In the portrait of Dorian Gray, wealth unfortunately
wins over love. Superficiality and the love of
appearing emerges in the novel.

This vision of life makes us understand
how important is appearing rather than being;
such a profound feeling as love shouldn’t be
dominated by wealth and problems arising.

In ‘The great Gatsby’ the theme of love and richness are the basis
of the protagonist. Although he is rich and believes that wealth is
the only important value, he is obsessed by the figure of Daisy.
Gatsby tries to persuade her with wealth and all his luxorious
stuff, but at the end the writer Fizgerald tries not to win the love
corrupted by richness
