The Chocolate War I was able to understand
certain keys and symbols that I would not have known or understood if I was not taught the right
way, For example in the book from chapter 8 when Guber was given an assignment two loosen all
the screws from chairs, desk and boards so everything would fall apart. When Guber arrived in this
classroom to do his assignment there were other kids there but he didn't know who they were and
they helped him. In this part of the book this shows my growth in english throughout this year
because when these kids came in they weren't like guber they had masks on and smelled like pizza.
When these people are wearing masks it shows that they are anonymous/anonymity and smells like
pizza to show that it is like a party to them. The second example is when Jerry is looking at himself
in the mirror this is important because in the book his dad is shown as living in a very dull life and
when Jerry looks at himself in the mirror he sees his father face reflected in his own features and
this is effecting him because he wants to live a life with excitement, risks and changes. A third
example is when Jerry changes his popularity at the beginning of the book he was seen as a
freshman trying out for the football team and someone who didn't want to sell chocolate. At first
when Jerry decided to not sell chocolate people thought it was stupid for him not to sell but when he
began to get a reaction from Brother Leon and stood up for himself he became very popular for not
selling chocolates. Then when he continues to not sell any chocolate it creates a big argument

A Summary Of Robert Cormier'sThe Chocolate War?
I originally selected to read the The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier. I read this book because of
all of the debate on whether it was right for this person to reject to do an annual school chocolate
sale for the school.
The Chocolate War starts with out with Archie needing to recruit people for selling all of the
chocolates. The church school sells chocolates every single year and Brother Leon ordered twice as
many chocolates as he did last year. This introduces the main characters Archie who is mostly in
charge, Jerry who doesn't want to sell anything, and Brother Eugene and Brother Leon who is in
charge of the entire project. Archie wants to get Jerry in on selling the chocolates and Goober says
no because his mother had just passed away. Then the book moves to Jerry who just wants to be
normal like other people. He ends up accidentally staring at a guy at the bus stop and the guy tell
him that he is stuck in a boring routine. After this is goes back to Archie who is talking to Brother
Leon. Archie is surprised after Brother Leon tells him that he ordered twenty thousand chocolate
boxes because they were on sale and that they school is usually really good at selling the chocolates.
After Archie does the math he realizes it will be really difficult and each student needs to sell 50
boxes each.
After Archie finding out about the double in chocolates Roland Goubert, who is call The Goober, is
given an assignment from the Vigils, which is the school's gang. Archie tells The

The most obvious advantage of video marketing is that it's so highly engaging. The human brain has
evolved in order to pay attention to moving images and sounds and this is why we are naturally
inclined to stop and watch the television when it's on in the background. Have you ever been talking
to someone when there's a television in the room only to notice that they're actually looking straight
past you and at the screen? The sound could be off and it could even be playing adverts but still
some people will be almost unable to turn away. This isn't anything personal (usually), it's just a
perfect example of how moving images hold our attention.
Another great example is a classroom. Do you remember when the teacher would say they were
going to put on a video for a particular lesson? Even the noisiest of classes would fall silent and
become very well behaved at this point – even when the topic of the video wasn't anything
particularly interesting. Video has an almost hypnotic quality and this is an excellent trait for any

Breed Morphs Marketing Plan
Company: My company will be located in a Pennsylvania warehouse. Warehouse space is cheaper
in Pennsylvania than in New Jersey, more space equates to more animals, which ultimately leads to
more money. My company will specialize in breeding morph turtles and lizards. Morph means that
the reptiles can have various colors and patterns. Some of them can even be albino, which will
increase their worth because of how rare they are. This company is unique because I will be
breeding turtles and lizards in morph form. People do not normally breed morphs in big businesses
because they do not have the space. Morphs sell out quick, as one can almost count on them being
sold in two months or less after birth, for a hefty price.
Market opportunity: I will build my company through instagram by taking pictures daily of all the
animals eating and close ups of their colors. There will be a website that you can go on to see what

Before you can find the right supplier, you need to be very clear in exactly what products you're
looking for and how many you're looking for. What products will you be selling? Do you need a
manufacturer or trader? Have you identified your initial demand for the product you're looking for a
supplier for? Or do you plan on drop shipping?
The Step 2: Supplier Research
It's safe to say that there will be an abundance of AliExpress suppliers selling just the product you
are looking to sell or drop ship. So how do you find them? A simple product search will enable you
to find a list of possible suppliers to choose

Selling Everything Before Moving : My Life
Selling everything before moving
I have been moving my whole life. When I was with my parents I moved because of my their jobs;
now because of my job. My parents used to rent a commercial truck, hire helpers or hire movers.
Everything seemed so easy back then. I even did not pack my own stuff, my mom did it for me.
Now the moving is not so much fun and many times it is nightmare when I have no help at all. I
have been living on my own for almost ten years now. I had so many ideas for my apartment /house
but I hardly bought anything more than I really needed. I thought that would be a waste of money if
I am not able to take them with me. I used to throw or give away my belongings. These days I buy
whatever I like and sell them instead. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I used Offerup, Letgo, and 5 miles. Facebook is also popular for selling in buying old stuff these
days.
Craigslist: Many people neglect craigslist these days and only use other mobile apps. Do not make
that mistake. There are still many people who use Craigslist especially people who are looking for
used items. I sold my 80% of belonging from Craiglist. I was so surprised that buyers from Craiglist
did not try to bargain, they just paid listed price and they were the people who actually showed up
even though it was days later. From other apps you will get lots of messages, they will bargain a lot
and mostly won't show up. I think people who are using these other apps are mostly browsing
people or window shopping. I did sell from other apps too but Craigslist is the best for selling your
used furniture, kitchen wares etc.
Price: When I first started selling on the internet, I used to have a low price for my items after all
they were used items. But buyers' asking price would be 80%–40% less than listed price. I got so
frustrated that I changed my listing price 50–60% up than I had initially listed. And yes I did get
more money than I initially expected. If you have a lower price for your items, buyers would think
those are not good and won't be ready to give you a good price. If you listed same items for the
higher price, buyers would think items are good and would pay you a good price.

Most organizations, that maintain a sales force, believe in just two approaches to advancing the sales
skills of their sales team: The Minimalist Approach and the Process Approach. Few, if any, ever
consider the impact emotions have on sales success. Before we talk about he value of emotion in the
sales process, lets make sure we understand what is involved in the two, most popular, sales training
methods. A brief explanation of the Minimalist and the Process sales approach may properly set the
stage for a productive discussion about what is really needed to grow a "World Class" sales team.
The Minimalist Approach
This approach may best be exemplified by a story about my own entry into the sales profession,
nearly half a century ago. I was 17 and getting ready for the summer between my Junior and Senior
year in High School. For the previous 4 summers I had worked in the local grain elevator shoveling
wheat, sacking and stacking feed and seed in the warehouse and emptying boxcars filled with grain.
All good solid jobs but no real

Re: Revenue Assessment
Thank you for the opportunity to assess your sales data in order to provide recommendations for
increasing your sales. The analysis and recommendations below are based on the data you provided,
which covers a period from May 2004 through June 2006. The analysis below is based on this data
alone. Therefore, our recommendations should be tempered by your knowledge of business realities
and your market. Please let us know if we can answer any questions concerning the analysis or the
recommendations provided.
ANALYSIS 1: Total Sales by Country
Analysis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also take careful attention to notice the difference in the two quarters from 2004 and 2006. It looks
like a majority of your sales representatives are making solid revenue for the company.
Graphic
Recommendation
My recommendation would be for starters, enroll every sales rep in a sales training class. Upon
completion of I would set a goal that each sales rep must contribute at least 10% of the net income
for the company. Since there are 9 sales reps this leaves some room for extra. This will not only
force the sales reps to work together, and encourage friendly competition. I also recommend you
elect a sales representative team leader (for example Miss Peacock who is consistently your top
sales person) and empower her to encourage, coach and teacher the other sales reps in her methods
and tricks.
ANALYSIS 3: Total Revenues by Month in 2005
Analysis
After careful consideration, I decided to look at the yearly trend of just 2005 since we have all the
data from that year. If you will notice, October is by far the biggest selling month, whereas July is
the lowest, but mostly the trend is pretty consistent across the year.
Graphic
Recommendation I recommend that we find out what about October spikes sales, and try to apply it
to the rest of the year. Also, I'd consider adding special sales and discounts in March and April, the
lowest sales months of the year, that should help perk up

Goal : The Path Of Exit Goal: The Path to Exit Total Word Count in this Document: 1951 Title: The Path to Exit Earlier this year, a startup that I had invested in came to me with a big problem. Things weren't going so well, and all parts of the startup were feeling worn out. The had a serious lack of energy and morale. Their biggest problem, however, was their shortage of cash. Even if they let a few employees go and cut out all unnecessary expenses, they only had 90 days of money left in the bank. In the beginning, there's not much to be organized anyway. However, a lack of organization looks messy to outside buyers. While it works for you in this stage, it can instill doubt in potential buyers. Don't make things hard for potential buyers by leaving things a mess. Focus on these areas – Books: make sure all of your expenses are organized and entered, bills are up–to–date, bank accounts are balanced, and your finances records are in order. – Contracts: If your contract data is not easily accessible and organized, it is essentially useless to potential buyers – IPs: Have a system in place to define your private and public IP addresses and how they are allocated amongst locations, subnets, users, etc. – Cap Table: Simplified, your cap table should tell potential buyers who owns what. You can have holders grouped into simplified buckets called "founders" and "investors." You could even include formulas that map out the hypothetical sale of your startup. Not only will it impress buyers, but having an updated and organized cap table allows you to make good decisions quickly. Use the tools at your disposal to get organized. This article covers the planning, execution and reflection phases. First, this article discusses a few common problems that are faced by professional content marketers. It then moves onto if you have failed yet, where you learn the best way to guarantee success. The article then moves on to explain how you sell your brand, and gives some very strong advice on the platforms you should use. There is then a quick work on tools before final thoughts on the step–by– step content marketing guidelines. Sometimes, content marketers feel like they spend hours crafting intricate sand sculptures just before the tide comes in. Content Marketing Problem – Uneven Stylistic And Content Rules So far as your consumers are concerned, your business has one voice. The problem with a large writing and creative staff is that the content style may appear schizophrenic. The same thing happened in the Simpsons because they have so many writers. One week Homer is a girly loser, and the next he is a beer–drinking thug. Strong and balanced stylistic and content rules are required to help stop this problem. Content Marketing Problem – Prohibitive Bureaucracy This is one of the problems mentioned by Joe Lazaukas (mentioned later), and it deserves a place on this article. Prohibitive bureaucracy is becoming a bigger and bigger problem as the Internet is regulated and policed more efficiently. The sad part is that to get around such bureaucracy requires a lot of extra work. For example, Lemmino, of TopTenMemes writes his own music because he is sick of YouTube taking down his videos whenever he plays a relevant musical score. If you would like to know more problems that professionals have, then Joe Lazaukas has some very real and personal insights.

How will they get their song played? Using their music in advertising should not be an option in this situation because of overexposure and creating the proper image. Overexposure is a huge risk for musical artists when they sell their music to advertisers. The article "Selling Out Not worth the Risk", by Darrius Johnson, says "Overexposure is a huge risk for popular bands who license out their music as well; people often tired of hearing the same music every time they turn on the radio, watch television, or go to the movies." Many people think that when musical artists use their music in advertisements, it's a good way to put their music out there. • 24. Personal Statement On Marketing And Sales Budget When I started this simulation, my goal was to make as much of a profit as possible. I went into the simulation with that mindset, but did not think about the strategy part of the goal. I believe this is where I went wrong. My first round was not bad, and I still came out with a small profit, but by my third round, it was nearly impossible to get out of the debt. If I were to do it over again, I would have borrowed as much money and issued as much stock as possible to carry me throughout my first few rounds. With this money, I would have invested in more R&D. I tried to get my high tech product off the ground, but the cost was too much to carry out successfully. Therefore, I had to focus on my low–tech product to keep me out of as much debt as possible. One of my biggest challenges was finding the right place to position my marketing and sales budget. My second round came turned out to be very successful. I believe this is because I had adjusted the price correctly and spent just the right amount in my sales and marketing. When I tried to replicate my success in the next round, it did not return the same results. From that point on, I struggled to find the best way to position my marketing and sales budget. I believe this also suffered due to lack of money I did not borrow in the beginning of the simulation. In the beginning, production was not easy for me to understand. One of my biggest obstacles was trying to understand how to estimate the number of units I would be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Do you think she sells out by marrying Rochester, thus enabling a conventional, romantic ending to the novel? "He stretched his hand out to be led." (Jane) Form start to finish, this novel has had one strong, female central character – Jane Eyre. We see her fight for independence as a female from her childhood right up until her marriage. These ardent, passionate beliefs do not leave her once married, if anything; they get stronger. Jane does not 'sell out' by marrying Rochester for now she is the more powerful half of the relationship. Jane is her husband's eyes and "He (Rochester) saw nature...books through me." She has everything ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At first, she appears unruly and undisciplined however she shows her versatility and soon adapts to the strict regime. For the first time, Jane meets a friend, Helen Burns. She is amazed at Helen's restraint and acceptance of unjust punishment, "Burns made no answer: I wondered at her silence." In these three, very similar occurrences in Jane's early years, we can establish through passionate outburst and a reluctance to be intimidated that Jane was most definitely a strong, female, central character. "You are too compulsive; too vehement!" Wise words from Helen burns, Jane's earliest friend who taught her many life lessons. It was shortly after Helen's death that Jane felt ready to leave Lowood for she, "desired liberty; for liberty (she) gasped." In typical 'Jane manner', she acted upon her impulses and advertised her services in the newspaper as a governess. At this point in the essay, it is interesting to note the social and 'conventional' position of women at this time– the 1840s. In Victorian Britain; young, poor women such as Jane would have had two options– become a 'full time' wife and mother or become a governess; it would be morally improper for a female to do anything else. While doing a study into the lives of women in the 1800s, Joyce Carol Oates discovered that women were, "Imagined as merely inhabiting bodies meant to bear children and, being in other respects, tasteless without appetite."

  • 33. It 's The American Way Essay Most people are always striving to better themselves. It 's the "American Way". For proof, check the sales figures on the number of self–improvement books sold each year. This is not a pitch for you to jump in and start selling these kinds of books, but it is a indication of people 's awareness that in order to better themselves, they have to continue improving their personal selling ab abilities. To excel in any selling situation, you must have confidence, and confidence comes, first and foremost, from knowledge. You have to know and understand yourself and your goals. You have to recognize and accept your weaknesses as well as your special talents. This requires a kind of personal honesty that not everyone is capable of exercising. In addition to knowing yourself, you must continue learning about people. Just as with yourself, you must be caring, forgiving and laudatory with others. In any sales effort, you must accept other people as they are, not as you would like for them to be. One of the most common faults of sales people is impatience when the prospective customer is slow to understand or make a decision. The successful salesperson handles these situations the same as he would if he were asking a girl for a date, or even applying for a new job. Learning your product, making a clear presentation to qualified prospects, and closing more sales will take a lot less time once you know your own capabilities and failings, and understand and care about the prospects you ... In the world everything is shaped like a block or a cube, this includes the trees, the dirt, the water, the clouds, even the sun, everything. This simple game hasn't even been released yet but has already sold over one million copies. Minecraft was created by one man, Markus "Notch" Persson, and this is his story. What makes the story of Minecraft so unique is that it was created by Notch and only Notch. Notch had a job before Minecraft, working on games for a company. The game sells around 10,000 copies per day. It has become a cultural phenomenon and on January 12, 2011 sales passed the one million mark, but they continued to rise. With popularity increasing, big name comics like "Penny Arcade" and "Hejibits" discovered the game too and published comic strips about minecraft, leading to even further sales. Minecraft makes $250,000 a day and continues to do so. On June 13, 2011, Minecraft passed 2.5 million sales. Today Mojang has 10 employees. Markus Persson, Jens Bergensten, Daniel Kaplan, Junkboy, Jakob Porser, Carl Manneh, Tobias Mollstam, Aron Neiminen, Daniel Frisk, and Daniel Rosenfeld. Even though the game has not been officially released, people who buy the game get a copy of what it is right now as the updates are being pushed out. With such success Mojang is the target of some heavy criticism from blogs, critics, and even their own fans. One speculation from fans is that Minecraft will be the company's 1 hit wonder. What happens if it truly is a one hit wonder? Will the company go down under? Will it be the end of Mojang? Will they join a publisher in order to stay afloat and lose their title of "indie?" It began as a book seller and has expanded to include all sorts of general merchandise from clothing to appliances and more. Amazon.com once sold only new items but the people in charge quickly discovered that a large market existed for selling used merchandise. They decided to tap into this market for used goods, creating the Amazon.com Marketplace, a place for consumers to find products at low prices. What Does This Service Offer?: Amazon.com Marketplace is simply a service within the Amazon.com web site that caters to those who want to find used versions of products in order to save money. If you sell an electronic item (except for a computer), the commission is six percent. If you sell a computer, the rate is eight percent. Musical instruments carry a twelve percent commission while items in the "Everything Else" store will charge you ten percent. All other products will charge you fifteen percent commission. How did Apax add value to Xerium? Apax took a well–designed strategy to bid for Xerium. First, they understood it was not a competitive auction. Secondly, they took advantage of the momentum and circumstances of the seller that was under distress. Finally, they spent huge resources to analyze and calculate the value of Xerium to Apax. Also, the market downturn in the paper industry may have a pressure on the price compared with its real value. Renegotiating with the third bidder is also a clean exit for Apax with the target buyer partly educated. Unfortunately, another round of negotiation will distract the management from operations, especially when Xerium is being put in the disadvantage side in the negotiation. As the only potential buyer, the third bidder may raise a lot of special requests including but not limited to price and due diligence. Moreover, the bidder has the incentive to "take his time" in making the decision, since the market downturn may further pressure the price. Recapitalization seems to be the best alternative discussed in the case, mainly because of the underlying 39% IRR (discussed below). There are chances to expand the pie (through consolidation and/or operational improvement) and sell it at a higher price, taking the advantage of the potential market pick–up in 2003. Two potential risks are that the higher price is not guaranteed and that there is low interest from financial buyers and no powerful strategic buyer, future selling negotiations may take time again. But, it is usually more costly due to the added expense of another office. By forming a partnership with a company that is in the country you want to do business in, the partner possibly has a list of contacts, already. This makes selling the product or service a lot easier. Still though, companies wanting to expand in foreign markets must be careful in choosing their partners. • 90. Impacts Of Mass Shootings In the United States so far this year, there have been 391 mass shootings (Mass Shooting Tracker, 2017). The rise in the number of incidents of gun violence leaves many wondering what legal action the victims of these tragic events can take. While those who can be held accountable for such acts differ from case to case, there is one commonality that links each of these 386 incidents – the manufacturers of the guns used to commit these crimes will not be held liable. Under the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) passed in the United States in 2005, gun manufacturers and dealers are protected from qualified civil liability actions brought in any Federal or State court (Chu, 2012). I believe that this should not be the case and that gun manufacturers should be held liable to victims of mass shootings as many of these events are caused by negligent selling practices and that imposing civil liability will reduce the amount of gun violence we are all subjected to. While one cannot subject gun manufacturers to civil liability for marketing and selling guns that do exactly what they were intended to do (i.e. hurt other people), these manufacturers should be held liable for negligent marketing and selling practices that allow them to evade some of the more stringent distribution rules such as background checks. For example, some gun manufacturers "sell semiautomatics weapons in the form of complete parts kids in order to avoid federally mandated background checks that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

McCauley describes how conservation efforts are fueled by the economic advantages it possesses and are carried out solely for the purpose of benefiting our economic markets. McCauley states that ecosystem services are "economic benefits provided by natural ecosystems" (27), arguing that the only incentive for mankind to save nature depends on how profitable nature can be. He emphasizes that our attention should not be put forth in commodifying nature but rather, inculcating respect and love for it so that we can preserve it for many years to come. • 106. The Work Atmosphere At Target The work atmosphere at Target is wonderful. My old co–workers are the nicest people ever, even the costumers would comment on that. Yet I hated working there. The reason I hated working at Target is because as a cashier I had to sell the Red Card to everyone. When I got the job, I did not expect that I would have to sell this piece of plastic. Target expected me to be a salesperson. I could never sell the Red Card, even though I told every costumer my sales pitch. In the two months I worked at Target, I was only able to sell two, and one of those was to my mother. My supervisors kept pushing me to sell more. Everyone I approached either had one or hated it. Being unable to sell them stressed me out. That stress started to come home with me. I started to dread going to work everyday. That piece of plastic made me hate my job and want to quit. I started to look for another job, one that would fit my needs better. I also wanted a job that wouldn 't stress me out. Then one day I saw a post on Facebook that said " I am needing to hire a new teacher aid at my school in Brooklyn Center. Let me know as soon as possible if you are, or know someone who might be interested." The job seemed wonderful. I would be working with kids, which is my favorite thing ever. The amount of information and wholesale sources you will find seems overwhelming at first, but don't be intimidated. Take your time and be patient. It is going to take you several days to check out the sites because there are just so many items to choose from. This guide is updated for 2003 and the resources are used by eBay Power Sellers ALL the time. I have been selling on eBay for some time, almost 3 years now. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You will pay a bit more but it is definitely worth it to allow as many people as possible to see your listing. We try to do a bit of listing everyday from 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm (east coast). You don't want to list your items too late. The most exposure your auction will receive will be during the last 4 hours of your auction. That is the busiest time for bidding on items. If you list too late in the evening, no one will be willing to stay up just to bid on your item unless they use a software tool (snipe) that will do it for them. 3. TOOLS: I highly recommend investing in a digital camera. Film and processing are very expensive. If you plan on doing eBay full time, the camera will pay for itself incredibly fast. I suggest that the Buyer pays for shipping. You want to make sure you quote their shipping price correctly. The post office has a list of prices according to weight. It is a good idea to get a list for your records. We also recommend calling the number on the priority boxes, they will send you most of what you need for FREE!!!! TAPE, PREPRINTED ADDRESS LABELS, BOXES etc! The profit margin will decrease if you find yourself paying for these items here and there. You will also want to ship all of your items out at least 2 or 3 times per week. Buyers want their purchases fast so try to avoid negative feedback by shipping out the merchandise yourself, or having it drop–shipped as quickly as possible. 4. LISTING: I don't recommend

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using a career sales force versus an independent sales force? A career sales force that the company hires, trains, supervises, and compensates likely will be more loyal than an independent sales force. As the case notes, these career salespeople sell only JPF policies. They also learn and contribute to establishing and maintaining the organization's "culture." They learn how things work at the company and can do a better job of negotiating the bureaucratic structure of a large organization. On the other hand, an independent salesperson by definition represents a variety of companies. He/she is not necessarily loyal to any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They are willing to accept more fixed cost to do so. Again, it is important to understand the trade–offs made in making compensation decisions and to see how those decisions fit with the rest of the strategy. 3. What problems do you see with JPF's sales force strategy and structure decisions? With respect to the career and independent agents, there really is no specific structure as discussed in the case. Any agent who is licensed by JPF can sell a policy to anyone, anywhere as long as the company approves the application. The field sales force is neither territorial, product, or customer focused, although individual agents could make such decisions for their own work. For the SVPs, who are the subject of the case, there is a territorial structure (each SVP has an assigned multi–state area) and a customer structure (SVPs work only with IMOs, not with individual agents). Thus, considering the IMOs to be "customers," we have a complex structure as described in the case. The first problem develops when JPF considers the issue of sales force size. Bob Powell notes in the case that he doesn't believe that a SVP can develop effective relationships with more than 30 IMOs. This suggests a workload approach to growing the sales force. However, the decision to compensate

What you say to yourself has such a huge effect on how your performance of sales will turn out. Your belief system will either determine a positive attitude about your success or a negative attitude. What you say and think about your sales success is very powerful and can have an affect on your confidence as a whole. Your thoughts can and will set you up for failure if you let them. Positive thinking has always been the way I think and I will continue to do that in all that I do. I plan to remain positive even when sales or life gets hard. Everything will get better when you are positive. Sales is important no matter what your career becomes. Everything you do, you sell. Our mind is very powerful and will only break us down because we are human and are harsh on ourselves. If you expect to sell whatever it is we are selling, than your first principle is to be optimistic rather than pessimistic. To stay on the positive track of sales you must overcome the advisory and the negative thoughts he brings to mind. So lets say sales does become your job, and you aren 't doing so well because you just started off. Does this mean you start believing your negative thoughts and give up ? No you don 't. This is normal to think you are lacking the skill of a talented salesman but talent takes time. Here is an example of a pessimistic thought process every salesman goes through. It 's called the ABCD model. "A" stands for adversity. Your thoughts are telling you you suck and can 't sell anything. "B" stands for belief. However, the advantage is that it costs virtually nothing to start and there are no ongoing charges if, initially, you don 't sell very much. Selling 'a lot ' is for professional sellers who expect to sell more than 35 items a month. You pay a 28.75 monthly fixed fee and a referral fee. You can sell in all the Amazon product categories. It isn 't always viable to list low price, low volume products as a 'sell a little ' seller. To do that you need to be a 'sell a lot ' seller! However, I 'd recommend you take the 'selling a little ' route to start out with. You can always upgrade later. Choose your option, then fill in the online form. Pro Merchant Sellers Once you are selling 'a lot ' you will probably also want to become what Amazon call a Pro Merchant Seller. Pro Merchants have access to volume selling and bulk listing tools. There is a web interface that allows you to more easily manage your product descriptions, inventory and orders. You will also be able to export and import information to and from your account. Reflection Of Reading : My Experience In The 21st Century I am a new, better reader; In school I have always struggle in English whether it was reading or finding the right thing to say and always having the fear that it would keep repeating. When I came into this english 10 class I learned certain skill I have never been taught before that helped me grow as a student and a reader. These strategies that I was taught in this class gave me a new way at viewing books, short stories or movies. Recently in class we read the book The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier by these skill I have been taught in class influenced the way I experienced the book The Chocolate War. When I was reading the book The Chocolate War I was able to understand certain keys and symbols that I would not have known or understood if I was not taught the right way, For example in the book from chapter 8 when Guber was given an assignment two loosen all the screws from chairs, desk and boards so everything would fall apart. When Guber arrived in this classroom to do his assignment there were other kids there but he didn't know who they were and they helped him. In this part of the book this shows my growth in english throughout this year because when these kids came in they weren't like guber they had masks on and smelled like pizza. When these people are wearing masks it shows that they are anonymous/anonymity and smells like pizza to show that it is like a party to them. The second example is when Jerry is looking at himself in the mirror this is important because in the book his dad is shown as living in a very dull life and when Jerry looks at himself in the mirror he sees his father face reflected in his own features and this is effecting him because he wants to live a life with excitement, risks and changes. A third example is when Jerry changes his popularity at the beginning of the book he was seen as a freshman trying out for the football team and someone who didn't want to sell chocolate. At first when Jerry decided to not sell chocolate people thought it was stupid for him not to sell but when he began to get a reaction from Brother Leon and stood up for himself he became very popular for not selling chocolates. I read this book because of all of the debate on whether it was right for this person to reject to do an annual school chocolate sale for the school. The Chocolate War starts with out with Archie needing to recruit people for selling all of the chocolates. The church school sells chocolates every single year and Brother Leon ordered twice as many chocolates as he did last year. This introduces the main characters Archie who is mostly in charge, Jerry who doesn't want to sell anything, and Brother Eugene and Brother Leon who is in charge of the entire project. Archie wants to get Jerry in on selling the chocolates and Goober says no because his mother had just passed away. Then the book moves to Jerry who just wants to be normal like other people. He ends up accidentally staring at a guy at the bus stop and the guy tell him that he is stuck in a boring routine. After this is goes back to Archie who is talking to Brother Leon. Archie is surprised after Brother Leon tells him that he ordered twenty thousand chocolate boxes because they were on sale and that they school is usually really good at selling the chocolates. After Archie does the math he realizes it will be really difficult and each student needs to sell 50 boxes each.
