ASSAULT ON ONE...ASSAULTS US ALL
The Navy recently released NAVADMIN 096/
10, discussing Sexual Assault in our
service. This powerful NAVADMIN reminds
us that "Sexual Assault undermines the
morale, unit cohesion, and operational
readiness of the total force. An attack
on a shipmate is an attack against us
all. We have the power and responsibility
to intervene before a crime occurs and
continue our unified efforts to eliminate
this crime from our ranks. We seek your
feedback as we work together to reduce
sexual assaults."
Sexual Assault impacts not only the lives
of the individual victims, but also the
entire command. The results can be
devastating, and that devastation spreads
like a cancer, impacting mission
readiness and the safety of all those who
are exposed to it.
