Case Study Caring For Baby
1. In what ways was caring for Baby like caring for a real infant?
Taking care of Baby is similar to taking care of a real infant because it had the same needs (burping,
feeding, and changing). It was also like a real baby because it needed constant care, you could not
do much because the possibility that it could start crying was always there.
2. In what ways was caring for Baby not like caring for an infant?
Taking care of Baby was not like taking care of a real child because it took a long deal of time to do
simple tasks that would not take as long with a real infant. An example of this would be burping.
While preforming this task on Baby it would sometimes take 10–15 minutes. Taking care of Baby
was also different because when taking care ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was quite worried about the neck support aspect, but when the simulation began I realized that it
was actually quite easy and all I had to do is make sure I had a firm grip of the neck and that is was
at the correct position.
4. In what ways was caring for baby harder than you expected?
I felt that it was the hardest to wake up and care for Baby in the middle of the night. It was also hard
to do anything productive when having to take care of the baby. You could not do anything without
either having to take the Baby with you or worrying that if it will cry when you leave it.
5. How has the experience with Baby affected your plans for life?
This experience with Baby has made me realize that with my current lifestyle and age there would
be no way that I could raise a baby. With working two jobs, going to school and doing sports, I
already don't have tie for myself, never mind adding a baby to that equation. I would never think
about having a child at this age or any time soon into the future. While having Baby, I had to wake
up several times during the night and then go to work the next morning. It was hard and I was left
exhausted. Taking care of Baby at work was a challenge, I wasn't able to do much work without

I Am Sorry About My Brother 's Death
I am so sorry for your loss and my sincerest condolences to you and your family. Your brother was a
wonderful person and I remember all of the times that your brother, you, and I shared. I fondly
remember the times that we would race each other to your living room to pick a sofa to watch our
favorite TV show at 4:00 pm after we all came back from school. I even remember the time that I
scraped my knee while trying to learn how to ride a bike around the neighborhood and your brother
and you raced back home to find gauze and bandages to help me heal and get better. We all had
some amazing times together growing up, back in our school days, and I hope you know that I miss
your brother dearly and understand your pain and wish you nothing but the absolute best in life. I
know that we haven't spoken about your brother's passing since the funeral but, I would like you to
know that your brother's death is not your fault and that you did everything possible to help him.
Your brother's unexpected passing was out of your realm of control and you could not have
predicted, beforehand, that he would choke on a sandwich that day. Even though I know that this
will not bring your brother back, I hope that you can find some peace of mind and contentment in
knowing that your brother's death was accidental and that you are not responsible for his passing; it
could have happened to anyone and it was out of your hands. Most of all, I hope that everything is
going well for you now and that you are

Short Term Advantages And Disadvantages
If you are a student, would you rather have a long term assignment or homework, tests, and quizzes?
Students in the current generation dislike having homework, taking tests, and taking quizzes. By
having a long term assignment it will reduce the stress in students, allow them to focus on one
objective instead of multiple objectives, and it will allow the students to spend more time doing
other activities. The grading system would be more effective than a traditional grading system. Also,
some students will benefit from the long term assignment because tests and quizzes might be one of
their weaknesses. These assignments will allow the students to express everything they have learned
throughout the time period. First, it would reduce the stress in the lives of many students. They will
not have to worry about trying to finish their homework for the next day, or worry about an
upcoming test or quiz the next day at school. Long term assignments would lift a weight off of the
students shoulders. They would be more relaxed, and would be able to focus more during school.
The teachers would be able to teach more, and students would comprehend more of what they are
saying. Stress occurs in the lives of so many students throughout their school career, and it is a
disadvantage to them. In addition, a different grading system would allow students to focus on one
objective instead of multiple objectives. The students will be able to put more time and dedication

Study Skills Analysis
Study Skills After taking the quiz I received a score of a 38. I would agree with this score because I
try to do my best at choosing an environment that will best suit me, yet there are still places I could
improve in my study habits. When I am studying or doing homework, I either try to find a place in
my home that does not have too much noise, or I will go to Starbucks. While I am doing my work I
do not stay on one single subject for too long, in order to try and keep myself from getting frustrated
or worked up. Doing this also helps me get more work completed, so I have time for sports and
other activities. When being a student– athlete, there is a large amount that can stack up ontop of
eachother and I have to learn how to manage everything. Time management plays a big role in the
life of a student– athlete. To make sure I get everything done and I study the best way for myself, I
have to manage how much time I spend on everything, stick to a routine, be engaged and proactive.
In all, there are multiple ways that I can improve my study skills as a student– athlete.

Risky Behaviour In Chris Mccaandless
Risky Behaviour There was nothing more daring than being alone in a barren wasteland, without a
cellphone, money, and even extra food supplies for the road. Chris McCandless, an extreme risk
taker, believes that risk taking is necessary to outgrow the "shell" everyone is entrapped within
because living on the edge allows characteristics to be built. Jon Krakauer's Into the Wild is a novel
that reveals the adventure, journey, and risk taking of Chris McCandless, who is similar to Guy
Montag, a protagonist in Fahrenheit 451, and Odysseus, also a protagonist in The Odyssey, who all
feature a comparable attribute; that of which is risk taking. At the hand of these characters
possessing courageous features believing that "it is the experiences, the great triumphant joy of
living to the fullest extent in which real meaning is found," arguably portraying that risk taking is
what allows courageous features to become expressed freely (Krakauer, Into the Wild). Jon
Krakauer's Into the Wild portrays Chris McCandless through his stubborn, yet intellectual drive to
stray away from society, acting as an "oddball" in many people's eyes in order to make the statement
of the true meaning of life just as Fahrenheit 451 also is portrayed through Montag, a rebel acting
against society. In a sense, Chris McCandless wants to prove that "the joy of life comes from our
encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly
changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun" and through this, Chris McCandless
takes on a journey for 144 days (Krakauer, Into the Wild). By endeavouring a 144 day journey
before his demise, McCandless wishes to explain that taking risk allows exhilarating emotions to be
felt, something in which is not acquired when in the confinements of self comfort. However, Chris
McCandless understand and supports as to why young people take risks, that is because young
people choose not to be influenced on the stigma that they will get old and not be able to have fun
perse, in which the stigma is generated knowing "many people live within unhappy circumstances
and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of

Performance Enhancing Drug Abuse
Performance enhancing drug abuse is a growing problem in adolescents and athletes. According to
the Partnership for Drug – Free Kids, more than five percent of teens use performance enhancing
drugs, or steroids increase muscle. Performance enhancing drug abuse creates addiction, the mental
tension and pressure that coaches and peers bring to inferior athletes this draws teens and athletes to
engage in these products, further encouraging teens to partake in the use of performance enhancing
drugs, with long–term and short–term use leading to insufferable effects, like kidney failure,
depression and stunted growth. What are performance enhancing drugs? Numerous people use the
words steroids or performance enhancing drugs, nevertheless there remains a plethora of steroids,
anabolic steroids and performance enhancing drugs. The most commonly used of these steroids are
called: Fluxoythestone, methylesosterone, nandnolone, just to name a few. Anabolic steroids contain
human growth hormones, erythropoietin, insulin, and many other substances. Using steroids or
performance enhancing drugs, also known as doping; is a harmful activity for athletes to do. Doping
is a method, or means, to use an illegal substance to give him or her, an unfair advantage against
their competitors. Doping has been a huge epidemic since as early as the ancient Olympics held in

Nootropics Research Paper
Nootropics are the smart drugs that we all, especially in school should take if it's safe as it is
advertised and the positive attention that the products received. A little background of the drugs, it is
intended to help people improve better in terms of performance enhancer, maximize productivity,
and achieve full potential. Basically, it helps the brain to work better. So, why not all students take
the drugs? In fact, Szalavitz (2009) reported that about 7% of the university students in the United
States have been taking nonmedical stimulant drugs. Most of these stimulant drugs are known to
make a person more alert, or called the smart drugs. In reality, when we all have our conscious
senses, there are always the side effects associated with any drugs or think carefully about what
could happen in the long run in drugs use. Nootropics are stimulant drugs because, like all stimulant
drugs, it can be addictive. Once addicted to the drugs it is more harmful because a person is
dependent on the drugs instead of having the drug to help him or her. Users have been reporting of

The Involvement Of Outside Sources Or Ethical Arrangements
The involvement of outside sources or ethical arrangements has been apart of medical practices for
as long as they have been around. As the times have progressed, more and more people have meshed
together the need for moral obligations within the practice of medicine. From everything from
patients who get priority, to how much to charge for a service or drug, ethics have always been
applied. The latter of the two I just mentioned is where I will focus on the different ethical
viewpoints of that subject matter. The writings of John Locke would have a specific stance on the
freedoms of pricing a service or drug. His backing of natural rights would entail a view in which
there is no reason to limit how a medical service or drug is priced. ... Show more content on

That man along with many other people who cannot afford the drug end up dying as a result of
having access cut off. Let's say that legally there are no laws restricting what happened, so it goes on
for as long as the new company wants to keep the prices high. Therefore, ethical intervention and
suggestions are only applicable in this situation.
At a glance, it seems as if natural rights would take the side of the company who pushed the prices
up so that people could not afford them. It is essentially a self interested concept of ethics that
ultimately sides with the individual as long as they are not infringing on another's three main rights.
Those rooting rights are life, liberty, and property that span the ethical reasoning within the
conceptual thinking of John Locke. In essence, no one can infringe upon those rights unless they
have somehow formed a social contract with one another, like a government or community. Only in
those instances where a social contract has been formed can another being take away the natural
rights of another. In this situation, we will say that within the bounds of the contract, that there was
no law against what the company decided to do. Taking as the company is not directly acting against
the life, liberty, or property of another individual, they are morally in the right from that standpoint.
Even though people will die as a

Strength Of Hostage Negotiation

Being able to stay calm in stressful situation is a great quality to have, especially in hostage
negotiations where lives are at stake. One way I could improve this quality is by taking slower
breaths. In stressful situation breathing slow and calmly is key to staying calm. The faster your
respiration is the more anxiety you feel and in very stressful situations that anxiety can turn into
panic. By taking slower breaths you helps negate the flight or fight effect and helps to keep us calm.

Why Do Athletes Use Anabolic Steroids?
Anabolic Steroids As he waited in the waiting room to hear his test results, he thought about all
those times he abused his body just to be captain of his college football team. Due to taking anabolic
steroids, he now may have kidney failure just because he wanted to impress everyone. Anabolic
steroids should not be used by athletes because they affect the brain, have long and short term
effects, and they are addictive. One of the best reasons not to do anabolic steroids is because they
affect the brain, which controls a person's entire body. As stated in dopinglinkki.fi, anabolic steroids
cause long–standing changes in the brain. They are found to affect the central nervous system and
affect the brain where it is closely linked to centres that regulate mood, sexuality and aggression.
Anabolic steroids may cause a person to become psychotic and as an athlete, their head needs to be

Unwritten Code Of Ethics In Sports Research Paper
The use of performance–enhancing drugs goes against an unwritten code of ethics for sports because
if the athletes are caught taking the enhancers they can harm not only themselves but the team too,
they give the person taking the enhancers an extra edge that nobody else has and it can damage the
person that is taking the enhancer's body. The people that would be the most interested in this paper
are high school, college, and professional coaches, along with all the players and their families.

Pulmonary Embolism: A Case Study
Pulmonary Embolism
Pulmonary embolism is described to be the "sudden blockage of a major blood vessel artery in the
lung" (WebMD, 2014) which can usually be caused by a blood clot. The most common factor of
pulmonary embolism is blood clots breaking loose from the leg and traveling to the lungs.
Unfortunately, having pulmonary embolism can be fatal due to a large clot stopping blood flow
going into the lung.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention statistics, "the precise number of
people affected by pulmonary embolism is unknown." There is a shocking rate of 900,000 people
who can be affected by a pulmonary embolism, making it 1 to 2 per 1,000 people each year in the
United States alone. The overall estimate suggests that 60,000–100,000 Americans die of pulmonary
embolism, 10 to 30% within one month of diagnosis. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
2015)

Alzheimer's Disease In Children
Introduction The day a child turns eighteen and graduates from high school is usually a happy day
for a family. The even better day is when a parent drops their child off for college letting them learn
how to be an independent adult. This stage of life is where parents can consider themselves an
"empty–nester", since the children are technically gone and it is just the spouses left at home. Sadly,
things do not always happen this way. Families sometimes are not able to launch their children they

Why Should Drugs Be Banned In Sports
Currently, many athletes have been accused of drugs and have been caught with drugs, in fact the
number of athletes that do it will continue to grow if someone doesn't do anything about it. Athletes
may think that they get benefits from taking drugs, but they really are hurting themselves in the
long–run. Although they may get a benefit for a little amount of time, but overall athletes that take
drugs get the opposite of a benefit. Drug abuse in sports has been around for a very long time, it
started way back before Christ, from 776–393 BC the ancient greeks used performance enhancing
drugs and it has continued since. I think that drugs should be banned in sports because it provides
issues for the person and the sport itself, issues such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My first reason is, they affect the respect of the game and its rules. It is a rule that players are not
allowed to use drugs or there will be a consequence and athletes still continue to disrespect the rules
and use drugs anyway. Secondly, it changes the fairness of the game. Doping and performance
enhancing drugs conflict with the natural spirit of the game, consequently making the spirit of the
game less valuable due to bending the player's natural ability to play the sport. Many people say that
the use of drugs does not define the spirit of the game, admittedly it doesn't, it just doesn't make the
spirit as valuable. There is a quote that states, "addiction is a family disease... one person may use,
but the whole family suffers." This quote is stating that in sports if one person uses drugs, it will
affect everyone. Finally, using drugs such as steroids and doping changes the recognition of the
athlete's natural talent. When players use drugs to make them better not all of the talent is real,
therefore it is now unnatural talent due to the use of drugs. Athletes may be better, although that is
simply because they are cheaters and now unnatural. Without a doubt, there are so many reasons that
sports should get rid of drugs.
As I have shown throughout, there are multiple negative effects of using drugs and why we should
ban them for good. As a result, drug use provides health issues, unfairness, lack of spirit, and lack of
natural ability, these are only some of the problems that drug use causes. Clearly, drug use has bad
effects and we should eliminate the from sports as soon as

Strategic Leader
Ways to Be a Strategic Leader Many of the difficulties confronted by organizations stem from the
refusal of its leaders to address issues in a timely basis. If instead of procrastinating, these leaders
developed strategies for the future of the organization, many obstacles and challenges could be
avoided, yet in my over thirty years of working closely with organizations and their leaders, I have
found very few leaders who are strategic thinkers. Strategic leadership involves numerous activities,
but begins with a leader who realizes the need to be proactive instead of reactive. 1. Strategic
leaders are always vision directed, goal oriented, and self confident. They see their organization both
as it is, as well as how they feel it should ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those who wish to become strategic leaders must first recognize that leadership is not, nor should
never be about someone wishing to be popular. The reality is that what may presently appear to be
popular may be ruinous in the long term, and organizations that do not continuously evolve
generally encounter numerous challenges and obstacles. Times change, societies change, and
members needs change, and thus if an organization wishes to be relevant and maintain membership,
revenues and keep their missions vital, it must be willing and able to adapt and evolve. Doing this
requires leadership who strategically consider the future, and where their emphasis and focus must
be. Strategic leaders also consider ramifications of either taking actions which may be potentially
unpopular or even in error versus the impact that taking no action will take. Strategic leaders
understand that even avoiding taking action is, in and of itself, taking an action, and that everything
either has or potentially may have a ramification. 3. Strategy must be directed towards a vision.
There must steps decided along the way, with specific responsibilities and goals. True strategy
always has a review process built into the procedure, as well. Strategic thinking is true leadership,
because it involves comprehensive communication and motivational aspects. There can be no
strategic leadership without full planning, goals, recognition of need, commitment, and inner
strength. The greatest leaders I have ever

Benefits Of Effective Management, Planning And Application...
1. Introduction
This guide provides information for nominated managers in the effective management, discussion
and planning of staff member's planned leave.
2. Benefits
The benefits of the effective management, planning and application of leave include:
Staff need to take periods of leave or use leave regularly for their wellbeing, work–life balance and
connection with family and friends;
Maintaining staff health and wellbeing, which is critical to a productive working and learning
environment. Not taking leave may expose staff to an increased risk of burnout and stress–related
illnesses, potentially increasing use of sick leave;
Taking leave regularly may provide other staff with an opportunity to act in a position of higher
duties or with different responsibilities, thereby increasing skills and enabling career development
opportunities;
Avoiding the possibility of staff who have accrued large amounts of leave taking a large block of
leave to reduce their leave balance. This may have a negative impact on provision of services
without adequate planning for coverage; and
Organisational leave liabilities need to be managed at sustainable levels so as not to impact on funds
in reserve required for other organisational requirements.
3. Responsibilities
Staff members and supervisors both have responsibilities to manage leave. Conversations about the
planning and taking of leave are encouraged throughout the year, particularly at the time of the
annual planning

However, if one were to hit the animal, but not kill it immediately, long range rifles would make it
more difficult to find the animal because the hunter is so far away. Also, if their prey was still able to
run it would be even harder to track it due to the long distance the hunter has to travel while the
animal is running away from them. Kevin Helliker also states about long range hunting "But as if
Big–Game hunting weren't controversial enough, many of the sport's own practitioners disapprove
of long range hunting calling it a violation of a tradition known as fair chase"(Helliker 1). In this
quote Hilliker explains the unethical side to long range hunting and how it is ruining the hunting
tradition of fair chase. Some of the unethical cons of hunting with long range rifles are that they
could give some hunters an unfair advantage. In addition to the unfair advantage is the enormous
price of a rifle that is capable of making long range shots; some rifles have a range of over a
thousand yards. According to Jeff Barnard, "...some of [long range hunting]pushes the envelope of
people 's idea of the hunting ethic, and some states are outlawing high–tech innovations that game
managers feel give hunters an undue advantage"(Barnard 1, brackets mine). Barnard

Benefit Of Nap Research Paper
In society today people are seen to have trouble staying alert and awake throughoutn there day.
Many poeple are struggling to maintain a decent amount of sleep at night dur to many distractions
which could result in being u pfor long period of time. After reading an article on the Benefits of a
nap an the down fall as well I've decided to state my opinion as well. In the begining it's stated that
NASA has done some studies on people to see what can result in better productivity through one
persons day if they take a nape.(NASA discovered trhat a 45 minute nap had made astronautd and
pilots 100% more alert and in fact improved there performance skills by an astonishing 34%.
Studies had been taken jsut a little further in 2008 to find a way to beat the typical afternoon
sleepiness, by using the nap method, caffeine or just getting more sleep at night. Towards the end of
the the studies it had also been concluded that taking a nap was the best remedy to beat the urge to
sleep in the afternoon and to become alert and focused for the taske ahead of you. ... Show more

Spanking And Discipline
Many people, ages forty or older, grew up in a household where parents disciplined. The two types
of discipline was in the form of spanking or Time out. Spanking or Timeout tend to be a structured
way of letting a child know that he/she has done something wrong. Many parents used these forms
of punishment as a deterrent hoping the child would not make the same mistake twice but instead
succeed. The question of what is the best way to discipline depends on what a parent experienced as
a child. Different disciplinary can have a huge impact on how successful a child is in the future.
Spanking can make a child become more open to violent and depression behavioral, leading to them
failing in the future. Jim Sims–Giles author of the "Child, maternal, and family characteristics
associated with spanking" stated that spanking can have a long term and short term side effect. "
Having been spanked as a child and/or adolescent is related to later psychological problems
including an increased chance of being depressed and thinking about suicide (Straus, in press),
becoming violent and delinquent (Straus, 1991), and experiencing alienation and lower economic
achievement." Physical discipline can have an emotional effect on a child opening them up to
become depress or turn to violence for relief. Spanking also can have a long term effect on a child's
memory. The article "Child, maternal, and family characteristics associated with spanking" stat that
many adults can remember a time they

overdose include cramped muscles, seizures, insomnia, and even death.

Taking Away From The Mozart Effect
This chapter begins but stating exactly what it is going to be talking about which is telling about
music, its importance through theories and then giving evidence. I think what it doesn't tell you is
the valuable knowledge that you will be taking away from the words you read. I know I am not the
only one in this but the main thing that I remember taking away from the Mozart Effect is that when
you have your child listen to Mozart in utero then they would be smarter than if they had not
listened to Mozart. I think it is very interesting that this turned out to be false. The Mozart Effect
only really proved ten minutes of extra skills and that there was no proof of any long–term effects. It
turns out that the only real way to cause a long–term

Risk Taking In Australia Essay
Risk taking behaviour involving alcohol is a growing issue within our society so young people need
to be aware of the long and short terms risks involved, how alcohol is abused and misuse; and its
effects on themselves, their family and community.
The use of alcohol is widely accepted as most Australians have tried alcohol at some time in their
lives. People use alcohol for a broad range of reasons and in different social and cultural situations.
They may drink for sociability, cultural participation, or as a result of peer influence. They may also
drink for pleasure, relaxation, mood alteration, intoxication, addiction or to 'drown their sorrows'.
Alcohol is consumed in various different settings, such as at pubs, clubs, restaurants, parties and at
home. People may be at greater risk of alcohol misuse if they are a young adult experiencing ...

known as alcohol abuse – a dangerous or unhealthy drinking pattern. While under the influence of
alcohol, individuals may make themselves vulnerable to various risk taking behaviours. These
include short term and long term risks involving physical and mental health; accidents and injuries;
and employment and finances. More specific examples of short terms risks are blackouts, vomiting,
slurred speech, blurred vision, accidents while driving, injuries such as falls, as wells as violent and

Why The Steroids Should Be Banned
Michael Bisping once made a statement, "If you're taking performance–enhancing drugs and you get
caught, in my mind, you should be banned for life." He is saying that performance–enhancing drugs
(PEDs) are critically awful because if people are using PEDs their not using their ability to do
things. PEDs are horrible for the body with long term and short term effects, and it is also unfair to
the other teams in any sports. I strongly believe that drugs should remain banned from sports. First
of all, there are some long effects to taking drugs. While using drugs for a long time the body would
want more, so the more you take PEDs it increases the already serious health conditions. Since it
could be hard to get off of steroids the mind would

Why Do We Need A Study?
Many students have pulled an all–nighter, crammed last minute, and drank several cups of coffee in
order to make up for all of the procrastination they have done. Every night when they could study
their minds wander off to other things and come up with excuses not to study. I'm one of them and
every time I hear or think the word "study" I cringe. I don't think I am the only one. Truth is
studying does not have to be such a daunting task. No one needs to pull an all–nighter or cram all of
the information in one night. Ever heard of the expression, "it's not about quantity, but quality?"
Same goes for studying. It's not about how long you study or how often. You can study for five
hours and get nothing out of it if you just sit there and read a textbook. Studying requires well–
developed skills in order for it to be effective. In order for students to be able to study effectively
they need to properly prepare to study, have good note taking skills, and develop a technique in
order to retain all of the information. The first step in order to be able to have a good study session is
to be properly prepared to study. You should have all of the materials that you need ready to go
before you start, "Have all of your study material in front of you: lecture notes, course textbooks,
study guides and any other relevant material," this will prevent you from getting up and wandering
off. This could cause you to lose focus (Study Tips & Study Skills 1). Having all of the material in

Pressure To Use Steroids Essay examples
We all have seen a bodybuilders physic, whether it was in a magazine, the media, or in the gym. As
we despise their freakish look we still wish that we had a body like them. But the reason we don't
look like that is because we know that the long term effects of steroids in will damage our bodies.
Steroids have been a common use throughout human history since 1889. The fact that it's illegal
doesn't seem to bother many users. Generations today are more reliant on this drug for various
reasons, without realizing the consequences and long term effects that can result. Steroids are a way
of cheating to reach your goals. Steroids are addictive, and over a short period of time they destroy

Steroids can be taken in numerous ways, they can be taken by injection, rubbing on the skin, or just
taking a small pill form. The results of taking steroids can be quite dangerous or worse fatal.
All anabolic steroid use that is not regulated properly nor properly prescribed by a licensed
physician is often known as abusing steroids. Steroids contain very powerful hormones that can be
extremely dangerous. They can cause numerous amounts of health problems, and some which could
have long term ramifications.
Today it is very common to over use steroids. Body building is a prime example of steroid abuse.
All of the following are effects from abusing steroids. Firstly the common side effect is acne.
Steroid acne is a skin condition that follows the use of hormones. For the most part acne usually
occurs on the chest, but, it can also occur on the bum, neck, arms, and even on the back. Many
adults and teens who take moderate or high doses of steroids way over a seven week period become
more pronged to catching steroid acne. The average acne that we are use to is nothing like steroid
acne. The acne resulted by abusing steroids often occur as fairly large and red bumps, that cause
extreme itchiness, and are often pustular.
The second most common effect is problems in the organs. Steroids conflict with just about every
organ in our body, but the most common organs are problems with the liver and heart. Steroids can
be very dangerous to the liver especially when taken in a

On the morning of April 4, a man driving an SUV lost consciousness and crashed into a Jersey City
charter school. The man appears to have had a seizure before losing consciousness. Because staying
awake while driving is so essential for your safety as well as the safety of those around you, taking
the proper steps to always be an alert driver is important. Be sure to get enough sleep before driving
a long distance. Never drive when you are feeling drowsy. If you find yourself starting to fall asleep,

out of your vehicle and walking around for a few minutes might be enough to wake you up enough

Why Do People Use Anabolic Steroids
Steroids often referred to as roids, or juice are the same as, or similar to hormones in the body. The
body makes steroids naturally to support such functions as fighting stress and promoting growth and
development. But some people use steroid pills, creams, gels, or injections because they think
steroids will improve their sports performance or the way they look. Anabolic steroids are
commonly used among teenage athletes to bulk up. Unfortunately, the improper use of steroids
(even at a young age) causes stunted growth, kidney impairment or failure, liver damage, and an
increased risk of heart attack or stroke. Also, AAs (Anabolic–androgenic steroid) use has seen a
slight increase in the past few years. Furthermore, steroids are addicting ... Show more content on

It is impossible for researchers to design studies that would accurately test the effects of large doses
of steroids on athletes, because giving participants such high doses would be unethical"
(performance–enhancing drugs: know the risks, pg. 2). This further supports that athletes misuse
steroids, not only because they are illegal and prohibited, but because they are taking doses higher
than prescribed. By taking higher doses there is no way to really know the negative effects that may
come with it, because very high doses of steroids has not been very well studied. In addition, the
Mayo Clinic states, "Taking anabolic–androgenic steroids to enhance athletic performance, besides
being prohibited by most sports organizations, it's illegal. In the past 70 years, more effective law
enforcement in the United States has pushed much of the illegal steroid industry into the black
market. This poses additional health risks because the drugs are either made in another countries and
smuggled into the U.S. or they are made in clandestine labs in the U.S." (performance–enhancing
drugs: know the risks, pg. 3). The reader can see from the information above that steroids are illegal
and prohibited for the use of athletes. It also helps the reader see just how dangerous these drugs are
because law enforcement has pushed the steroid industry into the black market where they do not
have to meet government

My Life Of The Dixie Chicks
On August 17, 2016, as I sat in row GG seat 4, I realized that my childhood had come to a close.
Just seven days shy of starting a new chapter in my life, college, I was standing in Bridgestone
Arena in the presence of the Dixie Chicks. Since I was a little girl, I have been listening to their
music through out every part of my life. I can remember as a three year old, blonde headed little girl,
my daddy would put one of their CDs in the radio and dance around the living room with me
standing on his feet. On Sunday afternoons, when I was around the age of six, my Mi–mi, Uncle
David, and I would pile into their jeep and go for a ride down some back roads with their music
playing in the background. Or as a thirteen year old girl, knowing every single word to "Travelin '
Solider." Now as an eighteen year old, as I listened to the song being played, I thought to myself,
"This is it. I am about to enter a brand new chapter in my life."
Rewind to six months earlier, it was Valentine 's Day and my parents were getting ready to give my
sister and I our gifts. We were handed a small, narrow wrapped box that contained tickets to the
DCX MMXVI World Tour. My parents had bought tickets for them, my sister, and I. This tour was
said to be the final tour that the Dixie Chicks would perform and we were going to the concert in
Nashville. Since I had a love for the group from birth, I was ecstatic! It was just a waiting game after
we received the tickets because the concert was six months

Steroids Should Be Banned Research Paper
Imagine a day when sports are played by a bunch of superhumans that cheat their way to the top,
and don't work hard. If steroids and other supplements keep getting used like they are; eventually
the games will be meaningless. The players will all be like superhumans. Many people are taking
steroids and supplements to become better than others and get an advantage. Jimmy's basketball
team was taking steroids to not have to work hard and still get an advantage, but then other teams
started doing it too. This evened the playing field, so they took more than was healthy, and so did
the other teams. This made them unhealthy and they did not even get an advantage. PEDs and other
performance enhancing supplements should be banned in all sports, ... Show more content on

First, The New York Times said that the people who take steroids are better than the ones who work
hard and follow the rules (Guttenfelder). Even if you work hard you probably won't be as good as
those who take steroids, making people not have to work hard to be good at sports. You can be good
at something just by taking a pill or a shot, which is a reason why steroids should be banned.
Second, " the athletes who use them are breaking the rules and getting an unfair advantage over
others"(Douglas). This means that athletes that take steroids are getting better than athletes that
don't. Kids do not have to work in order get better in sports, making steroids just like cheating,
making the game meaningless. Lastly, "from sleeping in an altitude chamber to consuming sport
drinks to taking anti–inflammatories, improve athletic performance, and are not only allowed, but
encouraged. (Katz).Pfeople are being encouraged to take performance enhancing supplements so
that they don't have to work as hard to be good, making them way more popular. Also, many people
are taking these drugs to get an advantage over others in a way that they don't have to work hard. If
this continues, it could ruin

Indians Influence On Native Americans
Native Americans centered their lives on nature, on the land, and on their tribes. They were a
horticultural group, very talented at farming. They lived off the land, cared for it, and believed that if
they did good by it, it would be good to them. The Natives had an organized political system, with
the tribal chief at the head. They looked after their tribe members, took care of one another, and
were, in a sense, an extended family. Their "government", if it can be considered such, was
representative of their people. They had voting rights, and in were, in all sense of the word, a
democracy. The Natives were also very spiritual, believing everything from animals to plants, had a
spirit and needed to be treated with respect. They weren't anything

Taking The Road Not Taken
When it comes to making a decision, people tend to go through a series of questions before leading
to what they believe is the best choice. We tend to turn the opposite way when it comes to doing
something that is out of our comfort zone. When being faced with the choice of taking one that is
not the majority recommendation, we turn our back to avoid it. In the Road Not Taken, Robert Frost
conveys the importance of taking into consideration all the possibilities and outcomes as well as
staying open minded along the way. His purpose is to show at times the answer to some of our
problems won't be as clear as we would like them to be. At times like these, its best to just step back
and re–evaluate what your goal outcome is and what's the best step forward to bring you there. ...

Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail," is a beautiful interpretation of Frost's poem.
Emerson and Frost, both state the form of risks that tend to go hand in hand with these types of
scenarios. Risk taking doesn't come easy. I see them as files that don't have enough background
evidence to make them well known of. When little people know of what the outcome may be of a
particular choice or action, they become uneasy which leads them to going through with a "safer"
choice. Although I see this as an issue, due to the fact that you'll now never know how important
that choice could of benefited you or not in the long run. Frost writes the experience of someone
who has a decision to make between two paths. In lines 9 and 10 it states how both paths travelers
equally used. This comes to make me think how the decision that the narrator is making is a big life
decision since there is really no helpful influence to draw him closer towards one of the paths. In
lines 1–4, Frost

How Chris McCandless's Risky Behavior Reveals the True Meaning of Life

  • 1. Case Study Caring For Baby 1. In what ways was caring for Baby like caring for a real infant? Taking care of Baby is similar to taking care of a real infant because it had the same needs (burping, feeding, and changing). It was also like a real baby because it needed constant care, you could not do much because the possibility that it could start crying was always there. 2. In what ways was caring for Baby not like caring for an infant? Taking care of Baby was not like taking care of a real child because it took a long deal of time to do simple tasks that would not take as long with a real infant. An example of this would be burping. While preforming this task on Baby it would sometimes take 10–15 minutes. Taking care of Baby was also different because when taking care ... I was quite worried about the neck support aspect, but when the simulation began I realized that it was actually quite easy and all I had to do is make sure I had a firm grip of the neck and that is was at the correct position. 4. In what ways was caring for baby harder than you expected? I felt that it was the hardest to wake up and care for Baby in the middle of the night. It was also hard to do anything productive when having to take care of the baby. You could not do anything without either having to take the Baby with you or worrying that if it will cry when you leave it. 5. How has the experience with Baby affected your plans for life? This experience with Baby has made me realize that with my current lifestyle and age there would be no way that I could raise a baby. With working two jobs, going to school and doing sports, I already don't have tie for myself, never mind adding a baby to that equation. I would never think about having a child at this age or any time soon into the future. While having Baby, I had to wake up several times during the night and then go to work the next morning. It was hard and I was left exhausted. Taking care of Baby at work was a challenge, I wasn't able to do much work without getting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. I Am Sorry About My Brother 's Death I am so sorry for your loss and my sincerest condolences to you and your family. Your brother was a wonderful person and I remember all of the times that your brother, you, and I shared. I fondly remember the times that we would race each other to your living room to pick a sofa to watch our favorite TV show at 4:00 pm after we all came back from school. I even remember the time that I scraped my knee while trying to learn how to ride a bike around the neighborhood and your brother and you raced back home to find gauze and bandages to help me heal and get better. We all had some amazing times together growing up, back in our school days, and I hope you know that I miss your brother dearly and understand your pain and wish you nothing but the absolute best in life. I know that we haven't spoken about your brother's passing since the funeral but, I would like you to know that your brother's death is not your fault and that you did everything possible to help him. Your brother's unexpected passing was out of your realm of control and you could not have predicted, beforehand, that he would choke on a sandwich that day. Even though I know that this will not bring your brother back, I hope that you can find some peace of mind and contentment in knowing that your brother's death was accidental and that you are not responsible for his passing; it could have happened to anyone and it was out of your hands. Most of all, I hope that everything is going well for you now and that you are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Short Term Advantages And Disadvantages If you are a student, would you rather have a long term assignment or homework, tests, and quizzes? Students in the current generation dislike having homework, taking tests, and taking quizzes. By having a long term assignment it will reduce the stress in students, allow them to focus on one objective instead of multiple objectives, and it will allow the students to spend more time doing other activities. The grading system would be more effective than a traditional grading system. Also, some students will benefit from the long term assignment because tests and quizzes might be one of their weaknesses. These assignments will allow the students to express everything they have learned throughout the time period. First, it would reduce the stress in the lives of many students. They will not have to worry about trying to finish their homework for the next day, or worry about an upcoming test or quiz the next day at school. Long term assignments would lift a weight off of the students shoulders. They would be more relaxed, and would be able to focus more during school. The teachers would be able to teach more, and students would comprehend more of what they are saying. Stress occurs in the lives of so many students throughout their school career, and it is a disadvantage to them. In addition, a different grading system would allow students to focus on one objective instead of multiple objectives. The students will be able to put more time and dedication ... I would agree with this score because I try to do my best at choosing an environment that will best suit me, yet there are still places I could improve in my study habits. When I am studying or doing homework, I either try to find a place in my home that does not have too much noise, or I will go to Starbucks. While I am doing my work I do not stay on one single subject for too long, in order to try and keep myself from getting frustrated or worked up. Doing this also helps me get more work completed, so I have time for sports and other activities. When being a student– athlete, there is a large amount that can stack up ontop of eachother and I have to learn how to manage everything. Time management plays a big role in the life of a student– athlete. To make sure I get everything done and I study the best way for myself, I have to manage how much time I spend on everything, stick to a routine, be engaged and proactive. In all, there are multiple ways that I can improve my study skills as a student– athlete. • 11. Risky Behaviour In Chris Mccaandless Risky Behaviour There was nothing more daring than being alone in a barren wasteland, without a cellphone, money, and even extra food supplies for the road. Chris McCandless, an extreme risk taker, believes that risk taking is necessary to outgrow the "shell" everyone is entrapped within because living on the edge allows characteristics to be built. Jon Krakauer's Into the Wild is a novel that reveals the adventure, journey, and risk taking of Chris McCandless, who is similar to Guy Montag, a protagonist in Fahrenheit 451, and Odysseus, also a protagonist in The Odyssey, who all feature a comparable attribute; that of which is risk taking. At the hand of these characters possessing courageous features believing that "it is the experiences, the great triumphant joy of living to the fullest extent in which real meaning is found," arguably portraying that risk taking is what allows courageous features to become expressed freely (Krakauer, Into the Wild). Jon Krakauer's Into the Wild portrays Chris McCandless through his stubborn, yet intellectual drive to stray away from society, acting as an "oddball" in many people's eyes in order to make the statement of the true meaning of life just as Fahrenheit 451 also is portrayed through Montag, a rebel acting against society. In a sense, Chris McCandless wants to prove that "the joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun" and through this, Chris McCandless takes on a journey for 144 days (Krakauer, Into the Wild). By endeavouring a 144 day journey before his demise, McCandless wishes to explain that taking risk allows exhilarating emotions to be felt, something in which is not acquired when in the confinements of self comfort. However, Chris McCandless understand and supports as to why young people take risks, that is because young people choose not to be influenced on the stigma that they will get old and not be able to have fun perse, in which the stigma is generated knowing "many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of ... • 21. The Involvement Of Outside Sources Or Ethical Arrangements The involvement of outside sources or ethical arrangements has been apart of medical practices for as long as they have been around. As the times have progressed, more and more people have meshed together the need for moral obligations within the practice of medicine. From everything from patients who get priority, to how much to charge for a service or drug, ethics have always been applied. The latter of the two I just mentioned is where I will focus on the different ethical viewpoints of that subject matter. The writings of John Locke would have a specific stance on the freedoms of pricing a service or drug. His backing of natural rights would entail a view in which there is no reason to limit how a medical service or drug is priced. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That man along with many other people who cannot afford the drug end up dying as a result of having access cut off. Let's say that legally there are no laws restricting what happened, so it goes on for as long as the new company wants to keep the prices high. Therefore, ethical intervention and suggestions are only applicable in this situation. At a glance, it seems as if natural rights would take the side of the company who pushed the prices up so that people could not afford them. It is essentially a self interested concept of ethics that ultimately sides with the individual as long as they are not infringing on another's three main rights. Those rooting rights are life, liberty, and property that span the ethical reasoning within the conceptual thinking of John Locke. In essence, no one can infringe upon those rights unless they have somehow formed a social contract with one another, like a government or community. Only in those instances where a social contract has been formed can another being take away the natural rights of another. In this situation, we will say that within the bounds of the contract, that there was no law against what the company decided to do. Taking as the company is not directly acting against the life, liberty, or property of another individual, they are morally in the right from that standpoint. Even though people will die as a ... Anabolic Steroids As he waited in the waiting room to hear his test results, he thought about all those times he abused his body just to be captain of his college football team. Due to taking anabolic steroids, he now may have kidney failure just because he wanted to impress everyone. Anabolic steroids should not be used by athletes because they affect the brain, have long and short term effects, and they are addictive. One of the best reasons not to do anabolic steroids is because they affect the brain, which controls a person's entire body. Pulmonary Embolism: A Case Study Pulmonary Embolism Pulmonary embolism is described to be the "sudden blockage of a major blood vessel artery in the lung" (WebMD, 2014) which can usually be caused by a blood clot. The most common factor of pulmonary embolism is blood clots breaking loose from the leg and traveling to the lungs. Unfortunately, having pulmonary embolism can be fatal due to a large clot stopping blood flow going into the lung. • 33. Alzheimer's Disease In Children Introduction The day a child turns eighteen and graduates from high school is usually a happy day for a family. The even better day is when a parent drops their child off for college letting them learn how to be an independent adult. This stage of life is where parents can consider themselves an "empty–nester", since the children are technically gone and it is just the spouses left at home. Sadly, things do not always happen this way. Families sometimes are not able to launch their children they way they want to, especially families who have children with disabilities because their mental or physical capability is not equipped to handle it. • 35. Why Should Drugs Be Banned In Sports Currently, many athletes have been accused of drugs and have been caught with drugs, in fact the number of athletes that do it will continue to grow if someone doesn't do anything about it. Athletes may think that they get benefits from taking drugs, but they really are hurting themselves in the long–run. Although they may get a benefit for a little amount of time, but overall athletes that take drugs get the opposite of a benefit. Drug abuse in sports has been around for a very long time, it started way back before Christ, from 776–393 BC the ancient greeks used performance enhancing drugs and it has continued since. I think that drugs should be banned in sports because it provides issues for the person and the sport itself, issues such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My first reason is, they affect the respect of the game and its rules. It is a rule that players are not allowed to use drugs or there will be a consequence and athletes still continue to disrespect the rules and use drugs anyway. Secondly, it changes the fairness of the game. Doping and performance enhancing drugs conflict with the natural spirit of the game, consequently making the spirit of the game less valuable due to bending the player's natural ability to play the sport. Many people say that the use of drugs does not define the spirit of the game, admittedly it doesn't, it just doesn't make the spirit as valuable. There is a quote that states, "addiction is a family disease... one person may use, but the whole family suffers." This quote is stating that in sports if one person uses drugs, it will affect everyone. Finally, using drugs such as steroids and doping changes the recognition of the athlete's natural talent. When players use drugs to make them better not all of the talent is real, therefore it is now unnatural talent due to the use of drugs. Athletes may be better, although that is simply because they are cheaters and now unnatural. Without a doubt, there are so many reasons that sports should get rid of drugs. As I have shown throughout, there are multiple negative effects of using drugs and why we should ban them for good. As a result, drug use provides health issues, unfairness, lack of spirit, and lack of natural ability, these are only some of the problems that drug use causes. Clearly, drug use has bad effects and we should eliminate the from sports as soon as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If instead of procrastinating, these leaders developed strategies for the future of the organization, many obstacles and challenges could be avoided, yet in my over thirty years of working closely with organizations and their leaders, I have found very few leaders who are strategic thinkers. Strategic leadership involves numerous activities, but begins with a leader who realizes the need to be proactive instead of reactive. 1. Strategic leaders are always vision directed, goal oriented, and self confident. They see their organization both as it is, as well as how they feel it should ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those who wish to become strategic leaders must first recognize that leadership is not, nor should never be about someone wishing to be popular. The reality is that what may presently appear to be popular may be ruinous in the long term, and organizations that do not continuously evolve generally encounter numerous challenges and obstacles. Times change, societies change, and members needs change, and thus if an organization wishes to be relevant and maintain membership, revenues and keep their missions vital, it must be willing and able to adapt and evolve. Doing this requires leadership who strategically consider the future, and where their emphasis and focus must be. Strategic leaders also consider ramifications of either taking actions which may be potentially unpopular or even in error versus the impact that taking no action will take. Strategic leaders understand that even avoiding taking action is, in and of itself, taking an action, and that everything either has or potentially may have a ramification. 3. Strategy must be directed towards a vision. There must steps decided along the way, with specific responsibilities and goals. True strategy always has a review process built into the procedure, as well. Strategic thinking is true leadership, because it involves comprehensive communication and motivational aspects. Introduction This guide provides information for nominated managers in the effective management, discussion and planning of staff member's planned leave. 2. Benefits The benefits of the effective management, planning and application of leave include: Staff need to take periods of leave or use leave regularly for their wellbeing, work–life balance and connection with family and friends; Maintaining staff health and wellbeing, which is critical to a productive working and learning environment. Not taking leave may expose staff to an increased risk of burnout and stress–related illnesses, potentially increasing use of sick leave; Taking leave regularly may provide other staff with an opportunity to act in a position of higher duties or with different responsibilities, thereby increasing skills and enabling career development opportunities; Avoiding the possibility of staff who have accrued large amounts of leave taking a large block of leave to reduce their leave balance. This may have a negative impact on provision of services without adequate planning for coverage; and Organisational leave liabilities need to be managed at sustainable levels so as not to impact on funds in reserve required for other organisational requirements. 3. Honors English Jake Dirkse Mrs. Kline April 2, 2017 Honors English Ten Hunting and Ethics Hunting throughout the United States has adapted to fit the needs of the people and new technology. Some might argue that hunting has become unethical and that animals need to be protected, but no one fights for animal protection more than hunters. Hunters, while using new technology, are making unethical decisions that affect the way other people hunt; these changes should be regulated so hunters are not making unethical decisions, effectively better conservation of animals. However, if one were to hit the animal, but not kill it immediately, long range rifles would make it more difficult to find the animal because the hunter is so far away. Also, if their prey was still able to run it would be even harder to track it due to the long distance the hunter has to travel while the animal is running away from them. Kevin Helliker also states about long range hunting "But as if Big–Game hunting weren't controversial enough, many of the sport's own practitioners disapprove of long range hunting calling it a violation of a tradition known as fair chase"(Helliker 1). In this quote Hilliker explains the unethical side to long range hunting and how it is ruining the hunting tradition of fair chase. Some of the unethical cons of hunting with long range rifles are that they could give some hunters an unfair advantage. In addition to the unfair advantage is the enormous price of a rifle that is capable of making long range shots; some rifles have a range of over a thousand yards. According to Jeff Barnard, "...some of [long range hunting]pushes the envelope of people 's idea of the hunting ethic, and some states are outlawing high–tech innovations that game managers feel give hunters an undue advantage"(Barnard 1, brackets mine). Spanking or Timeout tend to be a structured way of letting a child know that he/she has done something wrong. Many parents used these forms of punishment as a deterrent hoping the child would not make the same mistake twice but instead succeed. The question of what is the best way to discipline depends on what a parent experienced as a child. Different disciplinary can have a huge impact on how successful a child is in the future. Spanking can make a child become more open to violent and depression behavioral, leading to them failing in the future. Jim Sims–Giles author of the "Child, maternal, and family characteristics associated with spanking" stated that spanking can have a long term and short term side effect. Every night when they could study their minds wander off to other things and come up with excuses not to study. I'm one of them and every time I hear or think the word "study" I cringe. I don't think I am the only one. Truth is studying does not have to be such a daunting task. No one needs to pull an all–nighter or cram all of the information in one night. Ever heard of the expression, "it's not about quantity, but quality?" Same goes for studying. It's not about how long you study or how often. You can study for five hours and get nothing out of it if you just sit there and read a textbook. Studying requires well– developed skills in order for it to be effective. In order for students to be able to study effectively they need to properly prepare to study, have good note taking skills, and develop a technique in order to retain all of the information.
