The Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of NAS RA was founded in 1957. It has around 200 personnel including 130 scientific researchers. The institute's mission is to be a leading ICT research institute in Armenia, provide expertise in computer science and engineering, and develop e-infrastructures for Armenia's knowledge-based society. The institute participates in national and international projects and conducts research and education activities in applied mathematics, informatics, and computer science. It operates the Armenian Academic Scientific Research Computer Network and the Armenian National Grid Initiative research infrastructure. The institute also offers PhD and MS programs in related fields.
