14. GTU possesses several computer centers with 720 computers in total. At each
faculty educational as well as scientific labs are functioning. Especially can be
distinguished some labs like at Power Engineering and Telecommunication, Civil
Engineering, Informatics and Control Systems and Mining and Geology faculties.
In the University has been launched contemporary Testing Centre, which can
serve up to 300 students simultaneously and electronic recording system that
allows monitoring educational progress of each particular student.
15. GTU central scientific library was founded in 1922. It’s one
of the largest libraries in Georgia and holds about 1,726467 million books and
526767 scientific periodicals. The certain part belongs to the electronic database –
10000 items.

17. STEM Higher Education Partnership
Establishment of Educational Hub
Implementing of US Educational Programs and Capacity Enhancement
of Georgian Public Universities
• Objectives: To build up capacity in Georgian public universities and to offer
international standard US degrees and or ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering
and Technology) accreditation in STEM fields.
3 Finalist Consortium Universities have been selected through an open competition:
• Michigan State University and University of Missouri;
• San Diego State University of California;
• North Carolina State University and Auburn University.
capacity building process will cover state universities not only
located in the capital Tbilisi but in all the regions: Batumi, Kutaisi,
Akhaltsikhe, Telavi.
18. The University has licensed TELL ME MORE® language training software,
which includes American English, British English, Dutch, French, German,
Italian, Spanish. Learning programs are also suited to user needs, as the
software offers Complete Beginner, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced
levels.
19. Student life
GTU Department of Social, Sport and Cultural
Issues is responsible to maintain students’
portfolio in cultural, scientific, charity and
many other spheres.
In the university acts Students’ Self
Government Board, the main task of which is
students’ engagement in the University
management processes.
The amateur theatre, sport teams and
clubs, are functioning in the University.
Championships, excursions, scientific
conferences, concerts are performed
yearly.
