Dear Parents,
To end the schoolyear well, 5B Best Bets Class is sponsoring a series of outreach
projects which will benefit our maintenance staff, as well as the children of the
community. This will also be a good way to channel their excitement for the upcoming
summer break towards something more constructive and formative. Through this series
of outreach projects, we hope to also be able to achieve the corporate objective of
Southridge of making our students men of service, “serving others, especially the needy”.
1. “Pasasalamat Drive”
This will be the students’ way of saying “Thank You!” to all the janitors,
gardeners, maintenance men and security personnel. For one week, we will collect
donations of useable clothes. We will turn over these clothes to ASG Head, Mr.
Asuncion, for raffle/distribution. This campaign will run from March 1 to 9. We will
be accepting donations of shirts and pants for children, as well as for adults.
2. “Piso-Piso Para sa Party”
We would like to give a McDo Party for the 5 janitors and maintenance men
who helped maintain our classroom. To be able to do this, we need to raise only
around P500. For us to raise this amount, it will only take each student donating P2
everyday for 10 days. We will hold this party on the last day of the schoolyear, the
last day of the final exams. We intend to collect this small amount from March 12 to
23.
3. “Gamit Pang-Eskwela; Magagamit Pa Nila”
We will accept donations of notebooks, pens, papers, school bags, textbooks,
crayons, etc. which our boys will not use anymore by the end of the schoolyear.
Rather than just throwing away those old materials, we will donate those that can still
be recycled to our less fortunate neighbors. This campaign will run from March 23 to
30. This will be for the benefit of the children of Sitio Santo Nino. We will turn over
the collected school materials to Fr. Francis of Hillsborough Chapel.
Hopefully, these three projects will make this school year even more special for
all of us. It would be a very good way of ending a highly productive year for the Best
Bets!
