The Battle of the Little Bighorn Essay
The conflict that occurred between the U.S. Government and the Native American Indian tribes, known as the Great Sioux War. It was a lengthy,
disjointed struggle between the U.S. Army and the allied tribes of the Teton Sioux and Northern Cheyenne Indians that occurred in the span of fifteen
months between, March 1876 and May 18771. Hostilities between the U.S. Government and the Native American Indian tribes grew due to the
movement of settlers on the land promised to them. The Northern Plains, which consist of the Dakotas, Nebraska, Wyoming and Montana, is where
the majority of the war took place. The most prominent battle of this war was the Battle of Little Big Horn, due to the amount of casualties taken by

After the Civil War ended, Custer was offered the rank of Lieutenant Colonel with the command of the 7TH Cavalry Regiment4. Custer served in many
campaigns the U.S. Cavalry conducted including Major General Hancock's campaign against the Cheyenne and the Battle of Washita River against the
Black Kettle5.
Sitting Bull was born in 1834 into the tribal traditions of the nomadic northern plains Indians6. Sitting Bull displayed great potential in his tribe as a
hunter and began to participate as a warrior of the tribe. Through his actions during conflicts and the leadership he displayed, Sitting Bull was given
the honor to be inducted into the Strong Heart Warrior Society, an honor bestowed only to the bravest warriors. By the mid 1850's he began to assert
political influence on his tribe by taking control of the Strong Hearts7. Sitting Bull knew about the relocation of the Eastern tribes by the whites and the
tactics used to push them off their land. Sitting Bull not only dealt with relocating eastern Indian tribes, but also settlers who continued to push into the
Sioux lands. The settlers knew the boundaries of the Sioux area and continued to push into the land disregarding the boundaries. Sitting Bull was never
elected to be chief in his tribe, but his prestige and influence was greater than other high–ranking political leaders in his tribe8. Sitting Bull
demonstrated his ability as a leader through the constant pursuit he displayed

Essay about Why Athletes are Good Role Models
Why Athletes are Good Role Models
Ever since the ancient years, we have admired athletes and the hard work that they do to achieve their goal of winning. We idolize them and wish
we were more like them. What happens though when the realization sinks in that they are human too and that some of them do get greedy and
selfish? A lot of athletes are model citizens that you should really look up to, but there are also some bad apples in the bunch that ruin it for
everyone. Athletes can inspire young people to work hard so that their efforts can pay off, but no one is pure and flawless. Greed does take a hold of
some players, but they shouldn't be the ones we devote all of our attention to. We should look at the

Shaquille O'Neal bought over 1,000 turkeys and gave to needy families all across the nation on Thanksgiving. I did not hear one mention of that in the
news. They are making us believe that all athletes are bad people with their propaganda. If they spent half the time covering the good–hearted stories
that they do the bad ones, we would have a different opinion on the hard working athlete.
Michael Jordan has started a foundation that donates money for research to help physically challenged children. He has been running up the tabs at
Atlantic City casinos, but who hasn't gambled? We are not perfect. Michael may gamble, but he does his share of helping and works hard for what he
has acquired.
Gambling is no crime, so then he is not showing us a negative thing. If parents disapprove of him gambling, then they should outlaw it because he is
not doing anything wrong. Michael, and other athletes as well, is aware that he is constantly being watched by millions and tries to act accordingly.
There has been a major controversy in the NBA lately thanks to Charles
Barkley and his claim in an interview that he is not a role model, but that is the job of the parent. He says that parents shouldn't be blaming the athletes
if they can't control their own children. Another person that agrees with this notion is football and basketball star Deion Sanders. Barkley has paid over
$80,000 in fines over a period of two years. He

Assignment of Marketing
Introduction
The Red Bull energy drink was launched in Austrlia in 1987 by Dietrich Mateschitz. Dietrich Mateschitz grew up in a small village in Styria, Austria.
After graduating with a degree in world trade he decided to become a "really good marketing man." Dietrich Mateschitz met up with Chaleo Yoovidhya
at the beginning of 1980s and they decided to start an energy drinks together. Realizing that energy drinks product could have good potential in Western

Lessons Learned From the Massacre at Wounded Knee Essays
Introduction
The massacre at Wounded Knee was the last action in a long and bloody war that pitted Native American Indians against U.S Military forces. For
roughly 300 years the two sides had been in constant conflict across America in a battle for land, resources, and ultimately; freedom. This final
massacre solidified the American hold on the west and closed the final chapter on a way of life that can never be brought back. Lakota Indians, having
learned of the death of Sitting Bull started to move towards Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in hopes of finding protection from Red Cloud. However,
the harsh South Dakota winter weather had different plans, causing Chief Big Foot to become extremely ill. The Lakota came across cavalry forces ...

In 1841, that myth was shatter when a group of sixty–nine people moving towards California and Oregon entered into Lakota lands and passed through
unscathed. Once word arrived back east of the their success, people started to jump on wagon trains and venture west for land and prosperity. During
the time period from 1841–1848 the Lakota never bothered any of the settlers passing through, even though they were carving roads over the
grasslands and killing buffalo in the area. 3 The discovery of gold in California changed all of that. Starting in 1848, the stream of settlers "became a
raging river" and in 1850 nearly fifty–five thousand people crossed through Lakota lands via the Overland Trail. 4 The Lakota did nothing even
though increasing numbers of settlers along with their cattle were starting to decimate the prairie grasslands as they passed through on their way
westward. The final issue that led the Lakota to push the settlers out of their lands was that of disease. The Native Americans had never been exposed
to Asian cholera, smallpox, and the measles. European settlers brought these with them as they traveled west and infected Lakota causing many of
them to experience horrible fevers and suffering before dying without any way of being helped. 5 The Fort Laramie Treaty of 1851 guaranteed
sovereignty to the Lakota as long as they allowed settlers to pass through on the Oregon Trail unharmed.6 At this point, the Lakota had enough and

Banning Of Pit Bulldogs Essay
One of the most popular dogs owned by dog owners is the pit bulldog. They are said to have a friendly temperament and is remarked for being
attached to their owners. Pit bull dogs are good pets, but they can cause severe problems if they are not trained correctly. Even with their friendly
attitude towards human, they are aggressive and defensive towards their territory. This tends to threaten the society when considering how to control

These bulldogs were described as friendly and kind by his neighbors, who undoubtedly were shocked by the bestial actions of the dogs. Many people
are outraged by this horrific behavior of the dogs that unknowingly were a family dog to the boy. Some issues of this devastation had arisen whether
banning these attack dogs would be a good solution (Bulwa).
Over the past few years, pit bulldogs have been a great concern because of the dog mauling incidents. In the San Francisco Chronicle, it revealed that
Denver had passed laws to control certain breeds in dogs to ensure the safety for the people. Canada as well took action. They decided to ban the pit
bulldogs in their province in August 2005. Hopefully, by banning the pit bulldogs, there will be less dog mauling devastations in the neighborhood
where many people live.
Dog mauling is quite common, but it is rarely seen that people are mauled to death by dogs. In the statistics shown by CDC (Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention), "of the 199 dog–attack fatalities in the USA between 1979 and 1996, dogs identified as pit bulls were responsible for 60
attacks–just under a third." Compared to the second most dangerous group were Rottweilers, which were only responsible for 29 attacks. This had
raised issues, causing a turbulent disturbance in the public. Some jurisdictions were placed and questions about owning a pit bulldog were

Own a Good Dog Own A Pit Bull
There are many different qualities to consider when choosing a dog. Pit Bulls have all the qualities needed to become a great companion. Although,
if you treat them wrong when they're growing up there is a good chance they will get out of control. If you raise them right you will have one of the
best dogs ever. For example my friend had a Pit Bull that he would hit for no reason and one–day the dog attacked him and hurt him pretty bad. This
is a good example of why you should treat your dog right. From my experience raising a Pit Bull I have come to believe they are the best bread of

They can smash these dog toys called kongs with their jaws. I can't even smash one by stepping on it. They are so strong that you can hang a rope
from a tree and they will lock their jaws on the rope and swing from it. They can also jump very high. My Pit can already jump onto my bed and
that is almost double his height. Some Pit Bulls can even learn to climb trees. Pits are also known for being very and muscular. My dog already
weighs forty–five pounds at four months old.
The third characteristic of a good dog is courage. Courage is an important characteristic of a good dog because they are more play full and fun to be
around. This also means that they won't be afraid of anything or any one. This is important for a good guard dog. Pit Bulls are also very courageous. One
example of how courageous Pit Bulls are, is when my Pit was twelve pounds he was trying to wrestle a one hundred and sixty–five––pound Rottwiller.
Whenever he is around dogs his own weight or close to it, he always is the dominant dog. Another way he shows his dominance is whenever he is in

The Energy And Sports Drink Industry
The energy and sports drink industry has been around for more than forty years. In those years the industry has gained many competitors. These

sports drinks, and vitamin–enhanced beverages. Asia was the only geographic market where Coca–Cola's sales of alternative exceeded the sales of
PepsiCo's energy drinks, sports drinks, and vitamin–enhanced beverages. In the United States, Coca–Cola was the third–largest seller of alternative
beverages, with its combined sales of Powerade, Full Throttle, Nos, Rehab, TaB, and Vault energy drinks; glaceau vitaminwater; and Fuze
vitamin–enhanced drinks, falling just short of the sales of Red Bull energy drink (p.273)". Coca–Cola resources and capabilities have to be strengthened
and nurtured to remain competitive in the energy and sports drink industry.

The Rodeo Horses running, bulls bucking, and flame throwing are all things that you could see at a rodeo. When I was in the fifth grade I went to a
rodeo with my girl scout troup . We saved up for almost a whole year. We sold cookies, earned money, and waited for the exciting weekend trip to A.J
Ranch.
A.j Ranch is a beautiful place it has horses, stables, a rodeo arena, campsite and much more. We stayed in a little cabin, in the woods on their
property. It was really small, there were four bunk beds, and a loft. Our troop leader Tabitha Amelia's mom, and Emma's mom and Bella's moms
stayed up in the loft, there was three cots. Back on the main floor my troup (a total of 8 girls) slept in bunks. Hailee and I shared a bunk. I slept on
the bottom bunk , and Hailee on the top.
On the second night of our stay at A.j Ranch we went to the rodeo. A.j Ranch has a lot of property, we had to ride a wagon from our cabin in the
woods to the ranch where the rodeo was being held.
On the other side of the ranch people were preparing for the rodeo, but first there was a big BBQ. They roasted a gigantic pig over the fire. It looked
delicious, and the scent smelled so good that you wanted to eat it all. They had everything there, there was a long line of tables full of food, just talking
about this is making my mouth water.

technological advances and legendary events of 1998 are featured by the 1998 Bulls, Google, IMac, Seinfeld and MP3s. The 1998 Chicago Bulls

players, such as Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman and even Michael Jordan! Each of those three players and the coach are in the Hall of Fame today,
including the assistant coach Tex Winter during the 97–98 season (1997–98 Chicago Bulls Season). Today we are still affected by this team as one of
the best. Also Michael Jordan is still the best player in the league, with unbreakable records. We can learn from them what it takes to be a good team.

RED BULL REPORT
Red Bull operates within the energy drink sector of the soft drink market and has been the leading market share holder in this area for the past
several years. It was founded by Dietrich Mateschitz, an Austrian who studied world trade and commerce in Vienna. In 1982, Mateschitz came back
to Austria from a visit to Thailand with some samples of an energy drink called Krating Daeng (which is Thai for "Red Bull"). Two years later he
founded the company Red Bull GmbH as a 49 percent partner with Chaleo Yoovidhya, founder of Krating Daeng drink in Thailand. Red Bull is a

They have personified Red Bull. It is a lifestyle product – one that reflects the entertainment and sports enthusiasm of Generation Y (a.k.a Millenials –
people born after 1981). It would keep you going after an arduous race or an exhausting night out at the clubs. Convenience stores and supermarkets
only counted for 30 to 40 percent of Red Bull's sales (even with the most prominent shelf placements). The majority is sold at bars and dance clubs.
Not only was Red Bull sky rocketing in terms of popularity, but also in sales; it is priced almost three times as much as a Coca–Cola can. By 1998 Red
Bull has sold over 300 million cans worldwide, and by "2009 some 3.906 billion cans of Red Bull Energy Drink were consumed world–wide".
Once the name of the energy drink became known worldwide amongst the 'slightly off the wall' youth, Red Bull kept their name and attitude. The
way they marketed their brand was considered to be a new way of marketing, and they did not have much of a choice to market differently. Their
direct target groups, Generation Y, are believed to be cynical to traditional marketing strategies. The so called 'viral' marketing strategy Red Bull
implemented consisted of hiring Generation Y people to promote their drink. They made their brand visible on the streets by driving around cars
such as the one in the picture above, or by handing out free cans to people who have been identified as in need of some energy. For Red Bull to be

The Battle At Little Bighorn
Introduction
The battle at Little Bighorn is one of the most talked about battles in American History. In this paper I will cover the events in history that lead to the
battle, the battle, aftermath and the lessons learned from this battle. Over one hundred years later it is still one of the most talked about battles in Army
history.
History
The battle at Little Bighorn occurred on June 25th 1876 near an Indian camp located by the Little Bighorn River. The camp was located in the Black
Hills not on a reservation. To fully understand the battle we must first look at what lead to it. The issues that arose in the eight years leading up to the
battle would be the catalyst for what the battle at Little Bighorn.
To begin in 1868 the Fort Laramie Treaty was signed.
The treaty's intention was to bring an understanding a civil relationship between the Sioux tribes and the new settlers. The treaty designated land in
the Black Hills for the Native Americans to live and hunt. The land was to be protected from settler's invasion. The times of amicable living were
short lived when in 1874 General Terry sent Lt. Colonel Custer to evaluate the land in the Black Hills and to find a location for a new Army Fort. On
his expedition Lt.Col. Custer discovered gold. The discovery of gold in the lands protected by the treaty would be the cause of the ultimate tension
between the Native Americans and the U.S government. Custer sent accounts of the gold discovery to the newspapers,

Red Bull is not differentiated by gender, race or income, but does position itself as young, sporty and dynamic. It is also perceived as the market
leader. The brand is not associated with a type of distribution channel, but does insist on usage situations – anytime, anywhere, for any situation (see
advertisement A in Appendix 1).
We evaluated the brand personality using the five dimensions sophistication, competence, sincerity, excitement, and ruggedness on a scale of 1 to 5, 1
being the lowest score on that dimension. As we can see on the chart, sophistication and ruggedness have lower scores, while all other dimensions
achieve high grades. Red Bull is especially perceived as exciting and competent through its sponsoring of events (see advertising B and C in Appendix
1). Red Bull does not emphasize associations to its history or the country in which it is produced.
We can affirm that Red Bull has strong, favorable and unique brand associations, such as the dynamic and fun association, the typical taste and energy
provision feature, and the competence perception due to its market leader position.

The overall evaluation of the quality of Red Bull is very positive. The brand is very familiar, customers believe it is of good quality and have a strong

Personal Narrative– Moose Hunt
It was the middle of October, and it was finally time for my long awaited moose hunt. I have waited ever since I was a little girl for this opportunity,
and it was finally here. So, my father and I packed up our stuff and left the warmth of Phoenix. We were leaving the "Valley of the Sun" and headed
for a place called Wyoming. After two days and fourteen long hours of driving, we made it to our hunting unit.
The mountains were tall (11,000 feet +) and covered with bright powdery snow. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. I was eager to set–up camp
and prepare for our nine day hunt. But, Dad said that we had to drive around and check out all the good places, just to make sure that we were in ...

some trees about a half mile from our last moose sighting and started stalking closer. We were nearly to the Moose spot when we heard another vehicle
coming down the trail behind us. We thought for sure that no one would be so un–sportsman–like that they would just drive by us and start shooting. It
had to be obvious that we were stalking that Moose. But just in case, we hurried it up and ran down the trail. As we turned the corner, we saw the
pickup stopped in the middle of the trail and the hunters were below the road glassing and talking loudly. And right across the gulch in front of them
was my moose with the cow and calf.
Things were just going great! I thought for sure that they were going to shoot my Moose. But my dad wasn't going to let that happen. We ran right by
the truck and set–up in the nearest spot we could see the Moose. It was a pretty bad position and I was basically laying backward in the middle of a
bush trying to get steady. The other hunters were kneeling down and looking through their scopes. My dad could not believe his eyes and all he said

Following the civil war the Army was downsizing. Custer was a captain in the regular army. In July 1866 he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel
made second in command of the 7th Calvary at Fort Riley Kansas. As the settlers, along with the railroad, were pushing west, there were conflicts
with Indians. Custer's mission was to tract down these roving Indian, war parties. This was a new type of war for Custer. It was guerrilla warfare.
Custer tried to track down the Indians as if they were the confederates. He would camp on hill tops so he could see all around him. At night, his
men would build big fires. The Indians would see this and flee. This lack of success drastically brought the morale down in Custer and his men.
Before long, a group of 15 men deserted, Custer ordered them to be tracked down and shot. He then went on a forced march with his men just so he
could spend a day with his wife regardless of the repercussions to his career. Major General Hancock gave a court martial to Custer for the execution
of his men without trial. Custer was suspended in pay for one year.v

The Great Sioux War Essay
The Great Sioux War of 1876
By 1876, gold had been discovered in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The gold was found on Sioux land, and this region was considered sacred to
the Lakota Sioux Indians. The he land was to be protected and respected by the United States Army, because of the Fort Laramie Treaty of 18681, but
the Army could not keep miners off the Sioux ground, which led to the increase of Sioux grievances towards the Americans; some grievances that are
still taken offense to today. These battles and negotiations soon were known at the Great Sioux War of 1876. In 1874, the government had sent out
Lieutenant Colonel George Custer to examine the Black Hills. On his expedition, Custer revealed the presence of gold in the area, ... Show more content

It was said to be insufficient time for the Sioux to respond because the deep winter restricted travel. As the deadline of January 31 passed, the US
government telegraphed General George Crook and Alfred Terry to commence their winter campaigns against the Sioux hostiles (Sioux War of
1876). The first two campaigns led by Crook, Terry, and Gibbon were failures for the US. The first big altercation occurred at the Battle of Little
Bighorn. Led by Lt. Col. Custer, the Seventh Cavalry encountered a large village on the west bank of Little Bighorn. The US troops were defeated
there, and about 260 men were killed, including Custer (The Battle of Little Bighorn). This also became known as "Custer's Last Stand3." Custer's
death and defeat at Little Bighorn, led the Army to change its tactics. The troops surrounded villages of Red Cloud and Red Leaf. There, they
arrested and confined the leaders, holding them responsible for failing to turn in those from hostile bands. After, the tribal leaders finally signed a
new treaty giving the Black Hills to the United States (Keenan 213). Other campaigns led by Colonel Ranald Mackenzie and Colonel Nelson Miles
were successful for the US. Mackenzie defeated the Northern Cheyenne and pressured them to relocate, while Miles pushed a number of Northern
Cheyenne and some Lakota to either surrender or slip across the border into Canada (Sioux War of 1876). Rumors were heard that northern hostiles
were interested in surrendering,

Michael Jordan Leadership Paper
Study of a Contemporary leader When sitting down and thinking about a leader that I wanted to write about, and eventually stand up in front of
people and talk about was a lot harder of a thing to do than I originally thought. There are so many different types of leaders that people follow and
are drawn to, for so many different reasons. Whether those reasons follow a certain beliefs like that of cults and religions, or if they simply follow
leaders because they were just born with all of the necessary skills and attributes that helps them relate to people, everyone follows a certain type of
leader because of their own personal reasons. This leads me to why I chose my leader to talk about in this paper.Michael Jordan to me is one ... Show

It wasn't until his junior year of high school that Jordan finally won a game against his older brothers. But even still, only standing at 5'11 as a
sophomore Michael Jordan did not make varsity and had to play on the junior varsity team. This drove him to work even harder because he was fully
confident that he could play with the older kids. Every single day after his normal basketball practice, Michael would go home and worked on his
game even more, day in and day out. This drive and determination helped him get on the varsity team the next two years. He went on to average 25
points a game his junior and senior year at Laney High School in North Carolina. Michael's senior year he received the nomination to play in the
McDonalds All American Team. Also during his senior season Michael was offered a full ride scholarship by North Carolinas coach Dean Smith
to play for the Tar Heels. With Jordan having such a competitive edge, motivation, charisma, and drive he was able to become the most important
player on their team, and a strong leader for the players around him. During his time at North Carolina, Michael Jordan led his team to victory in
the NCAA Division 1 championship in 1982, when he scored a buzzer beater against Georgetown University to win. Michael Jordan was also

Michael Jordan’s Second Return to the NBA Essay
Michael Jordan's Second Return to the NBA
Michael Jordan has been of interest to me ever since I began playing basketball myself in the fourth grade. I often found myself trying to replicate
Jordan's moves and motions on the court. I already know a great deal about Jordan because I have studied his career and practically memorized his
credentials, both as an athlete and a thriving businessperson. I often found myself staring at my ceiling at night reciting free–throw percentages and
such. The main controversy when dealing with Jordan, however, focuses not on his ability to play basketball, rather his second return to the game.
Should Jordan have returned for the second time, or should he have stayed away from the basketball ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There could be a few reasons for this. One is that they are afraid that Jordan will turn his team into another dynasty and dominate the NBA again.
Other reasons could be that they simply do not want to see Jordan take a chance on ruining his legendary title of the greatest basketball player of all
time. I must say that ticket sales do not lie and overall, Jordan's return was a success on this parameter of the subject.
Secondly, Jordan's performance is another subject matter to contend with when questioning his return to basketball. It is well known that Jordan
has performed well throughout his career, but how does his performance after his return compare to his previous statistics? As per the player
profiles of Yahoo Sports, Jordan's Minutes Per Game average were "38.8" in 1997 before his retirement and "34.9" in 2001, the first year of his
return. These numbers show little reduction in playing time. The slight decline, however, is likely due to fatigue that occurs late in the game. When
looking at his points per game, I, again, see no major deficit between the two years. In 1997 he tallied "28.7" ppg (points per game), and in 2001 his
numbers only dropped to "22.9" ppg (Yahoo Sports). These numbers show me that Jordan can still adequately play the game. If his number were
drastically lower, however, I might reconsider my claim. Based on these

Marketing and Red Bull
P1 – describe how marketing techniques are used to market products in two organisations
In this piece of work I will be describing how marketing techniques are used to market products in two organisations. I will be talking about the
techniques, role and objectives of the two products that I have chosen. The two products that I have chosen to talk about are the Samsung galaxy s3 and
Red bull. Marketing means the action that a business does to promote their products and services. Market research involves the collection of data to
obtain insight and knowledge into the needs and wants of customers and the structure and dynamics of a market.
The Samsung galaxy s3 is the world's most popular smart phone model, holding 10.7% of the global ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Samsung have different survival strategies. Survival strategies means when the sales of a product decrease in a business, and the business is trying
to keep them up. Most of Samsungs products have been developed to be more high tech than their competitors. This gives them an advantage as
they will get more sales than anyone else in that industry. The Samsung Galaxy s3 had been developed from the Samsung Galaxy s2 and has been
created to be easier to use and more enjoyable for the customer. Apple tried banning Samsung from releasing their Samsung galaxy s3 because Apple
think Samsung have used some of their software for their products. A business would need survival strategies if sales for their products have gone
down and they want to make as much money of the product before it goes bust. Samsung reported an 82% jump in profits over the first quarter of last
year, while revenue climbed 22%.
Branding in a business is important as it shows the reputation of the business. The importance in the buyer's behaviour can affect the businesses sales,
as it can increase or decrease their sales. Consumers are responsible factor for the sales of any products or services, so when a new product is being
released in the market, understanding consumers buying behaviour becomes very essential. The business has to study and understand the

A Comparison Of The Epic Heroes, And The Characters Of...
Beowulf represents a type of protagonists rarely seen in the modern world of entertainment, the epic hero. For centuries their simplistic tales of
overcoming evil and their demeanor have dominated Western notions of masculinity: Control over emotion, physical strength, arrogance, innate
morality, and an alpha male mentality. It might be ideal for older cultures and the Anglo–Saxon warriors that needed a model of morality they need to
idolize, but in our times we need more. The America we live in is more global, more diverse, more interconnected that any previous civilization. Our
definition of masculinity has changed as we progressed and learned more about ourselves as humans. We are postmodern society, wheregood and evil
are subjective, and we crave for empathy and connection. Berserk's main character Guts, is such hero of our time. On the surface the two heroes share
many similarities, they are both buff hyper–masculine males, they both wield enormous swords to fight fantastical monsters. Yet there are
fundamental differences between the two. These became apparent after reading and analyzing both Beowulf and Berserk. Epic heroes are the epitome
of good. They are good. They are the personified version of a culture's beliefs on morality and virtue. Their stories are cut out: a heroic quest/journey,
good versus evil, and the triumph of the hero over the villain in the end. Simplistic in nature, epic heroes, like Beowulf, rarely show genuine emotion
and rarely teach us,

The NBA Should Enforce a Hard Salary Cap
How many of you sports fans out there are sick of paying twenty–five dollars for a lousy seat at an NBA game? How many of you are sick of seeing
the same teams in the finals every year? I'm sure there are thousands of you out there that feel this way, as do I. The way we can fix these problems is
to demand that the NBA enforce a hard salary cap. A hard salary cap would lowerticket prices, allow for more teams to be more competitive and
eliminate the possibility of any future lockouts. If the three things listed above aren't met, it's hard to say if the NBA will survive at all. I want to see
the NBA survive, but not in the way things are being run now. A hard salary cap is the only way... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
( 1 ) The players realize that they are eliminating their average fan and they don't care. We as fans should not pay these outlandish ticket prices. A
hard salary cap is the only thing that will lower salaries and ticket prices. If ticket prices aren't lowered, I personally feel that the players can kiss their
pay checks goodbye. But what do other people think.
Some people believe that NBA arenas will fill up in spite of high ticket prices. Just last year Michael Jordan made 33.14 million dollars while the
whole Chicago Bulls salary cap was 26.9 million, and all season long seats were filled. That means to some that no matter the amount, people will
continue to attend NBA games.
To the people that believe this, I must remind them of Major League Baseball and the situation that they faced just a few years back. First, players'
salaries skyrocketed to obscene levels, alienating their average fan. Next, the players couldn't decide how to divide up their millions. Finally, they
quit playing the game and their fans quit caring about Major League Baseball. Does any of this sound familiar? This is exactly what's happening in
the NBA right now. If it happened to the American Pastime it can, and certainly will, happen to the NBA. Yet people, in spite of the lower ticket
prices provided by a hard salary cap, aren't convinced that a hard salary cap is a good idea. They feel that players

What Is Censorship?
How does censorship in media undermine the creativity and enjoyment of what we indulge ourselves in? The existence of censorship itself can take
many forms in media. Sometimes it can exist for reasonable reasons to the most absurd. This filter has existed as long as public demonstration has
existed; there was always information that has not has not been shown or spreadto the public. Now in modern times, it has been used and
implemented in across several formats in media and entertainment. Is it the opinions of people or someone in a higher power for something to be a
product of censorship? Berserk had its debut in 1988 with its prototype and 1989 as a full–fledged story. This is a manga written and drawn by Kentaro
Miura who has been in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Censorship is like a veil in art and originality. The same can apply to the stories artist tries to create for a viewer.
Once censored it is just another story with likely a different meaning of what it was originally. When it comes to Berserk, it be viewed as mindless
violence at a quick glance, but when fully read the reader can see it is the story of the protagonist Guts, he is not a mindless killer who brutally
murders every foe in his path. Guts has a reason for doing so and a very specific one as well, since the story of guts is the living example of
someone who had everything go wrong in their life. From being picked up by a prostitute traveling with mercenaries from his hanging mother in
the middle of nowhere to seeing nearly all his comrades betrayed by his dear friend and left to the point of being mentally broken, Having that kind
of story in a protagonist would be censored due to how unreasonably violent it would be. Now if Berserk did not have its creativity and twists that
censoring would not allow, would it be a flavorless graphic manga lost before the new millennia? The manga itself would be very restrictive with its
material and likely leave the reader with too much to ponder if many of its original ideas were squandered and extremely toned down. Would it still be
better than it originally was or would it be some manifestation of senseless entrainment, is there a difference?

Essay on The Impact of Michael Jordan
December 21, 1891– The birth of basketball. It has been changed from simply shooting a soccer ball into a peach basket to dunking a seven pound,
leather ball into an iron rim. In the early years of the game, basketball was not as popular as other sports. In the 1985 NBA draft all this would
change with the emergence of a 6'6" basketball phenomenon from Wilmington, North Carolina. Although going third in the draft, he recreated the
game and is known as the best player to ever touch a basketball; he is Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan was born on February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn,

Basketball Camp. There he met Dean Smith, the coach of the University of North Carolina's Tar Heels. Smith encouraged Jordan to come to the
school. A few months later Jordan signed his letter of intent and received a full scholarship. The Tar Heels had an outstanding season and went on to
play in the NCAA championship against Georgetown University. Jordan hit the game winning shot making his name know around the country. For
the next two seasons, He averaged a reputable 17.7 points per game. In 1984, Jordan traveled to Los Angeles to compete with the U.S. Olympic
basketball team. With Jordan's help, the team won a gold medal. Soon after Jordan entered the NBA draft and was picked third by the Chicago Bulls.
The bulls were the laughing stock of the NBA, but that would soon be changed (Mattern 82–28). During his first season with the bulls, Michael became
a fan favorite averaging 28.2 points per game. He was nominated to play on the NBA All–Star team and won rookie of the year. Jordan's second season

Bobcats have a lot of raw young talent. They have Kemba, DJ Augustin, Tyrus Thomas, Gerald Henderson, etc. I think these fresh legs brings for an
up–tempo fun to watch game, so I definitely think I can cover low class teams.
Name any and all things we should know about you.
Well I play basketball, I work at a basketball camp, I 've won many awards, I know lots of fun facts, records, I can tell you lots of things about trade
rumors, I 'll talk fantasy, and I will keep everyone up to date on news. Remember, I 'm not afraid to express my opinion and I love to debate!
Now, some stuff that would allow us to get to know you and what kind of basketball "fan" you really are:

Essay on Son of the Morning Star
Son of the Morning Star Analysis
Evan S. Connell has a unique writing style. While most stories are told from beginning to end, Son of the Morning Star: Custer and The Little Bighorn
(North Point Press, 1984) begins with the aftermath of The Battle of the Little Bighorn. It is then followed by numerous events which led up to this
battle. Connell chose this non–linear writing style in order to distribute the details he finds most fascinating and interesting to share with his audience.
Using the conclusion of the battle as the introduction of the narrative creates a suspenseful tone.
In the beginning of the story, the setting is the battle field which The Battle of the Little Bighorn had taken place a few days earlier. Lieutenant James ...

He also includes a background on Chief Gall as well, providing facts about his birthplace and family. For example, he writes, "He was not a
hereditary chief. The family seems to have been undistinguished, and because his father died at an early age the boy was regarded more with sympathy
than respect. So it appears that not through any legacy did he become a chieftain..." (pg. 376)
Throughout the story, the audience develops an idea of the motives of the Native Americans during the battle. The reader becomes aware of what
Sitting Bull was thinking:
If Sitting Bull did indeed call off the attack it was not because of any affection for whites, who, he hated with abiding and impenetrable rancor, but
because he understood how vindictive they could be. If all the soldiers were slaughtered the whites would insist upon another battle... (pg. 76)
The audience was not only given an idea of what they were thinking before the battle. The author also makes a point to include a song that the Indians
wrote after they had defeated General Custer and his men, "At that time the Indians did not realized they had fought Custer...when they found out, they
sang about him. David Humphreys Miller transcribed one such kill–song..." (pg. 54)
With the erudition given in the story, the reader concludes that the Native American leaders were fully developed human beings.

Essay on Native Americans vs the United States of America
Times were very hard for Native Americans during the mid to late 1800s. The reasons for their afflictions could only be blamed upon the United States
of America. For thousands of years, Native Americans had roamed around the Americas. There had also been many tribes spread across the West that
fought between each other in order to have their land.1 It wasn't until after reconstruction in the United States, that the white Americans started having
ordeals with the Native Americans. The main tribes involved in the conflict starting around 1850 were theLakota people and the Sioux. The relationship
between them can only be remembered for broken treaties and wars. It is true that these tribes had only mind there own business for many ... Show more

It was then that in 1854, that the Senate made amendments to the Treaty of Laramie of 1851, that allowed the United States to build forts in the
Territories among the Oregon Trail.1 The Indians would agree to sign it2 but the outcome would only be incompatibility. At around 1864, an Indian
tribe known as the Sioux would attack these forts and start a two–year war with the United States.3 After the battle, in 1866, the council initiated Fort
Laramie of 1868 that made peace with the Sioux and respected their land.4 From the first article of this treaty, the tribes would agree to "abstain in
future from all hostilities whatever against each other."5 The treaty would also make the Native Americans from the Sioux to recompense for any
"wrongs" committed against citizens of the United States.6 The most important article was to respect and acknowledge each other's territories. 7 In
this case, they were to give the land of west Missouri and the Black Hills.8 If the Native Americans were to make any violations upon this Treaty, then
the United States government would have to retain their promise to respect territories that belonged to the Indians. The Treaty of Laramie would be
broken in 1874 when gold would soon be discovered by miners in the Black Hills. Unfortunately, the United States had to fight for it.9 However, in

Essay on Film
Everyone lives in a different reality, that is why people enjoy watching movies. It gives insight into the world's of others. Film directors strive to
portray their characters' lives as believable as possible. Many help set up the authenticity with costumes and such.
In The Governess Goldbacher sets the historical reality with subtle elegance. In the scene where Rosina enters the dining area to inform her employers
of her departure, all are dressed in attire associated with the English Victorian era. The son in an oversized baggy shirt, the father with a smart suit and
a string bow tie. The daughter is sporting a child like dress which drops just below her knees, and the mother in a high neck lace dress. ... Show more

Towards the movie's beginning we see Elizabeth being interogated on treason charges. From a God's Eye view she is seated alone in the middle
surrounded by three men moving around her. The shot mirrors that of the opening burning at the stake. When the camera recedes to her eye level,
occasionally cross shaped windows are visible on the back wall of the castle. This piece illustrates how she must continually stand alone against those
are out to oust her as their rightfull ruler, the caslte's vast open space also helps to confirm her lack of support amoung the nobles. The windows
portray the on going religious battle.
In Raging Bull Scorsace portrays Jake LaMotta's life as a constant battle. At the turning point with the montage sequence of flashbacks we see many
short clips of his numerous bouts mixed with colorized home video of his late courtship to early marriage with Vicky. This shows that he has no
distinction between the boxing ring and life in general. The home video having color only means that this was the point in his life where he was most
happiest, and he will always remember it vividly.
In Rocco and His Brothers Visconti conveys Rocco's strength through his self and moral sacrifices. This is most evident in the scene on the bridge
where Rocco denies himself and breaks up with Nadia by telling her to go back to his brother Simone. It's not that Rocco doesn't love her, it's that his

Argumentative Essay On Bull Fighting
Bull Fighting has been a tradition in Spain for centuries. "Bullfighting traces its roots to prehistoric worshiping and sacrificing of bulls. The killing
of a sacred bull is called tauromachy and was a central iconic act of the Mithras" (Total Spain 2016). It has become a part of the Spanish culture and
due to this, it is seen as art and tradition to people. Fans do not look at bull fighting as a sport but instead view it as a ritualistic event that conveys
artistic expression and also view it as a form of dance. It is argued that this an important part of the Spanish culture and because of this some see
nothing ethically wrong in the situation. It is a hard argument to fight when you try to argue against a cultural belief. Though bull ... Show more content

Bull fighting has been made illegal in most countries and this shows how most people view this act as inhumane. It is even a controversial issue in
Spain, the country in which holds the tradition. When you see an animal do a trick for you, you may think that it is amazing an animal can do that, but
the training in some cases that animals go through to perform those tricks is inhumane. Snake charming is when a snake appears to dance to the music
of a flutist. How the flutist gets the snake to do this is where the problem occurs. Physical abuse is the way the trainer gets the snake to act in this
matter (manner?) and the snake is moving in fear of the moving flute (Tiplady 2013). Another type of animal training that involves abuse is when it
comes to dancing bears. The bears are taken from their mothers at a young age and put through unnecessary pain. The young bears are castrated and
have their canines removed. A rope is then is inserted through their muzzle and the pulling of the rope is what causes the bear to dance (Tiplady 2013).
Circuses began as small shows based on equestrian acts but have evolved into large shows that involve multiple species of animals and acts. The use of
the animals in the circus has become a controversial issue, mainly towards the treatment of the elephants. Specifically involving the ethics of taking the
animal out of its natural habitat,

In term of business strategies, there should be hundreds definitions, especially in such a huge field as marketing. Marketing strategy is the process that
the firm uses to translate its business objectives and strategies into market activities. To be more specific, a marketing strategy enables the company to
select a target segment and localize the desired position that the products aim to target customer then specify the plan for the promoting activities to get
the goal (Silk, 2006). The key for the managers and their business to achieve success is to understand how to harness the organization's resources to
meet customer's needs using marketing analysis, understand competitors, consider political issues, technological and external and internal changes,
government actions as well as globalization (Gauzente et al., 2004)
In case of Red Bull, the company shows an image of a friendly small–sized enterprise. Said Dolan (2005), in 2004, Red Bull used $600 million on its
marketing plans such as sport sponsorship, events and impressed design (Gschwandtner, 2004). The company does not use any kind of direct
marketing tools and has sponsored five hundred sports athletes in many sport subjects, for instance Formula 1 Skiing, Free Climbing... Red Bull
created a "buzz" marketing plan in brand recognition. The managers of Red Bull seem to be judicious when they produce a series of cartoons that help

  • 3. The Battle of the Little Bighorn Essay The conflict that occurred between the U.S. Government and the Native American Indian tribes, known as the Great Sioux War. It was a lengthy, disjointed struggle between the U.S. Army and the allied tribes of the Teton Sioux and Northern Cheyenne Indians that occurred in the span of fifteen months between, March 1876 and May 18771. Hostilities between the U.S. Government and the Native American Indian tribes grew due to the movement of settlers on the land promised to them. The Northern Plains, which consist of the Dakotas, Nebraska, Wyoming and Montana, is where the majority of the war took place. The most prominent battle of this war was the Battle of Little Big Horn, due to the amount of casualties taken by the U.S. 7TH Cavalry led... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the Civil War ended, Custer was offered the rank of Lieutenant Colonel with the command of the 7TH Cavalry Regiment4. Custer served in many campaigns the U.S. Cavalry conducted including Major General Hancock's campaign against the Cheyenne and the Battle of Washita River against the Black Kettle5. Sitting Bull was born in 1834 into the tribal traditions of the nomadic northern plains Indians6. Sitting Bull displayed great potential in his tribe as a hunter and began to participate as a warrior of the tribe. Through his actions during conflicts and the leadership he displayed, Sitting Bull was given the honor to be inducted into the Strong Heart Warrior Society, an honor bestowed only to the bravest warriors. By the mid 1850's he began to assert political influence on his tribe by taking control of the Strong Hearts7. Essay about Why Athletes are Good Role Models Why Athletes are Good Role Models Ever since the ancient years, we have admired athletes and the hard work that they do to achieve their goal of winning. We idolize them and wish we were more like them. What happens though when the realization sinks in that they are human too and that some of them do get greedy and selfish? During the time period from 1841–1848 the Lakota never bothered any of the settlers passing through, even though they were carving roads over the grasslands and killing buffalo in the area. 3 The discovery of gold in California changed all of that. The final issue that led the Lakota to push the settlers out of their lands was that of disease. The Native Americans had never been exposed to Asian cholera, smallpox, and the measles. European settlers brought these with them as they traveled west and infected Lakota causing many of them to experience horrible fevers and suffering before dying without any way of being helped. 5 The Fort Laramie Treaty of 1851 guaranteed sovereignty to the Lakota as long as they allowed settlers to pass through on the Oregon Trail unharmed.6 At this point, the Lakota had enough and decided to take ... Frazier comes from an era where he didn 't have all the facilities and specialized equipment that the players of today have. Michael Jordan Leadership Paper Study of a Contemporary leader When sitting down and thinking about a leader that I wanted to write about, and eventually stand up in front of people and talk about was a lot harder of a thing to do than I originally thought. There are so many different types of leaders that people follow and are drawn to, for so many different reasons. Whether those reasons follow a certain beliefs like that of cults and religions, or if they simply follow leaders because they were just born with all of the necessary skills and attributes that helps them relate to people, everyone follows a certain type of leader because of their own personal reasons. It wasn't until his junior year of high school that Jordan finally won a game against his older brothers. But even still, only standing at 5'11 as a sophomore Michael Jordan did not make varsity and had to play on the junior varsity team. This drove him to work even harder because he was fully confident that he could play with the older kids. Every single day after his normal basketball practice, Michael would go home and worked on his game even more, day in and day out. This drive and determination helped him get on the varsity team the next two years. He went on to average 25 points a game his junior and senior year at Laney High School in North Carolina. Michael's senior year he received the nomination to play in the McDonalds All American Team. Also during his senior season Michael was offered a full ride scholarship by North Carolinas coach Dean Smith to play for the Tar Heels. With Jordan having such a competitive edge, motivation, charisma, and drive he was able to become the most important player on their team, and a strong leader for the players around him. During his time at North Carolina, Michael Jordan led his team to victory in the NCAA Division 1 championship in 1982, when he scored a buzzer beater against Georgetown University to win. • 25. Michael Jordan’s Second Return to the NBA Essay Michael Jordan's Second Return to the NBA Michael Jordan has been of interest to me ever since I began playing basketball myself in the fourth grade. I often found myself trying to replicate Jordan's moves and motions on the court. I already know a great deal about Jordan because I have studied his career and practically memorized his credentials, both as an athlete and a thriving businessperson. I often found myself staring at my ceiling at night reciting free–throw percentages and such. Other reasons could be that they simply do not want to see Jordan take a chance on ruining his legendary title of the greatest basketball player of all time. I must say that ticket sales do not lie and overall, Jordan's return was a success on this parameter of the subject. Secondly, Jordan's performance is another subject matter to contend with when questioning his return to basketball. It is well known that Jordan has performed well throughout his career, but how does his performance after his return compare to his previous statistics? As per the player profiles of Yahoo Sports, Jordan's Minutes Per Game average were "38.8" in 1997 before his retirement and "34.9" in 2001, the first year of his return. These numbers show little reduction in playing time. The slight decline, however, is likely due to fatigue that occurs late in the game. When looking at his points per game, I, again, see no major deficit between the two years. In 1997 he tallied "28.7" ppg (points per game), and in 2001 his numbers only dropped to "22.9" ppg (Yahoo Sports). These numbers show me that Jordan can still adequately play the game. If his number were drastically lower, however, I might reconsider my claim. Based on these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Samsung Galaxy s3 had been developed from the Samsung Galaxy s2 and has been created to be easier to use and more enjoyable for the customer. Apple tried banning Samsung from releasing their Samsung galaxy s3 because Apple think Samsung have used some of their software for their products. For centuries their simplistic tales of overcoming evil and their demeanor have dominated Western notions of masculinity: Control over emotion, physical strength, arrogance, innate morality, and an alpha male mentality. It might be ideal for older cultures and the Anglo–Saxon warriors that needed a model of morality they need to idolize, but in our times we need more. The America we live in is more global, more diverse, more interconnected that any previous civilization. Our definition of masculinity has changed as we progressed and learned more about ourselves as humans. We are postmodern society, wheregood and evil are subjective, and we crave for empathy and connection. Berserk's main character Guts, is such hero of our time. On the surface the two heroes share many similarities, they are both buff hyper–masculine males, they both wield enormous swords to fight fantastical monsters. Yet there are fundamental differences between the two. These became apparent after reading and analyzing both Beowulf and Berserk. Epic heroes are the epitome of good. They are good. They are the personified version of a culture's beliefs on morality and virtue. Their stories are cut out: a heroic quest/journey, good versus evil, and the triumph of the hero over the villain in the end. How many of you are sick of seeing the same teams in the finals every year? I'm sure there are thousands of you out there that feel this way, as do I. We as fans should not pay these outlandish ticket prices. A hard salary cap is the only thing that will lower salaries and ticket prices. Some people believe that NBA arenas will fill up in spite of high ticket prices. Just last year Michael Jordan made 33.14 million dollars while the whole Chicago Bulls salary cap was 26.9 million, and all season long seats were filled. That means to some that no matter the amount, people will continue to attend NBA games. To the people that believe this, I must remind them of Major League Baseball and the situation that they faced just a few years back. First, players' salaries skyrocketed to obscene levels, alienating their average fan. Next, the players couldn't decide how to divide up their millions. Finally, they quit playing the game and their fans quit caring about Major League Baseball. Does any of this sound familiar? This is exactly what's happening in the NBA right now. From being picked up by a prostitute traveling with mercenaries from his hanging mother in the middle of nowhere to seeing nearly all his comrades betrayed by his dear friend and left to the point of being mentally broken, Having that kind of story in a protagonist would be censored due to how unreasonably violent it would be. While most stories are told from beginning to end, Son of the Morning Star: Custer and The Little Bighorn (North Point Press, 1984) begins with the aftermath of The Battle of the Little Bighorn. It is then followed by numerous events which led up to this battle. Connell chose this non–linear writing style in order to distribute the details he finds most fascinating and interesting to share with his audience. Using the conclusion of the battle as the introduction of the narrative creates a suspenseful tone. At around 1864, an Indian tribe known as the Sioux would attack these forts and start a two–year war with the United States.3 After the battle, in 1866, the council initiated Fort Laramie of 1868 that made peace with the Sioux and respected their land.4 From the first article of this treaty, the tribes would agree to "abstain in future from all hostilities whatever against each other."5 The treaty would also make the Native Americans from the Sioux to recompense for any "wrongs" committed against citizens of the United States.6 The most important article was to respect and acknowledge each other's territories. 7 In this case, they were to give the land of west Missouri and the Black Hills.8 If the Native Americans were to make any violations upon this Treaty, then the United States government would have to retain their promise to respect territories that belonged to the Indians. The Treaty of Laramie would be broken in 1874 when gold would soon be discovered by miners in the Black Hills. Unfortunately, the United States had to fight for it.9 However, in ... Film directors strive to portray their characters' lives as believable as possible. Many help set up the authenticity with costumes and such. In The Governess Goldbacher sets the historical reality with subtle elegance. In the scene where Rosina enters the dining area to inform her employers of her departure, all are dressed in attire associated with the English Victorian era. Towards the movie's beginning we see Elizabeth being interogated on treason charges. From a God's Eye view she is seated alone in the middle surrounded by three men moving around her. The shot mirrors that of the opening burning at the stake. When the camera recedes to her eye level, occasionally cross shaped windows are visible on the back wall of the castle. This piece illustrates how she must continually stand alone against those are out to oust her as their rightfull ruler, the caslte's vast open space also helps to confirm her lack of support amoung the nobles. The windows portray the on going religious battle. In Raging Bull Scorsace portrays Jake LaMotta's life as a constant battle. At the turning point with the montage sequence of flashbacks we see many short clips of his numerous bouts mixed with colorized home video of his late courtship to early marriage with Vicky. This shows that he has no distinction between the boxing ring and life in general. The home video having color only means that this was the point in his life where he was most happiest, and he will always remember it vividly. The killing of a sacred bull is called tauromachy and was a central iconic act of the Mithras" (Total Spain 2016). It has become a part of the Spanish culture and due to this, it is seen as art and tradition to people. Bull fighting has been made illegal in most countries and this shows how most people view this act as inhumane. It is even a controversial issue in Spain, the country in which holds the tradition. When you see an animal do a trick for you, you may think that it is amazing an animal can do that, but the training in some cases that animals go through to perform those tricks is inhumane. Snake charming is when a snake appears to dance to the music of a flutist. How the flutist gets the snake to do this is where the problem occurs. Physical abuse is the way the trainer gets the snake to act in this matter (manner?) and the snake is moving in fear of the moving flute (Tiplady 2013). Another type of animal training that involves abuse is when it comes to dancing bears. The bears are taken from their mothers at a young age and put through unnecessary pain. The young bears are castrated and have their canines removed. A rope is then is inserted through their muzzle and the pulling of the rope is what causes the bear to dance (Tiplady 2013). Circuses began as small shows based on equestrian acts but have evolved into large shows that involve multiple species of animals and acts. The use of the animals in the circus has become a controversial issue, mainly towards the treatment of the elephants. Specifically involving the ethics of taking the animal out of its natural habitat, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
