This document provides an overview of how to use span tables to select structural members. 2. Screen layout
• The layout remains the
same for all applications
• Application list on the
left
• Inputs required and
outputs appear on the
left
• Engineers certifications
are bottom left

3. Application Inputs
• All applications need a basic set
of inputs which the software
requires to calculate the
maximum span for each product
listed.
• A diagram and ‘?’ are there to
assist you to define inputs.

4. Search for Results
• Once the inputs are defined
click search, the results from
the search will appear on the
left.
• The results will list all products
which exceed the desired
span.
• Locate the desired product,
select ‘add to report’ to save
this information.

5. Reports
• Added products are listed
• Application
• Size
• Strength rating for the member
• Parameters entered
• Max span or result
• Remove products
• If a product if not correct simply
remove and replace with and
alternate

6. Reports
• Functions on the report
• Print Report
• Continue editing
• Add more applications / products to
the report
• Reset report
• Removes all products saved to the
report
• The report may only contain
results will the same wind zone
and roof load, this is shown in the
parameters on the report.

7. Handrails
• They are presented
differently from the
other applications.
• All products and
spans are tabled with
a small profile
drawing.

8. Certification
• All data is certified by two
independent engineers
• Certificates should satisfy
council requirements
