1. Prelim evaluation
1. In my media project I use the following conventions:
Shot-reverse shot
180 degree rule
Match on action
Camera angles
Camera shots
In my media project I use shot-reverse shot and the 180 degree rule
when the characters are talking so that they characters stay on the
same side and so that the audience can see the facial reactions of the
other character when something has been said to them.
I use match on action throughout my project to show that the
characters are moving from room to room such as character A opens
the door and walks through the door way.
I use different camera angles in my project so I’m able to capture
both of the characters in the shot; I also use different camera angles
so that the audience is able to see the face of the character this is so
they can see the reactions on the characters faces.
The camera shots that I use are mid shot, close up and shot-reverse
shot in my project, I use close up several times in this to show the
character moving towards something that is close to the camera or
to show them looking at the camera for guidance or to show the
audience that someone is actually there.
I use shot –reverse shot to show that two characters are talking to
each other and so that the audience can see what their reactions are
to the conversation, I use mid shot most of the time in my project to
show most of the characters and their actions and their facial
reactions within one shot.
2. 2. My media project represents particular social groups such as:
Gender
Age
Ethnicity
Sexuality
Class and status
Physical ability/disability
Regional identity
I have used 6th
formers in my project as they are more mature than
lower school students which means they are able to take things
much more seriously but not too serious that it ruins the comedy
that is in my project.
I have used two male 6th formers in my project as I believe two males
can do a much better at comedy then two females or a male and a
female, (im not sexist but that is what I believe), these two 6th
formers are around the same age and have the same status within
the school.
I have chosen to portray the two 6th
formers as cheeky, fun and
positive so they can be likeable and be found hilarious in what they
do e.g. the slap on the head.
I achieved this by using the actions of character A to the advantage
of the camera and the camera angles so that the audience can see
what character A and character B are dong such as seeing the face of
character A whilst they are slapping character B in the back of the
head.
3. 3. The audience
I believe the audience would be from the age of 13+ and might be
aimed more towards males as females because females may say that
it is representing sexism and because there is violence in it between
the characters, the audience will be interested because it is a funny
video that has funny moments in it.
