3. Who we were
and who we are now
Since 1960 Ternopil Technical Faculty of the Lviv Polytechnic Institute .
Since 1964, the faculty was reorganized as the Ternopil branch of the Lviv
Polytechnic Institute.
Since 1991, the Ternopil Instrument-Making Institute was founded on the
basis of the Ternopil affiliate of the Lviv Polytechnic Institute.
Since 1995, the university bears the name of the famous Ukrainian scientist
and public figure Ivan Puluj (Ternopil State Technical University).
Since 2009, with the decree of the President of Ukraine for a significant
contribution to the development of national education and science, and
taking into account the national and international recognition of the results of
higher education, the university was granted a national status –
Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University.
4. TNTU
Member of the European University Association
(4th level of accreditation),
trains students in 24 specialties and 24 full-
time and part-time Master programmes.
It includes 4 faculties, Educational Institute of
Information Systems, Distance Learning
Institute, 7 centers, including Postgraduate
education (retraining) center and Preparatory
center, 19 research laboratories, FabLab.
The structure of TNTU includes 3 Colleges:
Ternopil College, Husyatyn College and Zboriv
College.
