Abstract
The main goal of Sharp Healthcare is to increase employees, physicians, and patient satisfaction as
well as providing quality care. They believe that in order for the facility to be successful, it has to
have motivated staff who provide quality care. At Sharp Health Care, they believe in open
communication among the staff, which can be argued to be a weak approach. It can also be argued
that Sharp Healthcare can be rewarding their staff so that they can improve their performance

relevant of two requires managerial level employees to foster an attitude of gratitude and send
thank–you notes to other deserving employees. A recent study by MarketTools Inc. for Globoforce
confirms that a lack of sincere recognition provided to employees is a leading cause of turnover. The
study identifies a solid correlation between the level of recognition delivered by managers and the
loyalty of their direct reports (Sun). Thus, thank–you notes are cheap and simple yet sincere and an
effective way of showing recognition to employees which will increase their loyalty and motivation.
RE–RECRUITING EMPLOYEES
One of the tools Sharp managers use to retain the employees is re–recruitment of current employees
rather than new ones. Re–recruiting recognizes employees for their contributions, renews their sense
of self–worth and loyalty, and ensures their longevity. The management places employees in three
different categories based on their performance. The categories include great, good and low–

My First Day
Summer was great with the hot and steamy days, where you felt you could be surrounded by water
for hours, but school was a week away. My first day of middle school was very close. That year I
wanted to break out of my shell a little bit and meet new people, although I was always more of an
introvert. I had gone to the school, I would see for a couple of years and had received my schedule. I

Introduction:
Computer science is a hard concept to grasp because it involves problem–solving and logical
thinking. Along with the concepts, coding issues is one of the greatest trouble students will face.
Students have the Teacher Assist room available for them to use to solve these common problems,
but they will mostly encounter another problem. The TA room for the majority of any given day will
be overcrowded with students; the room's maximum capacity is only 32.
In addition to a crowded help room, when students want to sign up for computer science courses for
next semester, they will find that most of their required courses are full along with the wait–list near
max–capacity. For the summer 2016 semester, one class, Introduction to Computer Systems, already
reached the maximum number of students registered at 40 students along with 50 students on the
wait–list. To add this feat, this class was filled up within the two days registration began.
Over the past five years, the number of students majoring in Computer Science at the University of
Maryland has grown rapidly. Class sizes will be larger leading to poor performances in the computer
science student body. Some of these students will graduate with skill sets directed towards declining
careers. The University of Maryland needs to limit the enrollment of students majoring in Computer

As a slave you are property of your owner. Your owner controls where you work, how you work,
your living and eating. Slavery had been around for centuries but by the 1700's attitudes were
beginning to change.
The slave trade was abolished in 1807, but you must keep in mind that it was only the trade of
slaves that was banned not slavery itself! The members of the Society for the Abolition of the Slave
Trade tactically decided to focus on a campaign to persuade Parliament to ban the trading in slaves.
This was because they felt they were more likely to succeed than if they demanded the abolition of
all slavery throughout the empire. They expected that the complete abolition would continue
naturally.
In economy the slave trade had become less important. There was no longer a need for large
numbers of slaves to be imported to the British colonies to work on sugar plantations because there
was a world over–supply of sugar. This also meant that British merchants had difficulties re–
exporting it. Also sugar could be cheaply bought without the use of slavery from Britain's other

Everyone's eyes were on the whiteboard as my teacher began writing what we all dreaded. The
fourth hour bell had just rung in my 10th grade honors English class, and I was just as nervous as
my classmates as I read out the words on the board. It was time for our "In–class essay test", which
our teacher announced would be given out randomly this week. The notion of writing essays for the
class never made me worried, but the fact that this one would be written in–class and completely

Object–oriented programming at its core is a practice of strategic thinking. Essentially, in OOP we
tend to focus on objects rather than "actions" and data rather than logic. A key step in OOP is
identifying the objects one wants to manipulate and observing how they relate to each other. The
basic idea of OOP involves breaking up the code into objects that can message each other, which
proves to be very beneficial. To better understand and use object–oriented programming as intended,
I decided to investigate two different languages that implement the object–oriented approach to

C# is a general–purpose programming language as part of Microsoft's .NET initiative. It was
designed for the Common Language Infrastructure (CLI). C# applications are compiled into
bytecode that can run on implementations of the CLI. The fact that Microsoft own Visual Studio
means that the IDE is not easily accessible to anyone, as Java is. That is later mentioned in the
differences between the two.
From an article that suggests that C# is an evolution of Java, I was able to gather evidence on the
similarities between them and understand the ways that C# actually improves upon, when compared
to Java. An interesting discovery in my research was that the keywords in Java language are very
similar to the ones in C#; for example, new, bool, this, break, static, class, throw, virtual, and null.
But they are a few different keywords in C# that simply are not the same as in Java. Furthermore,
C# and Java share the same primitive data types, with the exception that C# uses the System
namespace regarding those objects. In C# and Java, there is built–in garbage collection, it helps
prevent memory leaks by removing objects that are no longer being used by the application.
Basically, this means that, although memory leaks can occur, memory management is pretty much

My third visit to Mrs. Casanova's class has thus far been my most productive, in terms of applying
something I have learned both from this class and UCF in general. With the end of the middle of the
second nine weeks rapidly approaching so too are classroom summative assignments. During my
visit on the twentieth I was able to both see the test creation process in a PLC and participate in the
creation of some questions. Two of the three teacher I have been able to spend time with in the
classroom, the first being in internship and the second, Mrs. Casanova with service learning. Both
teachers employ direct instruction as their primary means of conveying information, with Mrs.
Casanova using it more than the honors and AP teachers. However, within the PLC the test
questions were being created for all classes, rather than having separate questions for AP, honors,
and regular classes, with the only difference being the written response questions being more
challenging in upper classes. Due to this, content evidence was very important, especially for the
upper classes, as they technically would be getting the same test as a regular. Beyond this however,
the instruction leading up to the test also had to be evaluated as the questions were made with AP in
mind. According to the book, content evidence connects to state standards and what the students

Douglass was introduced to the movement in 1841 when a man named William Coffin heard one of
his speeches at an anti–slavery meeting and was so impressed with his oratorical skills that Coffin
invited him to share his story as a slave in a convention organised by the Massachusetts Anti–
Slavery Society (MAS). This therefore supports my previous discussion that black people could
contribute to society and live normal lives without white people diminishing their human rights and
privileges and making them slaves.
Douglass got his passion to promote freedom for all slaves after he escaped from slavery and
ultimately had an end goal to "abolish slavery in all its forms and aspects, and promote the moral
and intellectual improvement of the coloured people and hasten the day of freedom to the three
million of enslaved fellow countrymen". He also wrote several autobiographies describing his
experiences as a slave. One of the autobiographies in particular, 'Narrative of the Life of Frederick
Douglass, an American Slave' published in 1845 was a best–selling and was extremely influential
for promoting the cause of abolition. The narrative shows a compelling argument to basic human
rights thus making it extremely influential as the narrative clearly possesses features and linguistic
skills, which for most white people, negated their common perception of black people being
illiterate in the 19th century.

Personal Narrative Reflection My third visit to Mrs. Casanova's class has thus far been my most productive, in terms of applying something I have learned both from this class and UCF in general. With the end of the middle of the second nine weeks rapidly approaching so too are classroom summative assignments. During my visit on the twentieth I was able to both see the test creation process in a PLC and participate in the creation of some questions. Two of the three teacher I have been able to spend time with in the classroom, the first being in internship and the second, Mrs. Casanova with service learning. Both teachers employ direct instruction as their primary means of conveying information, with Mrs. Casanova using it more than the honors and AP teachers. However, within the PLC the test questions were being created for all classes, rather than having separate questions for AP, honors, and regular classes, with the only difference being the written response questions being more challenging in upper classes. Due to this, content evidence was very important, especially for the upper classes, as they technically would be getting the same test as a regular. Beyond this however, the instruction leading up to the test also had to be evaluated as the questions were made with AP in mind.
