MOLLUSCS
These animals are invertebrates and they belong to a group
called:
Mollusca – Cephalopoda
Mollusca – Gastropoda
Mollusca – Bivalvia
Where do they live?
They live on land or in water
Body
Some have an internal shell like an octopus or a squid.
Others have external shells of 1 or 2 pieces, like snails
and clams. They have a soft body.
FEEDING
What do they eat?
They eat plants and fish
What do they have for feeding?
Gastropods and cephalopods have a rough tongue
called a radula.
Bivalves filter the water to extract the nutrients.
MOVING
The gastropods use a muscular foot.
The cephalopods have tentacles and move by
propulsion.
The bivalves move by propulsion absorbing water.
BREATHE
Gastropods breathe through lungs and gills.
Bivalves and the cephalopods breathe through
gills.
REPRODUCTION
They have sexual reproduction, female and male
They have asexual reproduction the snails are
hermaprodites
They can see, feel and taste.
