1. Draft Article
So first of all we have to say congratulations on the success of your no 1 single “summer
nights”. How does it feel?
M: Thank you! I was so surreal when i was told i was number 1 in the charts i just never
thought in my wildest dreams that it would happen! I’m so grateful for all my fans who have
helped me get here, it’s an amazing feeling to have that support and love off people and it
makes even more excited to release the rest of my album!
When can we expect from your album and more importantly when can we get it?!
M: The album is out in 2 weeks! it’s got some great upbeat summer songs like ‘summer
night’ but also some more acoustic more personal songs which I’m proud of. They may also
be a few surprise collabs on there you’ll have to wait and see (winks and laughs)
We’re looking forward to that! Who would be your dream collab?
M: There are so many people I’d love to collab with, l think Demi Lovato would be an
amazing i love her music and her voice is incredible! im a big fan !
What’s the best piece of advice you could give to someone who wants to be in the music
industry?
M: i think you really need thick skin to be a musician. If you take things to heart you’re not
going to get very far. I’ve learnt to just ignore negative comments. Everybody is so serious,
but i just want to have fun and enjoy my time doing what I’m doing. People are always so
quick to judge but who cares what people think!
You’ve been compared a lot to Katy Perry , what do you think about being the ‘British Katy
Perry”?
M: it’s weird when people say that, its a huge compliment though because e she is amazing!
i love Katy Perry but i don’t want to be her, i am my own person i just want to be me. I have
met her though she was so genuine and down to earth , she’s a lovely woman.
Who are your biggest inspirations?
M: My biggest inspiration is definitely my mum. She’s a strong hard working women and
that’s what i try to be. She taught me how to be a real woman and i admire her. She’s has
been my rock through my career and my number one fan!
Do you miss being at home?
M: Of course, i miss Manchester so much , it will always be my home even though i dont get
to visit it that much recently. My family are alwaysr always coming out to see me though,
and are always there when i need them! It sucks being away for long periods of time but i get
to visit some amazing places im very lucky and grateful.
What do you love most about music?
M: ive always loved music from a young age. It’s my freedom and my outlet to vent my
feelings. I like the way how music can completely change people mood. I hope that my
music makes people happy and they enjoy listening to it as much as i love making it!
2. Is fame what you thought it would be?
M: Fame is overrated! its not about the music anymore, it’s all about what you look like and
who your with and what you wear! its silly really. i really don’t consider myself as famous
though, its weird that people see me as a ‘celebrity’.
What’s next for you now after the success of your single?
M: Now I’m just excited to release my album “be happy” i cannot wait for the fans to hear it,
and then I’ll be heading on a tour around the UK. It’s going to be a bust few months but i
really am living my dream!
