Other are OMNIVORES
such as the goldfish.
Some fishareHERBIVORES

They are OVIPAROUS.Theylay
lots of eggs in thewater but they
don´t look after them.
Most of themare
CARNIVORES like sharks.
FISH
GILLS aresmall opening on both
sides of their head that are used to
breathe.
FishhaveFINSwhichhelp
them to move through the
water.
They also have a TAIL.
Somefish have
teeth, like the
piranha.
Otherfishlikethe
swordfish, don´t
have teeth.
Fish are covered in
SCALES.

Over this, the tadpole develops legs
Afterthey born, young amphibians go through a
number of changes to become an adult. This
transformationis calledMETAMORPHOSIS.

AMPHIBIANS
When they are young, most
amphibians livein water and
breathethrough GILLS.
Allamphibians are CARNIVORES.
They eat insects and spiders.
Adults amphibians have
lungs to breathe and
they can also breathe
throughtheirSKINwhen
it is wet.
All amphibians are
OVIPAROUS. They layeggs
in thewater butthey don´t
look after them.
ATADPOLE is bornfrom each
egg. They breathe through
gills.
They live in the water.
Newt
Some amphibians have aTAIL,
such as the salamanderand the
newt
An adult frog lays many eggs
in the water.
It becomes an ADULT FROG.
Now it has lungs and can live
outside the water.
Toad
- Theyhave moist SKIN.
- Their tongue is long and
sticky.“They use it to
catch their food”.
It becomes a
FROGLET. Its tail
gets smaller and
its legs grow
stronger.
Salamander
They have four LIMBS

How do reptiles live?
All reptiles are CARNIVORES. There a few reptiles, like the iguana, that
are HERBIVORES.
Allreptilesbreathe through LUNGS.
REPTILES
They are OVIPAROUS. Most of them don´t look their eggs after they
hatch.
What do reptiles look like? Chameleon
Snake
Most reptiles have four short limbs like feet.
Howeversomereptiles,likesnakes,haven´tlegs.
Reptiles are covered by dry scaly skin.
Some reptiles,likethe turtle,have ahardSHELL
on its back to protect its body.
Crocodile
Turtle
BIRDS
All birdsareoviparous,
which means they lay
eggs.
They build a NEST and
look after the eggs.“ The shape of a bird´s beak depends on the type of food that it eats”.
They have WINGS
onthe upper part
Most birds use
their wings to fly.
Otherbirdsare HERBIVORES,
likethecanary.Theyeatfruit
and nectar from plants.
Some birds, like the ostrich,
areOMNIVORES.
Some birds are
CARNIVORES,like theeagle.
What do birds look like?
Kingfisher
Ostrich
Hummingbird Swallow
Eagle
Birds
breathe
through
their
LUNGS.
They have a beak at
the end of their mouth
and they don´t have
teeth.
Their bodyis covered
in FEATHERS which
protect them from
the cold and the
rain.
They have four limbs. They
have two legs or feet on the
lower part of their body and
are covered by SCALES. Wings
are the other two limbs.
Blue titof their body.
They can be CARNIVORES like
lion, HERBIVORES like cows or
OMNIVORES like human beings.
All mammals breathethrough
their LUNGS.
Mammals that live in the sea
swimunderwaterandthemrise
to the surface to breathe.
MAMMALS
What do mammals look like?
Bat
The only
mammals
which flies
because it
has WINGS.
They
have

Even dolphins and
whales havehair.
They have four

them swim.
Female mammals
