India And Holland
 Land under flower cultivation :-
Approximately Same
 Contribution in Worlds Flower Export :-
Holland >70%
INDIA <1 %
REASON ?
Just because of advanced technology of Polyhouse in Holland.
Source: World Trade Organisation, 2016.
WHY Choose Polyhouse ?
In open field conditions,
there is no control over
the environmental
factors like temperature,
light and relative
humidity.
Growing ornamental
crops in protected
environment (Polyhouse)
ensures the best
microclimate around the
plant so that the plant
can exhibit its full
potential.
WHY Choose Polyhouse ?
What is Polyhouse ?
A Polyhouse is a specially constructed closed or
partially closed space structure like a building for
growing plants under controlled conditions.
1. Protection from excess rainfall, wind current, scorching sunlight and
extreme cold conditions
2. Extend the season and can provide off-season production capabilities
In Ladakh , greenhouses are being built for extending the growing season
of vegetables from 3 to 8 months.
3. Minimum space Maximum production
4. Humidity is maintained
5. Minimum labor requirement
6. Diseases and pests can be controlled easily
7. Water can be used economically.
8. Protection from birds, animals and human activities
9. Quality of product is best
Polyhouse is one of the types of Greenhouse in which
polyethylene is used as main material for construction.
TYPES OF POLYHOUSES
 Polyhouse are classified in to three types on this basis of their
different shape and sizes
→ The soil should have pH of 5.5-6.5 and EC of 0.5-0.7 Mmhs.
→ The selection Site should be free from pollution.
→ Water should be available regularly.
→ Good supply of electricity (Three phase ) should be regular
→ A ground slope for drainage is an important factor to divert surface
water way from the Polyhouse
→ Greenhouses should be located away from the buildings and trees
to avoid obstruction to sunlight
→ Facility of good road transport to near markets.
→ Some space should be there nearby for further extension
→ Expertise and labours should be available when required.
 Polyhouse should be oriented in North - South
direction only, to avoid continuous shading of
certain-portions of the Polyhouse by its structural
members.

  • 2. India And Holland  Land under flower cultivation :- Approximately Same  Contribution in Worlds Flower Export :- Holland >70% INDIA <1 % REASON ? Just because of advanced technology of Polyhouse in Holland. Source: World Trade Organisation, 2016.
  • 4. In open field conditions, there is no control over the environmental factors like temperature, light and relative humidity. Growing ornamental crops in protected environment (Polyhouse) ensures the best microclimate around the plant so that the plant can exhibit its full potential. WHY Choose Polyhouse ?
  • 5.
  • 6. What is Polyhouse ? A Polyhouse is a specially constructed closed or partially closed space structure like a building for growing plants under controlled conditions.
  • 7. 1. Protection from excess rainfall, wind current, scorching sunlight and extreme cold conditions 2. Extend the season and can provide off-season production capabilities In Ladakh , greenhouses are being built for extending the growing season of vegetables from 3 to 8 months. 3. Minimum space Maximum production 4. Humidity is maintained 5. Minimum labor requirement 6. Diseases and pests can be controlled easily 7. Water can be used economically. 8. Protection from birds, animals and human activities 9. Quality of product is best
  • 8. Polyhouse is one of the types of Greenhouse in which polyethylene is used as main material for construction.
  • 9. TYPES OF POLYHOUSES  Polyhouse are classified in to three types on this basis of their different shape and sizes

  • 14. → The soil should have pH of 5.5-6.5 and EC of 0.5-0.7 Mmhs. → The selection Site should be free from pollution. → Water should be available regularly. → Good supply of electricity (Three phase ) should be regular → A ground slope for drainage is an important factor to divert surface water way from the Polyhouse → Greenhouses should be located away from the buildings and trees to avoid obstruction to sunlight → Facility of good road transport to near markets. → Some space should be there nearby for further extension → Expertise and labours should be available when required.
  • 15.  Polyhouse should be oriented in North - South direction only, to avoid continuous shading of certain-portions of the Polyhouse by its structural members.
